I cannot begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for the customer service that I received today from Keegan and Rosann!!! Publix management truly needs to recognize the phenomenal team they have with these two. I was in search for something that was on sale, buy one get one free however I found only one. Keegan Believed that there was quite a bit more which he found and brought to the cashier. Rosann meanwhile kept talking to us and made us feel that we were valued and the most important to her. Keegan went above and beyond the call of duty he wanted to ensure customer needs were met and he did that with a Smile. He was energetic enthusiastic and a phenomenal role model for customer service should be. Every time we go here, they always ran out of the lobster bisque. She said she LOVED oregano on her turkey sandwich. I still curbed my enthusiasm. Short Version: I will no longer add oregano to my turkey sandwich--not that I ever did before. She was friendly, though, as was The Wing Lady. I asked The Wing Lady which wings were most popular. She pointed to two that were right next to each other and said one had a little spice and the other was garlicky. I think she also mentioned something about New Orleans. I asked her to split the wings so I could try both. One kind was indeed garlicky, but the other wasn't spicy and didn't remind me of New Orleans. This Publix is smaller than most & therefore laid out a bit different. I don't mind- you get used to it. I shop the sales. Produce, seafood & meat is always fresh! I'm addicted to the bakery! This is one of my favorite market in Jacksonville and shout out to their deli in making one of the most delicious subs in Jax!! Highly recommend their Publix Chicken tender sub (ask for buffalo sauce on the side) or any Boar's Head subs. Trust me, the subs are just incredible!! I love this Publix, just don't love the location. The parking area is cramped to me and you need to be very careful backing out of your parking space because cars speed through there and many pedestrians walking to and from, either Publix, CVS or the other stores in this small shopping center. As far as the inside of Publix is concerned, I have never had to wait in line for a long period of time because they usually have plenty of cashiers. The only time I had to wait for an extended period of time was right before Hurricane Irma was about to visit Florida, and even then, Publix was prepared and the line moved fairly quickly. I wish I was a "true" Yelper back when I was still eating chicken, because I would rate their fried chicken in the hot-food section a 5-Star! I remember it was seasoned and cooked very good! Their bakery reminds me of an upscale bakery shop back home. Large variety of goodies from cookies, cakes, pastries, pies etc! Since I am a self-proclaimed sweets connoisseur, I must say, their cakes, pies etc are actually pretty good. Not a plain taste like, sweet bread, but it has flavor to it. Not as tasty as homemade but definitely tastier than most grocery store bakeries. This Publix is the closest grocery store to where I live making it convenient and I would probably go here more often if it wasn't for the traffic that goes through here. read more

I went into this store and another area one in mid-April, cashiers "STILL" not wearing masks, gloves, no sneeze guards, no 6' markers for checkout lines, baggers in each line with no gloves/masks, no-self check out lanes, no sneeze guards and mid-day so only three rows open and they were all right beside each other! I asked the store Ast Mgr why the rows couldn't be simply every other or so and why no masks/gloves and he said "If you don't like shopping here you can go somewhere else"! So, I have! Outrageous that they simply don't care about their employees/customers. I emailed their corporate office, only received template response, alerted non-Action news - but, no story, IMO need their advertising $. I returned to check a few days ago, seems they added masks and 6' line markers & tiny sneeze guards but lines still side-side. While the Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration says stores should consider opening up every other cash register to keep workers safe, this is not a requirement and many stores are not taking this measure, said John Grant, president of Local 770 of the United Food and Commercial Workers." This location is right down the street from where I live. The selections and quality of food is amazing , the customer service is top notch and I always enjoy my visits here. I will say of course the price point is higher than most other stores but this is just something that we have all come to know. The lay out of the store leaves me feeling a little miffed as the customer service desk is just inside the front door, and you have to stop there and make a purchase of cigarettes, and then go do your shopping and wait in another line. staff member told me recently that this store is set to be remodeled soon though so we shall see if it gets better. I like the blue apron food demo's and the produce section is sublime. There is also the bakery and flower dept that are super nice. read more

I'm usually here on my lunch when they are running a sale on the chicken tender subs. There's been two instances where my sub was not ready when I arrived after submitting an online order, when it should have been. The last time I decided to order my sandwich at the deli, it took almost 30 minutes for me to get a sub since they have two sandwich stations and one was solely used for online orders. It's ridiculous how they would fix one thing to create another issue. It takes them a good 5-10 minutes to churn out a sub and the lady only making subs for the online order is getting the stare from the folks that are in line. This Publix is dated and in desperate need of a makeover. I was in the area and decided to grab a sandwich from the deli. I should've saved some time and gone to Bubsway which is also in the plaza. There were 3 people ahead of me in line, just before noon and only 2 people making sandwiches, uggh... I waited and waited then waited some more. Nearly 15 minutes before help arrives when the deli worker summoned the manager. The look on her face when she asked who was next was one of frustration or disgust to be working. Nice! I gave her my order, she prepared my sandwich and I left. Why did I wait? I grabbed a few jugs of Gatorade and hit the express line for a speedy checkout. Not! 2 people ahead of me again, the elderly lady paying was digging in her change purse for what seemed to be 5 minutes. Only to be followed by 2 woman pushing the 10 items or less quantity. 2 deli cakes which the cashier had trouble ringing up. Along with 3 gift cards which all require activation. Nearly 8 minutes to ring up 2 customers and bam, the receipt paper jams so the gift card activation receipts and the grocery receipt all jammed. FML! Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere until they bulldoze or rebuild this one... read more

