He completed the diagnostic of my water issue and knew what the problem was right away. After checking things out, he said he needed to check with his higher-ups for the next step and then quoted me $1,260 for a waste and overflow replacement, since I declined to have holes cut into the wall -- which would have cost even more. When I suggested they try augering the drain, he told me it wouldn't work and claimed that other plumbers who would do that were "being shady." Because if the auger snake got stuck or was "missing," it could cost an additional $3,000-$4,000, which honestly felt like a scare tactic. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion. The next plumber simply augered the line for $180, and everything works perfectly now -- no wall cutting, no extra charges. I'm so glad I didn't let them talk me into unnecessary work. Based on my experience with Matthew N. and Discount Plumbing, I wouldn't recommend them.

Because of my hard water, the cartridge in the valve was stuck, and with the shaft sheered, I couldn't get a grip on it to pull it out. Clearly it was time to call in an expert... and fast! I gave Jesus a call, and he came out within a couple of hours. It took him a bit of time, force, and creativity to finally break the old cartridge loose... but he got it, and we were back in business! I had specifically called Tracy Rooter because I've found with other projects that I strongly prefer working with small local businesses instead of big corporations. And, again in this case, I think that was the right choice. With a small business like this, every customer matters... and I felt that in his interactions, in his service, and even in his reasonable pricing. Using a customer's bed as a tool was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. As for the restroom situation, there is proof of your technician entering and exiting the restroom, and immediately afterward urine was left on the toilet seat and bathroom floor. That mess was not there beforehand. Calling it an "allegation" instead of addressing the concern respectfully is disappointing. I shared my honest experience as a customer. Professionalism is not just about completing a job it's also about respecting someone's home, cleanliness, and basic courtesy while inside it.

That's when I started calling around for help. Most places I called were quick to ask what was wrong and immediately quote me a fee just to come out. I was considering one of them until I spoke with Meigs. He was awesome. He told me he offers free quotes over the phone, but he didn't just give me a quote. He actually tried to help me troubleshoot the issue right then and there. He spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me, calmly walking me through step-by-step instructions. He suggested there might be another GFCI hidden somewhere else in the house or even in the garage. The garage hadn't even crossed my mind, but it made sense since the restrooms are closer to that side of the house. Since we don't live at the property, I wasn't there at the time to test it. I told him we'd try it when we were back there later in the week. I must've sounded a little flustered because he kindly said, "When you get there, call me if you need me," offering to walk me through everything again if necessary. Sure enough, when we checked the garage, there it was, a GFCI outlet we hadn't noticed before. We reset it, and everything worked like a charm. There was power again in the restrooms downstairs. Thanks to Meigs, he saved me at least $350 of the visit and solved the issue in 10 minutes over the phone. He absolutely could've skipped the troubleshooting and charged the service fee, but he chose to help instead, and that says a lot about his integrity. Highly recommend. Thank you, Meigs!
