We met Jen the owner who was very sweet, friendly and welcoming. She let us try the daily lemonade flavors which were all quite unique, we all got our lemonades and omg I'm in love with the guava/lemonade topped with blueberries, rosemary and a pasta straw! It was super refreshing! We just moved to the area & it was great learning about the history of the shop and other surrounding facts. I happen to visit their booth at the Jax Arts District Farmers Market in Riverside on Wednesdays and the woman working it is very knowledgeable about the farm and agriculture. The actual farmer wasn't present, but I believe she said that he has been working his farm for over a decade. That's pretty impressive and very progressive especially for the Jacksonville area seeing that I grew up south of Gainesville where most of the bigger farms are located. If there are parts of various livestock you seek and can't normally get at Publix, you'll quite likely find them here. And the produce is fresh and second-to-none. As to people's reviews on Google reviews saying the store is dirty, smelly, and nasty--well, it's a bit run-down but safe. I came here with a friend who is Chamorro and thus very familiar with Asian grocers--he lived in the Philippines, as well. He's just like "yeah, this is the real deal, you can tell, this is where you come to buy liver and leave with fruit that you don't even know what it is". I also needed to buy some organic lemon ginger tea - it seems to always be available at a Sprouts location when I need it! But autumn and winter aren't too far away at this point so it may be good to stay ahead on the purchasing of items like this. In walking around, I found the meats section, both counter and display, in stellar and attractive condition. I do buy meats at Sprouts on occasion from both areas and this one is clean with everything in good order. The vegetables area contains both non-organic and organic offerings. I try to stick with organics when I need them and, more than any other store, Sprouts always seems to have them. The unique thing about Sprouts from my perspective is that is seems to often have specialty items that other stores don't carry, especially in the vitamins section. They often carry neat food brands you won't find at many other places either. I will say things are pricey here no doubt. However, you can help yourself by getting the app and checking for coupons and when they have deals over the course of the year. I've saved some good money here doing that. Service here was good.
