This operation, called Hague "Quality" Water is anything but! They are dealers for Hague water systems. Hague as a company and product is good but stay as far away from this dealer as possible. They are dishonest, not very competent, and completely unresponsive. I even had to contact the Hague regional manager to get on their case. I don't understand why Hague allows them to stay as dealers. Nor do I understand how they are even still in business. I now use Tru-Tech water to service my Hague system and Steve Drake there is WAY better! read more

Avoid At All Costs..... (this was also posted at United Plumbing Contractors) We sold our home in south San Jose, but before the title changed hands, we needed to get a permit for our water heater and water softener. Who knew? Since the softener was originally installed by Hague shortly after our place was built in 2003, we called them. Too bad I didn't read my own advice from October 2017. Long story short.....We mostly spoke with Kim in their Los Gatos office. However, the job appeared to be outsourced to United Plumbing Contractors in Campbell. Cody, a nice and relatively young guy, came to our house at the appointed time and dealt with my wife since I was at work (although she called me with all big decisions). Listen to this: For the water softener to pass inspection and gain a permit, they claimed it needed to be vented from the garage (where it sat) through the roof. That's 2 floors and an attic above the garage...at a cost of "a few thousand dollars". I told Cody to take the softener out. There's more: For the water heater, Cody (or the person he was getting instructions from. He was on the phone many times with his home office), said we needed to attach a separate piece of equipment at a cost of "several hundred dollars". "You need it to pass inspection". We're not plumbers so we said yes. And more: At least a week after the work was done and bill paid, Kim said "Cody didn't have all the insulation needed for the water heater when he worked on it. He'll come by tomorrow. Should only take 15 minutes". He came and charged $50 plus $10 for material. Would it have cost less if he did it the first time? I wasn't even going to write a review, but we just had our final inspection. The verdict? Nothing needed to be done to the water heater to pass and get a permit. The softener? To quote the inspector..."I've never heard of the need to vent through the roof. You had a perfectly good softener and now it's gone". Maybe we misunderstood the recommendations, but isn't it better to play it safe? Go somewhere else. read more

In February, HQW, Los Gatos, called to schedule a service of our water softener units since they were going to be in the area. I advised Kim that we just got a new RO system installed as well as new replacement filters. I did agree to have the water softener units rechecked although the plumber had already looked at it. The technician, Sam, came to the scheduled service on February 13, 2020. The visit lasted less than 10 minutes since he said everything looked good. He also looked under my sink to confirm the new RO system was also fine. Upon completion, Sam told me the cost was $220.00, accepted my credit card, and said he'd email my invoice. Although I thought it was pricey since no filters were changed, I tipped him anyway because he was pleasant. In the past, the changing of the filters was half the total cost. Up to that point, I believed everything went accordingly. However, when I received my credit card statement, HQW charged an unauthorized $305.32 to my card. I called to advise HQW of what I thought was an oversight or error and was told it was not in error. Kim then made a feeble attempt to justify the additional $85.32 charge by speaking rapidly and using a bunch of technical vernacular and also stating a convenience fee for using a credit card. When she refused to abide by my invoice which said "Payment Total: $220.00 and Amount Due: 0.00", I advised her that I would then dispute the charge with the credit card company. To date, the $85.32 is still pending resolution by the credit card company. I was hoping to avoid pursuing this matter in small claims court, but I am not comfortable with having this open. Another HQW branch manager is attempting to provide me with assistance along with his area manager. Exorbitant credit card fee! read more

Avoid if you have choice! It will take more than two weeks to return the call ( not return yet) for the service call. The system does not work and we need help. It may be the time to change the whole system. read more

We had United Plumbing Contractors (Hague Quality Water of Los Gatos) install our system many years ago and we have always "had" to use them because I didn't realize there was someone else to use instead. I've had questionable service over the years. There are several problems with HQW of Los Gatos 1) Kim doesn't return phone calls in a timely manner. 2) They overcharge customers! This last time, I needed my unit serviced. I was told it was going to be over $500 for the RO filter changes, a check on the water softener and as well as a flush on the water heater (We just had our house repiped and I wanted it to all be working with the new pipes). When Kim didn't return my calls, I looked on Yelp, and found Tru-Tech (Steve) who is also an authorized Hague dealer and called him. He returned my call in less than 2 hours, scheduled an appointment within days AND today, when they finished, my bill for the exact same thing was MUCH LESS! Won't be calling UPC ever again! Trust in UPC was waning, but now it's gone! read more

There is a reason this company has low reviews. Dishonest is all I have to say. And we have done business for years with this company. Too bad they had to resort to dishonest business. They have techs that don't know what they are doing and they over charge for everything. I wouldn't do business with them if I could do it all over again. read more

I have been impressed from the second I've been in touch with Hague Quality Water. We had a backup in our cleanup that they came out and diagnosed to be pipe misalignment at a connector (from a previous cleanout installation). They were able to come out the next day to do the repair work (a LOT of digging) and did an outstanding job. Every single person I've dealt with at Hague has absolutely been phenomenal. Kim, Christian, and Casey were friendly, prompt, explained everything I needed to know, and answered all of our questions. They've made a new customer for life. read more

