Everything at Pure Bridal was incredible. They have a great selection of wedding dresses in all sizes and styles, including accessories and jewelry. They have an online look book so I could select the type of dresses I wanted to see. Before the appointment, the stylist checked out my Pinterest Board to get an idea of the wedding style and my preferences, which made it easy when I went in. I had two stylists and the owner helping during the two sessions. They offered great suggestions on what dresses to try and items to pair. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. This was the 6th salon I had been to and I was currently tired of looking for exactly what I wanted in a dress. I'm not your typical bride that wants a tulle skirt. I was willing to settle for chiffon, crepe, satin skirt but most definitely not tulle. I had booked a last minute appt hoping that they had room for me since it had not been confirmed yet. Low & behold Savannah called me 15 minutes before my appt and confirmed that she was able to accommodate me! Savannah was very kind, caring & listened to every single detail that I wanted. Being a bigger bride, the hardest thing is trying something on that doesn't fit. Savannah was able to help me find dresses in my size & other dresses that fit the vision I had for my dress with little to no additional alterations! Being that this was the 6th shop I knew exactly what I wanted and what I didn't even want to bother putting on! I am so happy that I was able to work with Savannah & able to narrow down to 1 dress that I loved but needed the whole bridal party to come back and see the dress. The entire experience with Savannah was such a joy and my whole bridal party & I was very impressed with the experience! Can't wait to come back for the bridesmaids dresses as well! read more

Very very poor experience working with Pure Bridal, even with the owner Rita. I wouldn't even give them one star. They tell me to order a size 14, I laughed and told them, I'm 140 lbs and a size 6, I order a 12 and they were hesitant - even though they didn't take my measurements. They should know just from my weight that I'm not a 12 or a 14, if they were knowledgeable. Now, I'm told I have to spend $160 on alterations on a $150 dress, where they have to take the whole dress apart as it is sliding off of me. Rita the owner suggests I drive 3 hours to Ames from the cities to get $20 off alterations there and 3 hours back. Horrible!! read more

I loved the dress selection but hardly saw anything I wanted! I called ahead saying I wanted a wide variety - communicated multiple times preferences of material & some dresses I liked were all over the place granted but I felt like I didn't have much of a voice or say & tried on different versions of the same dress type & style. I am not one to be pushed either so I verbally asked for the different styles (mermaid, satin) I was brought 1 satin dress but similar style to every princess dress I received. Just frustrated & felt like I missed out on a lot of the dresses especially when I said that I loved a lot in the windows & wasn't brought to any other location but the back - would've liked to walk around a bit more & maybe I should've voiced that more than asking if these were the only dresses in my size...absolutely loved my assistant just am the second family member to feel this way, but am a bit more vocal. Otherwise lovely dress selection from what I could see. Again, amazing staff just felt a bit frustrated by the end of my visit. read more

The place itself was not bad, but the people working there were not great. If you go I would recommend NOT working with a girl named Ashlynn. She was rude, and would not let my mom or sister voice their opinions about any dresses. She would not let my mom or sister browse the store with us, which they said was their rule, but they're was no one else in the store. After either me showing her pics of what I liked she still was not understanding what I was looking for because each dress she picked out, it was not me. My sister finally had had enough and took it upon herself to look around. No one else was in the store at the time, so my sister thought it would be okay. Ashlynn was not happy and continued to be even ruder after this incident. My sister found a gorgeous dress and told me so I told her to get it so I could try it on. Well thank god she found it because no one who worked in the store (even the owner) knew it existed. The dress was one of their more expensive dresses, and were still upset that they were not the ones to suggest it, even though we ended up buying it. When finally purchasing it she asked if we wanted storage. We said yes because I have nowhere to store it in my house. She did not mention that the storage was not included after you took the dress to alterations. They kept saying "Once the dress leaves the store it's yours" which makes no sense because I had already paid for it in full. The dress was already mine. It was a lot of money to not let us know that they would not accept the dress after my alterations appointment and were unable to guarantee that the dress could be stored anywhere else. I don't want to say the entire staff was bad because for my first fitting the girl I worked with was phenomenal, but again Ashlynn is horrible to work with. Disappointed. We drove from Ankeny and Cedar Falls to try and pick out bridesmaids dresses for my friend's wedding. We only need mine. The other girls are out of state and we're just going to order. The dresses here were beautiful, but quite expensive. They let us take a look at the dresses with an associate then we had to leave. They simply told us to look up the vendors site and that was how we could see the dresses without an appointment. Overall we went to another shop and found a beautiful gown! Overall the staff was friendly but need some customer service skills in handling turning away people. read more

