MIAMI MOCHA
Leland L.

I get the hype!! Miami mocha smoothie was delicious. Thick and creamy and not icy at all. And didn't taste like straight protein powder which I always appreciate. Definitely would come back next time I'm near a pura vida to try more!

STEAK & EGGS

The steak and eggs were delicious! Steak was perfectly seasoned and so tender A tad bougie for my own sake, but if you're into the healthier type of breakfast at hipster type restaurants - this a can't miss.

The ambiance of this place is awesome for the summertime...IF you can find a seat. It is really packed and crowded in there and it's hard to hear people talk. The upstairs section is always closed when I have gone and the food is overpriced and mediocre at best. It's all smoke and mirrors, it looks way nicer than it is. The staff is friendly and nice and they have plenty of unisex bathrooms.

This was such a good find. Fresh, delicious and I love that they put the tahini on the side so I can drizzle whatever amount I want on my tasty salmon bowl. It was very filling and it paired nicely with my oat milk cappuccino. We also ordered the lox and bagels which were tasty and fresh as well. I will return yes of course and thank you for such speedy and friendly service.

Great place! I ordered the empanada trio, which came with one chicken empanada and one beef empanada, as well as one spinach and cheese empanada. The empanadas also came with a couple different sauces. For a drink, I had a cappuccino. My food and drink were great, and the service was also great! I also liked the exterior and interior of the place...

Since I arrived, my experience at Pura Vida has been fantastic. From ordering and the environment to the service and food, everything is organic and tasty. Absolutely a 10 out of 10. It truly feels like Miami.

Herb salad with TUNA SALAD SIDE

I'm in love with this place! The transition they've made from the former (commissary) which we all loved as a neighborhood gem has transformed into the bright new spot on the block! In its short time of being open, I've already been to this place five times. They are dog friendly and have an amazing selection of healthy smoothies and food. Currently have been for breakfast, lunch and dinner! All three superb.

We ordered the blueberry pancakes and the chicken and waffles. Both were amazing, soft juicy and delicious. Overall for these two dishes be paid $25 per person after tip and tax (they have a 20% gratuity charge) - but I still found the pricing to be decent for the quality. They have a lot of indoor space with natural light. The servers were also very accommodating. I will definitely be back to try the French toast and the basque cheesecake

The menu is filled with typical diner options but with upgraded twists. My partner had hash browns and a biscuit. Both were homemade. The biscuit was flaky and served with butter and jam. I had the loaded breakfast biscuits which were incredible. Flaky biscuit, hash browns, homemade sausage, over easy eggs, Caramelized onions, and BACON JAM!! Everything was perfect but the kicker was the slightly sweet and sour bacon jam which added an amazing depth of flavor. The service was great and friendly with plenty of tables. They even have a full baking kitchen for all desserts, breads, and biscuits. Check out Unconventional Diner if you're in DC.

Wow x3 If you love steak, gourmet cocktail, comfort food…read morewith a fine dining twist - this is the place. This place definitely lives up to its name! Place: it has more of a casual feeling with some ambience. Feels comfortable with wooden furnitures. Service: I believe we had Micah who was just exceptional- very personable and gave us the perfect recommendations. Fast and prompt service. Food: every dish we ordered was amazing. Cobb salad was really great- but the bacon on top was theee best bacon I've ever had. I've been content with just that order. Amazing oysters- fresh and condiments went very well. Now steak was Cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Now-- I am not a "bread lover" but Micah said the place was known for its biscuit (they charge for it and I would too if it's this good). Told him about my lukewarm love for the bread and he said "I would order it for educational purposes". I like education , especially this kind of education so I did- and yes, it is true. It was theee highlight of the night. Oh it's special. Crispy- and buttery almost like half croissant and half biscuit. The jam and pimemto cheese just out of this world. We actually came home and researched the recipe of "wanna be- st. Anselm biscuit" Definitely one of the best educational experience I've had. Price: I thought it was reasonable. Great portion of food that's why. St. Anselm - thank you and we shall make some excuse to come back to DC to come here again.

The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and a nice treat for the table. The breakfast potatoes were so crispy it was genuinely a marvel. The brunch fare other than that was quite standard, and solid. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. That said, there were a few things I would love to see. The coffee/tea menu wasn't quite too extensive for a brunch spot (would have loved more non-coffee drinks). There are also some upcharges to be aware of not on the menu (like cheese in eggs), which is not all too uncommon for brunch but still something to note!

