They just let the quality slip so bad. In recent years, Winn-Dixie finally took notice and has taken leaps and bounds to improve their stores. The best move that Winn-Dixie (or rather its parent company, Southeastern Grocers) was by upping the game in their meat department. For a company that once proudly called itself the "Beef People," Winn-Dixie let the quality of its meat slip to dismal levels. Winn-Dixie (or Southeastern Grocers) have finally taken steps to up their game in the meat department and now have an emphasis on quality meat. They are putting an emphasis on their USDA Choice grade again and while they still have the inferior USDA inspected and not graded, the USDA Choice is wonderful and I won't even look at this inferior grade of meat. All in all, Winn-Dixie is again a great supermarket to head towards, especially if you are purchasing beef. I am still not a fan of their chicken, but the beef and pork are great. I will give this location of Winn-Dixie five stars overall.

Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you…read moreexperience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. This particular Publix is located in a decent sized shopping plaza on the southside of Jacksonville, Florida. It has a cool enough ambiance and was enjoyable enough to shop. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities where Publix opens a location are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location for that matter and I give it five stars for a great experience.

This was my stop if I had anything at Town Center to do- I could pop in here and then jump on 295 & Butler and be home in just minutes. The store itself is larger than the one closest to my home and also the one near my work. Town Center kinda makes you want to go big or go home! The store is always neat and clean and employees always friendly and helpful. I found one of my favorite deli food here a few times- something I used to enjoy at my local Publix before I moved to Jax- and potato ball filled with meat! One of the things about Publix is that the departments between stores may offer different items based on store demographics. I used to live in a Cuban populated area and they had several Cuban and Hispanic foods in the bakery and deli. I was so thrilled when I realized this location had some of these specialty items! I would stop by just to hit up their deli!

In general, I was happy with how well-stocked everything was compared to other stores. The staff was friendly and apologetic for the wait. There is a huge parking lot shared by the rest of the shopping center. Note: The only drawback about Dollar Tree is that the only gift cards that are sold here are for Dollar Tree. When you are gift buying and want to add a gift card (that is not Dollar Tree), keep this in mind.

Getting in and out of the parking lot can be dangerous- and be careful while driving in the lot- people don't look and go the wrong way in front of McD's (it's a divided entrance with a median). The store itself is fine, It's almost always busy and they have a hard time keeping up with recovery- BUT they do get product out on the shelves. So- there is product, but it's not well kept. I usually can find what I need here. Some other locations seem to run out of things more often. Cashiers are good- I actually ran in for cards and a "get well" balloon and was so out of it (stressed over my husband in the hospital) that I almost left without my change- and I paid for $2 worth of cards and balloons with a $20- the cashier caught me, and I so appreciate the honesty. I know there are probably cameras on them too- but I know all to well some would just pocket it. This is a 3 star store that won an extra star just with the kindness of the cashier. I needed that little bit of kindness that day.
