I was almost tempted to go to Rreal tacos instead of this restaurant but glad I did check it out. Strawberry, basil frozen margarita with Tajin rim- I love any place that has a tajin rim. The drink wasn't bad I prefer sweeter. The bartender did offer to add more strawberry. This place had really good guacamole. I would say one of the best I had so far. They make their chips fresh and they give you a good amount. I got carne SUADERo with beans and rice. These beans were so good. The tacos were good and very full. I will definitely be back. The bartender offered another patron a brunch menu. I wasn't given that option but would have loved to see what they offered. read more

Very small space and very loud, but the service was excellent and the food was tasty. The chips were overdone but everything else was great!

Service and food were on point! Went to dinner with a big group and our waiter was very attentive. The guacamole is must also had the ceviche's-white fish and shrimp Both were excellent. Another appetizer we ordered was the queso flamedo served with homemade tortillas Shared the steak fajitas came with corn or flour tortillas. So filling! read more

We stopped in for a quick meal on a Thursday evening and got chips and salsa and the burrito ahogado. The ambiance was festive and fun, and the restaurant was decorated for the holiday season. In terms of food, the burrito was outstanding. The portions were huge and it was cooked fresh. Very flavorful. We also ordered the chips and salsa (not free here unfortunately), which were also very good. Overall, for a shared meal, couldn't ask for more. The service was fine, but those that we did interact with seemed a bit stand offish, and acted a bit inconvenienced. Wouldn't deter me from going again, but not quite what I was expecting. Nevertheless, it's a good place to stop if you've never been, and there are a few convenient locations in the metro ATL area. read more

We got the Farmers Market dates mixed up for Duluth so we ended up searching for a place to eat. Nacho Daddy was closed up and we were in the fajita mood so walked across to Pure. It was a beautiful Sunny day in Downtown Duluth so we sat on the patio. Our waiter was knowledgeable and fast for all the stations he had to work. Those guys work hard so my hats off to him. The Ambiance was nice on the patio with a cool breeze and 72 degree spring day! The shrimp fajitas or as my late mom used to to call them "fatijas " we're good with mushrooms and veggies along with pico de gallo guac and sour cream to enhance the fresh taste . The chips and salsa were a little too hard for me especially but the two salas were really good! In fact I dipped my remaining shrimp in it definitely . Now that spring is here a good place to eat during the week or weekends for brunch, lunch, or dinner! read more

I came here for Memorial Day lunch, and since I came right when they had opened it was empty with no wait. I asked to be seated outside, and was content with just waters to drink. I ordered the chips and salsa and quesadillas pollo y queso. The quesadillas came out and looked like huge empanadas, not like regular quesadillas. It was stuffed with cheese and shredded chicken, topped with shredded lettuce, green salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and some cheese. I also got that with rice and refried beans. To say that it was good is an understatement. It was a lot of food with the chips and salsa, so I had some leftovers. The service was mediocre, like it could've been better. Overall, it was a good experience here, and would definitely come again and try something different next time. read more

Always been a fan of Pure. Was excited tonight when pork was their braised meat of the day today, meaning they could make the off menu Torta Cubana, a previous menu favorite that was removed when they stopped regularly having pork. My daughter got the burrito ahagado, with chicken. This thing was huge. We started with chips and queso. The house made chips are great, crunchy, just the right amount of greasy, and great with cheese. Highly recommend most of their menu, but wish they would bring back their original chicken fajitas, those were the best. The new chicken fajita is not nearly as good, although still worth ordering. read more

The food here was great this was a busy weekend but worth the wait which was not to bad . The restaurant has a cute little set up with lists of lights around with outdoor and indoor dining. The outside view was nice on the patio specially because downtown Duluth had a festival going , the pure is right next to the train which my possibly pass by during your dining kinda loud but cool seeing it go by specially if you have kids on your visit here , kids love trains. The food was good , had lots of taste an came out pretty fast . I wish i can remember what all we ate but i definitely have pictures to show lol if your like me when i go out i like to show pictures of what i want sometimes. One dish i definitely remember and recommend is the Queso Fundido it was so so good and a lot to share. Check out photos below read more

On my last trip to Duluth, GA, I was determined to try this cute spot on the corner. I'm happy I did! Let's go through what we ate... Guacamole y Totopos - this appetizer was so good! Loved the fresh, homemade chips as well. So crunchy and seasoned. We even had enough to take home for seconds. Portobello Fajitas - so filling and you get a TON of food! The side of black beans wasn't as flavorful though. It was a little bland for my liking and that contributed to me moving the star rating to 4 out of 5 stars. Outside of that, everything else was seasoned with a nice little kick. Camarón O Pescado - this was the fried grouper tacos my mommy ordered. She enjoyed them and said they were cooked perfectly. The slaw added a nice crunch and balance as well. Drinks... My mommy had a margarita that she loved. I had the Ginger Mojito and didn't really didn't get the the lemon juice or sweetness I was looking for. I just tasted rum and melted ice. I wish it was better. For Ambiance... It was spacious on the inside and nicely decorated. We sat on the outside patio and loved that there were umbrellas covering each table to help with the heat and sun. Service wise... All the staff was nice and accommodating. Overall, I will be back. I may just change the beans options and I'll need to try another drink. Everything else was great! read more

Cute place. The meat was too fatty for my liking though. Would have liked it to be more tender.

