I've been sleeping on Aldi's! It's nicer than I thought. The store is clean and organized. You need a quarter for a cart (which you get back) and your own tote bags (or you can buy paper bags). Aldi's prices are typically cheaper than other grocery stores. They have good options (wish they sold Activia Yogurt). They have organic foods, not many, but enough. I mainly buy produce, but have ventured over into the other aisles and picked up some goodies (a huge pizza, different cheeses, lunch meats, almond milk, frozen shrimp and tuna, and even pasture raised eggs!). The lines are usually long, but the cashiers are fast. The customer base are good people. Several times over, I've seen folks with carts FULL of food, let those with one or two items skip in line. Very kind gesture. Aldi's is simple, no fuss, good bang for your buck kind of store. read more

Plenty of options for food and even clothing. I would like a self checkout but there's no option for that so cashier is fine! It is not large, on a smaller size but you can buy what you need with ease. The store is clean, organized. Every time I ever come to this Aldi location, there is a line that stretches at least halfway back through the store if not longer. Even on weekend only ever one checkout lane open. There are no self checkouts and not even an express lane. If I'm just there to pick up a few things I certainly not gonna wait in line behind 11 other people with a full cart! More than once I've put my items back and left without buying anything because of this ridiculous scenario. Open some more lanes, make one of them and express lane, and maybe consider getting a couple of self checkouts. I'm gonna find another location to shop at. read more

I came into this store for 3 things. There were only two registers open and the lines were backed up at least 10 carts deep for both lanes. I asked a lady who was transporting stock if they would be opening another line and with an attitude, she said "they'll open another line when they need too." And walked away. Clean and modern location with plenty of parking. Everything is easy to find but unfortunately they were weirdly nearly out of almost flavors of Keurig coffee pods for several days recently. I'll be back here when I'm in town but hopefully they can keep the coffee in stock. read more

The cashiers are super fast and efficient. Once a while ago I thought I lost my money. The young lady who rang up my order ( $55 ) gave me money to purchase such. Not knowing me or would I return to pay her back!! I was amazed!! Luckily when I went to pay my bill I found my cash which had fallen on the front under drivers seat I immediately returned and paid her back !! Some people have hearts of gold!! Nice location to do your shopping and groceries. The store has plenty of parking and is also nearby some restaurants and coffee shop. Great value prices on their grocery items and the produce looks fresh and plentiful. They also have a seasonal aisle where they sell miscellaneous items from clothes, toys, housewares and other small appliances. read more

This is probably my favorite Aldi in the Jacksonville area. The store has a new, clean feel. It feels closest to the stores I visited in Southern Germany. The store is one of the largest and has such a great variety of foods, drinks, snacks, and home goods. I like their prepared section and one of my favorite things they have had more recently is the poke bowl. It is great. They also have a selection of German products such as snacks, desserts and an assortment of cheese, sausages and during Oktoberfest, even more such as strudels, pasta, schnitzel and many other items. One reason I love coming here is because there is always something new to try. Their stock changes frequently and there is a new flavor to explore fairly often. The prices are great. This is a no frills shopping experience but it keeps the prices very affordable. Bring a quarter for a deposit to "rent" a shopping cart. You will insert the coin to release the cart, and when you return it you get it back. All items on shelves are in the original shipping boxes. They do this to eliminate stocking time to help keep the prices low. You also won't find a lot of employees wandering around asking you for assistance. This doesn't bother me though since the store is organized well and I usually go in just to see what they have. Overall, I really like this store and will continue to go because the quality of the products are good, the prices are fair and the store is generally very clean. read more

Tips: Bring a quarter and keep your Aldi quarter in your car! Bring your own shopping bags. Aldi makes you pay 10 cents per plastic bag! My favorite things to buy is Aldi chocolate from Germany that is way better than Peterbrooke. I also like to see seasonal specialty products. If you are making a charcuterie board, go to Aldi. They have a blueberry goat cheese that is so delicious. They also have block Colby cheese that you can use or other hard cheeses. Brie is also reasonable. I like to buy vegetables: Brussel sprouts, mixed greens salad, and broccoli browns. The prices are cheaper at Aldi because of how they display their product in cardboard boxes. Take a look at their frozen meat and seafood section. I like to get the 2 lb famly package of tilapia. It's good to have in the freezer to cook in my airfryer. read more

