But overall, this mall has definitely seen better days. While the exterior doesn't necessarily reveal the level of aging, when you get inside the mall you noticed pretty quickly but this mall is likely on it's downturn. There are several closed, or seemingly closed stores, and most of the traffic seems relegated to a couple of the larger department stores like H&M and Belk. A lot of empty kiosks in the middle of the walkway with the rest of them being occupied by local vendors that didn't seem to be getting much business at all. And if teenagers are still headed to malls on Saturday's to hang out, this is clearly not the mall that most of the local teenagers here hang out in as the traffic was surprisingly light for a Saturday - I just realized that may appeal to certain readers of this review. Lol. Anyway, unless you are visiting a specific store in this mall as a destination, I would probably suggest finding one of Jacksonvilles bigger malls for a true mall experience.

I will say that it seems like this mall keeps putting actual vendors in parking spaces. In this particular instance, there was a basketball vendor in that location, which leaves less spaces for customers to park. I'm not a huge fan of this mall. It seems like most of the stores I used to really like no longer exist, which is a bummer.

I shop Publix often and eat at various restaurants here- including Tijuana Flats, Deerwood Diner and Open Sushi. Some business have not survived the Covid-19 closures- we lost Snowgenix (which I loved). On the flip side- we gained Rowe's Grocery on the other side of the center. This is one of the more dangerous parking lots I frequent. One way aisles for parking- there are plenty of times I have been facing someone going the wrong way. I have seen numerous people enter the center on the wrong side of the median at the entrance. I have seen plenty of accidents and hit and runs. My near- misses are pretty high myself. You will see people speed through the parking lot and people who are going so slow you could walk past them. Add pedestrians and cyclists- this is easily a recipe for disaster. This shopping center is bigger than it looks and has several ways in and out- there is an access road for the bus system that runs parallel with Southside. The center is situated between Old Baymeadows and Baymeadows- and you can enter in from either road and numerous points. Even with high risk for vehicle damage- this is still one of my most visited shopping centers. Drive safe and watch out for the other guy...

Need your shoes repaired? They got you covered. Hungry? There are multiple places to grab a bite. I seen a Mediterranean restaurant, a Tijuana Flats, and I came here for a Vietnamese restaurant. I am currently still looking for said Vietnamese restaurant as I am beginning this review. It can be a little confusing navigating the strip mall. Hey, I just passed an insurance company. One more service that they were offered. Again, they make good with what they have. I would recommend the shopping mall if you are coming here for a particular business. The parking lot seems relatively safe and well-maintained, there is plenty of parking and there . There are far worse places to go in Jacksonville and beyond

I came in hoping to…read moreresolve an issue involving a bag that was donated without my consent, and instead I encountered one of the most unprofessional and unpleasant interactions I've ever had with store management. The manager on duty, Leslie De La Cruz, was shockingly rude, dismissive, and made absolutely no effort to understand or address my situation. The bag in question wasn't just any item it was a meaningful gift from a cherished friend, and it was donated without my approval. I approached the store calmly, simply looking for a reasonable resolution. Instead of listening or offering even a hint of assistance, Leslie repeatedly shut me down, showed no empathy for my discomfort, and acted as if my concerns were an inconvenience. All I asked for was a basic form of compensation, such as a refund or a gift card equal to the value of the donated bag. This was a fair and respectful request given the circumstances, yet the manager chose to offer nothing not even a sincere apology. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, not only because of the loss of a sentimental item, but because of the unacceptable treatment I received from someone who is supposed to represent the store's values. Customers deserve respect, understanding, and professionalism, none of which were shown to me during this interaction. I truly hope Uptown Cheapskate addresses this issue, because no one should have to go through what I did just to seek a simple and reasonable resolution.
