The Brooklyn Riverside area is slowing inching its way into my favorite Jacksonville spot. Still a best kept secret as all of the places I have been to in this area don't seem to be frequented and/or discovered by the natives and tourists. Hobnob, my new passion, The Hyppo, Pink Nickel, The Brixx pizza and plenty more are all great places to have left their mark. I will continue to browse and find new places but thus far I have been one happy Jax girl

But overall, this mall has definitely seen better days. While the exterior doesn't necessarily reveal the level of aging, when you get inside the mall you noticed pretty quickly but this mall is likely on it's downturn. There are several closed, or seemingly closed stores, and most of the traffic seems relegated to a couple of the larger department stores like H&M and Belk. A lot of empty kiosks in the middle of the walkway with the rest of them being occupied by local vendors that didn't seem to be getting much business at all. And if teenagers are still headed to malls on Saturday's to hang out, this is clearly not the mall that most of the local teenagers here hang out in as the traffic was surprisingly light for a Saturday - I just realized that may appeal to certain readers of this review. Lol. Anyway, unless you are visiting a specific store in this mall as a destination, I would probably suggest finding one of Jacksonvilles bigger malls for a true mall experience.

I will say that it seems like this mall keeps putting actual vendors in parking spaces. In this particular instance, there was a basketball vendor in that location, which leaves less spaces for customers to park. I'm not a huge fan of this mall. It seems like most of the stores I used to really like no longer exist, which is a bummer.

This mall has been open since 1961 when it opened as an open-air center. In 1968, Roosevelt Square was enclosed to compete with other shopping malls like Regency Square Mall and Gateway. In the late 1990's, parts of the shopping plaza was demolished and remodeled and retrofitted for a new stage of this plaza's existence. All in all, Roosevelt Square is a satisfactory place to head for if you have plans to stop at one of the businesses. While nothing spectacular, it is also not overly terrible. I feel it definitely warrants a middle-of-the-road three stars.

The pavers they put in are uneven and impossible to navigate. It's like off-roading. Less than a month old and they already have huge potholes. They also took out landscaping and put in palm trees that offer no shade. And don't get me started on navigating! There are medians that are too low to see but right in the middle of the driveways. It's impossible to dodge other cars and the parking lot gets so backed up, especially for Chipotle and Chick-fil-a. This place is so poorly planned now the developer should be banned from ever developing again. Such a shame too because the businesses here are pretty good (although loosing Stein Mart was a big bummer.) This place used to be great but has gone downhill since they tried to fancify it.

It is north of Saint Augustine and near Ponte Vedra Beach in the First Coast area and sits on over 13,000 acres. There is new building and developments going on all the time at this time. You do not have to live in Nocatee to take advantage of the stores, businesses and restaurants located here...they are open to everyone. For a list of stores & businesses currently here or coming to Nocatee, please follow this link: https://info.nocatee.com/town-center-directory If you live here or thinking about moving here to Nocatee there is one thing I find to be pretty cool and that is the golf cart usage. A lot of the residents here own golf carts and that is how they get around. Here at the town center there are parking spaces just for the golf carts. You can literally do your grocery shopping and/or just go to dinner in your golf cart. There is a golf course, but you don't have to play golf to partake in cruising around in a golf cart. I like it! But if you are like me and don't live here, then you drive here the old-fashioned way. That said, with the way the area is shaped it is very easy to walk to several different things quite easily and leave your vehicle in the same spot. At this time there seems to be ample parking as well.

I challenge you to take a chance and come to the food court for a Boba Drink from one of the kindest Asian man and his wife that I know(Boba Blends),Sakura and Mandarin Kitchen are Asian owned and the sister owns Sakura and the brother owns Mandarin Kitchen. The First Coast Cookies, I love dearly, Mr. Potato Spread, Funnel Cake Queen, & Island dream are in the food court too! The last three used to be food trucks and now in Brick and mortar. They might still have trucks too, not sure. Come give the mall a chance! Ernie and I enjoy walking in here as well, because it's air conditioned and inside walking is good for us!
