This place is awesome! I went for the first time today and the food was amazing! Everything is vegan and the menu makes it clear which items are gluten-free, soy-free and nut-free. It's so great to find a restaurant that has so many options for my dietary restrictions. My sister and I shared several things and they were all great. Our favorite was the Eggplant Lasagna. The grilled veggies were so flavorful and the sauce accented it perfectly. We also loved the Sweet Potato Wedges (especially the chipotle aioli it came with) and the Curry Garbanzo Soup, and the Mediterranean Kale Salad was good as well. Our few critiques were that the kale salad was a bit light on dressing and toppings, and the potato wedges were a bit too soft. I expected them to be similar to thick-cut fries, so even though they were deliciously baked, I would have liked them to be a bit more crispy. Other than that though the experience was superb. Went here today with my daughter and had great meals. I had the eggplant calzone and she had the Blanca pizza. Neither of us are vegan but we both enjoy healthy eating. The Mac and cheese is amazing. Every vegan restaurant I go to, I try their Mac and cheese. I have been to over 10 and this Mac and cheese is superior. Every item on the menu is so good. Lets highlight the things I loved first and foremost: - The food was excellent - The dining space was cleaned so well - The Juice bar was fun and lively - The location is great Here are the parts I did not like: - I had asked for help a few time from one of the waitstaff and did not receive a lot of assistance This clearly did not impact my opinion of Pulse because I still gave a 4 stars out of 5. My simple solution is just a little retraining to sharpen the edges of your staff and allow for them to be a little more autonomous than just not knowing what food items are what. I went to Pulse with some of my friends on a Tuesday, and it was okay. I ordered the Thai Noodle Bowl and the portion was pretty large. The only thing, the staff doesn't really help with menu suggestions, and not being a vegan, I didn't really know what to get. I just chose something off the menu that sounded good based off menu description. I wish the staff could have helped me more with the menu. They deliver food to the table, which is nice. But I was kind of confused what to do with my plates once I was finished though- it's self bus. I would recommend ordering something like a Thai Noodle bowl or a calzone which are big portions, but salads and the burger are not very large. Some items I could consider overpriced, for the portion, but I liked my portion for the price. The portions are inconsistent with different entrees. I would return!! read more

Update , went back on a cold rainy Monday had the impossible burger with a side salad ,The burger was delicious, toppings fresh, sauce was perfect outstanding flavor profile , if you are on a plant based diet this burger is must try, the side salad was artfully crafted with a light dressing only removing a star because the prices are a bit steep however the atmosphere is bright and clean , I will be back to try other entrees. read more

The service here is extremely good, and all of the people that work here are extremely friendly and helpful! The food is delicious. The atmosphere is wonderful and relaxing. That being said, the only area I can see improvement in is the amount of sodium they put in their food. I do not use any salt in or on my food. The next day I felt extremely swollen and could tell I had eaten quite a bit of salt. It was the only part I found disappointing. When I go back. I will make sure there is no salt in the things that I order. Other than that, the food tasted absolutely delicious. Even all of my kids loved it! read more

I now have a new favorite restaurant when visiting the Northampton/Amherst area. Pulse Cafe rules with a varied nutritious, tasty, reasonably priced menu, genuinely friendly and helpful staff, all in a spotless physical space that is welcoming and well laid out. The specials are displayed behind the counter, and the chef is also located there, so you can see everything that is going on with your food if you like. The special I ordered (mushroom calzone) was so good, I ordered the other special calzone (eggplant/onion) to go. I also had the Mediterranean Kale Salad, which was extremely fresh and used high quality olives. Desserts were too tempting to pass on; I had the apple/blueberry crisp, which was warmed in the wood-fired brick oven (where all the dishes are fired), and my server topped it with vegan whipped cream. I ordered the fruit bar and a slice of raspberry cheesecake to go. All of the desserts had just the right amount of sweetness for me, which is to say, not much. Flavors were out of this world. My only complaint is that I don't live closer; I literally would eat here 4-5 times a week! Vegan or omnivore, you won't be disappointed! I've been driving by this place for 10 months and finally gave it a try. So glad I did. The atmosphere/decor is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. I had the Haystack bowl, which includes beans, lettuce, tomato, olives, peppers, and tortilla chips, among other ingredients. I don't know how they make it taste so good, but I practically licked my bowl clean. The bakery items looked mouth-watering, and their little market sells some interesting and hard-to-find packaged items, like non-dairy sour cream (which came on my bowl and was so delicious I had to ask them what it was). Went there for lunch and got the ultimate burger it was amazing the roll was also great. It came with air fried potatoes they were good but I prefer a thinner potato this was very thick. I wanted a coffee was disappointed that they do not serve coffee they had an alternative option said it tasted like coffee but I did not find it to taste like coffee had a very bitter taste. Overall I enjoyed it but not having coffee was a major turn off and being told he alternative tasted like coffee is enough for me not to go back. read more

Not very many options, and the service (or lack thereof) was sub par.
