Food : 10/10! Can't go wrong with an açaí bowl after a workout or just something to eat in general! My go to here has to be the cacao bowl, I'm not much of a chocolate fan. But honestly the cacao bowl is delicious! It's not too sweet, just the right amount of sweet and chocolate-ness. It comes with strawberry and banana as the fruits. It's just the PERFECT bowl honesty. Recently tried the tropical bowl and it was also delicious! Not a fan of the Amazon bowl, but honestly all the bowls are good, it just depends on your preference of taste. Perfect amount of toppings to go with it. The açaí and topping ratio is perfect. Service : 10/10 if Matt is there! He's fast and efficient. Other days it does get kind of busy so just be patient there's only I believe one or two workers during a shift. Ambiance : spacious inside, plenty of seating area inside and out. When we pulled up, I didn't realize there were two restaurants in one. The other is Nguyen's Kitchen. Their menu looked awesome. I will check them out soon. The parking lot is spacious. The restaurant is very clean and has some booth seating. I love acai, and when I checked out their website, I thought the prices were great compared to other places. They base their prices on the size bowl you order (12, 16 or 24 oz), not what you add to your bowl. So it's a flat rate. I like that. I got the Superfood Bowi with acai and mango base, but they have a wide selection to choose from. Both were good, but the mango was my favorite. They also have lots of toppings (fruits, chia pudding, nuts, cocoa nibs, and all kinds of superfoods). I topped mine off with granola, peanut butter and bananas. Sounds like an odd combo, but it was delicious. I really enjoyed my bowl and will definitely come back again. They're also open REALLY late. So if you're ever in the mood for a healthy, late night snack, give them a try!! read more

They are PACKED, and when I came in the ORDER was NOT ready. Usually they have it done and ready to pick up! I have to sit here and wait. Overall tho, they have customers. People are waiting in line for the açaí but they are short staffed at 11pm at night on a Wednesday. I'm only picking up one bowl. L shape restaurant with 2 sides food and dessert sides which is genius and good vibes and energy in here! LED lights and much seating and parking but they need more people working. That's all. They also need to clean the bathroom smelled like shit and clean the tables because people are leaving them dirty. The trash cans are filled to the top. read more

Had a craving for an acai bowl and wanted a light dinner and ended up at Pur Bowls. Came in on a Friday night and the shop was pretty busy and there were a few people in line. Our bowls is one of the few acai bowl places to close late. Decided to get the 16oz bowl with mango and acai base with vanilla chia pudding, strawberries, mangoes, bananas, granola, almonds, and agave. Service was quick, the girl behind the counter allowed us to sample the bases and gave her recommendations. Definitely would come back, but not on a busy night. read more

I just happened to be in the area to pick up some things and saw there was an Açaí place nearby. Boy am I glad I stopped. You can create your own bowl or enjoy their premade combinations. I went with creating my own and their choices for bases is great. There is açaí, cacao, coco-lina, coconut, matcha. Several chia pudding options, and lots of fruit toppings. My bowl: Açaí and Coco-Lina base, Vanilla chia pudding. Blueberries, mango, toasted coconut, hemp seed, almond butter, goji berries, honey, matcha powder. Wow, an Acai spot opened until 1 am; that's a dream come true. The shop itself is very well-kept with plenty of seats and is shared with another restaurant. The workers are friendly and knowledgeable. However, the service was extremely slow the night we went. There was nobody ahead of us, but they were working on an Uber Eats order(the order was a single acai bowl). It took us 30 mins to get our acai bowl made. Perhaps it was a bad night. I love the various combination possibilities that can be crafted. They have the bar laid out like a Chipotle or Subway. You select your ice cream/acai base first (they allow for samples, and you can mix two in one bowl), then you can choose various chia seeds (flavored puddings and plain), then fruits, and finally toppings! Everything is quality. The small size was the perfect amount for me. I did notice they didn't have prices listed anywhere. The small custom bowl is $10, the regular is $12, and I'm assuming the large is $14. Though the price is steep, it's important to note that they don't charge for toppings, so if it fits in the bowl, it works. If you do want some toppings to take home on the side, then it's $0.75. Very cool spot and probably the highest quality acai I've had in the States. Definitely check them out :) P.S - if you are a chocolate lover then you will be happy to know they have chocolate ice cream base, chocolate chia pudding, chocolate granola, and chocolate nibs. The only thing they are missing is Nutella, I think that is a staple for acai. Instead they have Hershey's chocolate syrup which is average. Regardless, they have you covered on the chocolate. read more

