Normally I'm not a big fan of fake cheese (vegan cheese), but this restaurant changed that for me. If all vegan food was as tasty and readily available as the food at this restaurant I would be vegan. The margarita pizza was very good, it had fresh chunks of tomatoes and they really tasted fresh. The mac and cheese was also very good, I can't believe it's not real cheese! The burger was also so surprising it's not real meat. It was one of the best burgers i've been had, i never would have bought I would have enjoyed a vegan burger so much. Part of what makes the burger so good i'd not only is the fake meat good but the topping are also fresh and compliment each other well. The açaí bowl was amazing, topped with very good granola. Pulse Cafe is an establishment I would never patron. We ordered our meal @11:45 am did not get served until 12:15pm. When the meal arrived, it was incomplete, missing an order. The waitress said she would find out what happened, returned and told the Manager (Lance) would get it out in 15 mind because they were other in front of me , are you kidding me, so, I said I'll take it to go, the Manager states that's not going to make it go faster( very sarcastic) I told him, I was requesting it to go because I wasn't going to have my guest wait for me to eat after they have finished their meal. I then decided to request a refund because I refused to patron an unprofessional restaurant that doesn't have respect for its customers. PHENOMENAL!!!! Some of the best vegan food I've ever had! On my last two visits me & my family had a mushroom and spinach calzone, pizza, salad, eggplant parm calzone, "chicken" burrito, and potato wedges. The restaurant is spotless and spacious. Everyone on the staff has been very nice, and accommodating. They have the best miso dressing that I've ever had. The food has always tasted very fresh and been well presented. My mother, who is not a vegan, loves it! I will continue to support this establishment, especially since it is fully plant-based! I love the fact that I don't have to play 50 questions about menu item ingredients or worry about cross-contamination from animal products, and I am supporting a local business. I the biggest foodie ever, my world revolves around eating and going to restaurants. The tricky party is, went vegan two years ago. I had worked in the restaurant industry forever so I know how annoying it is for the servers/kitchen when I go out to eat and have to modify everything or ask for something special. Not here!!! I can't eat whatever I want. I love that it's comfort food too. I'm a salad-loathing vegan. I almost cried when I heard this place was opening. We got almost one of everything..... it was delicious! About a week ago my boyfriend and I decided to go vegan, he's been a vegetarian for years and I've been mostly vegetarian for a few months.. with the lack of experience cooking vegan meals, I started looking for restaurants and had heard about this place... we paid a visit this past Sunday, I took my parents (who are not vegans nor vegetarians)... We were all extremely impressed with how amazingly delicious the food was! I ordered the tofu benedict... and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST breakfast plate I have ever consumed my entire life of being a carnivore (:() But it would be unfair to only compliment the food... the interior and exterior of this place is gorgeous... the interior has couches, fireplace, plenty of seating, beautiful tables... I'm in love with their style, it's like industrial/ rustic? I also LOVED the Ellen G White quotes on the walls- we're Seventh Day Adventists so that is a nice touch :) I can honestly keep going on and on about this place, I left there asking about when we would return... I'm thinking it'll have to be a twice a month visit at a minimum, and only because we live 45 mins away, otherwise I would make this place my second home! Love this place! All vegan menu but very approachable. Food is always great, whether it's a simple salad or some fake meat type of protein. The front cashier was very preoccupied. It was almost as if we were not standing right there ordering. We would mention items we want to order, and then the cashier would look away talk to another employee, then back at us and say, what? It was pretty uncomfortable and made for an unpleasant experience. Besides that, the food was actually pretty good. The person who dropped of the food was INCREDIBLY nice. They even stood there for many minutes asking us about our food, and if it was our first time etc. very very nice. I stopped in yesterday on my way back to CT and I must say I was very impressed. The cafe itself is this rather large barn like building which is fun in and of itself but inside was definitely more than I expected, a large counter for placing orders for various meals, a juice bar and pre-package drinks and shots. The cafe alsohas a grocery section to purchase some vegan foods items. NOW my meal was EXCEPTIONAL much better than I expected (its hard to be vegan sometimes) and am wishing there was a Pulse Cafe closer to me! I visited Pulse for dinner on the second day it was open. The space itself is beautiful and very large. I was greeted by freshly-pressed juice and nutmilk samples--I tried samples of the beet juice and the pepita milk and they both tasted great. I'm under the impression that they're still rolling out menu options, and at first, none of the options sounded all that exciting. However, I tried the mac and cheese and the Greek pizza, and they were both delicious! I also tried my dining companion's burger, and it was also good, but not my favorite vegan burger. I really like that they make the burgers and cheeses in house, though. I also had a piece of blueberry cheesecake and a sweet bun for dessert. The bun was good, but the cheesecake was the best vegan cheesecake I've had! I'll definitely be back. read more

