Hello all. I went over to Publix today to pick up a salad. On my salad I jad Spinach, Tomato, Banana Pepper, Olive with some freshly cooked Chicken Strips. All i can say about this salad is, it didnt miss. Every sine bite was better than the last. The service wasnt all that great though!! It's been good but, the rotisserie chicken they sometimes comes so hard. I got one and I could do nothing with it. It was hard starchy like I could swallow it and need some help in on Mother's Day. Riverside Publix store's Subway counter was unbelievably lazy and careless. The staff showed zero effort and didn't bother making my sandwich order at all. They stood around doing nothing while customers waited, completely ignoring their responsibilities. When I tried to get their attention, they acted like it was too much work to help. The worst part? My sub order was never made, and no one seemed to care. Truly the most unprofessional and frustrating experience ever--I will never go back. read more

Publix has the best subs. They make their own bread, so it is fresh every day. Plenty of cheese and meat. You can put a plethora of toppings . You can watch them putting it together. Their staff is always smiling. They always are cordial. You can order ahead of time. By ordering ahead, you can have it ready for you when you arrive .This a is a major help because the lines become long especially around meal times. Price: great value for their subs. Smaller Publix with limited inventory. One of the only grocery stores close to the Downtown Jacksonville Area. Horrible parking situation. I recommend walking if you could. They accept EBT and have a coin star machine. I normally go to the one on Normandy. Go during the day, it can be a bit scary at night. Hence the security guard outside. read more

I am usually a fan of Publix and it is my favorite chain grocery store. But this is the smallest Publix I have been to with a small parking lot. Good luck finding parking during rush hour at 5 PM on a Friday. Even when I stop by at 7 AM, there is already quite a few cars. The store employee aren't as friendly either compared to other Publix. But unfortunately, I don't have much of a choice given this is the one closest to me. read more

Come on Publix, you (literally) have 10+people in the deli and one person working at the sub line who I think is purposely being slow because there is no way lol!!!! Wry young lady The setup around that area as well needs a little rethinking. There is no where to stand besides an aisle so everyone cuts in line on the other side. Maybe add another person... waiting 30 minutes for a sandwich is ridiculous with only a few people in line. Left after 20 minutes when no one acknowledged me standing there making eye contact waving my hands around basically (jk), I was cut in line and then I watched the slowest sandwich of all time being made. So disappointed with this store. I bought a bottle of wine & the same wine from Publix on Roosevelt earlier today. The stores are just 5 miles away. For exactly the same wine, the difference was $10. When we went to customer service we waited 15 minutes. No one at the store could explain why. Though they were nice about it, the message was 'it is what it is'. For SURE one of the worst Publix locations in Jacksonville. Hell, probably in Florida as a whole. Parking lot is an absolute disaster (be ready to fight someone for a spot) and they don't even stock all the normal items because it's a smaller-scale store. What inspired my review today though was the pharmacy. I have used this location for their pharmacy services a few times and the last couple visits I thought I was just catching them on a bad day/at a bad time! Unfortunately it just seems to me like they're always in a big mess back there... Staff gives me a different excuse for the elongated wait times every visit so who knows what's really going on. Most recently they quoted me over an hour and a half wait and asked me to come back. So I left the store and as soon as I got out of the parking lot I received a text that my prescription was ready. I was very annoyed! Had to turn right back around and fight parking to go inside again. Will be filling elsewhere from now on because who has time to play games with a pharmacy at 7pm on a weeknight? This is a smaller Publix and the even smaller parking lot is a great place to shop. This is exactly what the Riverside area needed desperately. I stop in here when I am passing through the hood. I told the Manager about too many buggies in the lot blocking parking spots. When I came back out after shopping, all of the buggies were put away and more cars had spaces to park. Publix is a "WOW" company. I know because I retired from Publix. Great store, Management, employees, prices and freshness of the produce department. If they don't have what you are looking for, ask a Manager to order what you need and they will. read more

I am a lifelong Publix shopper. Never had a bad experience at any other location, but today was horrific. The woman behind the sandwich counter was incredibly impatient and rude to my wife for not being ready. Her attitude was that of annoyance at the fact she was making sandwiches. Then proceeded to throw together the worst turkey wrap I've ever seen. There's one slice of turkey! Quality and service was the worst we have experienced. Although I believe this visit deserves one to no stars, I am giving the woman the benefit of the doubt and chalking it up to a bad day at the office. read more

