When I married my husband, I told him straight up that I would not be ironing for him. Like ever. I didn't even iron my wedding dress. No joke. Worried I'd burn through it lol. This wasn't a worry, we never thought he'd be corporate or anything. Well here we are, husband wears slacks and a button down shirt daily, and sometimes a suit or jacket - and I've kept my promise. Hell no, I won't be ironing your clothes. I only own an iron because we have kids and they used to make things out of perler beads, which I would then melt together with the iron. I don't even want to take a Santa Claus bag of dirty clothes to the cleaner, and then days later, drive back, stand in line, pick the clean ironed hung clothes up, bend over in a weird way to try to get it to hang on that hook inside of the car's back seat. Plus it only would hold like 4 hangers, so I'd have to go to the cleaners multiple times a week? Nope. So years ago I signed up with Purple Tie to come get the clothes off of my doorstep and then deliver the next day, clean, pressed, perfect, and hung. Lovely. The only work I have to do is try to close the door with my foot as carry the cleaned clothing with both arms (because I tend to wait to long to place an order lol) to the closet in the back bedroom. I quickly hang then unwrap the clothing (plastic is recyclable through Ridwell) and space it nicely and step back and beam - I didn't have to wash iron hang and the closet is full again anyway. Perfection! I LOVE Purple Tie. You should too. You should definitely try them - put that iron away, get it out only for kid crafts! Sometimes I feel sad for the iron - but it has no feelings - and Purple Tie is much better!

    DO NOT DRYCLEAN

Absolutely ridiculous - I use the wash and fold service, which being offered @ work is supposed to help make our lives easier and alleviate the little things we'd rather not spend our free time doing. I don't know who they hire but they must not have common sense and/or cannot read. They dry cleaned a pair of $5-10 Everlast boxing/sweats that I lounge at home in, a pair of $10 Uniqlo pants that specifically say DO NOT DRYCLEAN, and a pair of $10 Uniqlo jeggings ....... um I'm not gonna pay $7.99/pair for dry cleaning wtf?! Just awful. Edit: holy shit, just read other reviews and didn't even realize their fucking dry clean labels were seared fucking on, wtf?!?!????!?!!!!??!?! Who does this shit? I don't want this rubbing against me UGH thank goodness it's only one of my pants. Also, they say they provide laundry bags to save plastic but then saranwrap the wash and fold a bajillion times Great job guys

Bottom is Purple Tie's work compared to another tailor that charges only $8 for hemming pants w/o original hem.

I think I'll stick to these guys for dry cleaning, because while expensive and annoying that they put a barcode sticker, they conveniently pick-up from where I work. There's a magic purple closet at my workplace that transports your clothes to this location to be worked on... and a few days later, it'll re-appear clean and new. However, for hemming, I'll go elsewhere. Of the 3 hems I've gotten from here, their quality has been pretty inconsistent. The first hem job cost me $14 on a pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans, not asking to keep the original hem. The stitching can be compared in the pictures, where I compare them to another business that charged me $8 w/o the original hem for a pair of 7 For All Mankind... and did a way better job and keeping a clean stitch. You can hardly tell there was a stitch at all! Even the back stitch is better than Purple Tie! I was also bothered by how Purple Tie didn't put a lot of effort into ironing out the fold, since it rumples. I'm not sure what the other business did if they just ironed the pants A LOT, but there is hardly any scrunching in the fold. Oh well, I only sacrificed one pair of CoH jeans... The 2nd order I used a Yelp Deal - figuring it would cost me $14 per jeans like the last order. Despite specifying I didn't want the original hem... they still kept the original hem insisting it would look better (this was after I inquired.) Thus, each pair of jeans cost me $20 to hem... ouch. My Calvin Klein jeans hem turned out OK, though the stitching wasn't as straight as the other place I went to. However... my other pair (Hollister)... the bottom of the actual jeans had never actually been worn out with loose threads. After hemming it, it seemed like the stitch job stretched the fabric so now it looks like the bottom of my jeans is wearing out. I'll update this post later with photos to explain the phenomenon, but I was not happy with being charged $20 each for a lackluster hem job. I guess one of the advantages of paying for a hem job, however, is that they do clean your pants after hemming them, so they're ready to wear once you receive them. They get some points back for their customer service - after calling to ask about why my hem job cost so much, they explained to me about how they insisted on keeping the original hem, thus it was more expensive. Since I was expecting to be charged $14 per pair of jeans, they offered a $10 credit on my account which I have yet to used. So while they are convenient, I'd still rather drive to the other place to get my jeans hemmed. But I'm sure they're dry cleaning services here are decent (have yet to actually try them out, but I've gotta use that $10 credit somehow!).