This is my favorite grocery store! It's simple, clean, budget friendly, environment friendly, and almost always stocked with the things I need. You're not bombarded with tons of BOGO sales tempting you to buy things you probably don't need. You're in and out with the things you need. They do have sales that are advertised in their flyer. I prefer organics and their store brand organics are comparable to non organic prices of other grocery stores. Not sure if it's considered a downside or just being environment friendly, but you have to bring a quarter to get a cart and your own grocery bags. You get your quarter back as long as you return the cart back to its location. However I try to shop with bags so I know that I have enough bags to carry my groceries out and helps me limit what I buy. I love Aldi as I can "Save A Lot" more (see what I did there?). I used to shop at the other stores and ended paying more for less items. This particular location I've never been to so it would be interesting to see how it's different from the other locations, particularly the one I last shopped at which was Southside Blvd years ago. Wow what an experience! This location is much nicer and more modern, and I also saw that they carry name brands whereas before I saw none. I didn't expect to walk out with more than enough food for two weeks, from foods like dragonfruit which I would not find at the above mentioned grocer, 40-calorie bread for much less than the grocer across the street, and the delicious Orange Jaffa Cakes which I wouldn't find at either. It doesn't bother me that I need a quarter for the cart. Aldi has a quarter-holder keychain for when you go or if you're lucky, some will donate their cart that they're returning. This is part of how they keep costs down and I'll definitely be back. read more

Aldi oh have I missed you since moving from Baltimore to the beaches area in Jacksonville. I'm so happy they opened a new store at Town Center. I went with a friend on opening day. This store is about double the size of the one I use to shop in which is great since it will be a busy store there is more isle space and more grocery items to choose from. Aldi offers nearly half price on certain everyday grocery purchases such as bread, milk, eggs and cheese. They have quality products at the right price. Lots of produce, canned and freezer items. You will need a quarter for a buggy and bring your own grocery bags or purchase and reuse their bags. I'm happy they finally started excepting credit cards as they use to only accept debit. Check your mail for a flyer with a coupon for $5, off $30 purchase. When we excited the store an employee gave us three more coupons as described above to use the next three weeks. If you like to save money and you are not stuck on name brand items (although they do offer a few name brand products) this is the store for you! read more

I find I buy produce here primarily, they usually have fantastic deals on fresh fruits and veggies and today was no different! Blueberries were what I had my eye on! A bag of other goodies later.... I also love their prices for cheeses- I almost always grab gouda and a wedge of parmesan. And... tortillas. Let's just say my random assortment of items would make others wonder- what is she cooking at home! I was a dedicated Publix shopper, but ever since this Aldi popped up near my locale, that has changed. Aldi stocks their own brand of items that are just as good, if not better than national brands for the low low. The store is a Costco like concept with everything still in boxes, not neatly shelved, and they don't bag your groceries for you (don't forget your reusable bags and quarter for your cart). The store is smaller than Publix with not as much of a selection, but trust me people none of that matters when you are paying 85 cents for a loaf of bread, inexpensive but quality produce, dairy, pantry items, household goods and so forth. If you like saving your bacon (aka money if you didn't get my lame joke ) and like only paying 3 bucks for bacon, Aldi is the place to shop! read more

This new Aldi's at the town center is bigger and more spacious than the one by the Avenues mall. The layout is nicer and the aisles are pretty wide. I think this location carries a bit more items since it's bigger. It has a better selection of fresh produce then the Southside store, and more wine choices (which is a big plus for me! LOL). The meat selection can be limited, but they also have some fresh fish as well. Aldi's is known to carry their own brand, but they are much cheaper and the quality is just about the same as with the name brands you find at Publix or Winn Dixie. Staff is pretty friendly and they will open more checkout lines when it starts to get backed up, so there's a pretty good system there. As with all Aldi's you need a quarter for the cart (such a New Englander lol) and some reusable bags. They also have plastic and paper bags for sale, I think it's about a nickel a bag. The parking lot is pretty spacious and this Aldi's is conveniently located off of 295. Check out Aldi's if you've never been, I bet you'll get a weeks worth of groceries for about 20 bucks. read more

