Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you experience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. This particular Publix is located in a decent sized shopping plaza on the southside of Jacksonville, Florida. It has a cool enough ambiance and was enjoyable enough to shop. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities where Publix opens a location are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location for that matter and I give it five stars for a great experience. read more

I always find it funny when I check into a Publix that I haven't reviewed. This location is at Town Center and I frequented this particular Publix many times over the last 4 years. This was my stop if I had anything at Town Center to do- I could pop in here and then jump on 295 & Butler and be home in just minutes. The store itself is larger than the one closest to my home and also the one near my work. Town Center kinda makes you want to go big or go home! The store is always neat and clean and employees always friendly and helpful. I found one of my favorite deli food here a few times- something I used to enjoy at my local Publix before I moved to Jax- and potato ball filled with meat! One of the things about Publix is that the departments between stores may offer different items based on store demographics. I used to live in a Cuban populated area and they had several Cuban and Hispanic foods in the bakery and deli. I was so thrilled when I realized this location had some of these specialty items! I would stop by just to hit up their deli! read more

Needs to maintain Higi machine if you are going to have it on premises. You have to press a ridiculous amount of times for each screen to work. I have requested Higi service the machine but no one seems to care. read more

The customer service is great, the isles are spacious and kept clean, the produce section is stocked and restocked with fresh fruit and vegetables. They have great price and a variety of nice flower arrangements for special occasions Conveniently located at the end of town center so most of the time your not jammed up in traffic. Other grocery stores will say I can help you over here, etc. I'm just used to the above and beyond friendly service I get from other Publix stores. This is my favourite Publix in all of Jacksonville. Publix is known for their superior service, cleanliness, etc., but they really go above and beyond here. Their motto is "Shopping is a pleasure," and it definitely is here! You could not ask for a more spacious, clean, organized, well-stocked store. Everything is always in its place. If you need assistance, there's always an employee nearby. You don't have to go searching aimlessly throughout the store to find someone. Unlike most grocery stores where flowers are almost always dying and limp, the flowers in their floral section are always fresh and beautiful. They also have a lot to choose from. The employees in the deli are wonderful. I love their subs. If you haven't tried one, you should. I prefer subs from Publix over any of the sub shops in Jax. They also sell Boar's Head deli meats which, in my opinion, are the best of deli meats. Checking out is a breeze because they always have plenty of cashiers. The baggers never fail to offer to help me to my car with my items and even if I decline, they always insist and help me anyway. Even the parking lot is clean! Publix can be more expensive than other grocery stores, but they always have a lot of BOGO offers going on. In my opinion if you've been to one Publix you've pretty much been to them all give or take a store or two. I ran in here looking for fresh catfish because we decided to have our Memorial Cookout on Sunday instead of that Monday. I walked up to the seafood counter and nobody was there, I asked the employee were there open and he immediately found someone to assist me. I waited about two minutes and another employee walked by asking was I okay and assuring me that help was on the way. It feels good to receive great customer service, especially so early in the morning on a day when everyone should be resting and collecting their thoughts. Even with a large task on his hands the guy who packaged my catfish still engaged in conversation and didn't rush me or my indecisiveness. They can't ever disappoint. Organized, clean, fully stocked and almost always have a BOGO free deal. I also love doing the ordering lol through instacart and then picking it up. They're on point with that service also and if the person messed up with the instacart delivery they let you exchange or return. read more

This is my go to Publix since I live in town center, I'm pretty disappointed that a cashier told me with 15 items in my basket that I couldn't go through the 10 item. Am I wrong? Yes because I had 5 extra items, did I find out my gramma was in the hospital having a bad day and just trying to get out the grocery store? YES. Never really had any worries at this location. The staff is very friendly and approachable. I really love the produce section. Everything seems to be fresh and within reasonable dates. The rest of the store is formatted a little bit different than most Publixs so it takes me a little bit longer to get in and out of this location. Having a publix this close to your house is both a blessing and a curse. Great deals on most essentials within walking distance, but that means their subs are also within walking distance, and that does not bode well with new year resolutions! This Publix seems to be newer than others that I've seen in the city, and it has all the usual things, deli counter, fresh fish and lobster at the back and a pharmacy which i haven't used. My favourite thing about this location is the international food section, I'm able to get all my home comforts from the UK, albeit at a large markup. Staff are always helpful and never make you feel like by shopping there you are a inconvenience to them. All in all a good store with good deals most of the time! read more

