It's true. If you've been to one ALDI then you've been to them all. More so than any other chain of retail stores I have patronized and that includes CVS and Walgreens, ALDI has a formula and they stick to it hard. This ALDI in Jacksonville is my 58th ALDI review and that includes 5 other ALDIs in Florida. Carts outside that require a 25 cent deposit. Inside, the aisle are laid out the same with produce and then dry goods. Commercial bakery (not a fresh bakery as they do not have a bakery on site), cold items like cheese and such, aisles of canned goods, baking, kitchen, beer and wine (if allowed by state law), meats and seafood, freezer bunkers, frozen coolers and of course, the Aisle of Awesomeness with random stuff that you never know. Sometimes, lawn sprinklers or security lighting or women's pajama sets. It's just fabulous. Checking out today with snacks and sliced meat and slices cheese was easy and efficient. I'd brought my reusable shopping bag so no need to purchase bags today. And then return the cart to get my deposit back. Five stars for this ALDI in Jacksonville. I searched the Aldi website to share my feedback, but as I could not find a link in their portal, it is obvious they do not care. This store was deplorable, from the weeks of trash outside under the carts to the days old filth on the floor through out the store. I asked the clerk if they were short handed, and without a pause she said no, I said the store is filthy, and she said no one cares. This is an old store and it is what it is. NO the staff and management don't care! And I blame regional, no store falls in this disrepair with out someone noticing. I like Aldi, but this place turned my stomach! read more

Clean inside and out. Produce is fresh and delicious. Meats are well priced. Frozen section is cheap, 2 Salmon $4. Don't forget to bring bags or you'll pay .07 for a paper sack. Buggy's are .25cents but if you put it back you'll get a quarter back. Nice folks! read more

If you've never shopped at Aldi's before, make sure you bring a quarter to rent a cart and some reusable bags (if you don't want to buy them) or you can use one of the empty corrugate boxes for packing. It's a discount supermarket based in Germany so you'll find several German food products here. People that haven't shopped in an Aldi's before may be surprised to learn that they sell more than just food. There are aisles of Aldi's finds that includes toys, camping products, household products and much more. When I first moves too FL, the closest location was in Middleburg. Three years later, there are now four locations in Jacksonvile, this being the 4th. So what's better than saving money shopping at Aldi's? Saving more money! I recently learned about this location from a flyer I received in the mail and normally frequent the Town Center location but if y'all read any of my reviews, I love a good deal so I decided to check out this location in order to redeem the $5 off a $30 purchase coupon. I'm not in the Regency area often and not too fond of it so I didn't have high expectations of this location but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Although this location has a shared lot, I feel like this store is larger and brighter than the Town Center location. Perhaps it's the taller ceilings that gives that illusion, but the selection here seems to be larger too, especially the liquor section. Aldi's is one of a several grocery stores in my weekly rotation. As much as I like the convenience of the Town Center location, I'm really like this location and may just start coming here regularly. read more