The building looks new and fresh and fits in well with the town center area. And then you get closer. You try to grab a cart...... oh, you have to bring quarters to have access to one. Does Aldi think all their customers are grocery cart thieves? Probably not. They are definitely too cheap to hire even a minimum wage employee to retrieve the carts though. That is a more likely explanation. Walking in, you are treated to a nice enough looking store. But then you walk through the isles. There are produce all over the place, and isles are disorganized. Almost like nobody has been around to put stuff back to it's intended place in a long while. You realize that you have a question, so now you look for an employee. Any employee will do. And then you realize there is nobody around, just the lonely cashier that has too many customers in line to help you with your, unimportant by now, question. So you just grab some stuff that you think you need and proceed to the cashier. In the long line (since Aldi is too cheap to hire more cashiers), you start pondering: is this gluten free? Is this coupon still valid? You definitely don't know because you couldn't find an employee. So you decide to ponder the cheapness of this company. Maybe you just need to give them a chance. Surely you are over exaggerating. What is that? Did the cashier just ask if you would like to purchase a bag? So now you have to pay for a bag? How cheap is.......... never mind. Yes, you denounce, I would like to purchase a bag, but I have milk and ice cream and a paper bag would just disintegrate because of the sweat from the cartons. What is that? You do not have plastic bags? You ask frantically. So you expect me to pay for a crappy paper bag that will rip half way to my car? So you end your transaction and you expect the cashier to bag the products you just bought, in the crappy paper bag that you also just bought. But instead she just points you towards a counter where you bag your own groceries. So now you are bagging your groceries and you look up, and you are standing under a huge, obnoxious sign that states: "Simply smart shopping." And that statement says it all. It really is simply smart shopping, not for the customer who was nickled and dimed all through the store, but for Aldi. Who just sold you groceries at the same price as the Publix across the street, charged you for carts and bags, made you bag your own purchase and made sure to only have 1 employee visible in the whole store. What is all the hype about? I went to this Aldi and I'm not impressed. Every thing looks picked over, the selection is small and no name brands. This looks like a Save A Lot (knockoff Winn Dixie). Actually it is a Save A Lot in a fancy area for people who are to good to visit the hood. Thank god Publix was across the street. I love the Aldi's at the Towncenter! I got very unique and expensive items today for less than half the price of other retail stores. Some items I don't purchase elsewhere because they have such a hefty price tag. They had plenty of the gourmet foods that I absolutely love. Such as, goat cheese, smoked gouda, creamy blue cheese, prosciutto, hazelnut spread, cherries, artichokes, assortment of olives, avacodo's, mangos and cashews to list a few things. I love Aldi!! This was my first visit to the new Town Center location. It was very nice. My wife is there weekly. I have no complaints about anything I have ever tried from Aldi. Great products. From breads to beers and wine. I love their snacks and cookies. Meats and cheeses are wonderful. Pizza is marvelous. I cannot say enough good things about Aldi. If you don't know what Aldi is, you are missing out! Aldi has been my go-to grocery store for YEARS. This location is brand new, and located conveniently off of I-295 near the town center. So just a little bit about Aldi's, (in case you're unfamiliar) Aldi is a grocery store that sells their own "Aldi" brand name food, wine, beer, baby items, drinks, and other random household goods. They also sell popular brand name items (such as Kraft and Hormel for example.) When you arrive, you'll notice that the carts are all chained together. You insert a quarter to release one, and get your quarter back when you return the cart. This is to help keep the costs down, so they're not out there retrieving carts in the parking lot all day long. So back to the Aldi items... don't be afraid to purchase them! Chances are, they are just as good as the popular leading brand names! (Their pasta sauce for .99 cents is my FAVORITE over Prego/Ragu... etc.) Most items are insanely inexpensive. They will almost always have just about everything you need on your shopping list. When you're finished shopping and head up front to the cashier, you'll notice that they have no bags! Folks, BRING YOUR OWN BAGS! (OR you have the option to purchase paper ones for 7 cents at the register, plastic ones for a wee bit more, and even reusable ones too!) Again, Aldi does not supply bags for free because it helps keep their costs down. While it may seem like a minor inconvenience, it's well worth it once you see how much money you've saved by shopping here. Aldi does not accept coupons, WIC, or checks, so be sure to bring cash, EBT, or your debit card! Here's a tip from me personally: Forget bags? As you are shopping, look for empty product boxes or large metal carts with empty boxes in them... They are free, for those of us who forget our bags! read more