I know, I know.... It's always crowded at this Publix; it's beyond difficult to find parking, maneuvering around cars is challenging, and this Publix doesn't have as large a selection as the other stores. But I love it. It's a neighborhood Publix. Once you make it into the store, it feels like home. Yes, it's got its frustrations but that's part of the "home" feel. (At least at mine) The Publix employees are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Fresh bread, donuts, and bakery selections are limited but high quality. Prosecco is reasonably priced and they have more of a selection than they did a month ago. :) Sushi rolls are tasty, large bottle of Poms always in stock, great cuts of meat, most of the items you need. (I would suggest if you need to buy specialty items or need to shop for the holidays, this might not be the store to visit.... it's a risk. But risk is fun, sometimes.) Store is clean. Check out lines get you through quickly. Always someone to help you to your car. I enjoy this interaction and I'm not really a "people person" but they are sweet and cheerful. Certainly parking can be a challenge here, but overall this Publix is a little gem! The staff is very helpful and produce seems to be fresh. There's a great selection of specialty items for those on various diets and the prices are very competitive in the organic and vegan/vegetarian food sections compared to the natural foods markets in the area. The pre-made food & deli departments are always busy with customers so food turnover is probably high. A very desirable point for those looking for freshness and quality! And the fried chicken here is one of my ultimate weaknesses. Well organized and a little more upscale than other grocery stores makes this Publix great---where shopping is a pleasure! read more

I love going to Publix when I visit FL...my small hometown only has Krogers and they have the worst selection of food and rarely organic. Unfortunately, this Publix was really small, it had a very limited selection and A LOT of food expired this week when normally it would be good 6+months on the shelf. Lastly, I noticed that the majority of customers were non-white... so it's like this particular Publix just did the bare minimum if you compare it to the one I went to in Julington Creek yesterday. This is the most ratchet Publix in the state of Florida. As soon as your car enters the general parking lot premises, you're flirting with disaster. Then God declares Judgement Day. Apocalypse Now. The Destruction of Mankind. Think Mad Max meets the conclusion of Thelma and Louise. Stepping foot inside the actual storefront is a metaphorical step in the right direction. It's weird to me that they don't store one single shopping cart indoors, and most customers seem to forget this key piece of information, resulting in one damn crammed entrance. The only entrance mind you! Once inside, the pain lessens a little bit more. But also the chaos results in chickens running around with their heads cut off. Why are the eggs placed directly across from the beer in an outside aisle? This generates in a pile up as bad as Beyonce's back stage dressing room. Most of it isn't Publix's fault. But it's also the only Publix I've frequented that has a police office on retainer. Riverside, I love you eternally, there's no denying it. But just maybe, find a few solutions to make this Publix a finer shopping experience. That sh*t cray. read more

I have been shopping here since it opened a few years ago and the store keeps getting better. It is one of the smallest Publix around but the management makes sure it stocks a little bit of everything - if they don't have it, ASK! The management is very friendly and helpful to everyone. There is a great organic section, fab bakery, good selection of beer and wine, and a seafood section with a sushi "bar". The fried chicken from their deli is cooked fresh all day, which is a good thing because it moves very fast! This is a great place to shop for every day groceries, specialty items, or just to grab a sub and a drink and have a picnic lunch in Memorial Park (across the street). read more

The quality has changed to average. The deli was once a tasty place to grab something. Now the food is not as good or the selection is poor. You ask for meatballs sub. There are no meatballs? The line is always long, and they are short staffed. The fruit bowls are over ripe or under ripe. The only good thing left are the sandwich wraps and salads. read more

