Is everything ok? Went there this afternoon and the gentleman that was working the front was going through some sort of crisis. It was not busy at all but the waiter / front door gentleman was not professional nor kind. We came in polite and excited to start our experience and we were immediately told to "sit down". No please, no hey welcome folks. The only reason we stayed was because my friend was visiting in town from California. As we sat there and did our best to continue to be kind to the employee, he continued being curt and unprofessional, sometimes to the point of not even answering us. As we sat eating our meal, we watched as a few other customers came in and immediately left after engaging with this gentleman. Upon leaving, I overheard this man telling other customers that they "better not act up because he was security also".... It was a weird experience. I get if you have a bad day here or there, but after being on the food and beverage business for over 10 years and having to take over multiple roles at once at times, you take a day off if you have a bad day in order to not affect the business you work for. Such a fun place to visit! I am from out of town and my friend took me here. It was not busy considering it was after a hockey game. We had reservations and started playing; they have 3 courses, each with 9 holes of mini golf. The courses themselves are decorated well but the putting is not very difficult. Nonetheless, it is a good time. I love the electronic scorecards too. Afterwards, we got some drinks which were just okay. Here are my thoughts: Environment Very spacious place with options to sit at a table, hang out at the bar and make your way around a few golf courses. They also have a space for large parties and provide catering as well. The energy was upbeat and fun but also a place where you can go to just hang out in a light hearted environment. Great vibes. Service Really loved the servers. They were friendly and made sure our large party had everything we needed. They helped guide us through the event we had scheduled and were kind in a chaotic environment. Food Unfortunately i didn't get a ton of pictures of the food but it was all pretty good. First off, the service was great, our bartender was super nice and attentive and gave great recommendations, the food came out fairly quick and was super delicious. We shared the hot honey sausage pizza and it might have been the best pizza I've ever eaten. As far as bar restaurant I give it a 4/5 hands down, only losing some points because the beers were a bit overpriced. The mini golf side I would give 0/5 stars if possible. We booked early 1230, they weren't super busy. I paid $44 for 9 holes of very easy mini golf. I mean a majority of the holes were very straight forward. We didn't really know that for $22 a person we got 9 holes of subpar mini golf where none of the bars were stocked and if we wanted more drinks we had to go back to the main bar. By the 3rd hole, we realized we wasted our money and even taking our time retrying putts and taking pictures we still finished in less than 15 minutes because the course is painfully Easy, and it cost us an extra $20 to play another 9. Because of that we scrapped our plans to hang out there longer and get more drinks, and instead we went down the street to another bar. At peak hours this probably makes sense as I'm sure it gets packed, but there is no reason for an early tee time to pay the outrageous fee for only 9 Holes and no bartenders on the course even though that's a big selling point. I would recommend coming for the food and drink, but save the $22 on the golf, it's simply not worth it, especially before 5pm. I recommend for these early times, give access to all Holes for that cost, or charge a discounted rate, because $22 for 10 minutes or mini golf is insane. I would have given 4/5 stars if either of the above would have occurred. read more

Beautiful aesthetics in this unique restaurant. Went for the new-ish Sunday brunch. Definitely an unbelievable deal with 1 entree and unlimited shareables for $30 (unlimited mimosas available separately for $25). Our server, Autumn was wonderful, very personable & I was impressed at how well she knew every dish on the menu. There are still a few kinks to work out with the connection between servers and the kitchen, but rating it 5/5 for its potential, including a killer atmosphere and tasty menu. The pizzas are massive and feed 3-4 easy. I ordered the breakfast pizza & it was the best breakfast pizza I've had. Tangy sauce with a kick, crumbly tender sausage and a delicious aioli on top. My friends and I visited Puttery for the first time. The venue is well decorated and extremely colorful. It was a bit crowded when we went on a Saturday night so prepare for a wait. I also encourage checking in as soon as you arrive. We didn't get a chance to dine in but I did order a cocktail. I tried the Good Sound & Beach Bound. It reminded me of vacation so if you like coconut you'll love it. Location: The location is metro accessible and there are garages near by but ride share and public transit would be best. The actual put-put experience was fun as well. It's great for groups but keep in mind that your pace is dependent on who's in front of you. We decided to host my baby shower at The Puttery. We were assured multiple times it was wheelchair accessible and it said so in the contract. I asked repeatedly during the event. But when my friend in a power chair showed up, staff claimed they didn't know where the elevator was, didn't know where the key was, had to call someone offsite... I waited outside in the cold with my friend for over 45 minutes, missing about a third of the three hours we booked for the baby shower. At one point staff offered to carry my friend up the stairs, which is impossible because he's in a 500 pound power wheelchair and is also an adult and weighs an adult amount of weight himself. It's also insulting and directly counter to what I any my mother were repeatedly told. This has ruined my baby shower. I am furious and will be making a complaint to the city. I do not recommend this venue -- Even if you don't use a wheelchair, the amount of being told "it's fine" when it wasn't fine, they weren't prepared at all in any way despite multiple checkins, staff took zero responsibility. One guy at the end *almost* took responsibility, but wanted a cookie because he came in on his day off to let my baby shower guest into the venue we were repeatedly assured was wheelchair accessible and which this Yelp page claims is wheelchair accessible. Just completely unacceptable and does not bode well for a number of other issues that might arise. read more

