Joanne's smile, fun personality and customer interaction on a score from 1 to 10 (10 being absolutely amazing), I give her and her crew an 11!! I can not say enough about the assistant deli manager, Chris Osimen at the North Pointe Plaza Location on North Dale Mabry. I needed some deli sandwich platters last minute and he was on top of it. After letting the front desk know that a few items in the international aisle were very outdated and long past their sell by and use by dates, I saw one of the workers was removing them, they let me know that someone else had also commented on them. 3 weeks later and those same outdated products are back in the shelf. This is by far my favorite grocery store! Very clean. Can always count on great BOGO deals. Produce is always fresh. Staff is always super friendly and attentive. This publix always confuses me... it's like.. HI I'm Publix but I don't have anything the other publix store has.. I'm a shell of publix... I feel like whenever I'm looking for something specific I ask myself.. 'WHY did I go to this one again?' Pharmacy was extremely unhelpful. My wife fills her scripts there so I decided to try to fill mine. They said I wasn't a customer of theirs and that they were not accepting new customers to their pharmacy. They lied 3 separate times about if they had the certain prescription I needed. They said it had been on back order for months even though my wife and brother in law filled there yesterday. Ultimately saying they'd rather potentially help a customer in the future who had been there before instead of helping me right now. read more

Horrible chicken, bought a whole chicken from the Deli for my family everybody complained, it was white no seasoning no flavor still taste like it was alive, walmart has better season chicken and cheaper. This Publix isn't the newest but I've been coming here for so long it's my favorite. My hubby and i were just there Sunday and the staff was really attentive! A manager asked if we needed help and a short time later a staff member did too. The store is clean, has a nice wine section and there is an Aprons cooking station where a chef creates a dish for you to try. They then offer you a recipe card and have all of the ingredients in a case next to the cooking area. We've ordered custom cakes from The bakery and they've always done a stellar job. Same goes for ordering breads for the various holidays throughout the year. Need wood for the winter? They always have logs outside ready to go. If you've been to one Public, you've been to them all. The Publix on North Dale is pretty good all around and follows the same friendly customer service and clean environment that most of them do. The dairy aisle at this one is really neat and has a dome arched ceiling which I always thought was pretty neat. They also carry a selection of local and craft beers which is cool if you're into that sort of thing. The only con that I can think of is the parking lot is sort of sketchy, but only because it's shared with the shady Walmart that is located next door. read more

Moved to the area couple months ago and this is the nearest Publix. Sad to say that I will be driving past this store to go to the bigger and nicer one by Fletcher for now on. It's not that this Publix does anything really bad, but the little nice things that I've come to expect are completely overlooked by management. For instance, Publix is famous for their scales by their store entrance. However, the scale to weigh yourself at this location is on the south side entrance. The store only opens cashier lanes by the north side entrance. If you happen to park your car by the south entrance so you can weigh yourself, due to shopping at other stores, or because of parking you have a LONG walk with your groceries. The medicine, first aid is separated from the rest of the personal hygiene product aisle. Again, medicine, first aid, etc is by the north side entrance and the personal hygiene products are on the other side of the store in an aisle. What?! Talk about a long walk back and forth to get that Advil you needed! They put the slowest cashier on the 10-Items or Less lane during the week, after work! I mean seriously, I stopped in for a rotisserie chicken and potato salad at 6:10pm after work, the dang cashier was a senior woman who was s-l-o-w and chatted up every single customer about personal stuff. It only took me 3 minutes to grab my two items, but 17 minutes to pay! Speedy lane should have a speedy cashier. Period. On the plus side, a shout out to the produce employee. He always finds what you're looking for and/or walk you over to the area. He is always upbeat and happy. read more

This is the Publix closest to my house so I definitely get to it more than any other. To be honest though, there are three Publix' on Dale Mabry, so if you don't have to go too far to find one. I like Publix in general better than the other main supermarkets. They seem to have a better variety of what I am looking for and the sliced fruit selection is the best. Not to mention the Deli (I am a fan of Boars Head deli meats as well), and during the holidays, I am a big fan of the Santa's White Christmas Ice Cream! read more