Nice location (other than right near the train tracks) but I wasn't a fan of the food or alcoholic beverage. The birria lamb tacos were recommended so I tried two of those with the rice & beans. The tacos were very bland & dry. I would not order these again if I ever did come back here. My son had the kids meal chicken quesadilla & it was literally big pieces of shredded chicken & melted cheese. No sides, no juice, nothing. The quesadilla was on like one taco shell folded in half, not like any other quesadilla I've seen from actual Mexican restaurants. Even those were so dry & not edible. Moving on to my drink. I ordered the ginger mojito & it was the worst mojito I've ever had in my life. It tasted like it wasn't mixed right & either one ingredient was old/expired or they used something that they shouldn't have. Additionally, I had to ask for mint leaves (that came out by the time I finished my food) because they brought me just what looked like juice in a cup with no garnish or anything to actually look like I was drinking a mojito. For the price, I won't go back. I literally had to throw out our food & didn't finish more than 2 sips of my drink. It's way too expensive to dine here for me not have been able to enjoy it. read more

Found by asking the local shopkeepers. FANTASTIC. Cuban vibe. Interior is very south Florida. Garage style day room patio. Two Actual patios, no one was using because of the weather. Back one is hipster and looks out on the road and shops. Bar. I wanted a drink looking at the sparkling bottles. Bartender was cutting pineapple for an infusion. Feel like I missed out, but lunch was alcohol free today. Pass on the complimentary tap water. Not good. If you want chips and salsa, it's an order. But worth it. We had the waitress order for us. She picked a protein rice bowl. I choose shrimp and my buddy had chicken. Wonderful mix of vegetables. Seasoning on point. Avocado, onions, zucchini, mushrooms, black beans, rice, and garlic....splash of citrus. No one bite was like the last. Both meats cooked to perfection. I'm going to attempt to make this dish at home. I will be back. Service was friendly, efficient and sweet. A true touch of hospitality, more like a residence than a restaurant. read more

We stopped at this restaurant on a whelm. Unfortunately I didn't look at the health score until we were leaving. The score is 86. Our waitress, black female, was horrible. When she approached our table she was not welcoming at all. My spouse asked a question about the menu and she barely spoke. She brought our drinks and that was the last time we saw her. We had to flag someone down to get the check the. Flag someone else down to pay the check. Horrible service. The food was actually quite tasty. read more

We were in the area and stumbled upon Duluth's downtown fall festival. We ate at the first place we saw. This is not the typical Mexican restaurant. Some of the foods we didn't recognize. We started off with queso gringo and chips which was delicious. Beware: chips and salsa are not free. For drinks, our party of three ordered a frozen margarita, Arnold Palmer, and some type of limeade drink. They were pretty good. Our entrees were -Burrito Ahogado with chipotle chicken: very tasty and flavorful; -Tacos w/ chicken: dry and lacked seasoning and toppings: no amount of salt helped; would NEVER order again; -Fries: tasty with a slight spicy kick; and -Pollo con Tequila y Limón (chicken dish with rice and beans: pretty good. - Our female server was nice and prompt but offered no suggestions for us newbies. Pure has a casual ambiance with indoor and outdoor dining on two sides. On this particular Saturday, they had a steady flow of traffic. We were 2 to 1 on whether we would eat here again. read more

#vegetarian Nice, clean, casual atmosphere with a garage type decor style. A patio in front of the restaurant & outdoor seating in a open garage area. It's located downtown Duluth, right beside the train track. I had the vegetable fajitas (only had a very small amount of spinach, not a lot of veggies variety, a small amount of beans) - 5 out of 10. A bit bland - would need to add some type of sauce to the veggies. My husband had the salmon (6 out of 10) said the meat was tender & tasty. It was like swimming in a soupy tomato/corn mixture though - it was just ok. No free chips & salsa. Pretty pricey - for what you get. Ok to check it out once - no reason to return. read more

Nice Pure Taqueria location on the train tracks in the ever-growing downtown Duluth. The restaurant backs up to the parking garage, making it very easy to park close to the restaurant. You can sit outside/on patio, inside in a classic setting, or in their garage-type room which has large doors that open when weather permits. We sat in the garage-style room and loved it. Service was good throughout the meal. We ordered a signature cocktail that was a frozen strawberry margarita (my girlfriend absolutely loved it) and I had their mezcal margarita (which was also delicious). Chips and loaded queso appetizer was very filling for 2 people. Still ordered main entrées which were very fresh (love their house-made bread). Will be back for sure! read more