I've been in this location a couple times and for very specific items that were out of stock every time I came in. I enjoy shopping at Aldi for the oddball items- And I am partial to a few of their regular products. John used to work next door to this location occasionally- so it was an easy visit him and run next door. I was hoping for some advertised items- but it was a bust. People are on top of their shopping game when it comes to these stores! That- and things in general are flying off shelves! Don't forget your quarter for the carts! Aldi is a very familiar store for me, since I grew up in Germany, unfortunately the chain transfered the European customer service culture to its American stores. Aldi does not value good customer service, only speedy check out. It upsets me how the cashiers trash my food into the cart, without thoughts that this is something I'm going to eat. The customer service within the store is also nonexistent, if one is lucky to find someone, they are usually rude and don't know anything, and are not even willing to assist. Further I was hoping to actually find German items, in particular bread, but they only carry Schwarzbrot. Around Christmas it's a bit better. But Aldi has a good cheese selection for decent prices. I do not care for the Aldi brand butter, it has a strange taste. But overall, if you look you are able to find lots of specialty items ranging from gluten-free products, granola, dressings and sauces to good priced organic eggs and meats. The produce is OK, it usually looks good, but lacks a bit in flavor. And in the afternoons the shelves look pretty much picked over. Aldi Finds has a selection of useful and not so useful items, mostly ok priced. But here it shows that the chain originates in Europe, I often see items that sell overseas, but not so much here. It doesn't make sense to have scarves and gloves at full price at the end March in Florida. 3 stars for lack of german items and terrible customer service. Great prices! Great food! ...BUT I HATE SHOPPING THERE! BAD: My only concern is sometimes their fruit is over ripe, which you dont know until you get home! The staff rushes you going through the check out line and THROWS YOUR FOOD IN THE BASKET! EXCUSE ME....I just paid $6 for those organic peaches, please dont THROW them in the basket. They are also very rude if you question a price or ask them to slow down so you can watch the prices. Ugh!!! GOOD: Reasonably priced. If you don't shop at Aldi, you need to. It makes me so happy that this one just opened up because I don't have to drive to the Town Center for groceries anymore! I went on opening day and have been several times since. I was very impressed not only with the stock of the food but also how open and welcoming this store feels! I like this one the most out of any in Jax. Aldi has a great selection of produce and much of it is organic. The best part? You don't have to pay those "whole paycheck" organic foods prices. I bought a whole bag of gorgeous organic peaches for under $3. That's a bargain! The cashiers are well-known across the country for being very efficient. They get you through the aisle quicker than you can say "Don't bag the milk." But I appreciate that kind of pep because I'm usually hungry by the time I leave the store. Aldi's great, and there are a lot of good deals to be found here, but make sure you allot at least 10 minutes to wait in line, maybe longer. I work nearby and often stop in to pick stuff up on my lunch, just to walk straight back out when I see how long the line is. They often have only one cashier. I wish they had more, or had a self check-out option. read more

They get a great score! This is a brand new Store. Bring a QUARTER with you to "rent" the buggy for your shopping experience. We bought several meats for our dinners and salad mixes for our lunches. The store is spacious and the produce is in the front door. Great idea. We forgot to bring our "Aldi" bags, so we bought two more. The reason for the minus one star is because the Cashier was going too fast. I like to see what is being rung up. She started scanning the next order before I even finished paying and removing my debit card out of the machine. I thought she could of been more personable. That's what's it's all about. The Cashier is the last impression of the store and what the customers remember the most. We moved to the bagging counter and had plenty of space. On the high note was coming in the front door where the interesting 25 cent buggies. There was an Employee helping those who have never shopped there before and how to unlock the buggies. I knew what to do, but the first time I did it by myself-it was not too hard to figure out. Kudos for helping the customers like that, especially the elderly ones. We love this store. Its workers are super professionals, the place is always impeccably clean. We go every week and come home with fresh fruits and vegetables, good quality milk, meat, chicken and fish and we never pay more than $ 80. The only criticism is that sometimes they are in too much demand and some items are out of stock, but they are always willing to check their inventory to see if they have more availability. Visited this Aldi last week with my husband and it was absolutely despicable. The manager, Whitney I believe, had a disgusting attitude toward not only the store, but her coworkers and customers like myself. We overheard her making numerous comments slandering the store and regarding her not wanting to be working there. My husband and I were very conflicted because we love Aldi and all that the store has to offer. After visiting yesterday and having a very similar experience, I'm completely appalled. The manager maintained the same unacceptable attitude and through conversations with the workers I learned that they are made to work long shifts, receiving no break whatsoever. I would give zero stars if it were possible and I highly recommend my fellow Aldi lovers to steer clear of this specific location and its unwelcoming management. I love shopping here. The products are great. Some come from Germany. I've gotten cookies and meats and cheeses and frozen products from the German brand and they are the best. All their products have strict standards and I've not been disappointed in anything taste wise or freshness. I did get home with a pack of cookies that were all broken and when I took them back I got the product replaced I git my money back too. That's their guarantee. Check it out. I must say I am impressed with this this store. It is indeed bright and airy, the aisles are wide and the staff were all exceptionally friendly. As mentioned in a previous review have a quarter ready to be able to use the cart and bring your bags and be prepared to pack them yourself. They load everything into another cart and you take it over to a bench they have running the entire length of the front wall where you can pack your items. Now walking in, they have a wonderful selection of fruits and vegetable at really good prices. Two huge portobello caps for $1.79 ....I pay $3.99 else where for those! Most their produce is organic too. They have a wonderful selection of breads and rolls including Racine Wisconsin Kringles which I love and haven't had since we lived in Minnesota. An excellent selection of sausages and cold cuts and cheese....many from Germany. They carry a very good selection of chicken, beef, pork and lamb as well as many frozen items and vegetables etc. Now Aldi mainly carries their own brand....so if are you are wanting familiar brands you see in other stores you won't find them here.... but their own brand of similar product is very good. I live in the area and actually found it quite easy to get too and there is plenty of parking. A number of new stores have opened in this area in the last couple of weeks (Ashley furniture just opened next door) so it a great place to shop now. If you are looking for something a little different with excellent quality and don't mind packing items yourself....give Aldi's a try. read more