Order the Island Bowl and thank me later. The small option is more than enough. I'd say the medium and large can be spilt. The atmosphere at their Carson location is pretty cool. Absolutely delicious! I got the Açaí bowl...decided to try the Mango purée base and I'm so glad i did. It's my new favorite! Excellent customer service. They were very generous with the toppings. You don't see that much anymore. I will definitely be returning again and again. read more

4 Stars for the food 2 Stars for service I love that there is an actual good acai bowl in Carson. Located in the same building as Nguyen's Kitchen, plenty of parking. For the bowls, they have plenty of choices for the base-- pitaya, acai, mango, cacao, coconut, cocolina, berry. You can choose 2 bases and it comes with unlimited toppings, from fruits, granola, pudding, seeds. That in itself is a great deal, and their blends are delicious. I had a great first time experience. We were helped quickly, blends were explained, and service was okay. After that I kept coming back since it was open late. Unfortunately, as I kept coming back, service just got slower and unsatisfactory. I placed an online order thinking it would ready on time, however, upon arrival for my pick up time, I saw my ticket order still on the machine at the checkout counter. It was understandable since they were kind of busy. But I saw her take the ticket, and set it aside and continue to help the line inside. Okay, still waiting. By then, she passed the ticket to someone to help her but they just kept passing the order. By the time I received my bowls, it was 30 mins past pick up time, and to find out one of the bowls were missing a base. The staff are nice, but the service is very slow and they need a better online order system. They definitely need more workers especially at night when they get busy. It is better to order in store than online. I probably wouldn't go back until they're a little more efficient. If you have plenty of time and wouldn't mind waiting, then this is your spot. read more

There is a 24 Hour Fitness right across the street from this acai place and I stumbled upon it looking for something healthy after working out. The location is in a shopping center and around 11am on a Saturday, there was plenty of parking available. Inside was a little dark as far as lighting goes. Plenty of tables to dine in as they also have a separate restaurant Inside the same location. The person who helped me was just ok. It was my first time there but she didn't offer any assistance. She actually added both chia puddings when I inquired about them, but maybe she didn't hear or understand me. The fruit selection was minimal, about 5 items to choose from, so that wasn't impressive. I've been on a Acaí kick for about 2 years now trying various places and even making my own. All of the places claim to have pure acaì which I don't know what's pure or not, but this location's acaí definitely tastes as if they've added something to it. The texture was also a lot creamier than other places but if it's because they added fillers, that defeats the purpose of eating something healthy. Overall the bowl was ok, I rate it a 6/10. read more

Dear Yelpers, I'm a first time customer. When I walked into PUR's establishment, I immediately felt positive energy before I even spoke to an employee. When I spoke to the employees (Mya Crystal & Cameron) I got positive vibes from them. I also love how they let me get a sample the ice cream (due to my indecisiveness ) PUR has a very decent selection of Vegan Friendly ice cream options. My go-to is the Thai Tea mixed with creamer with light ice. As for ice cream, its the Mango with Chamoy with pineapples and Tahine... The workers, environment and ice cream were all impeccable! Mya, Crystal and Cameron are keepers, giving them a raise would be an investment. PUR has gained a new customer. read more