I had brought my 2 new, 60 lbs each, Pit Bull pups, to meet my mom that lives in Duluth at an Assisted Living Memory Care Facility. We were hungry so I looked up places to eat and could bring the dogs. Pure Taqueria was the place that looked good. We sat on the front patio and at that time there were no other diners. This was the pups first public outing and my Mom has dementia. What was I thinking??? Well, it was wonderful! The staff brought the pups water and they were so sweet to my mom, as well as the pups. I think about 4 or 5 staff members came out to say hello to them. Nice! All in all the pups did well. They loved the attention since I never give them any:). We had the chips and 2 salsas (red green); all was absolute perfection. The pups loved a few chips and Mom kept saying they were the best chips and salsa she had ever had. I'm very picky about restaurant salsa's. Pure has perfected their salsas!!! Thank you! Mom got the pork tacos with beans + rice and I got the Chilaquiles Rojo (a lot of food). They were both delicious. I highly recommend this place if you have dogs or not. It was a bit chaotic for me, but the staff, food and Mom being happy was worth it. A couple came and sat in the patio and I think they were not thrilled seeing the pups. But, we were almost done eating, so hopefully they enjoyed the rest of their meal when we left. My pups didn't do anything wrong, but I could tell they may have been a bit cautious. I get it. Thank you Pure Taqueria for being very accommodating. read more

I like this place! I had not been to a Pure Taqueria in years. I always liked the concept of a converted gas station building (even if the locations now may not have been actual Pure Gas stations). The service was prompt and friendly. The food is very tasty. Chicken tacos were delicious (with rice and black beans) and according to my friend the margarita was good, with sugar instead of salt on the rim. The chips (uniquely done) and salsa were worth the slight extra cost (although included is best!). My one suggestion would be to do something to mitigate the juice from the tacos (some may see it as a feature; for me it made the tacos difficult to eat by hand and I resorted to using my fork). Overall a very good experience and I look forward to my next visit! read more

I ordered the shrimp fajitas, refried beans and rice. I really enjoyed the rice and beans. The rice was green rice and had a nice (maybe cilantro) flavor. The refried beans equally flavorful, came with a little cheese on top. The overcooked shrimp on the fajitas were barely edible. They had a high taste of the liquid smoke perpetrating as "grilled". The vegetables included are a large portobello mushroom, whole jalapeño, red pepper, and onions - all equally doused in the liquid smoke. I did not enjoy the main entree and have regrets about not returning it. read more

I met up with my kiddos to have dinner and see my new nephew and opted for Pure at my daughters request. Great location downtown Duluth , old Pure gas station I trust in the design and the name and garage doors, but nice upscale Mexican eatery so outdoor and indoor seating. We had 5 of us in the garage area- so outdoor covered - next to the tracks, nice atmosphere. We started with chips and cheese dip and some margaritas. Drinks were good- pricy for a small glass but potent. All had various taco dishes or a bowl - one was a taco salad in a bowl- rest were authentic Mexican beef, lamb, steak tacos. 2 tacos are about $12 but to have lamb was a treat. Service was good- very covid friendly, tv for the game, really nice place. Need to get downtown more often. Many other places try but will come back for Mexican here when in the area. It was a beautiful day, so the goal was to find somewhere we could eat and enjoy the weather. Mission accomplished! Pure is located on a corner with the perfect people watching view along with proximity to an ice cream shop to follow our meal. It's nice to visit an establishment with a concept that is typical but still get to explore unique versions of the same dishes I might have tried a thousand times before. I began my meal with dessert fried plantains that were accompanied with a sweet creamy dip. I was pleased with the combination that I otherwise would have never knew existed. Another note worthy dish is the tres ceviches- I have always enjoyed shrimp ceviche but didn't realize there were a variety of different kinds. A sample plate is always my favorite dish. The food and the service was great! I had the enchiladas and my wife had the Cazuela (Portabella Mushroom). I included the Cazuela photo which was very nice to look at. The enchiladas were fine except I ordered the red sauce on the side so it didn't look like it should. The meals were $13 and $15, and worth it. Chips and salsa was $3 extra, but also well worth it. The chips are made in-house and were very flavorful. It came with 2 salsas; one red and 1 green (tomatilla). The green salsa was spicier than the red and had plenty of lime essences. It was Tuesday, so Tacos seemed appropriate when I was trying to decide where to go for dinner. No wait to be seated. Complimentary Chips and Salsa with the Queso Gringo were a great starter. Server recommended the Puerco al Pastor Taco (marinated & sauteéd pork, pineapple, chihuahua cheese, onion, cilantro, chile de arbol salsa) & Camarón Taco (grilled shrimp, poblano slaw, chipotle mayo, cruda tomatillo salsa). Both were great but Pastor was my favorite. I kept resisting more complimentary chips because I knew if they brought them I would eat them and I wanted something sweet. Pastel de Tres Leches (layered cake with 'three milks', mascarpone cream, housemade vanilla rum, strawberries, toasted coconut, sugared almonds) was just what I needed to top off the meal. I recommend and will definitely return at some point when in the area. read more