What a special place in Washington, DC we have here…read more It is said a lot of members of congress dine here and I can understand why. Everything is delicious here!!! I started here for my birthday with some escargots, fantastic. Pro-Tip: Don't forget you can dip that terrific breadbasket they give you with some of the leftover garlic sauce from your escargots. We both decided to split the Beef Bourguignon. The most tender beef you can imagine, you do not need a knife to eat, and it was accompanied with buttery goodness in the creamy potatoes and some carrots for good measure. For dessert we ordered the vanilla bean crème brûlée. French dessert at a French restaurant was a no brainer. The top of the dessert packed a crispy, sugary, slightly burnt tasting palate cleanser that definitely will keep you a pick me up, who needs an ECT shock to get the heart going when you can take a scoop of pure sugary bliss! This is a must go to if you are in the DC area, but be sure to make reservations it fills up quickly. As always people SYOY!!!

The cheese puffs and artichokes were mediocre, and the macarons were fine but nothing memorable. The tarte flambée was slightly below average. It tasted mostly like cheese and fat, with none of the depth or balance I expected. The biggest disappointment was the steak au poivre. We ordered it medium rare, which our server specifically said was also the chef's recommendation, but it arrived somewhere between medium and medium well. More surprisingly, it was one of the toughest steaks I have ever eaten. At $49, that is unacceptable. The mashed potatoes were equally disappointing: bland, not buttery, and nothing like the rich French pommes purée I expected. We also ordered the carrots, but they never arrived. At least we were not charged for them. The crème brûlée was good, but a good crème brûlée could not redeem the meal. The service was attentive and polished. The restaurant was also nearly empty at 5 p.m. on a Friday, with only one other table occupied inside and a few people outside, which in hindsight may have been a warning sign. Beautiful room, decent service, deeply disappointing food. I would not return.

Great food, incredible service, and such a cute intimate brunch spot!…read more I went to Tiffany's Bar and Bistro in DC for Sunday brunch with my family, and we had such a good experience. This is a cute American-Mediterranean spot with an intimate atmosphere, beautiful decor, and not too many tables, which made it perfect for a relaxed family brunch. It wasn't overly loud or crowded, and the service was incredible from start to finish. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. I started with an espresso martini, and this was a 10/10 honestly, a thousand out of 10 . It was strong, delicious, and one of my favorite espresso martinis I've had recently. For an appetizer, we got the Sampler of All, which lets you try several of their spreads. We tried the chickpea tahini, Hripiti with roasted red pepper, Greek feta and fresh thyme, Greek yogurt with Persian cucumber and dill, and beet labneh with walnuts. My favorite was definitely the Hripiti the roasted red pepper and feta combination was so good! The sampler was definitely different from what I expected, but I liked being able to try several of the spreads. For my entrée, I had the short ribs and eggs, which I believe was an off-menu option. It was DELICIOUS. I actually took some home, and it reheated really well the next morning for breakfast, which is always a win! My family also ordered the shrimp and grits, Wagyu burger, pistachio French toast, and Ciftlik Breakfast with scramble and rose & cardamom biscuits. Everything we tried was really good, and there was a nice variety of sweet and savory options for everyone. Another thing I loved was that brunch was pretty reasonably priced for DC. We spent less than $50 per person, including drinks, which I thought was a great value considering the quality of the food, cocktails, service, and overall experience. The service was probably one of my favorite parts of the experience. Our server was very attentive and paid attention to the little details without being overbearing. You could tell they genuinely cared about making sure we were enjoying ourselves. And the decor is so cute! They have a little swing that we took pictures on, which was a fun touch and definitely added to the experience. Overall, Tiffany's was exactly the type of brunch spot I enjoy good food, strong cocktails, beautiful surroundings, great service, and an intimate atmosphere where you can actually sit, talk, and enjoy your meal. I'll definitely be back to try their dinner and happy hour. Definitely recommend checking out Tiffany's if you're looking for an American-Mediterranean spot in DC!

The food, however, was unfortunately very mediocre. We came for brunch on a Sunday around 11 and the place seemed dead. Both my French toast & bacon were overcooked to almost burnt and didn't taste very good as a result; the French toast was also served without syrup, and when I asked for some, it caused some sort of commotion in the kitchen that we could hear. It sounded like the regular chef wasn't in yet or something & whoever was cooking kept telling the server there was no syrup until the server got fed up & got it himself. Just bizarre. I'm rounding up to 3 stars because I loved our server, a mature gentleman who was funny & did an excellent job, but the food missed the mark.
