Very professional and great service. AC install went great and the system works well. Masks were used during the pandemic.

Everyone has been really great to work with. May 2024 - I finally scheduled our annual maintenance. They sent James out. He was fantastic. A wealth of knowledge, polite and professional. I signed up for the annual maintenance plan to save money. He made good recommendations based on my needs and concerns of my allergies. Much appreciated! 2026 update - our heat pump stopped working and needed replacement parts. I paid for them to send a tech to diagnose it and they followed through with the work which is under the 10-year warranty. Tech, Hagen was very nice and professional and made sure to answer all of my questions. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I hope that this fix lasts a long time, or at least until we upgrade to a newer, more environmentally friendly unit.

I had to call them five times before they finally sent someone. Turns out the salesman hadn't secured the door properly, so the safety switch never engaged -- a super easy fix. We had a cold night with small kids in the house and they showed zero urgency fixing a problem they caused. Their quote was also the highest I got. I don't blame the salesman for the mistake, but the company doesn't stand behind their work at all. I'd never use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

However, since we started this post, we feel a responsibility to make sure reviewers understand the full context. So we're simply going to restate the facts. We strongly believe the facts speak clearly for themselves--what actually happened is far more compelling than any intimidating technical jargon, malicious insults, rhetorical spin, blame-shifting, or attempts to muddy the waters and divert attention. Facts (timeline): 12/22: We scheduled a routine maintenance/inspection with Good Guys Heating, Air & Electrical. Our furnace is about 29 years old, but it was working normally before the visit. During the visit, Good Guys' technician Connor turned off the switch on top of the gas valve to clean the area. After cleaning, he turned the switch back on, but the system then failed to ignite. We were told the system showed an "Ignition Failure," and we were informed the gas valve had "gone bad," attributed to the age of the furnace. We asked Connor to recheck the issue because it seemed extremely odd that a working system could suddenly have a "failed gas valve" within minutes of a maintenance visit. Connor tested voltage at the valve multiple times and continued to insist the gas valve was bad. We contacted his manager, Seth, who said he would locate a replacement valve to replace the old one. We were then presented with a $990 quote/bill to replace the gas valve, which we did not approve and refused to pay in full. We asked the company to recheck the system and restore service-they said we needed to pay the $990 bill first. We requested a clear work record of what had been done. A work summary was only provided later in the company's public response after we posted reviews. We also requested a reasonable temporary solution for the no-heat emergency--no response. Note: In our earlier post, we mentioned that Connor said he "wanted to buy a space heater out of his own pocket." To be precise, he did not make any actual offer--his exact words were, "I had wanted to...." We mentioned it only to be fair and acknowledge the sentiment. Yes, we were foolish and naive--our good intentions were exploited and turned against us. 12/22: We posted our reviews on Google and Yelp. In the company's response, Seth used terms such as "deceitful nature," "bully," "harass," and "slander" to describe us. 12/23: We still had no heat, and the house was extremely cold. We paid $300 to hire an independent second technician to double-check the diagnosis. He restored heat in about five minutes by lubricating/adjusting the switch on top of the gas valve and turning the gas back on. He explained that the switch appeared to have been turned off during the maintenance visit, and because it hadn't been used in a long time, it likely made poor contact when it was turned back on. In his professional opinion, this was not a failed gas valve, and the switch-related issue should have been identified with proper troubleshooting. Since then, the furnace has been working without any problems. That's the full sequence of events. We're sharing this so anyone reading can understand the outcome and make an informed decision.