I love Publix! I will take the time to review every Publix that I check in to because they are outstanding. I especially love this Publix because I get sushi for my hairdresser as a bonus to her tip. The publix itself is pretty nice and most of the employees are kind. Although every time I try to get a sandwich from this location I leave disappointed. I love this Publix. Everyone here is so kind and friendly and the store is clean. The grocery store clerks make sure to keep the produce nice and fresh and if you have a problem, they take care of it right away. The bakery staff is fantastic and all of their stuff is delicious. They give great recommendations if you cannot decide what to get! Their guava and cheese pastries are the absolute best. The customer service up at the front is great too. No matter what your issue is, they take care of it right away. Sometimes the lines can take a while to pay, but considering the service with a smile you get, it is totally worth it. They are very patient with older customers and when they have a customer with a ton of coupons, the clerks will usher you to another line instead. They will even help you move your items to another line! The only frustrating part is the Deli, which sometimes has massive lines and it takes forever to get whatever you ordered, but from my experience, all Publix delis are like that. But the quality of the product you get is great and the staff will help you with whatever it is you ask and understand that the wait is frustrating. It is clear they are not making you wait so long on purpose. You just have to have patience. Another issue is that Publix's in general can be pretty pricey, but they have a ton of deals every week and they accept coupons from several stores, not just their own. My favorite store. Raising a family, I'm usually there 2-3 times a week. Always great customer service. The store is always clean and organized. Sometimes the bakery folks are not that pleasant, however they turn out amazing products. I use them for every birthday, holiday, even weddings. The bakery items always exceed my expectations. We bought the Publix Thanksgiving dinner. We ended up throwing out the gravy because it was excessively salty. Also, the dressing was very watery and salty. It was harder to do than advertised, not just heat and eat. The turkey had to bake for 2 hours. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant and had a poor texture. We still had to purchas sweet potatoes, dessert, etc, to beef up the meal. We would not recommend purchasing holding day dinner from Publix. We were disappointed. The pharmacy folks are great, and the cake baker is wonderful too. But the overall customer service, including the store manager, leaves something to be desired. Now that the Publix just south of this one, on Fletcher and N. Dale Mabry, has opened, I go to the the new rebuilt store where there is a much larger inventory. and far better customer service and fresh produce. I love this Publix! They accept Whole Foods coupons which is great! I have always had a pleasant experience. They have more of a selection than the Publix closer to my house. They do not have hardly any (maybe one) cart returns within the parking lot, but I always have someone help me to the car. read more

Today I went into the Publix at North Point to do my weekly grocery shopping and was followed by an employee like a common thief. I told myself that I was probably losing it and kept shopping but then the same woman I saw in the last two isle was the one that followed me to the register and act like nothing happen. I noticed that the register that I was checking out to, one of the mangers were bagging the groceries and looked directly over at her and then he went back to the customer service desk. He did not bag my groceries and a minute later an older lady came over to bag my groceries. I felt like a fool, I felt ashamed like I had done something, and I just wanted to leave the store in embarrassment. I went to Wal-Mart next door to finish my grocery shopping and return to Publix to complain. I wanted to speak to the same manager and the woman but they said he had left for the day. I spoke to another manger that was there and explained to him what hat happened and he kept apologizing and saying how sorry he was that I had experienced that. I don't know how sincere he was but I wanted him to know how hurt I was and to not profile people the way they have. I told him that I have lived in this neighborhood since 2004 and I am tired of this. It seems that this Publix and the Publix on Van Dyke Road and Dale Mabry some how make minority shoppers feel uneasy in the store. I had experienced this before but never said anything but today I felt like I had enough. I will never shop in Publix again and I know my money may not hurt the establishment but I letting the minority shoppers know that they need to beware especially if they are black. read more
