Today I had Joel come over to change the filter candles for the drinking water filter system. Work Order# 509276. He kept complaining that the space was small and I am watching him so he is not able to do the job. In the process, instead of replacing the old candle with the new one, he got confused and was about to fix the old one back! Thankfully I noticed and told him! What if I didn't notice! So people be aware, when you have someone come over to do such jobs. On the way back he looked at the water softener- Terminator iGen. He didn't know how the system works. He looked at the gallons remaining for the next cycle which was 500 and said we have to change the resin. I showed him to click on the next button, which shows 85k gallons. That's the value needs to be considered! I was aware the water filter candles costed $235 at puronics, but he made a bill for $302, and later when asked he changed to $335. When I said it should be around $200, he made the correction to $235. I have always had a good experience with Michael and Damitri in the past. Unfortunately not the same this time. Hopefully my review reaches the right audience, and such things are not repeated. Update: Thanks to Jeff Atkinson. He was quick to address our concerns, sent Micheal the following week to inspect the work and made sure it was all done to our satisfaction. read more

Setting up an appointment for them to come out to your house is like pulling teeth. They only want to talk to you via video conferencing. If you like video conferencing only then they are a company you'll probably like. I have Installed puronics system in summer of 2016., primary purpose is to treat water for daily uses[ washing, shower..] , for drinking i still rely on supplies from Alahambra. my main reason for this water system was the technician who came to test my water , mentioned that there is lot of hardness in the water and their system will help in getting cleaner version of the water. after 8-10 months of installation , the side effect I see is my kids are loosing hair., if its some 30+ i can believe its because of age , but with my kids age 5+ and 8+ , would be interested to see if the water is the reason. I had a new system installed. The tech tried to upgrade the tank to 1K adder because he did not have the black one in stock. The tech then did not even turn on the system and after a 3 months I had hard water spots repairs on marble shower enclosures. The tech had confirm that the warranty was transferable upon sale of the house, and wrote in down on paperwork. The company did not honor the warranty and I could not get the owner to return my call to complain all on issues after several attempts...Buyer BEWARE! DO NOT USE PURONICS! I had a visit from a Puronics tech on ~4/22/2021. He went through a 2.5 hr. presentation with me in the Charlotte, NC area. At the conclusion I determined this Puronics water filtration product and its cost was not for me. I was supposed to receive 96 oz Tide for listening to the presentation. He gave me a coupon card to fill out to receive the free Tide product. After he left I realized the he left the card blank and neglected to include the required missing info. I called the Livermore, CA HQ twice to explain the problem and track it back to then receive the Tide product. UPDATE - 5/6/2021 - In the interim I received 3 calls from a GM- Jeff Attkinson , from the Livermore, CA HQ who was concerned enough to follow up and make the situation right. Jeff expedited 2 Tide detergent containers to my NC address and they were received today. I had the water system for over 2 months now which help water spot. It does help so you don't have to clean the faucet often. The only problem the Sale and the Manager guy suppose to come and test my water to make sure I can drink , but been for a while like 2 months. I just got a call two week ago from the sale guy will arrange customer service to make appointment. After two week, I didn't hear any feedback yet from customer service to make an appointment. I like the system, but sales /manager and customer service need to follow-up with customers and improve service big time. After she told me the price I was pretty straight forward that I was not interested due to it being much more expensive that alternatives available. This past month individuals with puronics have been sending me emails regarding their webinars. I have requested multiple times to be taken off of their list but other individuals continue to send me the same email. We've had our Puronics system for over two years in our current home - and over a decade in our prior residence. Earlier this summer, Manuel was dispatched for a check-up/servicing. We recently noticed an odd sound coming from the system, so Manuel was sent to take another look at our system today. It turns out our potassium tablets has solidified at the bottom of the water softening container (no fault of Manuel's). Not only did Manuel arrive promptly to both appointments, but he was very thorough and patient in his work. With his visit today, he had to break up and dislodge a bowling-ball size chunk of potassium tablets that were blocking the system. Based on Manuel's suggestion, since our unit is outside the home and in direct