Still my favorite crisp pizza slice in the DMV. Their light flavors and style were some of the first we found here that got it right and kept it easy for ingredients and their options. Over the years the only bad thing has been all the other locations have kind of dried up. This location is the last real good bastion of the era when they had the contract in the nationals arena for great slices. Something everyone is missing out on for history. It's exactly what it should be and if it were closer we'd still be picking up all the time. The only other close to this simplicity is another regional chain that is nearby in Tysons and Fairfax. 14 years between reviews here and it has held up for what the brand offers. When I walked in, it reminded me of a New York pizza shop! It was clean, and the service was very welcoming! The pizza was prepared so quickly! I liked the thin crust, and the Bronx was my favorite! I'd recommend adding chili flakes for an extra kick! The slices are HUGE! I had to eat it folded like a taco! The owner, Hasan, was so accommodating, and there was a party of 20 that ordered 10 pizzas! It was so cool to see him carrying out all the pizzas, one after the other, like your every day pizza man! FLIPPED OFF! This was a difficult review to write. I don't relish the task of writing a poor review. In this case, I felt cheated by the memory of what Flippin' Pizza was like when it first opened. Buyer beware! The current incarnation (11/23) of Flippin' Pizza in Falls Church is a poor, poor rendition of the original. We ordered three pies. All were undercooked, with a poorly developed crust. The crust actually tastes like they went down the street and picked up premade pizza dough at Giant. This does not resemble the original Flippin' Pizza in any way. We were able to salvage the slices by reheating them to make up for the undercooking. The crust is still gummy. I want these guys to be successful, but they need to find a way to step up their game. Fix the dough. Train the staff how to cook a pie in your oven. I'm hoping Flippin' gave you guys the dough recipes and baking procedures. There are many other better choices within a 5 mile radius now. Step it up or move on.... Even Dave Portnoy wouldn't touch this pizza. read more

First time visit in many years. Walked in and was surprised that it did not smell like a pizza place. Hmm...but ordered two slices and a drink from a very nice young woman. Pizza came out quick and was plenty hot and tasty. Was happy to see crushed red pepper available and the modern Coke machine. No other dine in customers while we were there and no one picking up carry out though there were plenty of boxes around the place. Seat cushion near where we sat was very torn, overall impression of being a bit run down but the pizza was good, Apple Pay worked (though the employee was surprised it worked as quickly as it did on my Apple Watch), and service was timely. I had two slices, Triboro (pepperoni, sausage and meatball) and a pepperoni slice. The slices were good, reasonably priced, I would have gladly paid more if the slices were bigger. My issue is the pace, or should I say lack of pace of service. I stopped in on a Friday evening, was promptly greeted and order was taken. The slices were sitting in display case and only needed to be heated up. Ten minutes later I asked when my order would be ready, response was soon, after sitting back down I saw two slices being removed from the case. Fifteen minutes to have slices warmed up will give me cause to pause before visiting again. The pizza was terrible last night - worst I've ever had from Flippin'. It looked like Salvador Dalí baked it - it was elongated like one of his melting clocks, and it was cut weird because of that. All the cheese was on one side, toppings on the other. It was cold by the time it got here, and it tasted funny, like they forgot an ingredient. It wasn't inedible, but I'm throwing out the leftovers. I don't think I've ever done that with pizza. I've eaten there a bit over the last year, and their food quality has continued to go down with each order. Service is fast, but not great. I had my pizza in about 55 minutes. They have no order tracking system, so when it arrives is always a surprise. After 45 minutes, their driver called and said he was "here". I asked if he was trying to get in the gate or if he was at the building. He responded with absolute gibberish. I told him I couldn't understand him. I repeated my question. He responded "driver" then hung up. I went to the front of my building and waited another 10 minutes for him. read more

What a fun neighborhood place! Went here for their $5 - 2 slices and a soda special and I thought it was surprisingly edible! Like other yelpers recommended, I got the cheese and tomato basil. Unfortunately, I went on a Sunday night close to closing time, so their selection was pretty limited. The person behind the counter had dark humour, so that was a fun treat as well. It was really "family friendly" here, so if I was in high school, I could see how it could be a pretty fun hang-out spot. Black and white pictures from NYC adorn the walls, which give it a pseudo NY Deli feel. The pizza was fine, but I felt like the meat toppings were a little bland. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not my thing. I'll keep Paradiso as my primary pizza joint, the Italian Store as my backup, but if in the neighborhood, this could be a good backup to the backup. I ordered two pizzas through Ubereats, and one of the pizzas was incorrect (ordered a triboro, got a cheese). Placed an online order for pickup directly through their website at 8:30 pm, with an estimated 20-minute turnaround time. Got a call from the "manager" about 5 minutes later saying he is about to walk out the door and that I should just use "the Internet" to get my refund because they close and there's no one to cook at this time (their website says online orders are open through 9 pm). The online order confirmation page literally only shows the shop's direct phone number as the only place to contact in case of any questions or issues with tje order, which I tried to explain to the guy on the phone and ask him where should I get the refund from - and he just kept saying "The Internet, how don't you get it?!", even after I pointed out to him "The Internet" has billions of websites. I even offered him to drive by the shop so he can give me the refund in-person if he can only wait for me to get there (I was in my car and 4 minutes away and told him about this) - to which he said he is out of the door and won't be reopening the door now. I am now out of $80 (ordered 2 pizzas and large salad) and no way to get it back - since I placed the order as a guest without creating an account, and the only customer support number or another way to get in touch with anyone I could find on the order page is the shop's direct number. read more

Service and pizza at this location were a-okay. Parking was ample at dinner time in the back of the Flower Building. There's also a rear entrance to the store, which makes this an easy stop! The pies in the case did not appear as "fresh" for those looking to order a slice for dinner. Perhaps their focus is more on the many take-out orders that were being picked up throughout our meal. We ended up ordering an artichoke pie, which had dollops of sauce on each slice. The sauce had a kick to it, which was not what I was expecting. The best part was the calzone. The calzone was giant (about the size of a large pizza folded in two--bigger than I've ever seen before!). We added pepperoni (extra charge), but this was well worth it! I've had pizza in most of the five boroughs of NYC, and this was actually pretty comparable. Got a 2 slices + drink special, and opted for one of the tomato+basil, and one Brooklyn. Both had great garlic flavor, and the meats on the Brooklyn were very good quality. The tomato on the other was also very fresh. Crust was crispy but not too hard; nor was it chewy and underdone. As a place to grab a slice or two for lunch, it's one of the better options in the area, and certainly beats the big chains, or freezer-case frozens. Can see why it's been rated Best of Falls Church for several years in a row. read more
