Founded in 2018 by Nicholas Cornford and Brian Zabian, through trial and error, they perfected their one-of-a-kind donut experience... a mix of music, vibrant visuals, personal customer service, fresh-to-order products, and memorable donut names. 5 Stars is NOT enough! We got married today a block away, just something small with the plan to celebrate with family later. Went for coffee in the same plaza & noticed Purvé. I went in & asked if there was any chance of getting a wedding-esque surprise donut. The owner I believe (Nick) made us 2 donuts personally, went above & beyond with the presentation, then completely comped them! I was honestly blown away. That level of kindness is rare, & it meant more to us than I can even explain. The donuts? DELICIOUS!! Fresh, beautiful, and absolutely one of the best batters I have ever had. Literally couldn't have asked for better. The whole experience was effortless, thoughtful, & unforgettable. Came here after zippys and it it the spot for me. My first time but our friends have been here before. I got the chocolate mint, the donut itself was warm freshly made. I loved the texture and the taste of the donut. The mint wasn't too minted but it didn't bother me I enjoyed it very much. It was yummy yum yum. The lemon one was alittle tart just the way my friend likes it. The Mac but and chocolate one was delicious eat it right away we drive home and even though it. Was 10 minutes up the hill the chocolate melted a bit and not thick looking like the display sample. Either way it wasn't pretty but tasted yummy. I'll be back for sure. read more

Love coming to this place after having my poke bowl from Foodland. The staff is always so nice. When we bring our group of friends and dogs, they will always come outside to give us plain donuts for the dogs. I am typically not a fan of cake-like donuts, but these are really good. I like any of their donuts that have the lemon glaze on it (Unicorn butt sneeze is so good)! They are always made fresh and I suggest eating it right when you get them. read more

Love the texture of the donuts and they have such fun donut names. My favorite donuts are 'You're Killing Me, Smalls' (a s'mores flavored donut) and 'Umpa Lumpa Moist Dreamsicle' (an orange glaze with cream cheese donut). They definitely have a marketing expert on the team because how can you go wrong with donuts mixed with a unicorn motif and Dirty, suggestive names for the product?! Probably not a place to bring your kids who ask a lot of questions about what things mean, but this is a great donut Shop for adults. If you do have to buy your kids donuts, don't bring them in the store. They had quite the selection, and although it is all cake donuts, they were very light and fluffy like a yeast doughnut would be. What a treat for both the eyes and tastebuds! I'm a big fan of doughnuts, but only in very specific situations. Only glazed doughnuts from the grocery store, only old fashioned doughnuts from a coffee shop, and only warm, frosted cake doughnuts from Pruve. I tried the apple pie doughnut and the AlohaMac (chocolate glaze topped with hazelnuts and caramel), both which were fresh from the oven and still soft, gooey, and melt in your mouth delicious. I and my husband were around here and just curious this place, then got inside. It was very different image what I had for donuts store. They make their donuts after taking customer's order, so it takes a time but always get fresh made donuts! The owner is friendly and kind, we enjoyed choosing which we order and waiting our order were making. There are order sheets and pens, you can see the picture on the menu and also donuts samples on the counter. You just mark on the order sheet and give it at the order counter. In the store, cute and pop painting on the wall and it's so fan to watch how our donuts are made! (Anyway, their donuts are not yeast donuts, and I'm not fan of the yeast donuts, so that point also I want to give them more star!) There was big order before us, so during waiting the owner gave us a sample donut that just fried,,,, it was hot but not greasy, very light and soooo good! I don't remember the names but I got the daily special one which was coconut and pineapple, a lemony graham cracker one, and the smores one, which was blow torched! I have had a violent craving for donuts.. BUT not just any donut.. a hot freshly made one at Purvè! I don't get to come to Kahala a whole lot but when I do I have to make a stop to pick up my favorites. Everyone has their favorite donut spot but if you learn one thing from me today it's to go try Purvè if have not already. There is something for everyone here! Not a donut person? You should try these anyways if not order a coffee! The Kona Mocha Freeze is an upgraded version of a frappe or frozen hot chocolate you'd find at your fast chained coffee shops. The Kona coffee flavor is NOT watered down & I would usually say no whip in a frozen drink but this whipped cream is the REAL DEAL not the stuff you find from a can. The usuals you will always find in my box of donuts is Hulk Smash, Unicorn Butt Sneeze & Smurf Balls. If I had to pick one donut I'd say Smurf