I want to preface that I loved how the shop had different colored ribbons for the different price ranges. I think it's a great way to keep a bride from falling in love with a dress they can't afford. I also found a dress I loved in a style I wanted for much less money than I had found elsewhere. I also liked shopping at a small boutique as opposed to a big chain. My problems came from a lack of professionalism with the staff and the owners. I started following them on Facebook after finding my dress because I was so excited about the experience. It was short lived as I found that the owners/staff seemed to use Facebook as a forum to bash customers. This just really bothered me, I don't like working with unprofessional people even if I'm not involved in the situation. Later I put in an order for my bridesmaids dresses. I found the dress the color and a shop a shop that had them cheaper. Pure Bridal will price match with any brick and mortar store. I wasn't given any guidance as to when my bridesmaids needed to order by. My wedding was in May. I had the girls place the order in December. The store one did not keep any of my previous info and gave me a hard time about the price it wanted to have the dresses price matched too. They also told me I was cutting it close with ordering the dresses too and made me feel rushed and pressured when ordering the dresses. They wanted me to pay $20 extra per dress to have them rush delivered. I know the ladies that own this store are young and that could be part of the problem but they really need to work in their professionalism. read more

I am really surprised to see the negative reviews on here because my wedding dress purchase experience with Pure Bridal has been great. I found an Allure dress that I loved, but no store in the Kansas City area where I live carried it. Allure's website said Pure Bridal carried it, so I set up an appointment for Easter weekend when I would be in the area visiting family. The staff was very helpful to me, and gracious to the 3 people I'd brought along. They have nice seating areas with large mirrors and comfortable couches for family and friends, and nice big dressing rooms. They helped me select a few options other than the dress I came to see, and were happy to help me try them on even after it was clear the Allure dress was the one :) They made excellent suggestions for a sash and veil which I also purchased. I did not feel rushed even on a busy Saturday. I liked that they had a big selection of on-trend but moderately priced dresses. I didn't want something super cheap (I'd tried on dresses at David's Bridal where the fabric felt like plastic) but could not afford to spend thousands either. My sash and veil arrived well before my dress but they stored them for free so I could pick them up all together. I picked up my dress this weekend, and they were so gracious with helping me try it on even though it was again a busy Saturday, I had to change my time last minute due to travel delays, and they were down a consultant. I would recommend this store to any bride in central Iowa! read more

I bought my dress here in August 2014 for my May 2015 wedding. I really liked the shopping experience and the girl helping me was very friendly. She definitely pulled the right dresses for me and I ended up finding the perfect dress. I also really enjoyed the laid back shopping and the other staff that was helping out. My problem was in the follow up appointments. I had a different girl every time and nobody was coordinated in their knowledge. I had a corset back on my dress and only one girl out of 3 could lace it properly. One girl started on it and gave up and got someone else. I brought my bridesmaids in to shop for dresses and that was a nightmare. The salesgirl was unorganized, had no clue about me or my wedding (Which, I spent $3k on a dress and had been in the shop 2x prior - and once that week. Someone should've remembered me or at least had a file to know I had purchased my dress there!) and she kept trying to get my girls to try on dresses that were leaps and bounds out of price range. I ended up not getting my bridesmaids dresses from there because of the terrible appointment. I wouldn't necessarily recommend Pure Bridal to a newly engaged bride, but I wouldn't bash them either. I loved my dress and it came out flawlessly and in a timely manner to get my dress altered. Also, if you want to have your dress stored at Pure Bridal, you have to pay a $50 insurance/storage fee. I would rather that price be included in the cost of my dress than have to be nickel and dimed when I already spent thousands. read more