Came to celebrate a friend's birthday. Cute themed concept. The staff were extremely helpful and patient taking the time to explain the game since mini golf was a new experience for some of us. The various themed spaces were really cute and were great opportunities to snap a quick pic with friends. There is also a photographer that takes pics that you can purchase for $20, if interested. We decided to grab a bite to eat after playing a few rounds. Our server, Alexandra, was super sweet. Unfortunately, the quality of the food put a damper on the evening. The ginger ale was watered down. The shareable veggie tostados looked like something you would just make in the kitchen for your toddler. Beware you only get 3 and they are very small for the price - $16. The tropical ceviche was too sweet. The birthday girl ordered the miso salmon. It was underwhelming and tasted like it had just been microwaved. I ordered the poke bowl. It was yucky and I couldn't swallow it. At this point we just wanted to speak to management. Someone else ordered the pizza, but opted not to eat it since we all were clearly ready to leave. Thankfully management comped our meals. This was sooo much fun!!!! We went early on a Friday afternoon when it's not crowded. They claim to provide adults with an immersive experience like no other - I wouldn't go THAT far, but I'd say that it does make for an epic night if you've been groundhog-daying all the past few Fridays. IT's something different for a change, and without kids running around everywhere, it gives a much more hipster and exclusive vibe you won't easily find elsewhere. I remember going to Monster putt and that was such a let down with the screaming kids and forced-fast-pacing. Even the Putt Putt upstairs of Tyson's Capital One building was mehhh compared to Puttery. I actually knew Puttery was coming into DC through a friend who's affiliated with the company and they told me their visit to the other Putterys have been excellent. The price is higher though - for 9 holes, you're paying premium top dollars so don't feel rushed to get through all of them. Enjoy the moment. The score machines are great because it really forces you to get in the competitive zone! They'll come by asking if you need another drink, or halfway through, there's another bar for a quick drink. There's two bars at a minimum in here - the larger one is towards where the scenes are. The front bar is smaller but it's got a friendly bartender. There's a LOT of employees at this joint, so you won't feel stranded if you don't know what you're doing. We chose to go through the Alice in Wonderland theme, and that seems to be the most popular choice, but I'm ready to try out all the other ones! read more

I love mini-golf and Puttery is a disgrace to the game. I visited recently and played the Illusion course. All of the three courses cost $22/person to play. I was looking forward to some trippy decor, lots of classic illusions, and creative holes -- Puttery had none of this. There are hundreds of famous, classic illusions Puttery could have used in their decor, but nope, there are just some painted walls and a few props that might vaguely remind you of illusions. BORING. The course design is terrible. All of the holes are short with very few interesting or interactive elements. One of the holes is literally a straight putt about 5 feet long, like you'd see on a putting green. LAME. I did not eat or drink at Puttery. After getting ripped off by the mini-golf, I had no desire to spend more time and money there. Beers are an outrageous $7-$8.5 and cocktails start at $16. Positives: I liked the decor in the main bar and the natural light from the windows. The touch screen scorecard at each hole worked pretty well. I visited Swingers Mini-Golf recently and I would recommend them over Puttery, although they are also ridiculously expensive. read more

