    Souther Comfort Bowl - $17

What a treat to find someplace 100% plant based with such an appealing menu! My adult daughter has been vegetarian for 30+ years and so often when we dine out she is stick getting the same boring veggie burgers or salads that most restaurants offer for vegetarians. The restaurant is low key - if you are dining in, you order at the counter, are given a number and your food is delivered to your table. We enjoyed sitting by a wall mounted fireplace that created a nice ambiance for our night out eating delicious and healthy food. Plant based is definetly the healthiest way to eat in my opinion so it is fantastic that it is available and delicious ...check them out!

Sooo tasty and well worth the wait! We constantly missed getting in (closed Saturdays and latest 7 PM (some days earlier) -- so maybe we were too eager today. We had the almond joy and the elderberry iced tea to drink. Then, who can resist sweet corn tamales? Not us! They went perfectly with the cream and guac! My DH had the cubano and I had the chimichurri black bean burger -- Deliciousness! I will say this -- It was a lot of food and we were beyond stuffed for hours. I just wish there was a Pulse in other places... Until then cannot wait to go back!

I had a lovely lunch at Pulse Cafe. It's a casual, family friendly and nicely appointed spot to a quick meal, although you could linger if you wanted to. While it's vegan, several in our group weren't vegan and found plenty to eat. I was particularly fond of the smoothies, with the piña colada one being my favorite. We tried a couple of the calzones. I really liked the one with spinach and mushrooms. I chose to get it without the vegan cheese. Someone in our group got the tamale appetizer and it was very tasty. I'd stop in again if I was looking for a lunch or dinner spot in the area.

Food is delicious!!!! Stopped by today to try their Mac & cheese with buffalo (soy) chicken and OMG - heaven :)) Wish I lived closer, I'd eat here a few times a week! Amazing place, and kudos to the chef.

I have been hearing about this cafe since they opened but I never had a reason to be in this area. So when I planned to trip to Vermont, i got to come here. Wow, this must be the biggest vegan eatery I have been to ever. Like really!! Their food options to dessert to smoothies, everything is amazing. The people there are welcoming and rest rooms are super clean. Note: The pizza options look delicious I didn't get a chance to try pizza this time but I will be back again.

I didn't realize it was an order and sit yourself type of restaurant, but that was ok. The inside is very nice and spacious, although I feel like it lacks a little character and comfort... still feels too sterile. I split the blueberry pancakes and chicken n waffles with my mom and they were yum!!! The blueberry waffles were amazing and I would go back just for them. The chicken n waffles were a little underwhelming and dissapointing, the chicken was just triangle cut breaded tofu... tasted good but seemed lazy. ???? Also they didn't have coffee??? So I got some barley tea which is supposed to mimic coffee but it sucked. Do not order this if ur on the fence lol. We also got the banana pudding and carrot cake cupcakes to split and those were delicious! Would easily order them again and want to try all the other deserts available!

Great vegan out of way spot Never expected this kind of find in Hadley Comfort bowl with soy drum sticks, Mac and cheese, collards, black eye peas was great and filling. Had to skip the salad we purchased. Have had their bean burger Tried tex-mexdstyle with sweet potato fries before. Great dish. Super and filling Almond joy shake. Pretty spacious in door dining area. Only saw one masked patron. No room for dessert. Do want to try their pizzas but will be awhile since I journeyed from CA.

I am not often a huge fan of vegetarian restaurants with lots of vegan food however this place has amazingly delicious fresh food that tasted like it deserved a five out of five star rating. I highly recommend this location to anyone wanting healthy fresh delicious food. There were so many different options of things to order from gluten free pizza, to salads, to black bean burgers. The Caesar salad had the most delicious dressing, croutons and smoked tofu. I typically don't even like tofu but it was perfect and tasty. My friend had the black bean cheeseburger and she said it was delicious. The eggplant calzone was perfection with had nut cheese that was so creamy and melted perfectly. Highly recommend trying this place to enjoy a delicious healthy meal.

Brought my omnivore parents here for lunch during the week. They weren't very excited because they typically like to eat meat but I am vegan and couldn't wait to try this place out. The place is large, open and beautiful. Very clean. The staff was nice. My dad ordered Mac n cheeze and it was the best Mac n cheese any of have ever had. He loved it! My mom ordered a gluten free blanco pizza that was delicious. She loved it. I ordered Buffalo chicken pizza. It was also very good but I liked their meals better. It was pricy but worth it. Their hours are a bit strange and they aren't in the most convenient location but I'd say it's one of the best restaurants around. I hope others will come and support this lovely restaurant. It would be a wonderful place for private events too.

