Great product, install team but the way our main contact treated us afterward was unacceptable I rarely take the time to post reviews because I understand how this may impact a business but I felt it was important to provide an honest overview of both the positive and negative aspects of our experience. The water softener itself seems to be working well and the technicians who handled the installation were professional, efficient and pleasant to work with. That initial phase of the service was excellent. Unfortunately, our experience with Eduardo, our main point of contact for ongoing support, was very disappointing. Later that night after the installation, we noticed a puddle of water coming from a leak on a washer line adjacent to where the garage sink was removed and the water softener was installed. We messaged Eduardo that evening and he arrived the following morning, which we appreciated. During the visit, he claimed the leak was unrelated to their work, but offered to send a technician to assist as a favor. Eduardo stated that because it was a minor leak, someone would come out the following week or whenever a technician was available. However, security footage later confirmed that the installer had shifted our washing machine while removing the sink to place the water softener and salt container, which likely caused the issue. As soon as I got home, I called to ask that a technician be sent out as soon as possible because no one wants a leak sitting in their garage even if it's not an "emergency". He agreed to have one of his technicians out the next day between 8-9am. The following day, no technician showed up and it was just Eduardo who arrived 10 minutes late. He looked at the leak and then proceeded to lecture me about "raising my voice" on our call the day before telling me I didn't need to escalate for a quick fix and that he'd have sent someone immediately if it were a "real emergency". I was honestly in shock. I was direct because I wanted the issue addressed sooner. I was in no way being disrespectful and I have the phone conversation as well as the in-person interaction the next day on record to back that up. Being reprimanded by a service provider for raising a legitimate concern about a leak coming from the installation is inappropriate, especially after paying a premium price for the service. I apologized in the moment because I was shocked and caught off guard, but afterwards I was upset enough that I had my wife finish the conversation. While I appreciate the quality work of the installation team, Eduardo's unprofessional handling of the situation makes me hesitate to recommend this business. read more

This review is very past due. I have had positive experiences with this company thus far. Ed helped to install our water softener system over five years ago. Throughout the years there was about three times the water softener system displayed an error message and Ed had to be contacted. Earlier this September we received such an error message. I texted Ed Thur, Sep 3 and he replied within hours that he could come take a look the next day. Ed did indeed come the next day and diagnosed that a small part needed to be changed out, which he did not have on him. Ed eventually came out one week later on Fri Sept 11 and changed out the non-working part. At no point did Ed ever mention a service charge, similar to prior years. When I finally asked him if there would be a service fee, Ed replied there would be none. He said the water softener was still under warranty and that he stood by it. In this day and age when companies are charging $100-$150 to just come look at a problem, I was very impressed. Glad I found this company to work with. read more

I called the office and received no BS answers on the performance of my *tankless* under the sink RO system, its cost, maintenance expectations, and just generally what to expect including how the future replacement filters will be dropped off, for a unit that I would like to use for years and years. The actual installation was done with a technician that's courteous and professional, accommodating my back and forth on whether to use the new faucet; and explaining that the new faucet is what receives the warranty (the guy isn't trying to do less work and get out of here ASAP). Great experience from beginning to end. The water here in Willow Glen neighborhood is horrendously hard. Severe deposits on everything, don't even think of hosing off your car and letting it air dry. Pricing: I called multiple companies for quotes and found Soft Patagonia price to be very competitive especially for a quality system. I purchased the Elite water softener along InterFlo QuadPro SST Tankless reverse osmosis system. Do keep in mind that price usually includes basic install and can be subjected to additional costs depending on the framework (bypasses, additional lines, air gaps, etc.). I needed a couple of bypasses and an airgap installed. I had spoken to quite a few companies (water treatment and plumbing) that also charged additional for these services. Even then, Soft Patagonia prices are more reasonable. Installation: Nelson was the technician who performed the installation of both systems. He showed up on time and got straight to business. Through the process, we encountered one minor issue regarding faucet selection. I was given the option to pick the color of the fixture. We have a black countertop, so my wife wanted a black faucet. However, I didn't know that the tankless RO system only has one default faucet that is brushed nickel. The black faucet that Nelson installed was provided but it wasn't the design that came with the kit as displayed. So we had to ask Nelson to swap out the faucets. It costed him more time but he completed the task. Aside from this, Nelson did a fantastic job. He was respectful of our property, patched up drilled holes and cleaned up after himself. I also interrupted him on multiple occasions to gain insight into the details of his work and he did not hesitate to answer my questions and concerns. I greatly appreciate the information. 12 month review: Eduardo was very informative and educated me on my options before install. I have a tandem garage, and they were able to install it very close to the wall. Very clean and professional looking instal. No leaks one yr later. My water heater should last longer now as well not being subjected to hard water build-up. I flushed it few months ago, and the flush hardly had any deposits (my water heater had already been exposed to hard water for 1+ yr prior to install) I already forgot what south San Jose hard water looks like in my home - it's been working fine ever since. Dishes and shower are water spot free also. Might take some getting used to the slimy feel in the shower, and soaps lather much easily now. Your soaps last longer too. My skin and hair are much happier. There's only two of us using water here, so the initial salt they provided has lasted us to this point, with approx 1 foot of salt left! I only refilled for the first time with a 50lb bag to the brine tank today (half filled now).