Love, love, love this place! I first came into Pur Bowls for a private Yelp event. I'm so glad I went, because I don't think I would of known about this place otherwise. It's literally a mile from my house and I passed by it often and never saw it! It's a shared space with another one of their restaurants, FYI. The açaí bowl side of the restaurant is right there at the front door, so you can't miss it. Every time I come in the staff greet me right away. They are always so pleasant, and the place is nice and clean. Everything is so well organized and labeled. I love the choices of açaí flavors. You can choose two flavors as your base, then load it up with whatever your heart and tastebuds desire. I always describe this place like a Subway for açaí bowls- just go down the line and let'em load you up! I tend to build mine a little more like a dessert, but again, you can make them as healthy or decadent as you like. I wanna say there's at least 30 different topping options you could load up on. For $10 (size small) I get a HUGE bowl overflowing with GF granola, chia pudding, berries, banana, honey, shaved coconut, bee pollen, chocolate shavings, flax seed, and agave nectar; just to name a few. This is an amazing place to grab an açaí treat. I definitely recommend trying Pur Bowls. It's money we'll spent and will leave you satisfied for hours. read more

The Build your Own Large 24oz Bowls are straight fire! Portions, ingredients, servers, and late night hours (open until 1am) are so on point! Their açaí is made with only water, açaí, guar gum, vegetable fiber, locust bean gum, and citric acid that they get specifically made for their store. Yay for no added cane sugar, banana, or weird preservatives. In a large size you can get up to 3 base flavors. You only need a small amount of almond butter topping to get the rich flavor it provides. The fruit is super fresh and they'll cut it right in front of you. Any bowl you make will be delicious as their ingredients are very high quality and they are generous with toppings. Some workers have a hard time hearing you so try to speak over the glass rather than into it and stand in line on the side rather than in front of the entrance doors. Dine in at their big sit down tables or take out with you - very clean and extremely filling! A late night fruit filled delicacy instead of coma-inducing ice cream. Ps. The cacao base tastes like smooth, rich, chocolate ice cream so you won't need too much of it. Their açaí, though basic, is forever my go-to. Picture 1: Build your Own Large 24oz Bowl: cacao + pitaya red dragon fruit base, half cacao + vanilla chia pudding, blueberries, strawberries, mango, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, goji berries, dates, light cacao syrup + almond butter Picture 2: Build your Own Large 24oz Bowl: açaí + cocolina (pineapple, coconut, blue spirulina, mango) base, vanilla + cacao chia pudding, fresh mango, blueberries, goji berries, hemp seeds, + small drizzle of almond butter on top Picture 3: Antioxidant juice - be warned, it's veryyy sweet and I personally wouldn't order that again! 062323 read more