At every turn there was a representative acknowledging my presence in the aisle and offering assistance. I was actually done in 5 minutes but spent another 15 minutes getting Shopkick points. Checkout was a breeze as the clerk made filler conversation about the local football teams win. I feigned enough to sound like I watched football to participate. All in all it was a pleasure. The grocery store is amazing. The pharmacy is THE WORST! 3 months straight they've messed up over 6 prescriptions at different times. The pharmacy department can NOT communicate to save their lives. They don't call you when they are out of things. You drive there, get in line, pick up your other prescriptions & then they say "oh BTW your most important prescription is out" or "you have no refills". Ok well then why didn't you tell me that on the phone 12 hours ago when I called you and confirmed the 4 prescriptions I need???? It's insane and happens EVERY MONTH. They will also text me that they are ready then have me step out of line to "finish something". They are slow, don't communicate or show much sympathy for your wasted time. Someone with leadership skills needs to take over this pharmacy fast. read more

The employees are friendly and helpful....The shelves are well-stocked and the store is very organized, so it shouldn't be any issue finding what you need... Last time I was there I bought some eggs and the cashier looked at them and said my eggs looked "eggcellent" then the bagger and the cashier just kept the egg puns coming. I was loving it. I'm going to start off saying there deli dept is amazing and the store is clean and well lit. There fried chicken wings were not the best. I had to return them bc they were over cooked. This is my 5th time visiting and each time I get to check out no one says hello did you find everything ok. On one occasion the bag boys asked but never the cashiers. Publix is known for there customer service and for this to continually happen I feel some type of way and for the cashiers to speak to the person in front of me and the following customer I can't return. read more

I've been a Publix girl for as long as I can remember. I even worked at a Publix in High School many moons ago. I know some people find it odd that there is a grocery store in Town Center, but I assure you, there are plenty of us that actively live in the area and are happy to have a Publix so close. It's also incredibly handy to have a clean, well-lit, well-stocked store so close to the University of North Florida. That being said, I really do like this Publix although I feel that their prices are just a little more than other Publix stores in the vicinity. I don't know if that's because of the location or something else. That would be my only gripe about this store. I love that this Publix has a lot of exotic fruits and veggies and I actually like their made in house sushi as well. They also have a pretty decent beer and wine selection considering that they are in the same strip mall as Total Wine. And to reiterate what Matt S. said in his review, the cashiers are very pretty and extremely helpful. Lots of business women shop after work here as well, so if you just like looking at pretty people, this Publix is for you! :) Lots of parking, although at busy times the parking lot can still get pretty full. read more

NEED TO WORK ON THAT HOT BAR! This store is currently undergoing renovations and the exterior actually looks new. As you walk around inside, you will see the barriers and dry wall indicating that work is being done. I visited this store for my favorite Mardi Gras wings but was disappointed to see that they were actually the color of a rich bechamel sauce instead of their usual golden brown color. Hmmmm? Pass! Publix really needs to work on their hot bar because if food does not look fresh and appetizing, it should simply be removed. How hard is that? The remainder of the hot dishes including the hot bar, just looked dried out and past their prime. The good news is that there are other Publix stores in the area so we decided to just ease on down the road to find another option. We did purchase hot tortilla soup from the soup bar and a prepared turkey cobb salad which was delicious and very generously sized. *** .The store was well stocked with the basics and as usual, customer service was very nice. read more

Wow. As I was walking into this Publix supermarket, I was wondering why they would build one at the St. Johns Town Center. I didn't notice too many houses in the area, although I don't live there, so I'm not sure. But after a long day of shopping, rather than stopping off at the local Publix, I made my way into this Publix so I could go straight home. Right from the get go, it was obvious this was a brand new Publix, and it was great. Plenty of parking in the front, and as I said, since this is a new Publix, everything was shiny and new. It was the standard selection of Publix fare, quite a bit of groceries, all at a pretty good price. My only complaint with Publix is that their soda prices, as well as bottled water, seem to be extremely higher than what you can find at a Target or Wal-Mart, however everything else is pretty competitive. The selection definitely is great, though, and this Publix had a pretty impressive selection of organic foods, almost an entire aisle, which is a lot more than I've seen in other grocery stores. One weird thing I noticed- this store has the prettiest cashiers I've ever seen. Seriously. When I cashed out, there were three cashiers, all females in their early 20's, and they were drop dead gorgeous! Three bag boys, all in their early 20's, all good looking dudes. Not sure if that was planned, and it was odd to see, but they were all incredibly pleasant, and put a nice cap on my shopping experience. I'm a die-hard Publix guy, and this is one of the best. Everyone knows that their Publix is the best, but honestly I love my Publix! There's many employees whom I've gotten to know and I enjoy chatting with every week. They not only care about the customers but are also very helpful. I once needed ingredients I was unfamiliar with and one gentleman walked me through quickly picking out all of them with me.