Balls if my top favorite. My husband isn't a huge mint fan but he will always snag a Hulk Smash donut from here. When you walk in, you a greeted by the bright, colorful high ceilings with funny murals of their donut flavors with personality. Service is always so welcoming & I love that we can see the donuts being made fresh while we wait. I usually do a mobile order bc by the time I'm parking I want them in my hand already lol. I need to slow my roll because I always forget you can get these with ice cream "Unicorn Milk Bombs" with the best ice cream on island - Dave's Ice Cream! Firstly, is it doughnut or donut? Purvé calls it donut, so I will utilize that term for my review. Secondly, donuts are not something that I usually purchase. They are just there...at work...at a party. And since Purvé's mascot is a unicorn, I will say the magical unicorn dust brings them. I finally visited Purvé Donut Shop at the Kuono Marketplace in Kahala. No donuts for me in months, so on a whim...decided to treat myself. It is a big space and there is some counter seating for eating in. The yeast donuts are made fresh; glazed and sprinkled to order. There are unique flavor combinations and they are named and described in a humorous way. The owners must be local and loco. They have a special "D" of the day. This was on the list to try, so we dropped in for dessert around 7:30 pm on a Monday. When we got there, one of the staff members popped about and asked if we'd been there before. She was super nice, gave us the low-down, and handed us a menu and a marker so we could write down our order. The menu is hilarious! With donut names like "Your Killin Me Smalls" and "O Face", I tried to keep a straight face when reading the descriptions to my kids. Naturally, they wanted to try the "Unicorn Butt Sneeze", so we added it to the list. The shop is super clean and has an open kitchen so you can see the magic happen! At Purve, you can design your own donut topping or select a themed donut from a selection of fun options. The donuts are made right before your eyes! Cake batter falls in to hot oil and then flips until golden brown. It is fun for kids to see how donuts are made. Donut options are on a card with options to select your own toppings. I selected the "You're Killing Me Smalls" which is their version of a s'mores donut. Donuts run about $3.60 and breakfast sandwich donuts run more. The donuts are about 10-12 minutes to fry and have topping added. The You're Killing Me Small was sooooo fresh. It was still hot! The thin layer of chocolate is sprinkled with a little graham cracker and then topped with a dollop of melted creamy marshmallow. The donut was delicious. They also serve local Kai coffee. The shop is in a small strip mall. Parking is difficult if you go later in the day, but early, spaces are easy to grab. There are a couple tables to eat inside. He was so friendly and helpful walking us through their fun and creative menu, and even shared some amazing local tips that made our trip even better. Now, the donuts...WOW. Next level delicious! Located on Waialae, Purve is a unique donut shop with a creative assortment of flavors! I had never heard of any of these types of donuts before stopping at Purve. While the stop itself is not huge, it was clean and efficient. There was some seating but a limited amount. We got half a dozen and tried some of their more popular types. While they were all neat to try and worth the try, they were a bit too sweet for us. We were wanting some sweets but it was a bit too much for us. However, we thought they were overall pretty good. The donuts were pricier than a typical donut we might get but with all of the stuff on them, it was to be expected. On the table, they have their 12 donut styles plus 2 weekly specials on display. They each are unique in their designs and flavors. Their generous offer enabled me to select three donuts. Looking over the descriptions, we decided on: Na-Na-Nut Buster - Haupia glazed lei'd with mac nuts and chocolate banana drizzle. Jimbo - cinnamon sugar pounded into caramel apple pit. Weekly D - pandan glaze, coconut flakes and ube drizzle. After ordering, you can watch the worker make the batter, put it into the hopper, see the donuts drop into the oil and go through the cooking process. The worker takes the donut and decorates it according to your selection and boxes it up for you. The donuts were delicious and loved the flavors for the ones we selected. These donuts are fluffy, bite-size, and not overly sweet! They make it fresh in store and are always so nice about recommendations and helping to decide which flavor to taste/get. The coffee was really good, as well! The store is really quirky, and has a cute photo backdrop painted on their wall. It honestly matches their brand perfectly. We try to come here and support their business as much as we can. We have been to purve near Alamoana, but first time to this one in Kahala after having dinner in the area! Place is clean and the donuts are made fresh and are always delicious! The service was fast and friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in! Keep up the great service! read more