Aldi has everything you need although they still need to expand their productions. In spite of this, the prices are really great, very exceptional unlike Walmart. I was able to buy salmons for a very lower price than Walmart, Publix, and Winn Dixie. Their fruits are fresh and it is very spacious than other stores. read more

Very underwhelmed with shopping here. I do like that this part of town finally has a grocery store. However, this store has limited selection and produce prices weren't that great. Checking out was terrible. Out of 6 lanes, only one was lit up but no clerk working. It was at least three minutes before a clerk appeared. Overall, not impressed with this store. read more

I always shopped at Aldi when I lived in Philadelphia so they were truly missed when I moved to Jacksonville. I was so excited when I saw they opened a third store here around the corner from me in the Regency Area. Pro tips: always bring a quarter for the shopping cart. Be prepared to pay for grocery bags if you don't bring your own, or you can use empty boxes provided by the store; and you will be bagging your own groceries at the long counter. The quality and prices of their organic produce alone more than makes up for the cost to purchase bags LOL They have a great selection of Aldi brand products that are just as good, or better than, name brand products. I'm able to get all the groceries I need, including great cuts of steaks, and I'm usually not paying more than $50. read more

Aldi! I frequent here once a week. The prices are good, the produce is great! It's so economical on my budget. I get so much bang for my buck. I always walk out feeling like a got a steal of a deal! The reason the prices are so great is because there's a lot of overhead cost that are cut. So let's get into that: 1. If you plan on going grocery shopping and not picking up an item or 2, bring a bag. Aldi does not have bags (at least not for free) to bag your groceries. When you get to the register, there are bags there, but it will cost. 2. You need a quarter to get a shopping cart, but no worries if you don't have a quarter and only bills you can get change inside. The same applies if you have change and no quarters. You won't find a lot of name brand items inside, but don't let that fool you the quality is just as good, if not better. There's always weekly deals and steals to be on the look out for. Usually inside you'll only find one person working on the register so have patience. Usually if the line gets to be 5 or more they'll open up another register. There is no line for 10 items or less. Also, when you're in the checkout line while the cashier is scanning it's best to start getting your method of payment ready, cause they scan quickly and when they're are done they're ready to move on to the next customer. Don't think they are trying to rush you, the cashiers have to scan so many items per minute and they are pretty efficient at it. All in all ... I love shopping here. If you're looking for quality and great deals shop at Aldi, but have quarters and bring your own bags and get ready to pay soon as the cashier starts scanning! We are big fans of Aldi's grocery. It's a smaller store but they have a lot of things in there that you can use so long as you're not locked in to name brands. We have found that many of their brands are very comparable in taste and quality if not better than the name brands that you buy at the grocery store but the prices are a heck of a lot less. Pay attention to their ad circular as you enter to save big. They continuously have gallons of milk on sale for $1.99 a gallon. You can't beat that. Regularly they have had avocados for $.39 each. This week they have brisket for $1.99 a pound. Great values! Watch for their Specials on things that are normally crazy high at other stores like Artisan Cheeses. They also stock quite a bit of Gluten Free items. Especially frozen items. I like the fact that you don't have to buy humongous quantities like you would at Costco or Sam's Club but still enjoy savings. I suggest you make your grocery list and before you go to the regular grocery stop by Aldi's and see just how many items you can fill out of your grocery list. You may be surprised at the savings. Bring your own bags as they do not provide bags. To get a grocery cart you have to put in a quarter which you would get back when you return the cart. Good idea. They don't have to pay someone to go out running after carts in the parking lot.... and I guess their carts don't get stolen as much. Parking is plentiful in their stores. The stores are very clean and the people are very friendly. I find their stores are stocked better earlier in the day. They move people through their cashier lines very quickly.