I had a great experience at Pure Bridal. The staff were very nice. Our first appointment was for bridal gowns. This was my first time ever trying on a dress. My guests were able to bring their own champagne and have some while I was in and out of dresses. I loved that we were able to take pictures of the gowns I liked, made it easier to make the decision to come back and purchase the one I tried on! I love my dress! Second appointment was for bridesmaids. We found the dress we wanted relatively quickly and ordered them. They aren't in yet, but we love them! Third appointment was to pick up my dress (yay!) and flower girl dresses. The store was packed and we waited longer than usual, but the staff was working as hard and fast as they could. My dress is incredible, even better brand new. The flower girls dresses were around $180, which is more than I was willing to spend, but they were adorable. We didn't end up getting the flower girls from here. read more

I've waited awhile to post my review. I wanted time to think to make sure it wasn't a split second reaction but I'm still mad about the whole process so here is how I was treated. After seeing they carried Casablanca dresses I made an appointment. I told them I was coming to look at both Bridal gowns and Bridesmaid dresses. We had a 1.5 hour drive. When we got there and I was happy to see big selection they had. The gal asked what I was looking for and the other usual questions. She pulled a few gowns she thought I'd like. I asked if we (my mother and SIL) could look as well. She looked a little unsure but said ok. We took 4 to the room. After I put the 4 on she asked if I had made a choice I said I wanted to look more they have a TON of gowns so I didn't want to miss anything... :O) That night I think we counted at least 4 girls working we were the only ones there. Two of the other gals came over and asked what I was looking for and pulled a few others. As I was getting into the dress I ended up selecting again someone stuck their head into the dressing room and told the gal helping me "you have 10 mins" I looked at her and said OH you are closing and she said no. Then I realized even though we were the only ones in the store I only had an hour appoitment. This really bugged me yes I undertsand needing to have those on the weekends when you are busy but I made it for durning the week so I could spend longer looking for the dress I wanted. The part of the fun of being a bride and searching for that perfect gown. After I made the dress selection I told them ok now time for BM dresses they told me I could look but wouldnt have time to try anything on. Half was to be paid at the time of ordered then within two weeks the other half was due. They emailed me a copy of the invoice to pay the remainder. They stated they would call when the dress came in I would have two weeks to pick it up or they would charge a storage fee and insurance fee to keep it there. I told them I would be picking it up. First part of August I found a BM dress I loved I emailed them to see if they had it and they did. A week or so later I emailed again to see if my dress had come in as I hadn't heard anything about it. This is what I was told. "we called you Aug 6th and left you a voice mail tomorrow will be the two week mark so you will be charged the storage and insurance fee" I picked up the phone and called. What happened next I am still shaking my head about. I said since I'm calling to find out where my dress is I didn't get the voicemail. They then told me they would extend the pick up date by 3 days.. Again I live 1.5 hours away and with that short of notice there was no way I'd be able to make that work. I asked why they didn't call again if the bride hadn't returned their call about her dress. They said they didn't like to harass brides that somtimes they like to take time to think about their dress (THINK ABOUT WHAT PICKING UP A DRESS THAT IS ALREADY PAID FOR)?? And it's not harassing if you haven't heard back from someone in two weeks. They told me since it's the number I gave them that it's the number they left the vm at they didn't feel that they should have to call again. I said thats fine but you've emailed me why would you send a follow up email? At that point they asked me when I could come pick it up..4 days later I made it there. I mean really you make one call. Maybe someone miss dialed?? That happens too. Funny how the one time they couldnt reach me is the time it would cost me money in the end. AND WOW did I get an ICEY welcome. To the point my BM's were complaing. They give you a 20% of discount if you get your BM dresses there with your bridal gown so again we looked. THey had sold the BM dress I wanted to look at (didnt know that eaither until we got there) Found one we really liked. But saving the 20% just wasn't worth it. Found the same dress for $30 more a dress in my local town and going to pay it to avoid having to deal with this store. ALSO check your gown prices they say the have the lowest retial price possible but I've found 3 different dresses that they carry for much less at multiple bridal stores in Iowa. read more

