Visited this place for a small corporate event. We had a private room on a Tuesday night. We were basically the only group there. Our server while we were in the room was good. Food and drinks came out at a relatively decent pace. After we played our 9 holes of mini golf, we were instructed to leave the room and head to the bar. It was after the move to the bar that we felt completely unwelcome. We were accused of bringing counterfeit free drink tickets, limited in what we could order and the bartender even sprayed that back of one of my coworkers with cleaner while closing down the bar. Oh...and it was only 7:45. Started off as a good experience but crashed in the end. Don't go here. read more

Fair warning! For some weird reason, they don't allow people under 18 after 5pm on most days. im not entirely sure why and the staff said they didn't know either! Staff seemed to not really care if you were there or not. Its a pretty relaxed place and serves alot of food. I didnt partake but some of it looked pretty good. Its not the type of mini golf place that happy gilmore played at. Its very cramped but they did what they could with the space they have. read more

My team and I had a great time at Puttery. The food was awesome and amazing. They were very accommodating. Don't order from the event menu before asking the price. That being said, we had a great time. It was an office event. The GM and the wait staff were so incredible. I plan to have every office event at this place. For those of you who follow me, you know I am very honest about food service. This place is amazing. Again, Make sure you ask about event pricing up front. read more

The Puttery - Washington, DC What a fantastic experience! The food was incredible--huge thanks to Jessica and James in the kitchen for making everything perfect. The lemon pepper wings were honestly the best I've ever had--super meaty with amazing flavor. The pizzas were outstanding too--our table especially loved the Meat Lovers and Pepperoni Jalapeño. We started with the Pretzel Hot Honey appetizer, which was the perfect kickoff. The kids had a blast with the mini golf, and I loved the artwork, atmosphere, and vibe. Great food, great fun, and great people--can't wait to come back! read more

Super fun, great food, good drinks! This place is a really cool gathering place for dates, friends, family or work outings. There's a lot of places to sit and drink, talk or eat. The decorations and themed rooms are really pretty. The service is decent, but the fun from playing mini golf in this super cool, themed escape make up for that. I love that the games are unlimited so you can stop and eat/drink and go back to playing. read more

Review: The Puttery - Penn Quarter, DC I made a reservation for eight 50-somethings for a fun Saturday night out, and the Puttery mostly delivered. What to Know Before You Go Parking We lucked out with metered parking right outside -- a small miracle in Penn Quarter, especially if there's an event at the Verizon Center. There are garages nearby, but be warned: many require your car to be out by 10 p.m. Check the signs carefully for each garage. Check-In Head upstairs to the check-in area where friendly and knowledgeable staff greet you, explain the basics, and hand over your putter. If you're waiting for your group, you can grab a drink at the bar or relax in the cozy lounge tucked around the corner. Game Play We had an unlimited play pass, which seems pretty standard. You choose one of three themed 9-hole courses, enter your names on an iPad, and start playing. The iPads handle scorekeeping, so no need for old-school pencils and scorecards. Each course has a fun theme -- which is charming in theory -- but the hole design itself felt like an afterthought. They weren't particularly clever or challenging, just... clunky. Balls often popped off the course or got stuck behind odd obstacles. It wasn't a huge deal, but it did take away from the fun a bit. Drinks There are two bars, and you can take your drinks with you while you play. Unfortunately, the drinks were wildly inconsistent. My Moscow Mule tasted more like a lime-heavy margarita, and my husband's second Old Fashioned was three times stronger than his first. The bartenders were friendly, but service and mixology skills were hit or miss. Food Here's the surprise of the night: the food was great! Expectations were low (maybe too many memories of soggy pizza at kid birthday parties), but everything we ordered hit the mark. The chicken sandwich, pizzas, and tostadas were all crowd-pleasers. Service here was prompt and professional. Frustrations Our biggest gripe? Finding a ball to start your next course. Too often, the bins were empty, forcing us to wander other courses hoping to borrow a spare. It led to unnecessary delays and long lines -- something nearly every group around us was grumbling about. Bottom Line: The Puttery is a stylish, lively spot for a night out with friends, and we had fun -- but there's room for improvement. Better-designed holes and more consistent service would make this a true hole-in-one. read more

