It should take longer than an hour to do a mani and pedi. Mimi was in such a rush to get back to her snacks (seriously as soon as she finished my mani she went and sat in a massage chair with snacks, then got up to get more snacks and knocked her iced coffee all over my shoes while my nails were drying). Her station was such a mess. Nail dust everywhere. The polish was old and globby, she painted over cotton fuzz, and her station was so full of nail dust that its now stuck to my nail polish. Honestly it was so bad I couldn't even be mad though it was just funny. Thank God I dont live around here and will never be back. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this nail salon. Their customer service is poor, and they do not respect appointment times. Even when you have an appointment, you can still end up waiting a long time without any explanation or apology. The front desk employee has a very rude attitude and comes across as if she doesn't care about the customers or their concerns. Anytime there's an issue, they refuse to take accountability and instead act like everything is the customer's fault. Their pricing is also inconsistent. I paid $65 for a French overlay, which I thought was reasonable. Two to three weeks later, I went back for a refill and was charged $60. When I asked how a refill could cost almost the same as a full set, no one gave me a clear explanation. It felt like they charge whatever they want without being transparent about their prices. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor customer service, inconsistent pricing, and unwillingness to address customer concerns make it difficult for me to recommend this salon. There are plenty of other places that treat their customers with more respect and are upfront about their pricing. read more

I have been going to pure nails over 5+ years. Mainly saw GiGi who I thought was nice until my last visit where she acted funny and a little nasty. Upon checking out she made a smart remark about tipping which I always do...but she mumbled it under her breath!! How rude and unprofessional. Now I see Emily she is so sweet and takes great care of my feet and nails. read more

The place is clean and stuffs are friendly. I tried almost all of them and they're equally good. But Gigi is my go to girl cuz she can get me out in no time without lacking on perfection when I have so much errands to run. I get dip manicure, spa pedicure with gel polish and her work lasts long time. I enjoy my services while Gigi pays attention to detail. She barely talks, but that doesn't bother me. I respect that she needs to concentrate on her work. Definitely would recommend this place!!! read more

I was really looking forward to giving this place a great review because it's walking distance from my house and they have a lot of nice bright colors. But my manicure and pedicure did not even last a whole week. They both started chipping and cracking around day 3/4. I'll give this place another try and update my review. But it will be a while. read more

Every time I make an appointment, I show up and the person I made an appointment with isn't at work EVEN if I call to confirm. I had a 5:00 appointment that they cancelled, left a voicemail, and told me to come in at 1:00. I have a job, so I can't just leave. I had an 11:00 appointment, called the morning of to confirm, and got there and was told she wouldn't be in until noon. I drove 40 minutes. I hate this salon and after today, I will never return and don't recommend it. read more

Opinion: Friendly service, decent prices. When I went, the place looked booked, luckily I had reservations. This place is amazing. I called on yesterday to see if they had any availability and to my surprise, they were able to fit me in the next morning. I showed the manager what my nails looked like and he booked me with Kim, stating she was the one who could do something intricate. And he knew what he was talking about. I arrived to my appointment and Kim was waiting for me. I sanitized my hands and she got started. She looked at pics with me and helped me decide which color to choose. The salon is set up very well for social distancing and they have partitions to separate the worker and customer during the manicure. The pedicure chairs look nice so I will be coming back to get a pedicure. AND the price....it was $45 for a fill in with design. Best price in this area and she did a really good job. I told her that she just got a regular customer. Check this place out. Ask for Kim, and don't let the reviews scare you away. read more

Update*** here's how my hands look after paying for a manicure Saturday from this place. Notice how crappy my cuticles look but the tech swore she didn't clip too much because she could "see" it. Smh I would give no stars if I could. I should've saved myself some time and listened to the other reviews. This place has terrible customer service. A tech snipped my finger and proceeded to tell me she didn't as though what I felt was a figment of my imagination, got an attitude when I told her I know what I felt, then said I needed to pay for my services before she proceeded due to me "getting regular polish." I was recommended this place from someone who only gets regular polish and she said she's never had to to do that before so yea about that. I noticed a few sanitation concerns that I contacted the BBB about. Save yourself some time and find another place. read more