sunlight, we'll be wrapping the water softener container in the summer to deflect heat, which causes the tablets to solidify. We'll only fill the container about 25% full, and every month, we'll use a rubber mallet and give a few good whacks at the bottom of the container to break up any tablet build up. It has been a great experience getting a Puronics system into my new house. The water tends to be hard where I live and leaves a good bit of white residue behind (Ca, Mg) etc. I went through different units out there in the market. Learned that there are 2 types: a) Water conditioners and b) Softeners. I opted for the softeners with salt as the hard water at my house was around 11 grains. I also decided to go with the Reverse Osmosis (RO) unit to get bottled quality water. Prior to choosing Puronics, I checked a ton of places on the Internet and also checked out large wholesale stores and then went to HomeDepot and connected with Puronics through them. From the word go, I had Marissa S. the sales person connect with me and give me an excellent video demonstration. Later, she followed up with answering questions that I came up with on the units that they were selling. The mulitlevel particulate filtering all the way to the chemical removal from the water that Puronics has built into their systems was very impressive. Backed by a lifetime warranty, I knew I could not go wrong. Once I placed my order, the follow up by Carmen B. and their dispatch team was amazing and they worked out the shortest possible time to get someone in to setup the system. Following this, the Tech they sent (John B) was an amazingly knowledgeable person. He gave me a lot of interesting tips about my new house and its plumbing system. During the course of the installation, there was a problem and we had to call in the builder's plumbers. John was extremely patient and worked with the plumbers etc to correct the situation. Glad he caught it or I would not have known. There was no pressure to pay on the the spot. Carmen followed up to check if everything was satisfactory and so did my sales person Marissa. I realized that these guys are serious about their business and customer service and I'd rather be with them than go with someone else. I did check out a water system seller from a very large whole sale store, but was not impressed as he was more interested in the sale and kept telling me how busy their company is. Thanks to the wholesale store that he was representing, he jacked up the price too and I was very dissappointed. Puronics service, delivery, and installation so far has been a 5 star. We have had whole house Puronics system since 2014. After more than 3 years I cannot be happier with this unit. Yes, you do have to put salt in the system. Salt is basically used to clean the filter itself so that it can continue to regenerate good water. Also once a year you have to have someone come over and remove some of the silver and other components inside the filter so that bacteria does not grow (I kind of think of it like an oil change once a year in a car). We no longer have white residue stains on kitchen sink, or in the bathroom. just the thought of me not drinking or cooking with all that white stuff in the water makes me appreciate this unit every day. Also if you get service Ask for Esteban. He is very thorough, checks everything (hardness of incoming water, non soluble material in the water, pressure and a few other things). He also took the time to explain to me how the system can help determine if you have water leaks anywhere in the house. He is very professional and took the time to help me setup the system according to how we now use it and also how to adjust for hardness of the water (i.e. more salt use, or less salt use). I had never met Esteban before, but when he left I felt like he was great at what he does with a very professional attitude. Overall I am very happy with this unit and the service. read more

Long story short- I was lied to several times by the salesman. I was in the market for a water softening system because Dublin has hard water. I heard a radio ad for Puronics and decided to give them a call. The salesman came out and did a demonstration of how my water is hard and contaminated. Before calling any water softener companies, I did some research on water softening systems. I had read that salt systems use a lot of water to clean out their systems and I also read that my water district recommends against using salt systems because the salt makes it infeasible to recycle water. I talked to the salesman (Brian) about my concerns. He told me that the unit only uses six gallons of water to clean itself out and he told me that I don't need to worry about the salt affecting recycled water for two reasons. The first was he said that cities in the Central Valley and Brentwood have banned salt systems because the farmers believe that the salt hurts their crops. He also told me that I do not need to replenish the salt and only minimal amounts go down the drain. He told me several times that the only maintenance needed was that the silver needed to be replaced (done by the company once every couple years, depending on how much water goes through the system). He assured me several