$24 a round for 9 holes. Three courses to choose from, Drinks food and multiple bars. It's a good time...why don't I own one of these...hmm. The service was good, the course was fun but took only 20 minutes to complete. If it were crowded I'm sure it would take longer. No real complaint here..it's just expensive but fun so who cares. The over look and feel of the place is comfortable and fun. I'd come back and likely will!! read more

Visited for a work excursion and had a great time! Here are my thoughts: Environment Very spacious place with options to sit at a table, hang out at the bar and make your way around a few golf courses. They also have a space for large parties and provide catering as well. The energy was upbeat and fun but also a place where you can go to just hang out in a light hearted environment. Great vibes. Service Really loved the servers. They were friendly and made sure our large party had everything we needed. They helped guide us through the event we had scheduled and were kind in a chaotic environment. Food Unfortunately i didn't get a ton of pictures of the food but it was all pretty good. We had chicken wings, small sandwiches, chips and dip - a full spread for a big party. All the food was pretty good. The drinks were good and it was great that you can have drinks while you play as well. They even have drink stations for people to sit their drinks down. Overall Really had a good time and will definitely go back with friends or for a cute date. It was a lot of fun! read more

Is everything ok? Went there this afternoon and the gentleman that was working the front was going through some sort of crisis. It was not busy at all but the waiter / front door gentleman was not professional nor kind. We came in polite and excited to start our experience and we were immediately told to "sit down". No please, no hey welcome folks. The only reason we stayed was because my friend was visiting in town from California. As we sat there and did our best to continue to be kind to the employee, he continued being curt and unprofessional, sometimes to the point of not even answering us. As we sat eating our meal, we watched as a few other customers came in and immediately left after engaging with this gentleman. Upon leaving, I overheard this man telling other customers that they "better not act up because he was security also".... It was a weird experience. I get if you have a bad day here or there, but after being on the food and beverage business for over 10 years and having to take over multiple roles at once at times, you take a day off if you have a bad day in order to not affect the business you work for. But the man at the front with the extremely poor attitude really needs not to work there anymore. read more

Came here for a corporate outing. I chose not to play the mini golf game. However, I did enjoy the food and the atmosphere. There was great pepperoni that was flower shaped. They had olives, and also mini hamburgers. It was spacious for all of our team members to talk to each other. High recommended for a corporate outing/ team building. read more

TERRIBLE experience with the food and drinks last night. Wanted an Old Fashion. Server and bartender didn't know what kind of whiskey they had, then tried to tell me all they had was Wild Turkey. NOBODY only has Wild Turkey. Walked to the bar and saw many different types of whiskey. Ordered the drink, wings and pizza. Server asked to hold a card on file. That's a red flag for me because I've never been to a restaurant anywhere in the world that asked to hold a card on file. Then I found out the Old Fashion was $17. For a bar that didn't know what whiskey they had, I'm DEFINITELY not paying $17 for the drink. They ended up giving it to me on the house. Absolutely the worst Old Fashion I ever had. HUGE lowball glass and very small disproportionally sized ice ball, no cherry, and no orange peel, but had chunks of orange pulp. Clearly they had no idea how to make it. Tasted gross and didn't drink it even though it was free. Wings came out and looked good but were served on a cutting board and DRENCHED in wing sauce. So much so that the sauce was dripping all over the table off the side of the board. Server gave me a handful of dry napkins to clean it myself and it just smeared all over the table. They were also out of celery and carrots. At this point I was turned off and sent the wings back. Son picked up a slice of his pizza and literally 100% of the topping slid right off. First bite was soggy dough. Asked for the check and the math wasn't adding up. Come to find out they automatically charged a 25% tip. Had them remove the tip so I could tip $0. I would absolutely never eat or drink there again. It was the worst experience and they should be ashamed for trying to automatically charge any tip much less a 25% tip. That's 1/4 of the bill. CRAZY! read more

Such a fun place to visit! I am from out of town and my friend took me here. It was not busy considering it was after a hockey game. We had reservations and started playing; they have 3 courses, each with 9 holes of mini golf. The courses themselves are decorated well but the putting is not very difficult. Nonetheless, it is a good time. I love the electronic scorecards too. Afterwards, we got some drinks which were just okay. We got the filet sliders and the hot honey sausage pizza which were both pretty tasty. The entire venue is very cute and service was friendly. read more