Pedicure the technician cause pain and feet were still a bit rough, polished chipped same day. Manicure was horrible, tech did not listen to feedback, misshaped my nails and made them thick. I came back for corrections and still left messy polish and nails misshapen, even though the tech took the time to inform me the Almond shape originally requested was $5 more than the Oval she gave me. Now I get to enjoy looking at a $95 mistake. Second star is for the quick turn around in repairing it at no charge and no wait. read more

Ruined my cuticles and it took three people to complete a basic sns set. One lady (Gigi) was extremely rude cut me and then slammed her equipment down and asked some else to finish my set just because I asked her if she can cut my natural nails straight before adding tips. This was after she cut me with the drill multiple times and I remained nice about it. The Second Lady and manager was nicer but when I asked if she can make my nail not so unnaturally thick she also got up and asked someone else to do my nails. I won't return for a while but usually have a good experience. read more

This place is so inconsiderate of your time. This is my 2nd time going there and they removed my polish for my fill in and had me wait 40 minutes for someone else to do it. Other 2 ladies had appointments and told them they needed to wait, after 30+ minutes, they had left. They seemed overbook and don't care since they're money hungry. Very rude and inconsiderate read more

I've been coming here for the past 5 years and all I can say is book an appointment with Michelle or Aytan. The lady who did my nails today got mad at me for pointing out the fact that she couldn't even apply normal gel polish on my nails. On top of that another lady ( possibly the manager) told me that I should've picked other nail techs. Instead of trying their best to do my nails they suggested I don't do any design and charged me $47. I'm sorry but it's not my fault if your employee can't even do a French tip on 2 nails ( which would've costed an additional $16). If this happened to a customer who doesn't like complaining, both the manager and the "nail tech" would've charged $70 plus. read more

Great service by Wong! Initially was scheduled with Kim but there was a miscommunication. They were accommodating and paired me with Wong. I got a fill and told her I wanted to change my shape from oval (yuck - was not done by this salon) to almond. Wong did a great job perfecting my shape. She's very detail oriented and super QUICK without compromising quality. The salon was clean and I liked how they had the dividers. However I didn't like that there was not much room between me and another customer. Oh and I had NO issue with wait time. Arrived at 4:10pm was serviced immediately and was out by 5pm! I really wanted to like this salon and give it a chance but the reviews are secure accurate the service can be good at times but the customer service is HORRIBLE like borderline disgusting and especially if you are a person of color. I made an appointment 2weeks ago for my pedicure and manicure gel and sns. Upon arrival I was told the person (Michelle ) I made my appointment with "didn't have time to do a pedicure" which defeats the whole purpose of making an appointment. When I asked who would be doing my services the woman speaking with me rattled off names and then started speaking in her language which I'm sure she was insulting me. I will never return here. DO NOT go to this shop. The worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon in 20 years. I went on my birthday to get a dip fill in with chrome polish. The technician did a horrible job! While in the shop I could see some imperfections but they looked minor. Plus she had taken so long and again it was birthday and I had reservations so I had to go. When I got to the restaurant in different light I could see just how bad it was so I went back the very next day to get them to fix it. I knew it was going to be a problem because when I got there, the manager and technician were arguing with a customer (who was very calm btw) and a mistake they made that they refused to correct. When I showed them my nails and asked to correct it, they would not do it with charging me additional, when I already paid $77 less than 24 hours prior. I asked for the owner's number and called him and he doubled down on them not fixing my nails. His response was "well that's not my fault she didn't do a good job. I'm not responsible for that." WHAT?!?! You're the owner! Whatever happens in your shop, YOU are responsible for! This is why I say don't go there. On top of the fact that clearly several of the nail techs are not good, the owner takes no accountability. So if you ever have a problem, it will not get corrected read more

The service is so bad omg would NOT recommend. And on top of that they messed up my nails.

