Wawa has certainly expanded its presence throughout Florida and that is certainly good news for Floridians, but for Floridians who relocated here from eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, it was bringing a piece of home down here to the Sunshine State. Wawa is so much more than a simple gas station. Yes, it features a multitude of gas pumps offering competitive prices and I applaud them for offering air for your tires from an air pump that does not require a payment. Should be common sense, but most gas stations have decided that they can generate a few more dollars by charging people to put air in their tires. Wawa goes above and beyond in customer service by letting people get air without a surcharge. But for me and I would hazard a guess that endears Wawa to most of us is the food that they offer, mostly their subs (what they call hoagies due to their original locations). These subs, er, hoagies are freshly made 24/7 and many, myself included, have ended an evening festivities at a Wawa grabbing an end of the night snack in the form of one of their subs, hoagies, or whatever you want to call them. They have both hot and cold sub/hoagie things, as well as other foods like breakfast sandwiches, bagels, bowls, etc. I also have always liked their pretzels, available at the cash registers. Oh, speaking of their food, keep an eye out for Hoagiefest, where they offer any sub st a discounted price. Truly a good deal. So, yes, I recommend Wawa. I would almost climb a mountain to scream its praises for the four winds to carry to the far planets of this world (perhaps even going so far as to reach my home state of New Jersey). Who doesn't love a Wawa? This location is in the heart of the Town Center and was very busy during my visit. The coffee options are endless and the service was fast and friendly. They offered free smoothie samples while I was there and like all Wawa's, a great selection of snacks and pre-made food-to-go. Been wanting to visit Wawa for a while now. One day I stopped inside a few months back but didn't stay long enough to justify crafting a review. But today was different! After completing another superb car was at Scrubbles next door, I went to Wawa to get a coffee beverage. I looked around and was pretty astounded instantly about two things. It was large and very well organized with foodstuffs and other goodies all around a large customer area. Also, for a shop that is a gas station as well, it was about cleanest store/gas station I've ever seen. I know a lot of people like Wawa, so I needed to see what the fuss was all about. I did not buy gas - do that elsewhere - but did visit the coffee area and was greeted by a kind barista named Anita. I began asking her questions about the beverages and she directed me to the ordering pad. I was thankful she helped me out or I would have missed out on a wonderful iced mint mocha iced coffee! I found the service here solid and I'm happy to let the manager at Wawa that Anita went the extra mile for me. There is a large seating area outside that, unfortunately, is closed off right now due to Coronavirus protocols. Hopefully this will be behind us soon so people can relax and enjoy their food and beverages should they choose to do so. For now, I'm pretty happy with Wawa and plan to visit again. Oh! I could not get over the price of gas, it was $.14 a gallon cheaper than going to BJ's wholesale, which is hard to find cheaper gas than BJs. The people in front of me who were getting gas felt they were at a concert and kept their music on so ultra loud you could not hear yourself think. One of them gets out of the car and starts dancing all over the parking lot, almost makes you wonder what kind of drugs she was on. This was a late night run initiated by my boyfriend to get a milkshake. It wasn't close to us but something came over him and made him long for the comforts of Wawa back where he's from. I dunno but since I'm always down for a ride in case adventure happens, I went with him. He was very excited when we got there. He walked me around the store showing me where you can order food and drinks they make in-store such as iced-cappuccinos, milkshakes, smoothies, sandwiches, bowls, wraps, breakfast items, etc. Wow. We both ordered a smoothie, were assigned an order number and waited for that number to be called. From there, you can take the receipt and go pay at the register. It was very busy as it was 6pm, dinner time, but the clerk behind the food prep counter, Jerika, was preparing and processing all the orders amazingly. She was pleasant, friendly and very attentive with all the customers. I don't know if this location is busier than average or just not managed as well as others in the 5 mile radius. Ordering via the app was a much slower experience than the FSCJ Beach Blvd. location for sure. It took about 10 minutes to acknowledge the order was processing where the FSCJ location is normally almost instantaneous. As that location has constant traffic from the college students, they are definitely hustling and apparently operate at a much more efficient pace. While this location is centrally located in close proximity to the Town Center, it is on the left side on the way to work for me. What a nice surprise to