Boring overpriced food and small portions. A lot of soy based stuff and it's just not worth it.

The service at Sunday brunch was brutally slow. After waiting for 40 minutes for our food we got a refund and left. Patrons at tables all around us were bleakly waiting for their food too, sort of a quiet desperation hung in the air. When we left, I saw that there were three expediters at the kitchen's food pick-up window trying to decipher tags and figure out which plate represented which order. The pizza station had one guy making pizza's with about a dozen order tags waiting to be filled. But the free samples they were giving out to placate the diners were good. Might try it again in month or two to see how the food is. Hopefully they will have worked out a system by then. read more

This is my new favorite vegan spot in western MA. The margarita pizza is amazing, as is the mac and cheese. Portion sizes are good too, and everything is well-priced, especially considering everything is made with wholesome ingredients, like homemade cashew mozzarella. Caprese sandwich is super yummy. Pulse Cafe has by far the best vegan Mac & Cheese I've ever had. And that is coming from someone who is not a vegan, yet. You won't regretting coming here even if it's just for the Mac and cheese. I've been craving it ever since. Their lasagna is mouthwatering as well. Some of the best dishes I've had for a while. As a person who does not get dessert, ever, I actually got the cheesecake and let me tell you. The best cheesecake I've had. So similar to Costco's cheesecake it's scary. If you are to recommend a vegan place to a non vegan, this is the place. It's unbelievable how good the food is without any dairy or meat and the service is great! Lots of great choices. Had a chance to sample some home-made deodorant and bug spray which ended up working great! The food is nice and I noticed they have a selection of healthy smoothies. The good news is Pulse has a truly extraordinary menu. In terms of freshness, variety, inspiration and execution easily the best vegan food not just around here but anywhere outside the west coast. And any "farm to table" chef in the valley who thinks they know how to make a salad needs to behold and taste the restrained perfection that is the Pulse house salad. Pulse has without a doubt raised the bar here in the happy valley for plant based food and all of us should be paying attention. The bad news is this place kinda gives me the creeps. There is an oddly corporate vibe, and hard to put my finger on but something just feels off -- kinda like Whole Foods now that I think about it. Tried this last week for the first time. Great for vegans, great for non vegans. Simply, Pulse offers very tasty food, presented beautifully in a warm upscale earthy setting. You could easily have a special occasion meal here (anniversary, etc), it would be great for a nice business lunch/visiting speaker/job candidate, or for impressing visiting family members, etc. We started with the garlic knots which were extremely tasty: right out of the oven, perfect texture, great tomato sauce. My husband had the daily special mushroom calzone which was excellent. I had a small house-ish salad and the Mac and cheese. The salad was awesome...I'm usually not that into salads (I ordered it out of a sense of wanting to eat something healthy), but I found this really exceptional. The Mac and cheese was great with a little extra salt (there are nut and non-nut based cheese options. With tip our over the top lunch was about $32-34. read more

This place is awesome! I went for the first time today and the food was amazing! Everything is vegan and the menu makes it clear which items are gluten-free, soy-free and nut-free. It's so great to find a restaurant that has so many options for my dietary restrictions. My sister and I shared several things and they were all great. Our favorite was the Eggplant Lasagna. The grilled veggies were so flavorful and the sauce accented it perfectly. We also loved the Sweet Potato Wedges (especially the chipotle aioli it came with) and the Curry Garbanzo Soup, and the Mediterranean Kale Salad was good as well. Our few critiques were that the kale salad was a bit light on dressing and toppings, and the potato wedges were a bit too soft. I expected them to be similar to thick-cut fries, so even though they were deliciously baked, I would have liked them to be a bit more crispy. Other than that though the experience was superb.