Jimmy is absolutely AWFUL and a LIAR! The salon and other employees seem decent. However, I had a terrible experience there. - I went to this salon for the first time on Wed, 8/26 to get a gel manicure. To my surprise, Jimmy the liar, neither use a base coat nor a top coat. Of course, I inquire about this difference in practice. He explained to me that this nail polish brand is special and comes with both a top and base coat. Since I was unfamiliar with the brand being used, I let it go. On Thursday, the very next day a nail chipped. I called and the person whom answered was nice and asked me to come in to fix it. This very nice young lady fixed the chipped nail by removing the gel and re-applying the gel nail polish. Voila, the truth was reveal! Without prompting, she applied a base coat, colored gel, and top coat. Yep, Jimmy is a despicable, bold faced liar. read more

Pure Nails Spa - Love them! - Nail Salons Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

I've been here a few times (about 3, typically to the same person) and the service is generally good, however the nails were not lasting as long as I am used to. Tried another place and realized that this was the better of the two. However, this last experience I had with them was the WORST. I went to Pure Nails to get my nails done on a Saturday before I headed out of town for a wedding. The process was generally fine, nothing remarkable about it. However, by Wednesday, I was returning to replace a nail that came off in passing. I didn't even realize it came off until later in the day. Getting that nail fixed, the technician was texting on her phone, and really just took a long time to replace my ONE nail (30 minutes). It wasn't until I let her know I had a flight to catch that she prioritized my service. By Thursday (3 days after that), I was in Las Vegas, two days before the wedding with 5 nails missing between 2 hands. I would like to note that it wasn't painful when the nails came off, I honestly didn't notice. I would look up and there would be no nail in its place. This speaks to the quality of the service. Why are my nails popping off like press-ons? When I called to let them know, the lady on the phone said to let the manager know what was going on and that they would assist me when I come in. Today, I called to make an appointment to get my replacement set and they told me I would either have to go to the lady who did my original set or pay full price again because they could have fixed my nails at no charge. If I would have kept those nails on, they would have had to replace them all the way they were popping off. They said there was nothing they could do outside of that. No refunds, but they could give me 20% off of my $80 service. I declined. In summary, it seems as though they are more concerned with taking the customers money rather than the quality of their service or their products. I have NEVER gotten my nails done for them to last 4 days, especially when they encourage refills EVERY 2-3 WEEKS. This company was not accommodating and they don't care about the services that they provide. They just want you to keep coming back every two weeks for nails that may or may not last. I hope you have a better experience than I did, because if something happens, and its their fault, they won't do anything about it but ask you to pay again. read more

So I came here after being referred, but not even 24 hours after getting dip done the gel is all wrinkly (meaning it wasn't cured long enough) and the tip of some of the nails have started to come off. I know the salon was busy at the time, but the manicure felt rushed. Id like to have the gel redone because otherwise the nails are beautiful but I can't spend my money if the service isn't lasting read more

This place! When first opened years ago the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. I live very close so it was the most convenient for me. Now I travel to get nails done, due to lack of service, overcrowding and incompetence. The place is small and often over packed with people, and the service has went down. Never mind requesting an appointment, you will still wait 15-30 minutes to be seen. Without any regarding until a chair comes available. Plus, the check in staff does not listen to simple instructions with appointment setting. They are not accommodating while waiting so long to be serviced. I've literally had to cancel my appointment three times simply due to overcrowding, plus the incompetence of simple customer service instructions. And when addressed they provide zero solution. This place needs more people and space! I will never return. read more

I made an appointment for 6pm and I waited until 6:45pm until someone started on my nails. They had to remove the gel manicure but they were in such a hurry that the tech was literally damaging my nails just to get it done quickly. They over filed the nails and made them so weak and brittle. They are so rude and unprofessional. The only decent person is the poor girl at the front desk who they asked to help remove my manicure cause they are so bad at keeping their appointments on time. The girl who did my nails after, would get up during and would walk around to handout tips and to gossip with the manager. The girl was being so rough with my nails that I was literally wincing in pain. She was so distracted and would look at every person that would walk past. At one point, she got to the point of being so distracted and ended up cutting my cuticles wrong and causing me to bleed. She dismissed it by saying it's normal because she had to use the electrical file prior to applying the polish. She didn't give a crap about doing a good job. She literally didn't let my gel cure for enough time and wiped it before it was ready. I pointed out that it's now Matte and has no shine to which she responded that it would be fine and I just had to wash with water (that obviously did not work). I left feeling so upset that I wasted TWO HOURS of my life on such a bad manicure. I have recently moved into the area and have been there twice but I would rather have my nails never be done again if it means I don't go back there ever again. read more
