Run fast and run far if you're even considering this company. My builder had Puget Heating install my new heat pump system in a new construction house on Whidbey Island. Not only did they cut corners on several connections, but they wired the three mini-split heads out of order resulting in icing and eventual failure of connections and loss of coolant in the system. I paid Island Ductless (Whidbey Island - great company) over $2k to fix the problems when Puget heating refused to do anything due to being past their one-year labor warranty. This is not an issue that was noticeable during that year, but the problems were 100% caused by inept installation. Do not use this company! The below response is BS. It was the responsibility of Puget Heating to ensure that everything was installed and working correctly. Passing the blame to an electrician is just dodging their responsibility. Refund me my repair costs, and I might add a star, but I stand by my review. read more

We have a heat-pump heating system that stopped working last summer. We had hired two other heating company's come out to service the system. One of the companies said their crew forgot to replace a part, so they sent another crew to replace it ... and charged us for the second trip even though they admitted it was their fault. When the heat pump failed a month later during 20-degree temps, we called Puget Heating and their repair guy (Dakota) came out and did a thorough inspection of every aspect of the heat-pump as well as the inside furnace. He made a second trip to replace parts and to clean up the messy wiring that the other two repair companies had ignored. With temperatures dropping into the 20's at night, it has been fantastic to finally have HEAT! We could not be happier! Great Company. Great Experience! read more

Puget heating installed our furnace over 20 years ago and about 10 years ago installed a heat pump system. Yesterday our furnace went out (well past its life expectancy) and our heat pump was not working properly. Given it was the day before Thanksgiving I was panicking that we were going to have no heat and with family staying with us this could have been a huge problem! I called Puget heating to let them know what was going on and their customer service was Top tier. They had their employees off for the holiday but still was able to get someone out to our home and got our heat pump system back up and running. Our furnace will be replaced in the next week but for now we have heat and I am so thankful. we were also quoted 7-10 k for a new bottom line furnace by another company and Puget heating gave me a quote for the same spec furnace for half the price. Puget Heating installed a ductless heat pump system in my home. I got their name from a neighbor who had the same work done a couple of years ago and was happy with their work. I still got a couple more bids and Puget was a little higher than the low bid but when they came out to do the estimate they seemed more professional and provided a more detaield bid. I thought the 2 person crew was very professional and did a quality job, I would definitely recommend them for type of work. I've had them out twice to make adjustments and they sent someone out within a day of calling them. I also want to mention they did a great job of cleaning up. read more

So incredibly bad. Stay away from this company - honestly, for whoever has seen this Yelp page, I don't really believe they would choose this company, unless they are unfortunate enough to have their new homes built by a builder like Tri Pointe Homes (formally Quadrant Homes) that chose this contractor to install and maintain HVAC for their new homes, so we have no other choice but asking them to fix the poor job done by them earlier. Just like most other contractors chosen by this builder, Puget Heating didn't make the installation at the first place. In the past nearly three years, I had to repeatedly deal with them for heating issues in our home, and it's been mostly painful every time we had to request them to fix heating issues. We've been having inadequate heating for three consecutive winters, which isn't totally a fault of them, but rather the decision made by the builder (Quadrant Homes) to install underpowered heat pumps as hthe main heat source. However, the initial installation had multiple mistakes, including but not limited to not enough coolant. And we know that the reason for inadequate heating was so simple - the installed heat pumps were not powerful enough. However, Puget Heating just doesn't want to acknowledge this. Every time I requested to the builder to fix the heating problem, they sent Puget Heating to our home, and after some random checking, they became unresponsive at all, and after painfully long waiting and repeated urges, they would simply say that the system had been working fine. There were so many opportunities that the heating issues could have been fixed much earlier, but because of this company, Puget Heating, we had to suffer three full winters in coldness. Recently, the builder finally agreed to swap the heat pumps with more powerful ones. Of course, we had to have them to do the installation. They missed their first schedule date and delayed the installation by two weeks. This time, once again, the coolant was not filled enough for the first time. And they didn't properly level the outdoor unit. And they didn't properly insulate the metal pipes. And they didn't properly level the condensation tray of the indoor head-up unit. And they randomly remapped our electric breakers without telling us what hadbeen changed. The worker promised to check back in a few days after installation, but he never did, nor did he contacted me. And the communication was so poor. For once they showed up without letting us know in advance. We were not home. It was already incredibly difficult to ask them to come, and when they finally did, they would just show up randomly without letting you know in advance. Then they came at a later date, and we thought they would address the issues in the latest installation, but they came and directlyy headed to our backyard without ringing the bell, and started tweaking the heat pump. That was very rude. Turned out they just came and refill the coolant, but we asked them to come for different issues and they ignored totally. In the most recent visit, I was asked to schedule an appointment by directly calling their office. Guess what? A person was out for vacation so I couldn't even schedule it until two weeks later. I was told that they would call me after two weeks, and unsurprisingly they didn't. I called again and was told that only one specific person could schedule me, and that person was on another call, so expect a callback. Unsurprisingly, there was again no callback. In short, finally I was able to schedule it for two issues. I was also told to expect an email regarding some relative information on the visit, and unsurprisingly no such email. And when they finally came, they had no idea on one of the issues I mentioned to the office. The workers were also unfriendly, and repeatedly ignored what I said during their work. Although unlikely, I hope I won't have to deal them again. And if you are buying a new house, make sure to check the contractors the builder chooses. If they chose Puget Heating, skip that builder. read more