I have had many negative issues with this company in the past but I am writing this review now because they have made things right when things were handled poorly in the past. They have not charged me for services that corrected past problems and they've also otherwise made things right. I am giving them another chance for monthly service cleanings because of how responsive they have been in the last year in working on my whole house system. read more

Can you do negative stars. Never show for appointments. Send teenagers with zero experience that break things and blame the universe. Kim takes appointments, but no one shows to come see damage (twice). But they send bills for not fixing and actually breaking. Avoid this place. read more

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE We bought a home with a Hague system and called them as they were in the estate records. They came out and SAID they set it up for our use. We bought salt from them. After 9 months we realized that we DO NOT have SOFT WATER and that the salt level is the same. Our band new fixtures, thousands of dollars of new appliances and fixtures have been effected. We called and asked for a service call and they said they were sending someone out but they never showed. When we called at the end of the service time window SHE said "we called the number we had on file". Which wasn't our number. She then asked for our address!! Maybe she should have done that when we called for service. Then she said that they had called us four months ago and WE TOLD THEM WE SOLD THE HOUSE! She was blatantly lying. Clearly lying. No doubt. And Why? We just wanted service. We bought the home a year and a half ago. We have two systems. Very late system. Today, my husband and I both got off work to be here at 1 PM to meet and understand what our system needed and what to do. At 4:48PM I called them and she started her excuses and refused to even talk rationally Just CYA. I called another dealer immediately Maybe it was just their answering person but there is NO EXCUSE for such despicably inept behavior on their part by either employing someone who refuses to take responsibility let alone honesty. WE NOW REALIZE THAT THE ORIGINAL SERVICE CALL WAS DONE BY THE SAME TYPE OF EMPLOYEE WHO HAVE CAUSED US FINANCIAL DAMAGE BY NEVER REALLY SETTING OUR HAGUE SYSTEM UP. Our fault for not monitoring it better. NO EXCUSE FOR EITHER the pretending to set up the system, negligently saying they'd come out when they said "they had us in they're system ` and yes we know they had us because i have the paid invoice, or the lying and deception she she tried to play on us today. Our water system broke down. The technician came out to repair our unit was not able to repair it or diagnose what went wrong. Plus he showed up several hours late without telephoning us. We used another company who fixed the problem. Steve repiped our house years ago and I thought he'd done a good job. I just recently had our furnace replaced in the basement and apparently, everywhere that Steve had to weld pipes together he cut through the ductwork and did a poor job repairing his cuts. This required lots of expensive and time consuming work for the furnace contractor and lots of heat lost over the years due to Steve's poor workmanship. read more

Hague Quality Water helps us with our well systems in rural Cupertino. They have been AMAZING with service...coming out to address issues quickly and efficiently. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they have needed to return to reinstall a faulty UV lamp in the well oxidation system. BUT 5 stars for honoring the warranty. Summary: the service people are fine but the telephone/billing person really needs a lesson in customer service. I moved into a house several years ago that had a water softening and reverse osmosis system installed by Hague. Over the years we have had a number of maintenance and repair service calls. The telephone customer service is poor to fair. It is difficult to get anyone on the phone, and returning phone calls seems to be a particularly difficult task for them. The service people themselves seem to be competent, however the last visit resulted in a loss of pressure in the water tank, which then had to replaced at my cost. Now, I only call them when I really need them. read more

We have had a very negative experience with Hague. Our unit has worked only intermittently. Our brand new dishwasher has hard water spots all through the interior as do all the plumbing fixtures in our bathrooms. The technicians are friendly but not effective. Kim, the receptionist/office manager always has an attitude and very poor customer service skills. Had we not already blown $3K on the unit, we would have definitely gone with another provider. read more

The Los Gatos Hague Water folks have been very helpful. We bought a foreclosed house, and were wondering what to do about the reverse osmosis system. We figured it probably needed a filter change, but we had no idea about how to change it. The folks at Los Gatos Hague Water systems sent us a letter asking us to contact them (or to pass the letter on to the owner, if we were renters). When we called, they were able to tell us when the system was last serviced, and to tell us what it would take to get the filter changed. Their technician came out reliably the day of our appointment, even though we had to change the appointment time at the last minute. He not only changed the filter on the reverse osmosis system, he also diagnosed the problem which was keeping the water softening system from working. He also did an emergency replacement of the faucet at our sink which dispenses the filtered water, after the faucet broke off in my hand while I was showing him how I could make it wobble by pushing it lightly (I had worried about it leaking a little, but I hadn't realized that it had worn through and was ready to break off entirely!). read more

I had my Hague water system installed in 1997, as of today it is still running strong due to the GREAT "maintenance" service I receive every 18months. From Kim in the office to the service person, Arthur - amazing! Arthur exampled every part of the jobs he did, including video. I cannot say enough about Arthur, he was friendly, clean, hardworking, HONEST and on time! I have since called him back to handle other plumbing problems beside my routine maintenance on my Hague water system, again great! I highly recommend this company and its employees! Top notch.
