I stayed in Waikiki for about a week along with my traveling party around the corner from Donut King, so this place was not only incredibly convenient to where we stayed but also was a nice change of pace from waiting in line at Kona Coffee Purveyors across the street in the mall (and quite frankly, we picked up from Donut King 6/7 of the days we were there not only because of that line, but because it was just that dang good) They have your typical donut fare such as old fashioned, glazed, chocolate, etc., as well as some fun local additions such as a pineapple glazed donut and a ube coconut glazed, even croissant bites. We tried just about everything on the menu and not only was every bite of food incredibly fresh, but it was made well and consistently delicious each day we had it. The coffee was also very good, and the addition of the macadamia nut syrup enhanced the donut shop style blend very well. The staff was also very friendly, and very quick with getting orders together including getting coffee out and breakfast sandwiches (not pictured but one person in my travel party did get a sausage and egg croissant sandwich, which they said was very tasty). All in all, a great change of pace if you're looking for fresh, consistent and delicious donuts with a side of great service (it's also right down the street from a GORGEOUS spot that you can then bring your donuts and coffee and enjoy. Highly recommend) P.S.: I've seen some reviews saying they had a line when they visited, however that was not my experience on this trip. This place DESERVES to have a line every day, I would say run, don't walk here because it's that good. read more

We always make it a point to stop here for breakfast whenever we visit Waikiki, and it never disappoints. Their donuts are absolute perfection. Incredibly soft and fluffy and as a massive ube fan, the ube donut was a total must try that completely lived up to expectations. The croissant sandwiches are also delicious and very filling, though we did notice a mild, slightly inconsistent yeast flavor across the two we bought, with one being a bit more pronounced than the other. I stopped by here yesterday morning with my dad for a morning snack. We were staying in a hotel nearby and had walked by Donut King Waikiki a number of times, and their donuts always looked great. So on this morning, when we had some free time, we decided to stop. The shop itself is rather small, with a couple of large display cases filled with donuts and a few small tables tucked into the corner. For my pastry on this morning, I chose the coconut croissant donut. From the time I stood in line until I was out the door was less than 5 minutes. My donut here ended up being quite good as it was light and you could really see the lamination in it. The coconut flakes on top added a nice flavor. The sticky glaze was fantastic as it reminded me of caramel and helped keep the coconut from falling off. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Took my son to this location to check it out while we are staying in Waikiki. On the outside emits the glitz and glamour of Waikiki. It has that classic old school donut shop feel, both inside and outside, which is great. We ordered a variety of donuts and can say that each one was great. All were very, very soft and fluffy and flavorful. I ordered a croissant donut to try out even though I'm not a huge fan of croissants and that was very flavorful, had an excellent texture, and was uniquely different than the other donuts. I wanted some fresh and tasty bakery treats before I wrapped up my week of vacation in Hawaii. Any donut store with a line in the morning is worth having a look, right? Even if you're in Hawaii, there's no reason to assume that donuts should not be the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast. During our recent trip to Waikiki, we set out on foot with the sun to see what we could see. The quixotic blend of homelessness in front of the Fendi store really drove home the duality of this place. But that's also a different review... As for Donut King, he may well be the actual Monarch of Fried Dough. A delectable selection of fresh donuts, still warm inside on a couple of them, and melt-in-your-mouth soft. My usual chocolate old fashioned was particularly good here... is that a hint of coconut oil? Or did I just have a little Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen on my fingers before I ate? No one knows. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. What does matter is that this place is a cool little donut shop that made me feel like a local when I walked in. Service with a smile, regular ol' donut prices instead of weird designer pastry mark-ups, and plenty of Aloha. It's New Years 2026. We are doing a staycation and checking out Waikiki. I love the donuts here at donut King..... but today was disappointing because there's a big horse fly in the case that holds the doughnuts. I was thinking I would move to the next case of donuts. However, that case did not have a door in the back either. I think it would be great if they had doors that protected the donuts from bugs. Sad to say we left without donuts.... Definitely the big fly ruined it for us. Please add closure in the doughnut case. The person at the shop was friendly. She did say there weren't any more (fly free) doughnuts in the back. The donut holes are the star of the show here. I guarantee you've never had one so light and fluffy - like little pillows from heaven. Perfect level of sweetness. I got a dozen to share with my family and could have eaten all twelve myself. Cappuccino is also amazing. Regular yeast donuts are also great (had the glazed and chocolate iced yesterday). Skinny store front, it was surprisingly difficult to crowd inside when someone was already waiting to order. They hear a large selection for coming in the evening and the worker was very nice. We ordered some glazed donut holes which were the biggest disappointment as they lacked glaze and largely just tasted like fried bread. We also tried a croissant donut and an old fashioned. But thanks to Kona Coffee Purveyors across the street being so packed I decided to bend the knee to the King. We walked by it so many times and it just looked like a standard boring donut shop. Nothing spectacular on the exterior, no huge lines, no influencers recording and photo taking, just an average donut shop. But Donut King did not disappoint--the donuts had the perfect fluff and softness. They were really tasty donuts. What caught be off guard a bit was their croissant bites. Thought at first they were just small mini croissants but they're also glazed. Something definitely different about it--it was just really tasty overall. This place was across the street from my hotel and had maybe 5 people in line and a bunch of accolades in the window. I'm not a big fan of donuts. With that being said I never knew how good the donuts from the Donut King are. Their donuts are light, airy and not overly sweet. I've been to their Market City location maybe two to three times. I've been to this location twice and like it better here. This is the only location where they sell mochi donuts $3.80. They're so good and have the right amount of chewiness to it. I got the Biscoff one and it was so good. I also like the croissant bites $3.95 for 6/$6.95 for 12 and glazed donut holes $2.95 for 6/$5.50 for 12. They also have this donut mural where you can take a selfie. It's a great photo op for social media. As with everywhere else in Waikiki, there's no parking. Good luck finding a space. read more