After reading a lot of reviews and coming to experience it for ourselves we have some personal feedback for Pur Bowls. Came Sunday around 5:35pm. Açaí bowl - we got a large size 24oz $15 Yes they give you a large amount of açaí itself but the fruit/toppings are not generous portions. One of the reviewers said the granola was stale and I do agree with them. I'm not a big fan of their granola. It literally taste like oatmeal that's uncooked. It's not crunchy. It's flat. I also see why everyone orders in because service is slow. There were 3 employees there. I definitely recommend calling in. We drove 15-20 mins to try a new spot. It was ok, tbh I wouldn't come here again unless it's something in the area I was craving to scratch the itch. Nice presentation for a ig moment but everything was a little underwhelming based on our experience. The yelpers who didn't give a full 5 star experience were spot on, so appreciate the honest feedback especially if you're traveling longer distance. [Review #729] 2023-015 Food Order: SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE CUSTOMIZED SUPERFOOD BOWLS (varied bases: açaí, coco-lina, mango, pitaya, pur berry; varied options: vanilla chia pudding, classic granola, banana, pineapple, mango, strawberry, blueberry, almond butter, toasted coconut flakes, toasted almonds, seeds (flax, hemp, chia, pumpkin), goji berries, dried cranberries, bee pollen, agave syrup Bowl Specialist: May/Diandre/Megan/Jewel Manager: Jerico Service/Vibe: friendly, helpful, creative/great place to chillax (why you ask... they open "crazy late" until 1:00 AM... what!?! O_o) Restroom: men's & women's restroom to the right of entrance around the corner. I liked how it's away from the dining area; however, the women's layout is awkward. The hand dryer is next to the sink, but the paper towels are on the opposite by the door so you're dripping water on the floor. It's an accident waiting to happen; I suggest a water-resistant mat to prevent injuries. Since the Yelp Elite Experience [Review #723], my son & I have been coming back almost every week, twice if we can't help it; we know our bowlologists by name due to our frequent visits. ;-) Pur Bowls is located in South Bay Plaza off Dominguez St., across from IKEA. The açaí shop shares the space with Nguyen's Kitchen & are under the same owner. If you're a newb to the açaí bowl space, you might start off with a bowl from their signature menu. M liked the Cacao Signature Bowl, but was cacao-ed with so much chocolate. After the initial visit, we've been customizing our superfood bowls; with so many base & topping options, you can create hundreds of different combinations/flavor profiles... yum-o-yum, imagine the possibilities. ヽ(ヅ)ノ M has pretty much abandoned our local fav in favor of PB (his secret nickname so his sis doesn't find out... LOL). Each & every customized bowl has been "pure" deliciousness!! I especially love the blended coco-lina, certainly ups the flavor base game... as far as I'm aware of, local & nonlocal açaí shops have at most 5 base flavors; at Pur Bowls, it's 8! \(*o*)/ Fresh, flavorful fruits combined with superfood toppings, it's the kind of treat that tastes great, & you can eat over & over again without the guilt. I love the marriage of flavors (you really can't go wrong on a customized bowl), ingredients' freshness, & most of all, the affordable pricing with generous toppings. Sign-up for their loyalty program to earn rewards (I'm about 1/2 way for a free large bowl); you earn 1 point/dollar. There are 4 rewards: 75 points = 1 free 20 oz. juice; 150 points = 1 free small bowl; 180 points = 1 free regular bowl; 225 points = 1 free large bowl (it's approximately 6.67% for a free bowl). Prices are on par with other S. Bay açaí bowl shops, except Pur Bowls is more generous with their portions... like really, really generous!! Menu Info: Sizes (3): small (12 oz.): $10, medium (16 oz.): $12, large (24 oz.): $15 Pur Bowls (8): Amazon, Cacao, Dragon, Green Goddess, Island, Mango Chamoy, Tropical, Very Berry; or build your own Superfood Bowl BYOB Info: Base Options (8): açaí, cacao, coco-lina, matcha, mango, pitaya (dragon fruit), pur berry, pur cocoa Topping Options (34): * chia pudding (4): vanilla, matcha, cocoa, turmeric cinnamon * granola (2): classic, cocoa * fruits (6): banana, pineapple, mango, strawberry, blueberry, apple * nut butter (3): peanut, almond, cashew * coconut shreds (3): sweet, toasted, raw * superfoods (16): toasted almonds, cacao nibs; seeds (4): flax, pumpkin, hemp, chia; goji berries; dried cranberries; dates; pink salt; bee pollen; powders (3): cacao, matcha, cinnamon; agave syrup 03/17/23 HOT TIP: For a limited time, check-in on Yelp for a BOGO free offer on a 16 oz. juice or 24 oz. bowl (walk-in customers only). However, when I returned the following day (03/18) & ordered a 24 oz. bowl, I received a small bowl instead of the large. NOTE (Pur Bowls Manager/Owner): While I'm grateful for this Yelp appreciation, it's confusing to your customers when you don't honor the written offer. We definitely been coming back a lot, & catching up to the current Duchess with the frequency of return trips. ;-) Pur Bowls has an edge with a larger base offerings than local & nonlocal açaí shops & competitive prices, & we love the great service & beautifully crafted bowls. Went as a Sunday treat with my husband and friend, the place was clean and aesthetic. The bowls were really good! I got acai, my husband got matcha and my friend asked for 2 flavors but only got Pitaya. That brings me to the only thing I didn't like which was the service. It was our first time there so we were a little overwhelmed and the workers seemed very annoyed, they didn't listen when my friend asked for two bases and hardly said a word to us even at the check out. Got the green goodness bowl. So the positives: the service was great, ambiance was clean, welcoming and modern. The bowl was dressed nice and pretty. However, there was more granola more than the ice cream (or whatever the base was). The matcha yogurt was only filled a quarter of the bowl, the rest was granola with strawberries topped with coconut shreds.