BUY BEWARE!! Yesterday we were panhandled INSIDE OF THE STORE by 3 younger children. And trying to be the kind person I am I agreed to buy them a box of chicken. I didn't have cash and told them I would be ready to check out in a few minutes. They meet me at the register with chicken chips fountain drinks and candy!! What? First of all I take responsibility for agreeing to pay for the chicken and I was okay with that but when the boys left with their $40+ work of bs the cashier asked us if the boys had asked us to pay for it and we said yes, they seemed genuine but I wasn't expecting that much. They laughed and looked at the manager and said they do this everyday and we have talked to them several times before. PAUSE! You sat here rung up the $40+ of food and chose to not say anything to them? You knew when they walked in that they were going to do that and no one said anything to them? How are y'all letting it get to the point that people are comfortable panhandling inside of the freaking store? Honestly I've been going to this Publix since I was in freaking pre-K and I will no longer be going to this location. I'll drive an extra 5 miles to go down the way or hell I'd rather go to freaking Walmart at this point. Horrible customer service! And health code violations! I went to the deli around 1 pm... there were only 7 of us customers in line for a sub with only one girl making them. They had 7 people on the floor and not until I waited 20 min did someone else jump on to help make sandwiches... while I understand the other workers were given their work for the day the fact that I waited 20 min before receiving help when they were at least 3/4 staffed is poor management skills on the department manager... the department manager was on the floor too and didn't help at all. I honestly felt bad for the girl working a lunch rush by herself... then when I got up to the glass to where the sandwiches are made I noticed condiments and topping were blended with others... there were pieces of spinach in the onion container... my mother is highly allergic to leafy greens... something to do with the preservatives idk, but what if she had order onions then went into anaphylactic shock... 10/10 disappointed in this store if working for Publix for five years taught me anything it was the high standards they held us (the employees) too. I promise, Publix Chicken always delivers. The only exception is if you are in South Florida, specifically Miami. I'm not too sure what they do with that chicken (unless you've lived in Miami, you just wouldn't understand lol). The Baymeadows location is normally a nice visit. Great location and the store provides great customer service. Only disappointment is there only being one more out of the bogo Breyer's Delight ice cream. $5.29 for two pints is a sweet deal if the ice cream is good. read more

This has been my go-to grocery store since I moved to Florida almost 5 years ago. While it's typically okay (minus the deli department, which has never had my to-go order ready on time), this weekend was the final straw, and I'll be switching stores. Unfortunately this place has a few too many "bad apples" to make me want to come here. Most of the employees are very nice (the guy in the fish department and the ladies who make the Aprons meals) and welcoming. However, during my previous few visits here, I've had the rudest cashiers, who seem to be bothered at the fact that I dare check out in their aisle. On my last visit, the cashier on the express lane didn't say one word to me and gave me a dirty look when I told him to have a nice day. I used to work retail jobs and I get it - you aren't always in the mood to deal with people. But, there is no excuse to be rude. Combine this with the fact that most of their prices are crazy high compared to other stores ($7.98 for a bag of coffee that is $3.95 at Walmart? Please), and I'm just done with this place. read more

I was walking my dog and needed a break. I went inside and got water and tea then back outside to my dog and boyfriend. I sat down and a gentleman came outside and asked if we were charging up. I said yes as we had just plugged in my phone while waiting for someone to meet us there. He stated that we would have to soon leave because he couldnt have us sitting there. Wow! I am a store patron and told to leave in a polite way. I'm sorry that that gentleman had a problem but we wasnt bothering anyone. And of course on the way out employee returning carts into the store seems me through the door but proceeds to barrel on through with all the carts almost running me over. This is not my favorite Publix in the area (I prefer the location at Southside and Touchton) but is closest to my work (and halfway between work and home) so I find myself there on a pretty regular basis. The setup of this store is different than most (my understanding is that Publix is working on getting all of the stores setup the exact same so this may not be true for too much longer) which always throws me for a loop. This store also feels a lot smaller than others (which may be in part to the setup, not sure if it's actually smaller). The staff is friendly (I mean, it's Publix) and the store is clean but it just feels sort of outdated compared to a lot of other locations. The deli area seems to always be super crowded and chaotic feeling. Not my favorite Publix but it's still better than a lot of other grocery stores. read more

What's not to love about the Publix supermarket! This one is under construction at the entrance which is why I deducted a star. The grocery selection is great. I love their brands, their yogurt is my favorite. It is always on sale and it tastes great...real fruit and very smooth like a parfait. The ice cream is delish as well. My sister from NC always stocks up on their ice cream before going home. They have insulated freezer bags and dry ice. The meats and seafood are always fresh and great for grilling at home. This publix is the one that is close to my house, I give three stars because they always have everything I want and need regarding groceries and checking out is good and employees are friendly. However the Deli/Subs area is terrible, many many times we call our order in and we get there 20/25 minutes later and they got no food ready or they make it incorrectly. The manager in the Deli is always hanging out and talking when she could be helping with the line of customers. They take way too much time making a sub they need to get a faster service, I can't wait 20 minutes for a subs when I have firehouse down the street and it is so much faster and efficient. read more

Publix is a great store to shop at, especially this one. All of the employees are really friendly and helpful. The store is always clean too. They have good BOGO deals. One reason I love Publix so much is because of their coupon policy. They accept competitor coupons and they allow coupon stacking, so you can really save a lot if you use coupons. My go-to grocery when it comes to Deli and some produce as they're cheaper and far better than Winn-Dixie next door. Their Fried Chicken is to die for! I can literally eat the whole 8-piece Fried Chicken in one sitting! I have to try their subs as well. I've only heard good things about it. The customer service on this store rivals none. The ads they run is real. Does not accept Apple Pay and Android Pay. Accepts Samsung Pay, but sometimes the card reader will give you an error.