Since I'm not local to Ames, I didn't end up going with a dress from Pure Bridal, but I would whole-heartedly recommend Pure Bridal. I feel very fortunate that they were able to start me on my search for the perfect dress, as I learned how a bride should feel through an appointment. I've since visited other bridal boutiques and been unimpressed with the service. Ashley, my attendant, managed to pamper me completely. I felt heard, received helpful advice, and never felt any pressure to commit to buying a dress when I wasn't ready. The selection was incredible. read more

I give this company no stars. I have a wedding in two days and they just informed me of the dress needing to be hand made and won't be ready for months. While ordering the website did not state that the dresses are handmade. Then it gives the option for 3-5 shipping days. There is no number to speak to a human being. When you order it gives you the option of selecting a wear date which I did. I can't believe that my friends wedding is going to be ruined because of false advertising or lack of. They just informed me today which is only two days from the wedding that it won't be ready until January. Where am I going to find a purple dress now. Do not use this site unless you have time for them to go sheer sheep, make string, and hand stitch your dress. Unbelievable!!!! read more

My first appointment at Pure Bridal was okay. The associate was very new but still very helpful. I ended up pulling a dress by chance that I ended up loving, but since I had some other appointments at other salons I didn't say Yes that day. I went back later in January knowing it was my dress... I put it back on and said let's do it! The associates were always very helpful when I stopped in and had my accessories appointment... and even just going in to check out veils they helped me into my dress to see the full look. read more

My experience with Pure Bridal was by far the worst bridal experience to encounter. When arriving for my appointment, I was greeted by the sales person in charge of my appointment. I wasn't allowed to explore the dresses on my own, neither were my bridal party. We were told several times to sit down during the appointment, as the dresses would be brought to us. They put me in probably twenty odd dresses in the course of two hours, at the two hour mark, they started rushing me to find my dress, I picked my dress out. I said "yes" to the dress as Ashlynn and Rita urged me to. I then paid for the dress in full on May 30th, 2018. I got an email stating that the "estimated" ship date for my dress would be September 4th of 2018. After that initial appointment and email, I didn't hear anything from Pure Bridal. After 3 weeks past the estimated ship date, I had my mother contact the store to see where my dress was as I have been traveling with my military fiancé. Only to find out, my dress had not been shipped yet and they didn't know how to track where it was. I then called the store and Ashlynn answered the phone and immediately passed the phone off to Rita, only to hear how frustrated I was with them not knowing where my dress was. After explaining my frustration and that I had moved my wedding date up due to an elopement, Rita then got snippy with me and copped an attitude, stating they didn't know I had moved my wedding date up in which I didn't think it was any of their business. She was really rude to me on the phone as I was very agitated as any bride would be in this situation. Rita kept reiterating that my ship date was only an "estimation" and not an exact date. Let me remind you, I bought this dress in May, it is now September and no dress in hand. Rita was very unprofessional in stating, "Do you expect us to keep track of the hundreds of dress orders we have every day"? "Do you expect me to contact you every day to let you know what's going on with your dress"? INCREDIBLY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Rita stated she contacted the designer and it is supposed to ship out in the next week, I told her I expect it in the next ten days but I highly doubt I get notified when the dress has arrived. I have NEVER dealt with such an unprofessional, rude, "customer oriented", affiliation in my life. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. UNORGANIZED. RUDE. PUSHY SALES.