First off, the service was great, our bartender was super nice and attentive and gave great recommendations, the food came out fairly quick and was super delicious. We shared the hot honey sausage pizza and it might have been the best pizza I've ever eaten. As far as bar restaurant I give it a 4/5 hands down, only losing some points because the beers were a bit overpriced. The mini golf side I would give 0/5 stars if possible. We booked early 1230, they weren't super busy. I paid $44 for 9 holes of very easy mini golf. I mean a majority of the holes were very straight forward. We didn't really know that for $22 a person we got 9 holes of subpar mini golf where none of the bars were stocked and if we wanted more drinks we had to go back to the main bar. By the 3rd hole, we realized we wasted our money and even taking our time retrying putts and taking pictures we still finished in less than 15 minutes because the course is painfully Easy, and it cost us an extra $20 to play another 9. Because of that we scrapped our plans to hang out there longer and get more drinks, and instead we went down the street to another bar. At peak hours this probably makes sense as I'm sure it gets packed, but there is no reason for an early tee time to pay the outrageous fee for only 9 Holes and no bartenders on the course even though that's a big selling point. I would recommend coming for the food and drink, but save the $22 on the golf, it's simply not worth it, especially before 5pm. I recommend for these early times, give access to all Holes for that cost, or charge a discounted rate, because $22 for 10 minutes or mini golf is insane. I would have given 4/5 stars if either of the above would have occurred. read more

Honestly feel like I wasted so much time and money. Paid for 4 "eat and play" packages. Checked in and sat down to order some food/drinks at 9:40 and food didn't come out until it was about to hit 1030. I had ordered the filet to be medium rare and it came out very well done(oh well happens) continued to just try to eat but even the side Brussels sprouts were just burnt crisps. No flavor other than just burnt. Then we had to get someone's attention and ask about our drinks and they seemed confused. Turned out our server took our orders and then clocked out without telling anyone else. Finally got our drinks when we were finished with our food and went to go start mini golf. We went to two courses and throughout all holes, no employees were found when it came to wanting to place the "course specific" drink orders. My friend and I went to the bar up front(second bar in back and bar in the illusion course were both closed) to just order but there wasn't even anyone there. We waited a bit and then someone eventually noticed and came. Then we get back to our group waiting at the course just to find out they had to give one of our balls to another couple who couldn't find any or even an employee to ask for them from. From this evening we saw a total of maybe 5 max workers and none of which seemed interested in working at all. It even came off as if we were a burden when we had questions. I'm never the type to post negative reviews but this really upset me. I'm not a confrontational person so with every interaction I had a smile and positive attitude using many thank yous-all of which seemed to be unappreciated. I just can't wrap my head around why people take on customer service jobs when they truly don't care/want to do it. It wasn't even like the place was busy! I so badly wanted to just go up and ask for a refund for the 4 eat and play packages before our food even came out but this place gave the vibe that I'd immediately be seen as a "Karen", burden, and annoyance. Just beyond disappointed because I was a huge supporter and always recommended this place when it first opened. Kind of just seems like it's had its run and it's time to close down. read more

Cool concept. DC definitely needs something like this. Cute for date night or out with a group. I won't recommend it as a solo venture unless you plan to just sit at the bar. Parking around here is a mess but tons of garages to ease the headache. I recently came for a birthday celebration. We chose the "Conservatory" course, but it just ended so quickly. Also, I don't feel the price is really worth it. We sat down, and some folks ordered food and drinks. I didn't do any food but had a few fries from someone - they were super salty. Good thing I wasn't hungry. The drinks were ok - not consisently made. I ordered the same cocktail, and every time, it was different. Ugh. I'm glad I experienced it. Hadn't done miniature golf in a while, but I won't be in a hurry to visit again. read more

This place is so fun! We had a great brunch with bottomless bloodys and mimosas followed by a round of putt putt. The place is so much bigger than it seems on the outside. The courses were well laid out and decorated in really cool themes. Would be great for a date night, group outing, or bringing the kids to something fun. Staff was super friendly. read more

