Best Pizza you will ever eat! So light and flavorful, simply amazing. Only caveat is that you are bothered every TWO MINUTES by an employee. They are always nice, but me and my husband were really bothered by the constant hovering around us, refilling our water, and checking if they could take our plates away even though there was still pizza on it and I had a box to put my leftovers into. It was not even busy so why could we not eat in peace? Ask to management: please train your employees to only check in with a table 2-3 times tops! For a billion years we've loved the Pupatella on Wilson and were delighted when Mosaic opened so much closer to our home. We went in the other day for late lunch, and it was not busy. However, the service was absolutely abysmal. This was not our first visit, nor our first experience with bad service here. This is the first time I have felt compelled to say something about it. For some reason our server was absolutely riveted by whatever was happening with a blender at the bar. He would just hang there, at the bar, watching the bartender and this empty blender. Fascinating. My husband finally went up to the front counter to order and this same server said oh I'm your server I'll be right there. No. He absolutely could not pull himself from this blender. Occasionally another server would stop at the bar also, but none was so riveted as ours. It was ridiculous. We had to get up and ask for everything because, even though we were sitting in sight of the bar, this blender held all his attention. If Pupatella is going to insist on using servers (this is a newer concept for them, as you used to order at the counter and get your own water etc), they REALLY need to work on training. We love their pizza, but it is never a really great experience. read more

The Margherita pizza we had was absolutely amazing, the pizza was very balanced and the buffalo mozzarella cheese was really good, making it a hit among my friends and me. The experience was so good too as the service was amazing. Without a doubt, we'll be coming back for more! read more

The pizza was lackluster and the service was slow despite the restaurant being almost empty except for another table or two. The crust was soggy like others have mentioned and nothing tasted particularly fresh. Do not understand the 5 star reviews at all. I didn't have high expectations to begin with. read more

It was a total miss. I wanted to like it so bad but wasted my hard earned money on a soggy pizza and ridiculously wet Brussel sprouts (easy on the balsamic, it was so strong and liquidy I couldn't eat more than 2 without getting watery eyes). The pizza dough somehow seems burnt in the right way so I was excited but like other reviews... so soggy and zero structure. We got a plain cheese ( no other toppings to weigh it down) and it just bent like a loose paper. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because I could tell the Cheese & sauce were good ingredients- flavorful. But overall super disappointing experience. read more

We found ourselves in Mosaic looking for pizza. With Oath closed, we decided to give this place another try. I was happy to see that they now have a "wait to be served" sign, but boy, do they mean it! One server is going around us as we're waiting, attending to tables without even acknowledging that we're standing right there in front of him. Not a "hi," not a "I'll be right with you," nothing! It's as if we don't exist! We should have left right then... I had to stop him and ask him if we were going to be helped. We finally get seated, and then we wait for the menus to come. Finally, he takes our order, and the pizza comes after, you guessed it, quite a bit of wait. Someone drops off the pizzas on our table, but we don't have plates, silverware, or napkins on the table. We wait while our pizzas get ice cold, and we finally get what we need after I go and find some random staff member and returning. Our waiter apologizes and says he's very busy. I look around, and while the restaurant is not empty, it's also not overly busy. If overpriced mediocre cold pizzas are your thing, this is your place! For us, we won't be returning. read more

We came in to eat at the Reston location and it is freezing inside the restaurant. We asked them to fix the temperature and they said only the general manager can do that who comes to the restaurant only occasionally. Clueless and incompetent staff. Egh. I hate to give this place a bad review. Their pizzas are great, not amazing, but good. It's just that on my last visit, I was waiting for my order near the plexiglass prep area and saw a bunch of flies (fruit flies?) flitting around all the ingredients - the Parmesan, the basil, the sauce, and some other bowl (which may have been ricotta?) all there. It was kinda gross. The handler saw me stare at it and make a face and proceeded to wipe the counter, but that was it. It really made me kinda grossed out watching it. Pizza is usually reeeeeeally good at Pupatella. However, the pizza was served soggy, twice, even after I complained that the pizza wasn't cooked all the way through. Not sure if the reason is the plastic plate where it was served. Customer service is great but they need to get better at cooking the pizza dough all the way through! read more