discover Wawa stations in Jacksonville! We always stop at them up north and didn't know they had stores this far south. After filling up the car with gas, we went inside to order sandwiches for the road. I love custom ordering my sandwich on the screen and knowing it will be fixed fresh and correct in a few minutes. This is my second time to a Wawa. Let me tell you that the experience was just as good as my previous experience. The staff is helpful, the inside is clean and organized. They have a huge selection of snacks and treats available. And, where else can you order a delicious sandwich made just the way you want it for a very reasonable price? The touchscreens make it easy to order your food too. I definitely feel as though I get my monies worth here. I really enjoy the Freestyle Machines they have. You have so many combinations of drinks to choose from. You can pretty much make endless concoctions! I am from the west coast and we don't have Wawa out there. I never thought I'd give a gas station 5 stars, but Wawa is so much more than your average gas'n'go. First off, the place is kept in tip-top shape. Bright, easy to navigate, organized, and clean. You don't feel claustrophobic or dirty walking into here. That right there puts them ahead of the competition. Then you have their freshly prepared food and drink that's easily ordered with a touch screen menu that's covered in pictures of their offerings. It doesn't get easier than that. The selection is killer as well. A walk-in freezer stocked with all kinds of beers. Even your buddy who only drinks IPA's will find something they like. Then there's the assortment of snacks. If you're on a health kick, you'll find something. If you're craving a sack of jerky and a bag of nuts, they got you. If you want a candy bar that was a childhood favorite, but is now incredibly difficult to find (looking at you Whatchamacallit), good chances that they'll have it. Honestly, you have to be seriously picky or seriously allergic to NOT find something you'll enjoy. Finally, the wonderful staff is the icing on the cake. A recent discovery of mine: all Wawa locations offer free air for your tires! I've always thought it was a ripoff to charge someone a dollar or sometimes more just to pump some air into a tire. An experience to see with my own eyes and I must admit it was pretty cool. I'd heard a few good things about this particular station and all the have to offer, so I decided to come and take a look for myself. I don't live too close to a Wawa's I'm about 20-25 minutes away. Walking in I was able to spot brands I'd never seen around town and decided to try a few. I'll admit my first time in here was like a kids first time at a candy store. I had to catch myself because I just kept picking up stuff. I decided to order a Philly cheesesteak and while it was tasty I would change a few of the topping that I chose. Also I would ask for them not to toast my bread for that long being that it was hard in some places but overall a good hoagie. I also decided to get a jalapeño cheddar pretzel that I was super excited about but expectations were a little too high. Most of the pretzel was hard which was disappointing. I grew up with Wawa up north and was so excited they are in Jax! I'm not by the town center much so today we drove a round trip of 50mins to get my Wawa fix. I got a cheesesteak and a mango peach fruit smoothie. The wait for the food took 20 mins and they didn't even have the smoothie ready. No worries, we showed them the receipt and they made one on the spot. As we drove home the smell of the yummy goodness was killing me. Unfortunately as soon as I opened my cheesesteak it was missing the extras I added, lettuce and tomatoes. Not only did they took a long time to get the order ready, they forgot the extras. If I didn't live 25 mins away I would bring it back and ask for it to be fixed. So my advice would be to make sure to check or order and open to see that everything is correct. Everyone raves about them, so when I moved to the Town Center area and received free coupons, I started visiting them. First off, they are the cleanest convenience stores I have ever visited. I believe they are known for this, and they take it seriously. Second, their customer service is excellent. They are friendly and make sure to look you in the eye and interact with you. So I finally have a morning free to visit Wawa. Another Yelper follower mentioned that he liked Wawa so... I was greeted by several employees upon entering. I looked around at how large the inside was trying to figure out what was what. Basically it is a gas and a fast food plus coffee station rolled into one. I tried the breakfast I'm giving it four stars because everything was clean the employees very accommodating and friendly and they took time to explain things to me. The breakfast sandwich was okay it wasn't Panera but again this was a gas station. I was really interested in the coffee it was okay as well. The neighborhood store of New Jersey has arrived in Jacksonville. If you miss Tastee Cake Pies and other Wawa standards they all arrived here in the store. They still make great hoagies but their system has been extremely upgraded. The sandwiches are worth gong out of your way for them.