My friends and I visited Puttery for the first time. The venue is well decorated and extremely colorful. It was a bit crowded when we went on a Saturday night so prepare for a wait. I also encourage checking in as soon as you arrive. We didn't get a chance to dine in but I did order a cocktail. I tried the Good Sound & Beach Bound. It reminded me of vacation so if you like coconut you'll love it. Location: The location is metro accessible and there are garages near by but ride share and public transit would be best. The actual put-put experience was fun as well. It's great for groups but keep in mind that your pace is dependent on who's in front of you. My group was having too much fun so we contributed to a slight delay. I like the digital score card. It made moving through the holes easy. You can also order drinks at each hole. read more

Update December 2022: I returned for a corporate event and hear me when I say...the FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!! The beef sliders were EXCELLENT as were the chips, guacamole and salsa dips. Again, I couldn't try the meals with cheese in it but I enjoyed my selection enough to give them an updated review. This place is great for a corporate gathering because it fosters team building and fun!!!!!! Original review: Of course my review was left in draft and never posted! Note that I visited this place a few days after their grand opening. Here's my review: I decided to visit after seeing a few postings about it and to experience the indoor fun and decor. I must say that upon arrival the staff was very friendly and did a great job at explaining the course options and how payments would apply. Hmmm I would add here that the cost per person is a little expensive for the length of time one can spend on a course but it is fun and something you can try on a date or with friends. No pictures of food or drinks because I actually didn't enjoy their food selection which was super limited and not lactose intolerant friendly. The drinks were simply okay and nothing to rave about. I truly have to say that this place was just that, cute! And of course the ambiance was perfect for social media!!!! Would I visit again? Absolutely! But it's not something that I would immediately run to. read more

Came to celebrate a friend's birthday. Cute themed concept. The staff were extremely helpful and patient taking the time to explain the game since mini golf was a new experience for some of us. The various themed spaces were really cute and were great opportunities to snap a quick pic with friends. There is also a photographer that takes pics that you can purchase for $20, if interested. We decided to grab a bite to eat after playing a few rounds. Our server, Alexandra, was super sweet. Unfortunately, the quality of the food put a damper on the evening. The ginger ale was watered down. The shareable veggie tostados looked like something you would just make in the kitchen for your toddler. Beware you only get 3 and they are very small for the price - $16. The tropical ceviche was too sweet. The birthday girl ordered the miso salmon. It was underwhelming and tasted like it had just been microwaved. I ordered the poke bowl. It was yucky and I couldn't swallow it. At this point we just wanted to speak to management. Someone else ordered the pizza, but opted not to eat it since we all were clearly ready to leave. Thankfully management comped our meals. We still tipped Alexandra who remained gracious, understanding, and patient. Not her fault the food was lousy. I would have loved to have given this place more stars. So, 1 for ambiance, 1 for service and 1 for Alexandra. That's the best I can do here. read more

Had a great time here after a Caps game. Multiple bar areas that have a swanky vibe from all the fun art and decor. Private rooms were available for groups to hang out in. The courses are 9 holes so it's short and goes by quick. You get three options to choose from. We did the art one because it was the most fun to look at while waiting. Parties are only 4 people so big groups get split up. A few for non alcoholic mocktails. The watermelon aqua Fresca was nice. I came here for a happy hour with some coworkers. The vibes in the bar were super cool and it was easy to navigate the different courses. I've been to other indoor mini golf courses and this one was just ok, I wish they were a little more interactive/larger than life, but I did appreciate the technology for tracking score! The service was also a little slow at the bar (which is expected for such a large group), but the waitstaff was super nice and attentive, and helped us out with our questions. Trendy "adult" mini golf and bar. Cocktails weren't fancy but priced as if they were. Chicken and sliders were pretty average bar food. Chicken had a nice crunch and the potato buns on the sliders went well. Good portion of fries which had a nice touch of salt. The ketchup had an interesting zest to it I've never had before. Not enough employees for a Thursday night. Had to order food at the bar. Only 1 person for working 3 9 hole courses at times and they have to sign you in each time. They use tablets to keep score. Beautiful aesthetics in this unique restaurant. Went for the new-ish Sunday brunch. Definitely an unbelievable deal with 1 entree and unlimited shareables for $30 (unlimited mimosas available separately for $25). Our server, Autumn was wonderful, very personable & I was impressed at how well she knew every dish on the menu. There are still a few kinks to work out with the connection between servers and the kitchen, but rating it 5/5 for its potential, including a killer atmosphere and tasty menu. The pizzas are massive and feed 3-4 easy. I ordered the breakfast pizza & it was the best breakfast pizza I've had. Tangy sauce with a kick, crumbly tender sausage and a delicious aioli on top. I would go back just for that. The poke bowl, apple & brie empanadas & French toast also stood out to me! Looking forward to going back again and playing some mini golf too! read more