I've been wanting to try the new indoor golf spots and had an opportunity to try Puttery on a Sunday afternoon. The place was rather empty. A few folks were sitting at the bar. The space itself is cute. Different bars and areas to sit and lounge. I think only two courses were open at the time and we asked for the more popular one. Can't remember the name of the course but it was meh. The actual playing area was rather small and the course layout was basic. The entire golf experience may have been 10 minutes...and that's being generous. Maybe it was so quick because it was empty and there was no one in front of us. And they allowed another couple to go right behind us so we were rushing since they were waiting for us at each hole. It would be be nice to space things out more especially since the place wasn't busy. It's cool that you can keep score on a tablet that follows you around each hole. A server came around at the beginning of golfing and asked for our drink orders. She made some drink suggestions. I can't remember what we got but my friend enjoyed hers and I sent mine back because it was not drinkable. They were willing to fix it but I declined. Because this is a new spot I do recommend making a reservation. When we all arrived for our reservation earlier in the day, there was no line or wait, upon leaving, the line was out the door!!! Totally expected for a new, hot, hip, and aesthetically great laid out bar, lounge and golf establishment. In the former NoPa Restaurant and Bar space is a new venue, Puttery. It's huge, has a great vibe and decor and will definitely become a popular spot for both day and night entertainment. I visited on a Saturday at 1:30pm for mini golf. You make and pay for reservations online ahead of time where you select a 90 minute window (the website advertised $18/pp per tee time, but it was actually $22), then upon arrival you select a tee time to play 9 holes (mine took about 35 minutes) and a course. You're welcome to walk through the other courses because they are all picture-worthy. This was my first time playing putt-putt and it was fun! The only negative with my experience was that the couple right behind my party kept having to wait for my group. Not sure if that's because we were slow, they were fast, or there's not enough time in between tee times (they are every 5 minutes). It wasn't crowded at all at the time I went, but I can imagine how annoying that might be if it is crowded. It can make you feel like you have to rush. I didn't order any food or drink from the menu, but there were plenty of cute places to sit and enjoy. I would definitely return. This would be a fun place for any type of outing (friends, families, date, corporate function, etc). read more

This the newest indoor golf establishment that's giving Swingers a run for it's money. I highly enjoyed my time here. Each course has a different theme. When I went there were two course options to play: Art museum and Illusion. They do have a third course called the Conservatory that is now available to play. The place is very whimsical and every hole is has a different design related to the theme. There's two bar areas, one when you enter and another closer to the back of the place where you can grab drinks once you're done playing. Similar to Swingers you can carry your drink with you while you play. It's a great spot of an outing with friends or a date night. The only negative I can think of is the holes are fairly easy so you get through the course pretty quickly. I don't think it took us more than 10-15 mins to go through the entire art gallery. However, there's seating in every nook and cranny so if you get there early or want to hang out after and enjoy some food and drinks you can. read more

They offer 3 courses that were really basic and lacked any real challenge or creativity. It felt like they just threw together simple obstacles without much thought. We came in for a date night on Saturday and were instantly singing along to the music flooding speakers from the DJ at the center bar. The drinks are pricy, but the bartender was pleasant, quick and had good technique. They have a menu of variety, but we chose to try the Ancho wings for a small bite - standard buffalo wings. We had a great date night at Puttery tonight! Overall, we thought it was very expensive, but we had fun! We started off with a surprisingly good dinner and drinks. You must get their hand cut fries that are imperfectly cut and perfectly cooked. I have a thing for hand cut fries that have some crispy bits and nice substantial fries too. Their juicy sliders had just the right amount of pickles, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Their flavorful, tender meatballs and red sauce were very good (this coming from a master meatball maker). Seriously. YUM! We were so impressed. Other bars and adult arcades/bowling alleys need to take some pointers from Puttery's chefs. This space is HUGE and really well decorated. There are at least 3 bars and plenty of plush places to sit, eat and drink. AND they have servers on the putt putt courses. Sweet! We moved onto the main event - Putt putt! We started in the "Illusion" room. The putt putt course was fine - but nothing to write home about. The greens were pretty small and we went through the 8 hole course in less than 20 minutes. For $44 for 2 people, we thought it could have been better. One thing we loved was the digital screen to keep score. Nice high tech touch! We decided to do another putt putt and went to the "Art" course next. The course was a little larger and very cool! But, by that time, it was soooo crowded we had to wait for several groups ahead of us to putt. So many people stop to take (excessive) photos, so it takes much longer. Snap your pics and move on people!! I wish they would offer a price to putt all 3 courses. We ended up spending over $150 for just the 2 of us. Pricey but fun. We'll be back. read more