Not the same place it used to be…read more I came here years ago when they first opened--probably over a decade ago--and they were great back then. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. I recently dropped off a blazer for two things: 1. Sleeve and collar repairs (to fix broken stitching) 2. Dry cleaning They called me to clarify the alterations and said they could fix the sleeve, but the seamstress "doesn't like to do collar work." That should've been my red flag, but I let them go ahead with the sleeve. When I came to pick it up, I pointed out that the stitching looked awful--completely unprofessional. It was a sloppy hand stitch, and they claimed it was "reinforced." I've included a photo so you can judge for yourself: the left side shows the original factory stitching and the right side is their work. Not even close. I was quoted $18 but charged $15, so I assumed they at least did the dry cleaning and maybe knocked a few bucks off. But when I got it home, it still looked dirty. I called to ask if it had even been cleaned, and that's when they told me the ticket only said alterations. That was never the agreement--I was clear when I dropped it off that I wanted both. In the end, I paid $15 for work that now needs to be redone, and I still need to get it dry cleaned somewhere else. I let them know I'd be writing a review because this was frustrating, disappointing, and just not worth it. It's a shame because they used to be better. I won't be back. _________ Let me clarify a few things in response to Eric's reply: First, price was never the issue. When I dropped off the blazer, I was given an estimate for both the collar and sleeve repair. I was told the collar might not be worth fixing due to cost, and that the seamstress would need to confirm pricing. I never declined the service to "avoid the cost," nor did I say I'd fix it myself--I was waiting for a quote that never came. Second, there was no hole in the armpit area. There were two areas in the collar that needed repair, and loose stitching on the sleeve that needed reinforcing. These were clearly pointed out during drop-off. Third, I didn't ask for a discount. I voiced my concern about the quality of the sleeve repair when I picked it up--it was poorly hand-stitched and clearly not professional. The employee then went to the back, made a phone call, and returned to charge me $15. That price reduction was your team's decision--not mine. I also requested dry cleaning when I dropped the blazer off. That part of my request was ignored. When I called to ask about it, I was told the ticket only said "alterations." So somewhere between drop-off, alterations, and pick-up, there was clearly a breakdown in communication--either between the front desk, the seamstress, or management. And for the record, I didn't "threaten" a bad review. I said I would be writing an honest one, and I did. The photos I posted clearly show that the stitching was not done to a professional standard. That's not an opinion--it's visible. Instead of trying to discredit my experience or twist the facts, I suggest taking this feedback seriously. I was a returning customer from years ago and gave your business a chance. But this visit was disappointing and frustrating. The defensiveness in your response only confirms how little accountability you're willing to take.

I really loved this place and gave over $500 to them in just a year and half of business…read more Unfortunately they damaged a skirt and would not help me find a remedy. They offered me $10 credit which felt like I am not valued here. I love to support local business so this was really disappointing. It was a brand new skirt I brought in and never got the chance to wear it. Up until this point all the work had been excellent and it is close to my home so I am disappointed to have to find another place to go to. I went in with good faith to explore options in restoring trust with the business relationship because I wanted to continue coming here. I didn't ask for a refund. I didn't ask for cash back. I asked for a credit or gift card on my account for some amount. Eric the manager (and maybe owner) said all he could do was $10 because "the skirt is still wearable and the damage is not noticeable." He said if he gave me $50 then he would own the skirt. I took the skirt back in on 1/21 because I noticed the damage on 1/20. The young man behind the counter said a manager would call me. I called on 1/27 to follow up because I had not heard anything. I spoke to the woman who handles the dry cleaning directly and she was very rude. She told me she cleaned it herself and used those pins. She told me I was the only one who ever complained which looking at the reviews is not true. I told her I was just following up because I had not heard anything from them. I asked when the manager would be in so I could go in and speak to them since that was what they said were next steps. I went on 1/30 and had the interaction with Eric. When he returned the skirt to me it was in a pants clip hanger and not safety pinned which I'm not sure why it was not originally handled this way. I was never offered an apology. Instead I was patronized and mocked. Unfortunately throughout this process I felt belittled and disrespected. It felt really bad. I won't be coming here again. Updating this review because the owner replied: there is not a consistent policy because when I went in Eric said "I can do 5 percent" and then said "okay 10 percent". "Okay so what would you like". So there does not seem to be a policy that is consistent with everyone since he was making it up and changing on the spot. Even in their reply on yelp and google no apology or accountability was provided. A $20-$25 credit to someone's account would come out to 1-2 free items to be cleaned. Which for someone like me who spends $75-$225 every time I come here felt reasonable.

I am very short and therefore all my pants are constantly too long. This visit, I brought sarah 5 pairs of pants, 4 of which were objectively difficult to hem; two super wide legged pants (one linen and one pleated suit pants), 2 made of this weird thick satin. The last pair was a front pleat cargo pant type dress pant. The way she hems is flawless. It's incredible how I cannot see the hem from the outside of the pant. I can see it's been done on the inside but on the outside you can't see the stitches at all even on very thin fabric. These 5 pairs were a very fair price! 14-18$ depending on the fabric and cut of each pant. I called before my visit because in order to tailor pants you need to try them on and have them pinned at the right length-- this takes time if you need to do it 5x in a row. So I called on a Monday and asked when would be a good time for me to come in Tuesday? She gave me a good time and when I walked in I was seen immediately. Took about 30 mins to do all the pinning. She said come pick them up in two weeks. At the exact two week point she called to let me know that the pants were done. Everything fits perfectly!!