Come nightfall, I am solicited every 10 steps toward the entrance by beggars from chocolates, magazine subscriptions, unsubstantiated Homeless and downtrodden toothless and semi-kept men, women, boys and girls with a hustle and or somebody-done-me-wrong spiel. With this being said, I still love Riverside Publix even with all the characters outside. It helps shine a light on the great experience inside and it feels that much better. Let me be clear; I'd brave the outside shenanigans just to shop Publix where shopping really is a pleasure. The customer service, friendly associates, warm welcomes and the willingness of each level of representatives interacting to ensure their guests are comfortable, finding items with ease and that someone is in proximity to answer inquiries. Three people tonight impressed me and helped my experience be a great one: Matt in dairy, Bryan the bagger who was personable as he carefully positioned my selected items in my bag, and Lecia who was infectious and humorous on checkout #6. Publix spoils me. I expect the level of quality service they've set as precedence for others to attain to. I'm never disappointed. This was a great visit. Now to make it back to my vehicle with groceries in tow without unwanted solicitors knowing I had some form of cash on hand to buy things I needed and not donate to their hustle. Oh...at least buy from the sweet Girl Scouts outside with a necessary donation solicitation and go home with the milk you purchased and was down those Do Si Dos!!! read more

This Publix is usually good. But there have been one off encounters that are troublesome. They're normally stocked with the food that I buy. I get lunch here ever so often too. Definitely better to order ahead or you'll get stuck in the long deli line. It's definitely a smaller Publix, so keep that in mind. Their liquor store isn't even attached to the building. It's located elsewhere in the plaza. I didn't like the AM's response when I was trying to let him know about his employees racist behavior towards my boyfriend In there a few months ago when he was trying to get fruit in the produce section. His response was "that's just how it is now." Coming from someone who's from Lakeland, the original town where Publix started in, and as someone who's worked customer service for nearly a decade, this is an unacceptable answer. The deli lady who's older is always nice to my daughter and gives her cookies when we come in. I also have another personal friend who works there and he's really nice when we come by. I know they have security outside, but there's still transients who will sit in the parking lot and try to harass you. The parking lot is also always a nightmare due to the lack of parking even on close side streets. Again, hit or miss here. It's just the closest to my home. read more

Publix: 'Where shopping is a pleasure' This is the perfect slogan for this chain of supermarkets. There has been at no time where I've rushed my shopping experience, even if I might've been pressed for time. You name it, Publix has it on lock down. Bakery section, *wipes mouth. Deli, pffft, ask about the hot wings. BOGO, week to week they always seem to have just what you need. It's as if they know when you're running low on staple or household items. This location is just off of Park St, an exit away from my job. I find myself making a quick trip here when I need to do some grocery shopping or pay on my JEA bill. I thoroughly enjoy the convenience of being able to shop and pay on my bill, two birds. The staff is always friendly as well. They're eager to assist you, even when there are a few bags, "Do you need help taking this out to your car?" I'm usually flattered but have to respectfully decline, I mean, it's usually only one bag of goods. I recently had to return an item and without hesitation, the assistant manager aided me through the process of getting the situation rectified. If I had a con, it'd be the fact the store is sharing parking with a few shops. I get Pub subs for one reason: the Boar's Head garlic pickles. They aren't the everyday, basic pickle. Now normally I avoid this location because it's small, parking is horrible, and they just don't seem up to the normal Publix standard as workers. Today proved me oh so correct. I decided to place an online order at 1:25pm for a sub to be ready at 2:00pm as per their ordering system. I arrived at 2:10pm to a deli employee telling me they didn't have an order for me. Not even a ticket. So, I showed her my confirmation, and she asked me to write my order down on a sub wrapper. I did as such, and made sure to specify "garlic pickles" on said written order. I know this might seem stupid to many of you, but like I said, this is the entire reason I love their subs so much. I arrived at work with the everyday, basic pickle on my sandwich. Never again will I go to this store I will drive out of my way to head to the Roosevelt location. read more

Worlds worst service. Have tried at least 10 separate occasions in the past 60 days to pickup lunch from the hot bar. After 5-10 minutes each time, I have as yet been unable to get anyone to take an order for the hot bar. A different line than the deli sandwich line. Staff is either fully unresponsive or snippy and rude. I generally prefer Publix of alternatives. However, my experience at this location has me reconsidering supporting ANY Publix location in the future. I suggest looking somewhere else if you actually want deli or hot bar service. their subs are usually on point but last night around 7:30, i ordered (and paid for) a sub ahead and when i got to the deli, they claimed they were out of bread... but i could see their bread case maybe had 6 loafs worth of halfs (and at least one whole white loaf, which is what i originally ordered) i totally get not wanting to make food in the midst of cleaning for close, i'm in the food industry too. but one, it wasn't even 8 and two, the worker was so blatantly lying to me. like, just come up with a better lie lmao read more

