Their tent is tucked right in front of Local I'a, in the little driveway behind Local General Store, it's a little easy to miss, but absolutely worth finding. We showed up right before closing at 1:55 pm and decided to try all the flavors they had left. We got one of each: pandan jasmine, hibiscus, and almond cherry berry. Every single one was incredible. The donuts are light and fluffy, and the flavors are bold, unique, and really well balanced. Service was friendly and really quick! Little vessels is a small operation on 9th Ave behind Mud Hen Water. They offer whatever flavors are available for the day. What's unique about them is they are vegan and use coconut oil. I love the lightness of these donuts! Light and tasty, about $5 each. My friend surprised me with butterfly pea, strawberry, likiko'i and a half matcha, half ube. Matcha and Liliko'i were my favorites. Parking can be an issue but usually may be found on street. There are a couple of stalls in the parking area where their folding table is set up. It's amazing it's slay it's great. No other words except to go here. Definitely my favorite donuts to get on-island. Their serving size is huge and their flavors are so unique. I always try to stop by when I have time and catch them before they close ;P such a hidden gem and I love how it's hidden in the back of Mud Hen Water - I feel like I'm exploring hidden terrain LOL. These are the BEST donuts we've ever had! And vegan on top of that!! It checks all the yummy categories. They sell out fairly quickly; only being open a couple days a week. And being a decent drive from the west side, we have to plan our pickups... much earlier than we're used to! Soooo worth it. Super small shop operating from a small parking lot. We got there just a little before they opened at 10am on Saturday and there was already a line! In total it took us about 40 mins to wait, order, and receive our donuts. While waiting we were near a dumpster so it was a little smelly. We opted for a box of 4 where you get a $1 discount. We got peach cobbler, lemon curd, pistachio, and watermelon lime. These donuts were huge and the pistachio one was the best. The peach cobbler was a little too sweet for my liking. Overall the donuts are really good but just a little expensive at $4-5 per donut. I would probably come here every so often maybe when the line is shorter. read more

The best donuts by far and it's vegan! The hours are limited, so make sure to check Yelp for their hours and days open. Located behind Mud Hen Water in Kaimuki. There was several parking spots available. There's also street parking. The stand has samples of the donuts available. Some were sold out, bur for the most part, there was an ample selection. OMG some of the best donuts I've had on-island. The donuts were super fluffy & the flavors were on-point! The donuts were also very substantial. I loved the apple fritter & the apple cider donut (perfect for fall). It isn't a brick and mortar - you order from a little stand/table outside and they bring the order to you. The parking is a bit tight and small so that's the one issue. Still, totally worth it! Just to note - the donuts are a vanilla/plain dough with the flavors mostly in the frosting/toppings. Hands down, the best vegan donuts I've had on island. The flavors are so unique and esthetically pleasing to the eye. If you're not going to consume them immediately, I would recommend putting them in an airtight container so that they don't dry out. Located in the heart of Waialae, follow their Instagram page for hours and daily flavors. And when looking for their pop-up, look for signage on 9th Ave to lead you to where you need to go. I try to post reviews for places when I have pictures, and unfortunately I don't have any for Little Vessels, but don't let that hold you back, this spot is worth a visit or five! Think about it: their offerings are so delicious, I couldn't even be bothered to take proper pictures... My dad loved donuts. One of his first jobs was for this donut chain in California, Wenchell's Donuts, and since then he's always loved donuts and that affinity for these fluffy, yeasty treats was passed on to me. We've shared donuts all over the place, and the both of us could be pretty particular about our favorites; we both think cake donuts are okay, but greatly prefer these fluffy, fried, classic variety. A good glaze is nice, but too much toppings can be a turnoff. He's no longer with us, but I'd put money on the certainty that he would love the donuts here, and they'd probably be his favorite donuts on island, just as they are for me. The classic vanilla glaze is a great baseline: uncomplicated, well-balanced, light on the palate but with a good chew. Their other flavors are interesting and can hit just the right spot. My mom adores their cranberry-calamansi (as did I, but she expressly looks for that flavor when we stop by now), and the brown butter sage was an eye-opening treat that had just the right balance of sweet, herbaceous, and bright to it. We tried this carrot cake fritter a few days ago, and that thing was both classic and yet new and unfamiliar all at once. The staff has always been warm and friendly too! Definitely make us feel welcome and are a pleasure to engage in small talk with. It's a little stand so no place to sit and enjoy the donuts, which is the only thing that I find lacking, but it's also not what they are. I'd heard about these donuts for a while through the virtual grapevine but never had the occasion - or craving - to get to Kaimuki for them. Mahalo to Peter Y who came by Mud Hen Water and dropped off a trio of donuts from their cart in the back parking lot. These are really good yeast donuts, soft and pillowy with creative icing flavors. We got Pineapple Li Hing Mui (my fave of the three), Watermelon Mint, and Lemon Black Sesame. If I lived in the neighborhood this would be definitely my go-to. If you're not, free parking is going to be a challenge. There are about five spots in the parking lot in back of Mud Hen Water, which is where the donut stand is located. I'm not picky about my donuts, so I'll probably get donuts where it's most convenient. read more

This Sunday morning, I saw my Yelp friend, rachelle t., check in on her Yelp app. I wondered what Little Vessels Donuts was about and quickly read reviews and looked at photos. I drove over right after church and arrived after 11am. I found free street parking nearby. Located on the corner of Waialae Avenue and 8th Avenue (in the parking lot behind Mud Hen Water), I was happy to see that there was no line, but there were a few customers waiting for their orders. I went straight to the young man at the tablet and told him that I didn't pre-order. He said that no preorder is necessary - only need to order on Mondays. Whew! He then informed me that they were sold out of fritters and donut holes. That's ok, because I wanted a Flight! I took the box home and shared the donuts with my family. They enjoyed this treat! The donuts were EXCELLENT! They were decorated beautifully with Halloween themes. Each creation was light, fluffy, not too sweet and delicious! Found this place after seeing the long line spilling onto Waialae Avenue, and was delighted to discover these delicious, light-as-air donuts! Learned the fritters and donut holes are popular as is the ube donut so I still happily chose a chocolate lilikoi glazed donut while eye-balling the other choices. No eggs or dairy in this baby, the binder is aquafaba. The dark chocolate glaze was not overly sweet with a hint of the tart lilikoi.