This was sooo much fun!!!! We went early on a Friday afternoon when it's not crowded. They claim to provide adults with an immersive experience like no other - I wouldn't go THAT far, but I'd say that it does make for an epic night if you've been groundhog-daying all the past few Fridays. IT's something different for a change, and without kids running around everywhere, it gives a much more hipster and exclusive vibe you won't easily find elsewhere. I remember going to Monster putt and that was such a let down with the screaming kids and forced-fast-pacing. Even the Putt Putt upstairs of Tyson's Capital One building was mehhh compared to Puttery. I actually knew Puttery was coming into DC through a friend who's affiliated with the company and they told me their visit to the other Putterys have been excellent. The price is higher though - for 9 holes, you're paying premium top dollars so don't feel rushed to get through all of them. Enjoy the moment. The score machines are great because it really forces you to get in the competitive zone! They'll come by asking if you need another drink, or halfway through, there's another bar for a quick drink. There's two bars at a minimum in here - the larger one is towards where the scenes are. The front bar is smaller but it's got a friendly bartender. There's a LOT of employees at this joint, so you won't feel stranded if you don't know what you're doing. We chose to go through the Alice in Wonderland theme, and that seems to be the most popular choice, but I'm ready to try out all the other ones! read more

I love mini-golf and Puttery is a disgrace to the game. I visited recently and played the Illusion course. All of the three courses cost $22/person to play. I was looking forward to some trippy decor, lots of classic illusions, and creative holes -- Puttery had none of this. There are hundreds of famous, classic illusions Puttery could have used in their decor, but nope, there are just some painted walls and a few props that might vaguely remind you of illusions. BORING. The course design is terrible. All of the holes are short with very few interesting or interactive elements. One of the holes is literally a straight putt about 5 feet long, like you'd see on a putting green. LAME. I did not eat or drink at Puttery. After getting ripped off by the mini-golf, I had no desire to spend more time and money there. Beers are an outrageous $7-$8.5 and cocktails start at $16. Positives: I liked the decor in the main bar and the natural light from the windows. The touch screen scorecard at each hole worked pretty well. I visited Swingers Mini-Golf recently and I would recommend them over Puttery, although they are also ridiculously expensive. read more

highlights: visually really fun putt putt courses. Holes could have been a little more creative. Definitely built for adults (I think you have to even be 21+ to enter). Drinks are good with a bar before you enter and a bar after the course. You're even allowed to walk with your drinks during the putting! Came here as a night out with the boys. It was one of my homies birthdays and we thought this might be fun for a group. I think you can have up to 6-8 players which is really nice, but we had 4. We were offered three courses: the art museum, conservatory, and illusion. We ultimately chose the art museum as the staff member in front told us it's the best one for competitive players. We took a couple round of drinks and headed in. The course itself was beautiful-- a play on big name artists and famous paintings, such as Andy Warhol. Honestly, it's perfect for content creators or just anyone who likes cool insta pics. Afterwards, we got one last round of drinks, and I sadly had to pay as I had gotten last :( Anyway, definitely had a blast. My only complaint is that the courses themselves were pretty easy and kind of short. A great place for a date night or a short group outing as well. read more

