De Anza Water Conditioning installed a water softening system and reverse osmosis (RO) filter system in Spring 2026. The installation includes a 1-year service warranty, which has proven very helpful. Side note, if you add a mineral cartridge to your RO system and that RO system supplies an existing copper water/ice line to a refrigerator, be sure to have the ice line replaced with polyethylene tubing. If not, the minerals will degrade the copper ice line, resulting in leaks. Many thanks to José for the super job he did capping our old copper ice line and replacing it with under cabinet-mounted polyethylene tubing--works great, can't see the tubing, no leaks! Many thanks to Niko for resolving a problem we had with melted potassium in the reservoir tank for our softening system. Niko was very patient as he explained the problem and showed me step-by-step how to fix the issue myself if it happens again. He also tested the water until the results confirmed that the problem was resolved. Many thanks to Angel for taking service calls cheerfully and with kindness and efficiency. Our Kinetico system was effecting a major water leak (600 gal over ~28 hours), and I tried reaching them at different numbers after hours; a representative contacted me from each of those lines and set up an appointment the following day, 8a-12p window. Our technician Sonny Vigil arrived at 9AM, very professional and respectful. He explained his triage per step, replaced parts and fixed everything up without hassle. Shared tips about the filtration system and general troubleshooting. He additionally performed a full system checkup and replaced our filters as part of the same service visit; we would've otherwise run out of potable water shortly. We contacted them through yelp which also brought a number of other businesses. They were the second of 6 that came in. Tam was straightforward and clear with his product with very little competitive bashing. Straightforward enough that I was ready to sign. But no, I have 4 more companies come in. I realized that the engineering of their unit is good. It does not have all the reporting and smart home features but I am not sure I want that. I want a water softener to work. The tech was accommodating. Discussed the unit placement. We ended up putting it outside versus under the house. He was great, easy to speak with and knew the best way to do the install. They installed the reverse osmosis machine as well and it was done well. I now know every major manufacturer of reverse osmosis's and water softeners. I can say the mechanical only approach is the best. I can also say de Anza is a solid firm and treats customers well. I should have trusted the yelp rating and not looked at 4 others. We were comparing with another company called Soft Patagonian and I did end up choosing them bc our neighbors recommended them but afterwards regretted going with Soft Patagonian bc the owner was incredibly rude and dismissive once we paid and voiced a concern about a leak. Benjamin did an outstanding job installing the Q850 system for us. Beyond the installation itself, he went above and beyond by helping resolve additional water leakage and air-gap overflow issues. There was some internal miscommunication noted in his work order stating that the ice line was not included in the scope, which was unexpected since I had written confirmation from the salesperson that it would be included. This came as a surprise to Benjamin and had the potential to delay his next project. This is the first time I've purchased something like this through text messaging. I contacted De Anza Water Conditioning because I wanted a salt-based water softener (not a water conditioner) for my new townhome. The property is built on slab with an electric water heater. Kim was my online salesperson who reviewed photos of the area and confirmed the footprint needed, plus where the regeneration water was to drain. De Anza was running a special on the Kinetico S650 water softener which brought it close to what their competitors had for purchase and installation. The difference here is Kinetico systems don't require an electrical hook-up, you only need a water supply and a drain. Fast forward one week and Benjamin Rodriguez came over to perform the installation. Excellent work and even provided a hose bib if I needed to wash my car with soft water. Benjamin explained that the resin tanks won't need servicing for 10 years and only the pre-filter needs changing every 3-4 years which can be done by the owner (they provide a special wrench.) I doggedly researched whole house water treatment systems. I am on a very large community water well system, O'Connor Water Tract which is high in manganese and very hard water. I chose the Kinetico system which does not require power and does require salt bags to be added occasionally. I have had it about 10 days and notice a positive difference. I also have the Kinetico A200 RO under sink system for dedicated drinking water and it's great.