Very happy they opened so close to my house. I used to have to drive quite a bit to get to one of their locations. We ordered pizza and bruschetta to go and it is just as excellent as their other locations. Being from Germany, and having real Italien food easily accessible, makes it hard to find good pizza in the states. This place is authentic and the next best thing to home or Italy i have found in the states. Thanks :) Best pizza Diavolo, Mushroom and Margherita in my opinion. Some of the no sauce pizzas have lighter flavor so it's whatever one may prefer. read more

This place has recently gone from an order/pay process to a service at table only and it has significantly impacted things not in a good way. What used to be a pleasant and easy dinner has turned into a slog waiting for the servers to bring basic things like water. They are polite and trying, but young and obviously poorly managed. The pizza remains good and we like the brussel sprouts, but we will be taking this one out of our rotation for our Friday pizza nights. read more

Really bad service. It says wait to be seated. No one ever comes. They walk past you. They ignore you. Seat yourself. Get your own menus. Take your own order. Terrible place. Ignorant staff. Lazy too. Tables do not get bussed quick enough. Food takes forever to come out. They do not ask what you want to drink. They've got plenty of empty tables and lots of waiting parties. Just need more attentive employees. Tried to order more food at the counter but as soon as you approach they walk away. It's like they don't want business they way they are lacking in every aspect. The pizza is absolutely phenomenal and for what you're getting it's reasonably priced. That said, the place could be a little cleaner overall. The plates and cups were a little dirty at the time. The place is new so I'm sure they'll improve, but that's why I didn't give them 5 stars. On a positive note, they're extremely attentive and the service is on point. I was in Philly a few weeks and ordered the mushroom pizza (I added sausage) from Pizzaria Vetri. Sooo delicious. I thought I'd try Pupatella's take. I ordered the mushroom pizza and added sausage, as well. I was pretty disappointed. The pizza itself lacked any flavor. I know I ordered a mushroom pizza, but there were A LOT of mushrooms on the pie. Overall, pretty bland. I will say the service was pretty good. Two thumbs up for that. read more

Just awful. It's not the same as the Arlington location. When we were there a few months ago and one of the cooks sneezed all over the food behind the counter a couple times I thought that wasn't great, but then the food wasn't very good. Ordered their version of a meat lovers pizza and a salad (the one with marinated anchovies). Overall it was good. The pizza was a bit one sided with the pepperoni which was disappointing since that meant 3 or so slices had none. We also felt the price was a bit high. $12 for a salad and $24 for a medium-ish sized pizza was a bit high in our opinion. But I guess it is what it is. Everything tasted great and overall we were happy we tried it. We will likely order here again. Its certainly better than other local pizzerias. read more

The quality of pizzas does not match up to the original Pupatella on Wilson Blvd. I am going to skip the one in Mosaic going forward.

I definitely recommend this place! Atmosphere is so nice, seats are comfortable, service is great, and the most important part- the food is excellent! They have both outdoor and indoor seating. We came with our two kids. I put in an order for the meatballs and two pizzas. The meatballs were excellent. One of the pizzas came out decent. However, the second pizza was raw. We indicated this to our waitress. The assistant manager came by to speak with us. Right out of the gate, he said, "You ate half of the pizza. I can't cook it more.". Ok, four people taking a slice to try it is half the pizza (These are small pizzas). Instead of being nice, he insinuated that we were trying to skip out on paying for our $15.00 pizza. My tip, paid upon ordering at the counter, was almost the cost of the pizza. Adding to the insult, he asked to touch the pizza. This was to make sure we didn't finish the rest of it. By the way, it is nasty and rude to stick your finger in someone's food and leave it on the table. After insulting us, he asked whether we wanted a coupon for a free pizza. We declined the coupon and said, " We would rather post a bad review versus getting a free pizza". I understand that kinks exist during opening a new place, but horrible management is INEXCUSABLE. Only comforting thing out of the experience is our tip went to the waitress and not him. Jake, assistant manager, you are incompetent! This was the worst experience ever.