Buyer beware! This company does NOT stand behind its warranty. I bought a newly constructred home in November 2022 and STILL do not have a properly working water heater. TL;DR Said the use of duct tape to secure dryer extenders and ducts were SOP (standard operating procedure) Here are the facts to formulate your opinion. When they initially built the home they didn't leave enough duct piping protruding from the dry wall for the home depot installers to properly install the dryer. So I went through normal procedures to get my home warranty team to fix the issue by installing an extender. They installed the extender by putting pieces of duct tape inside the extender, into the dry wall hot air outlet. Then they duct taped the extender to the dryer pipe. Then they also used duct tape to secure the dryer pipe to my dryer. Normally with master tradesman, it's easy to default to their expertise. However, I'm glad I verified the "fix" they implemented. I know I can Google an answer that I want to prove my point. Yet if every link says "do not use duct tape" when I search "is duct tape safe for dryer vents", I think Google might have a point. Furthermore, common sense says that adhesives shouldn't be present where dust and hot air are traveling in a small enclosed space. The dust will start to accumulate and then at some point ignite if the temperature got high enough. Yet when I called, they said this is standard procedure. Also, when I moved the dryer slightly to observe the fix that was implemented, the extender fell right out of the wall. I was under the impression that an extender should be a bit more secured to the wall duct. But I wouldn't expect duct tape to do that job adequately. To top it all off, they took 70% of the dryer duct that I purchased from home depot and left me with a foot of it. read more

Ive been working with this company since I bought my home 2 years ago. There has always been a lack of follow through and a need to contact them to keep the ball rolling. Every tech that came to the house said something different was wrong with the heater, but it never fixed the problem. Finally in May, after many calls and time spent, a tech was able to figure it out! The heater was replaced last week, I was so looking forward to having this problem out of my hair! But, now a new problem they want no ownership of. When they went to install the new furnace the attic opening was too small. I'm working the entire time in the room next to them, with the door wide open. Not once did anyone address this, or mention to me that they had to cut the ceiling and what they'd do to fix it afterwards. They didn't mention it to me until they were on their way out of the house. oh, and told me they wouldn't be fixing it because they don't do sheet rock. I quickly contacted the owner, Lisa who blames SeaPac and doesn't offer to make sure the work gets done, but is more concerned with telling me how it's their fault and they must fix it. She promises to tell them about it and keep me cc'd in emails and assist me they'll take care of it. Over a week later and no email and now she won't respond to my messages asking for a status update. Same thing that happened when I would call about the furnace; supposed to follow up but don't unless I call and call and call. Horrible customer service, by her and her guys, and no empathy or compassion, let alone the integrity to do good work. read more

Very bad experience with this company. I wanted to install an air conditioner for my house. I was told by my neighbor that this company was the one who installed out furnace for our houses. I called to schedule an estimate. I was told by a representative (later known as an owner) that the price range was around 6500 to 6800 and was advised that since I had my furnace installed by them, they would give me 15% discount for AC installation. When the tech came over to do the estimate, he once again confirmed that the price should be around 6500 before any discounts. I was so happy and waiting for the estimate bids. The estimate lady took a early long weekend due to the holidays, so I had never received the estimate until when she got back. I had to keep calling to ask for the bid and finally she sent one over right before they closed their business for the day. The price was increased to 8200 with 20% discount, so 7100 after taxes, way more than what they told me originally. They thought I really needed their service badly and they tried to make money on me? Please avoid this company. Totally not recommended. No wonder why this company only gets 2.5 out of 5 stars. read more

Worst experience ever! Furnace was leaking in our home prior to us purchasing it. Came out and deemed it as the builder's fault and said the platform was I leveled. The leak also damages our walls! After many finger pointing and lack of communication, they finally fixed furnace and had drywall contractor come out and fixed our walls. Now, they don't want to paint our walls! This all stemmed from their faulty installation and defected water sensor which knew about and never fixed prior to us moving in! The lack of communication and assistance is appalling, disrespectful and unprofessional! DO NOT use them as a company! Worst customer service ever! Will also repost this the the BBB! read more

We had our ducts cleaned which revealed an issue with the HVAC. We called our home's builder to get the company that did the HVAC work, and that was Puget Heating. I looked on the web site and read that the company stands by the work. I told them of the issue and you know what, they came it and find the problem. No charge. And this is 8 years after our house was built. So thank you to Puget Heating for honoring their word and resolving our issue. And BTW, the staff is friendly and the work is good. read more

Not only did Puget Heating not fix the problem, they made more of a mess of it and created more problems- THEN no-showed!! $250 for the initial visit and i'm still in the same situation as if they didn't even show up. This company came out to fix our heater this winter.They had to make several trips, they didn't have materials with them, put too much coolant in, then had to come back out and take some back out. They spent hours and didn't seem to know what they were doing. They tried to tell us it was our heat pump, it was going out. We tried our air conditioning yesterday, it blew warm air. Whatever they did to our heat pump made it all of a sudden not work, and was so loud at startup, we thought the thing would blow up! They charged us for several trips to our house because they had to keep coming back. Cost us $800.00 for which should have been 1/2 that, but cost us more because they kept having to come back and fix their mistakes! Today we called another heating company, they fixed it within 15 min. They could see exactly what the other guys failed to see and do, and it works great and is quiet!! I would think twice about using this company. We had 3 different guys from this company come to work on our heat pump, and I dont think one of them knew what they were doing. Oh, the company today told us our heat pump still has a few years left in it. Not on its last leg, as Puget heating wanted us to believe. Charging us for their mistakes and lack of knowlege is just not right! read more