The lunch was good, but not as fantastic as I expected. Sorry, but I found the wait to be very long, the ambiance is pleasant but cavernous, and the food did not leave me wanting more. I often saw this huge building from Route 9 after shopping at LLBean and Trader Joe's. I knew it was vegetarian, which was a big plus, and was eager when I came at lunch time. The building is indeed cavernous. There was a very long line when we opened the door. People were ordering pizzas and other complex items. The good part is that the restaurant customizes. The bad part is that each order took a lot of time and there is only one person at the counter. You find a table in one of the rooms after you order and display a number. At that point you wait until service is ready. The server was too busy to be friendly. I don't need to have my hands held, but the experience left me cold. The food was acceptable but not exciting.

No need to ask about ingredients because the food is composed of REAL food....vegetables and fruits

And though I can't guarantee that the town was so vibrantly and unapologetically queer nearly 30 years ago when our paths diverged, I can say that in 2025 it was completely my vibe. Though lesbianest - it def was. After Dinosaur Footprints, my trio needed to grab some lunch. They spoke highly of Local Bar and what a delicious choice it was. They have a nice lineup of preconfigured burgers - the teriyaki seems to be a local favorite - or you can build your own. The best is that you can have a beef, turkey, or veggie burger with any style. Unfamiliar meat sometimes sends me running to the baño and I still had a 3 hr drive up to NH. So I opted for the Farmhouse style burger with a veggie patty. It came with cheddar cheese, bacon, and our house maple mayo. I told you maple is my fave flavor. Excellent decision - the server even complimented my choice lol. The veggie patty was homemade with mushrooms and other grains - texture was elite and the umami was palpable throughout. It also didn't fall apart in my hands as other veggie patties are prone to do. I also got an order of fries but this is completely a place where you could get a burger and skip the sides and be satisfied. My dining companions were more in the know in this area so we shared the fries. Free refills too which thrilled me to no end as I strongly dislike nickel and diming on drinks. Parking can be a challenge in this town - but since it's Pride Month the rainbow gods were shining on us and we found 2 spots right next to each other just around the corner from the spot. Great food, stellar service, clean dining area, central location, something for vegans and meat eaters alike. Can't go wrong with this one!

My only suggestion to make it real Buffalo style is thick blue cheese dip. The other meals served were amazing - two pasta dishes and the fried chicken. All tasty. Everyone loved their dishes. The food was great with the brussel sprouts as the highlight--super rich and had a creamy aioli on top that we ordered extra of on the side. The gnocchi had great texture and didn't feel too heavy. I've spent a…read morelifetime standing in line at legendary smokehouses, watching pitmasters tend post oak fires through the night, and judging brisket by its bark before I ever take the first bite. So, I'll admit, I approached a barbecue restaurant north of the Mason-Dixon Line with equal parts curiosity and skepticism. What first caught my eye at Wildwood Barbeque was the stack of firewood out back. That always gets a Texan's attention. I never spotted a traditional offset smoker, though. Walking through the front door, I picked up the unmistakable aroma of hickory, and maybe a touch of apple smoke, which immediately put my senses on high alert. A glance toward the kitchen revealed one of those modern hybrid smoker ovens. Purists may debate them, but at the end of the day the food is what matters. One look at the menu made it clear Wildwood isn't trying to be a bare-bones barbecue joint. It's a full-fledged Southern restaurant serving burgers, po'boys, salads, sandwiches, Cajun favorites, comfort food, and smoked meats. Before I even ordered, though, my eyes wandered to the dessert case where the cake slices looked big enough to have their own ZIP code. Around Texas, we'd simply say they're as big as a county. I kicked things off with an order of burnt ends before settling on the sweet tea-brined smoked chicken. The burnt ends arrived carrying a wonderful kiss of hardwood smoke and what tasted like a light coating of barbecue sauce. They were cut into small cubes, and while several pieces were tender and flavorful, others received too much time in the pit. The smoked chicken, however, was the star of the meal. Every bite carried the subtle sweetness of the tea brine, balanced by a well-seasoned rub that finished with just enough spice to keep things interesting. It was juicy, smoky, and thoughtfully prepared. The lone disappointment was the potato salad. As someone who's eaten just about every version served from Texas smokehouses, from mustard-based Hill Country recipes to creamy East Texas family traditions, I honestly couldn't figure out what this one was trying to be. It lacked the character and comforting simplicity that make potato salad the perfect barbecue side. Wildwood may not transport you to Lockhart, Lexington, or Taylor, but it doesn't have to. It carves out its own identity by blending Southern cooking with smoked meats, and the chicken alone is worth coming back for. Just save room for one of those Texas-sized slices of cake.