I've been wanting to try the new indoor golf spots and had an opportunity to try Puttery on a Sunday afternoon. The place was rather empty. A few folks were sitting at the bar. The space itself is cute. Different bars and areas to sit and lounge. I think only two courses were open at the time and we asked for the more popular one. Can't remember the name of the course but it was meh. The actual playing area was rather small and the course layout was basic. The entire golf experience may have been 10 minutes...and that's being generous. Maybe it was so quick because it was empty and there was no one in front of us. And they allowed another couple to go right behind us so we were rushing since they were waiting for us at each hole. It would be be nice to space things out more especially since the place wasn't busy. It's cool that you can keep score on a tablet that follows you around each hole. A server came around at the beginning of golfing and asked for our drink orders. She made some drink suggestions. I can't remember what we got but my friend enjoyed hers and I sent mine back because it was not drinkable. They were willing to fix it but I declined. We both left disappointed in the experience overall. Highlights... Puttery has nice looking lounge areas. There are plenty of cute chill spots. Would probably come back just to hang in the lounges; if that is allowed. And the service we received was top notch! Everyone was friendly and helpful. read more

I wish I could remember their names, but the front 3-4 staff members at the front check in desk were AMAZING!!!!! They were fun, interactive and so very helpful. Because this is a new spot I do recommend making a reservation. When we all arrived for our reservation earlier in the day, there was no line or wait, upon leaving, the line was out the door!!! Totally expected for a new, hot, hip, and aesthetically great laid out bar, lounge and golf establishment. The front desk staff recommended the mean machine drink from the bar and it was so yummy!!!!!!!!!! It's pretty easy to throw them back, so be careful, they will creep up on you. Out of the 3 courses that you could choose from, we all chose the Art Gallery!!!! Very picture worthy course. The staff were all amazing at his course!!! In fact every staff member I encountered, were VERY HOSPITABLE!!!!!!!!! Before I forget their names, I had amazing service from Lou the bartender, Faith and Nae. My only issue is that it seem like the course was rather short, but the 2nd bar and lounge area made up for that. Glad to have been one of the first to visit this new spot!!!!! I absolutely recommend this spot!!!! read more

In the former NoPa Restaurant and Bar space is a new venue, Puttery. It's huge, has a great vibe and decor and will definitely become a popular spot for both day and night entertainment. I visited on a Saturday at 1:30pm for mini golf. You make and pay for reservations online ahead of time where you select a 90 minute window (the website advertised $18/pp per tee time, but it was actually $22), then upon arrival you select a tee time to play 9 holes (mine took about 35 minutes) and a course. You're welcome to walk through the other courses because they are all picture-worthy. This was my first time playing putt-putt and it was fun! The only negative with my experience was that the couple right behind my party kept having to wait for my group. Not sure if that's because we were slow, they were fast, or there's not enough time in between tee times (they are every 5 minutes). It wasn't crowded at all at the time I went, but I can imagine how annoying that might be if it is crowded. It can make you feel like you have to rush. I didn't order any food or drink from the menu, but there were plenty of cute places to sit and enjoy. I would definitely return. This would be a fun place for any type of outing (friends, families, date, corporate function, etc). read more

We decided to host my baby shower at The Puttery. We were assured multiple times it was wheelchair accessible and it said so in the contract. I asked repeatedly during the event. But when my friend in a power chair showed up, staff claimed they didn't know where the elevator was, didn't know where the key was, had to call someone offsite... I waited outside in the cold with my friend for over 45 minutes, missing about a third of the three hours we booked for the baby shower. At one point staff offered to carry my friend up the stairs, which is impossible because he's in a 500 pound power wheelchair and is also an adult and weighs an adult amount of weight himself. It's also insulting and directly counter to what I any my mother were repeatedly told. This has ruined my baby shower. I am furious and will be making a complaint to the city. I do not recommend this venue -- Even if you don't use a wheelchair, the amount of being told "it's fine" when it wasn't fine, they weren't prepared at all in any way despite multiple checkins, staff took zero responsibility. One guy at the end *almost* took responsibility, but wanted a cookie because he came in on his day off to let my baby shower guest into the venue we were repeatedly assured was wheelchair accessible and which this Yelp page claims is wheelchair accessible. Just completely unacceptable and does not bode well for a number of other issues that might arise. read more

Came for a round of miniature golf. It was actually fun. There are three different 9-hole courses to choose from. Puttery is very spacious, I love the decor, the staff here are friendly and helpful. The music was not that great, but overall, I had a positive experience. read more