times that I do not need to keep adding salt (because only minimal amounts get flushed out). I was also initially thinking about putting the unit about 20 feet from the main water line. Puronics policy is to charge for anything further than 10 feet. Brian told me that it would not be a problem where I wanted to put it and he assured me I would not be charged more. So today the installation guy came out and installed the system. He told me that the location was more than 10 feet away, but the sales guy wrote in the paperwork that it was within 10 feet. The installation guy said he'd need to check before proceeding to make sure he did not get in trouble. All that was avoided after I just allowed him to install it within 10 feet of the main water line. The installation went fine (probably took three hours from start to finish) and the installation guy was nice. He was showing me how it worked and showed me the huge salt container saying that the salt needs to be replaced every month and a half or so. I told him what Brian told me and he had a look of disbelief on his face. I then asked him how much water is used to purge the system and he said it was approximately 45 gallons every 1,700 gallons of use or so...about 7.5 times more water than what Brian told me. The installation guy told me that he would notify his boss and I should receive either a phone call from Brian or his boss in the next few days. I'm obviously unhappy that I was lied to about how the system works. The only good thing about this company is that they claim they'll take the unit back up to one year after installation and give a full refund. I haven't used the system yet but after spending $2,970 and finding out I've ben lied to about all my concerns, I am in all likelihood going to have them take the thing back much sooner rather than later...that is unless I've been lied to about the one year guarantee like I've been lied to about everything else. Had I been told how much water is purged out of the system and how much salt is discharged, I would never have signed up for this. I obviously cannot recommend this company to anyone. Update Within a couple days of posting this review, Jeff called me. I'm not sure what his job title is but he seemed pretty high up in the company. He asked me what he could do to make things right, but I explained to him unless he had a system that performs the way the salesman promised, there wasn't much he could do. Jeff told me that he would retrain Brian to not lie to potential customers. I told Jeff that I'd give the system a shot for a few months since there is a one year satisfaction guarantee. Jeff told me to call him directly if I had any questions. Fast forward to the end of the year. I chose to return the system. Not saying that the system caused it (I'm sure the increased salt didn't help), but I developed a kidney stone while drinking water from this system. It took some effort to get them to return my calls and emails, but when I did talk to Jeff, he had no recollection of our previous conversation. Either he deals with so many customers who are angry that they are lied to that he can't possibly remember them all, or he didn't give two craps about my complaint as long as I kept the system (and the "retraining" with Brian was so minimal he couldn't remember it). He then tried selling me on another of their systems when I repeatedly said I only wanted a refund. Seriously? My refund should be coming this week. I obviously can't recommend them for anything unless paying lots of money for lies is your thing. I'm now going with Wave Home Solutions, which uses no salt and minimal flushing. read more

We had a Puronics Defender whole house unit installed about a month ago and could not be more satisfied with the installation and performance of the softener. Donny did a great job piping and setting it up. Ginny did the initial presentation and water testing, answered our questions and followed up throughout the process. The company did a great job of scheduling and keeping us informed. I would have given 5 stars but was surprised by one thing that no one told me about up front and I did not look into in advance myself. The installation of a water treatment system in my city requires a building inspection. Turns out it was no big deal passed without a problem and Puronics arranged the inspection for us. The consultant that came to my home answered all of my questions, and was extremely knowledgeable. When the tech installed my reverse osmosis, he tightened a loose spray hose clamp under my sink, he didn't have to do that, and I really appreciated it, as it's hard for me to crawl under my sink and when he installed the softener/purifier he made sure to install a water spigot so I could use soft water to wash my cars, he didn't have to do that either, very much appreciated. I couldn't be more delighted with the water quality! The water tastes excellent, every bit as good as any bottled water sold, in my opinion. read more

I have been very happy with the system. I have had the routine filter changes, routine resin and hygene changes, etc. People don't realize that when buying a water softener, filter, reverse osmosis system, they are going to need routine maintenance. read more