This location has a great deli where they usually have several types of chicken salad. They offer monthly specials as in cuisine types..oriental etc..Today I was helped by a friendly lady named Jessie whose smile made my day even brighter.I find this location is clean and well stocked even though smaller in footage than other locations. read more

This Publix is awesome! It's smaller than the Roosevelt Publix but has everything you need, including a huge wine section (I know how Jax likes it's wine ) the produce section is big and always has lots of options. ALSO-it closes at TEN. Where I'm from Publix closes at 9 so this is kinda a big deal. The worst thing about this Publix is...the parking. I usually avoid the parking lot. No for real-I park on side streets nearby and walk. Parking is a nightmare. There's even a sticker that says "I survived Riverside Publix Parking Lot" Okkkkk so-Park on a side street unless it's close to closing time. The cool thing about this location is-it's location. It's next to Sushi Cafe (YUMMY) and two blocks from the river and Memorial Park. Go check it out! read more

This location is close to my work and I come here from time to time. It is Publix "Neighborhood" concept, which simply means there was not enough room to build a normal huge store, so this is a scaled down version. Same great service and selection that you find at larger stores and associates are just as friendly and helpful. There is limited selection on some items, but there is still a bakery, deli, meat and produce departments. Great bakery and deli for catering. Parking is an issue, but only because people use the Publix parking lot to park for the restaurants and shops in the area. In general, parking is an issue in this part of town. read more

I love Publix in general. But as others has said- this one just stinks. Don't get me wrong; the Publix itself is fine. The parking lot sucks! It's so tight and even circling around is a pain. Inside is okay- the aisles are a little tight. It's not set up like your typical Publix- things are placed in places your typical Publix wouldn't be set up. I have to tell you about Miss Jackie in the deli, She makes the very best sandwiches! This review is way overdue! I decided to try this Publix for their sandwiches because I hate to say this but all Publix deli sandwiches are not equal although their standards are supposed to be the same but they aren't! She just puts love in making those sandwiches she will not rush because she knows that gets messy and she will not use old looking vegetables, she will get fresh produce and sauces and soft bread just to make your sandwich the way you want it! She has a good eye for fresh vegetables she chooses to put in your sandwich, I have watched her clean behind every sandwich she makes to include her knife, I observe everything and not everyone does that! she is the sweetest woman while making those sandwiches her conversations are so pleasant. Our city is really in dire need of good customer service from food establishments and she really deserves acknowledgment! She is wearing a mask but you can see her smiling with that mask on, The other deli workers in there that make sandwiches, their whole body language tells me they do not want to be there, but not Miss Jackie she's happy to have a job and she's happy to make your sandwich the way you want it. Pay Attention at the Cash Register About 50% of the time I shop here, I get overcharged for an item, don't get credit for a promotion, or a purchased item that doesn't get bagged. I understand that errors happen, but not this frequently, and never in my favor. And the clerks / baggers are constantly distracting the customer with idle small talk. Probably at the direction of store management. Also, fewer options (brands, sizes, varieties, etc.) in this small format supermarket. And product availability is inconsistent from week to week. Parking lot is very tight. No cart corralls. You are expected to bring your cart back to the building. And at least a few panhandlers make it feel like a sleazy section of town. Yes, it is partly my fault for continuing to shop there, but it is so close to my home and I am often too lazy to drive 6 additional miles to the next closest store. Love this neighborhood Publix, where shopping really is a pleasure. The employees here have superb customer service and are so friendly and kind, it is very much appreciated. They have a nice selection of cheeses and the produce is always very fresh. This Publix is in walking distance to my house, so it is very quick and easy to get to. Of course, as all Publix's are, it's very nice, clean and they are very friendly and are always ready to help if you need it. I definitely love their deli and their buy one get one free deals. read more

Oh Publix, it's really not your fault. Service is great, deli is great, but dang.... the parking lot. This is the closest grocery store to our home, but man, I NEVER want to go here because the parking situation is so terrible. On Tuesday, I had to circle around five times to find a spot... and as soon as I got into my car I was being stalked for my spot. (Give me just a sec OK!!) And getting out of the lot is a cluster you-know-what as well. Gives me road rage just thinking about it. And totally random, there was a parking officer in the lot writing tickets for what it appeared to be expired tags. Sorry Publix, I am a fan of yours, but I avoid this location like the plague.
