The drink wasn't bad I prefer sweeter. The bartender did offer to add more strawberry. This place had really good guacamole. I would say one of the best I had so far. They make their chips fresh and they give you a good amount. I got carne SUADERo with beans and rice. These beans were so good. The tacos were good and very full. I will definitely be back. We also ordered the chips and salsa (not free here unfortunately), which were also very good. Overall, for a shared meal, couldn't ask for more. The service was fine, but those that we did interact with seemed a bit stand offish, and acted a bit inconvenienced. Wouldn't deter me from going again, but not quite what I was expecting. It was stuffed with cheese and shredded chicken, topped with shredded lettuce, green salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and some cheese. I also got that with rice and refried beans. To say that it was good is an understatement. It was a lot of food with the chips and salsa, so I had some leftovers. The service was mediocre, like it could've been better. Always been a fan of Pure. Was excited tonight when pork was their braised meat of the day today, meaning they could make the off menu Torta Cubana, a previous menu favorite that was removed when they stopped regularly having pork. My daughter got the burrito ahagado, with chicken. This thing was huge. We started with chips and queso. The house made chips are great, crunchy, just the right amount of greasy, and great with cheese. Highly recommend most of their menu, but wish they would bring back their original chicken fajitas, those were the best. The food here was great this was a busy weekend but worth the wait which was not to bad . The restaurant has a cute little set up with lists of lights around with outdoor and indoor dining. The outside view was nice on the patio specially because downtown Duluth had a festival going , the pure is right next to the train which my possibly pass by during your dining kinda loud but cool seeing it go by specially if you have kids on your visit here , kids love trains. On my last trip to Duluth, GA, I was determined to try this cute spot on the corner. I'm happy I did! Let's go through what we ate... Guacamole y Totopos - this appetizer was so good! Loved the fresh, homemade chips as well. So crunchy and seasoned. We even had enough to take home for seconds. Portobello Fajitas - so filling and you get a TON of food! The side of black beans wasn't as flavorful though. It was a little bland for my liking and that contributed to me moving the star rating to 4 out of 5 stars. Outside of that, everything else was seasoned with a nice little kick. Camarón O Pescado - this was the fried grouper tacos my mommy ordered. She enjoyed them and said they were cooked perfectly. The slaw added a nice crunch and balance as well. Drinks... My mommy had a margarita that she loved. I had the Ginger Mojito and didn't really didn't get the the lemon juice or sweetness I was looking for. I just tasted rum and melted ice. I wish it was better. For Ambiance... It was spacious on the inside and nicely decorated. We sat on the outside patio and loved that there were umbrellas covering each table to help with the heat and sun. Service wise... Nice location (other than right near the train tracks) but I wasn't a fan of the food or alcoholic beverage. The birria lamb tacos were recommended so I tried two of those with the rice & beans. The tacos were very bland & dry. I would not order these again if I ever did come back here. My son had the kids meal chicken quesadilla & it was literally big pieces of shredded chicken & melted cheese. No sides, no juice, nothing. The quesadilla was on like one taco shell folded in half, not like any other quesadilla I've seen from actual Mexican restaurants. Even those were so dry & not edible. Moving on to my drink. I ordered the ginger mojito & it was the worst mojito I've ever had in my life. It tasted like it wasn't mixed right & either one ingredient was old/expired or they used something that they shouldn't have. Additionally, I had to ask for mint leaves (that came out by the time I finished my food) because they brought me just what looked like juice in a cup with no garnish or anything to actually look like I was drinking a mojito. For the price, I won't go back. I literally had to throw out our food & didn't finish more than 2 sips of my drink. Service was good throughout the meal. I had brought my 2 new, 60 lbs each, Pit Bull pups, to meet my mom that lives in Duluth at an Assisted Living Memory Care Facility. We were hungry so I looked up places to eat and could bring the dogs. Pure Taqueria was the place that looked good. We sat on the front patio and at that time there were no other diners. This was the pups first public outing and my Mom has dementia. What was I thinking??? Well, it was wonderful! The staff brought the pups water and they were so sweet to my mom, as well as the pups. I think about 4 or 5 staff members came out to say hello to them. Nice! All in all the pups did well. They loved the attention since I never give them any:). We had the chips and 2 salsas (red green); all was absolute perfection. The pups loved a few chips and Mom kept saying they were the best chips and salsa she had ever had. I'm very picky about restaurant salsa's. Pure has perfected their salsas!!! Thank you! Mom got the pork tacos with beans + rice and I got the Chilaquiles Rojo (a lot of food). They were both delicious. I highly recommend this place if you have dogs or not. It was a bit chaotic for me, but the staff, food and Mom being happy was worth it. A couple came and sat in the patio and I think they were not thrilled seeing the pups. But, we were almost done eating, so hopefully they enjoyed the rest of their meal when we left. I like this place! I had not been to a Pure Taqueria in years. I always liked the concept of a converted gas station building (even if the locations now may not have been actual Pure Gas stations). The service was prompt and friendly. The food is very tasty. Chicken tacos were delicious (with rice and black beans) and according to my friend the margarita was good, with sugar instead of salt on the rim. The chips (uniquely done) and salsa were worth the slight extra cost (although included is best!). My one suggestion would be to do something to mitigate the juice from the tacos (some may see it as a feature; for me it made the tacos difficult to eat by hand and I resorted to using my fork). Overall a very good experience and I look forward to my next visit! read more

The refried beans equally flavorful, came with a little cheese on top. The overcooked shrimp on the fajitas were barely edible. They had a high taste of the liquid smoke perpetrating as "grilled". The vegetables included are a large portobello mushroom, whole jalapeño, red pepper, and onions - all equally doused in the liquid smoke. The enchiladas were fine except I ordered the red sauce on the side so it didn't look like it should. The meals were $13 and $15, and worth it. Chips and salsa was $3 extra, but also well worth it. The chips are made in-house and were very flavorful. It came with 2 salsas; one red and 1 green (tomatilla). The green salsa was spicier than the red and had plenty of lime essences. Pure is located on a corner with the perfect people watching view along with proximity to an ice cream shop to follow our meal. It's nice to visit an establishment with a concept that is typical but still get to explore unique versions of the same dishes I might have tried a thousand times before. I began my meal with dessert fried plantains that were accompanied with a sweet creamy dip. I was pleased with the combination that I otherwise would have never knew existed. Another note worthy dish is the tres ceviches- I have always enjoyed shrimp ceviche but didn't realize there were a variety of different kinds. A sample plate is always my favorite dish.