This was my first visit to Aldi. I had heard that you need to bring reusable bags to avoid paying a charge for plastic bags, so thankfully I had plenty of reusable bags. I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I walked in, it was clean, neat, and very organized. There were a lot of sales going on, and the majority of what I was looking at was not expensive at all. I'm sure a lot of people come here for the prices versus the prices of Publix across the street. The only downside of shopping here is that they had only one line open, and the line of people that were there around 5 pm on a weekday grew in a short amount of time. I felt bad for the cashier, because it was about 5 minutes before other workers noticed the lines and started opening more registers to accommodate the long line. But I would come here again for the prices! read more

My roommate and I have been shopping at Aldi since they hit Northeast FL, he's from Italy, does most of the cooking (and shopping, thank the Lourd) in the house and totally reminds him of European grocery marts in his country... Today was so disappointing, I swear to you that half of all the fresh produce, fruits, etc were labeled wrong... for example the light red grapes stated .99/pound and that they are now weighing versus per the package, however dark grapes had signage that stated $1.79/2lb package and no weighing sign... in addition the apples, and multi colored peppers... same or similar issues... even ran into a similar pricing issue with ground beef... I don't go to the grocery store and nickel and dime my bill, but it's definitely frustrating when the roommate happens to be eyeballing the scanning totals, points it out, then a scene ensues and we're basically told "too bad, our signs don't fit the shelf, and it could have even fallen off, etc..." by an anxious short tempered female manager, who then runs back there with more signs to place... Hey, ya know... think I'll take my time, money, patience back to Publix for a while where shopping is a pleasure... I'll pay a quarter more here and there not to have a hassle or a scene! Yea I'll give them a while to get proper fitting signage... the basics... read more

Cheap prices, but it can be a bit crowded during weekends and rush hours. Remember to bring your own bags and a quarter for shopping cart. The layout is very similar to the Aldi on Southside Blvd near Avenues mall. They have everything I need from snacks, fruits, and veggies to meat, milk, and yogurt, but at considerably lower prices (at least for certain items). Aldi is one of my favorite grocery stores. Although it can get a bit hectic with shopping carts traffic jam in the aisles of you shop during busy hours. Best of all, you don't have to shop in Walmart environment to save a few bucks. They offer lower prices by through several strategies in addition to the quarter shopping cart system and bring-your-own-bag. Aldi offers off-brand/generic products instead of brand name items. They increase efficiency (less workers needed) by keeping items in the boxes (specifically designed for Aldi shelves) they shipped in instead of using traditional grocery store shelves, which means less employees needed for stocking things. They carry less items (smaller selection) = smaller inventory = smaller store = less utility/rent = savings! Small selection of items also allows them to order in higher volume for a more discounted price. Plus Items have multiple bar codes to increase check out speed. Thank you, German efficiency. First visit to Aldi. While it's ok, I was underwhelmed. The specials are decent, the regular prices a bit high. Many items are listed in price per ounce, and when you convert to price per pound, you realize many staples there are a bit pricey. Good selection of fresh fruits & vegetables, meat products, and quite a few gourmet cheeses. Limited variety of many dry grocery items. Not much as far as healthy or keto options. Pricing is better at Big Lots, Publix in many cases, Walmart, Sams, etc. than here. read more

I typically shop at this ALDI location weekly for my families groceries. The store is always clean and staff is very friendly with easy parking. Be sure to bring a quarter to borrow a cart and bring your own bags (they do have bags available for a minimal cost). I find that I can purchase 98% of my groceries here. Every once in a while I will have to run to a different store for a random item. The majority of the items are under their own labels but are very similar to name brands, so no need to worry about coupons or sales. They have a great return policy in case you purchase something you don't care for. I tend to avoid purchasing most of the frozen processed items and weekly specialty items found on the "aisle of shame". I would suggest going mid morning if possible, as the store tends to be well stocked and very quiet. read more

Keeping a quarter in the car for a cart is a great idea. For those flustered or aggravated by them not having someone there to get your cart because you did not want to walk the few feet to return it yourself, and the limited staff, well... That is how they keep their prices so low. The cashiers also have to stock and return items customers leave all over the place because they change their minds and are too lazy to put the item back. It is an environmental plus for them having us bring our own bags. The reusable ones they sell are fairly priced and so far have held up well. You know in advance that there is limited staff, so check the sales paper online before you go. Aldi's does NOT take coupons of any kind. Sending coupons back to the manufacturer to get the reimbursement for the discount they give a customer also costs them. Besides. They are pretty cheap. It is the only place I can fully stock our pantry without breaking the bank. I don't work for them. I just believe in what they are trying to do.
