One of the first businesses to catch our eye was the Insomnia Cookies! Soupa Noodle Bar anchored the Northern end of the plaza and Class UFC Gym is at the South end. In between is an assortment of businesses including Senor Loco Taco, Kazu Sushi Burrito, Niore Nail Bar and Pizza Hut. We were just reading an article about Pizza Hut closing a bunch of locations- I wonder if this one will survive the cut. Because this little plaza was built in a large parking lot in front of the movie theater- there is an abundance of parking. There is some cross cutting traffic because of the location.... I may be guilty of that myself- especially right now with the movie theater closed. This little plaza packs a punch with food- and is a good addition the the Tinseltown area. I will walk in this indoor mall and shop/dine here as long as the doors are open. Yes, I know the mall leaks, all of the anchor stores have left. But, there is the food court, Bath & Body Works are here(usually no lines no waiting). They have the Regency Vitamin Shop, and a few other stores like LensCrafters. I challenge you to take a chance and come to the food court for a Boba Drink from one of the kindest Asian man and his wife that I know(Boba Blends),Sakura and Mandarin Kitchen are Asian owned and the sister owns Sakura and the brother owns Mandarin Kitchen. The First Coast Cookies, I love dearly, Mr. Potato Spread, Funnel Cake Queen, & Island dream are in the food court too! The last three used to be food trucks and now in Brick and mortar. They might still have trucks too, not sure. Come give the mall a chance! Ernie and I enjoy walking in here as well, because it's air conditioned and inside walking is good for us!

But overall, this mall has definitely seen better days. While the exterior doesn't necessarily reveal the level of aging, when you get inside the mall you noticed pretty quickly but this mall is likely on it's downturn. There are several closed, or seemingly closed stores, and most of the traffic seems relegated to a couple of the larger department stores like H&M and Belk. A lot of empty kiosks in the middle of the walkway with the rest of them being occupied by local vendors that didn't seem to be getting much business at all. And if teenagers are still headed to malls on Saturday's to hang out, this is clearly not the mall that most of the local teenagers here hang out in as the traffic was surprisingly light for a Saturday - I just realized that may appeal to certain readers of this review. Lol. Anyway, unless you are visiting a specific store in this mall as a destination, I would probably suggest finding one of Jacksonvilles bigger malls for a true mall experience.

The name comes from it is where five roads intersect. It is a hip enclave that draws an eclectic collection of people. It is a great destination if you are in the Jacksonville, Florida area. I love these cool enclaves that give a city a personality. It has 3 ways in and out of the plaza- the Southern most entrance/exit is a right turn only onto Hodges. The middle entrance/exit allows for both right & left turns inbound and outbound for Hodges. The North entrance/exit allows for both directions onto Sutton Park Dr- you can then access a traffic light to go on Hodges. The Northern exit can get backed up with traffic trying to exit left- especially in the mornings when school is in session. The plaza has a Publix as the anchor store, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Peterbrooke, One Stop Liquor, China Wok, Mac+PC Tech Pro, Butler Animal Clinic, Florida Medical Hearing Center, Massage Green Spa, Hodges Dry Cleaners, Hair Cuttery, Brightway Insurance, Oh La La Nails & Spa, Dentist, Volcano Sushi House & Marco's Pizza. Free standing businesses throughout the plaza include: Starbucks- with a drive thru, Daily's Gas Station, Walgreens, Burger King & Wells Fargo Bank. I frequent Publix & Daily's Gas Station and various other businesses on occasion. There is plenty of parking, it's easy to navigate the parking lot and usually it's easy getting in and out of the plaza. This is my "run errands" shopping center- quick pick up for meals or to tank up.

There were so many jalapenos on it I had to take them off, the guacamole I couldn't even palette because it was so salty I got two tiny banana peppers, extra onion they clearly didn't read that part and not a drop of the deli sauce so just dry. It just was not good. OH did I mention where's the beef? This is the store closest to my job but I think I'm going to have to start getting it the day before at my Normandy store because I never have any complaints. Do better Publix Deli.

We were impressed with the quality of items, the prices and the variety of colors and sizes. We also found the Attendant who was manning the changing rooms area to be very professional and helpful when we were looking for alternate sizes. We frequent Bisciotti's, Josephine, Mojos and Southern Grounds. All 5 star locations for us. No chains here for shopping either. Everything is a privately owned specialty. Vintage, gifts, clothing, and pet boutique. All of them Top Notch. Steady occasions here for festivals and celebrations as well. Just a great place to spend the day with friends or a romantic date. If you haven't spent a day in Avondale, do yourself a favor and check it out. If you're from Jacksonville, you know, but it's one of the hidden gems of Florida.

Panera Bread, Dollar Tree, AT&T, Xfinity, Mattress Firm, Chick-fil-A, Crumbl Cookie is coming soon- oh dear! I popped in yesterday to Target and Sally's Beauty Supply. I have been in numerous stores in the center at least weekly, sometimes more. I have even run work errands for my boss to various stores here. There is an excellent mix of food and shopping and services. There are many more stores in this plaza than I listed! Pop in to discover something new. Oh- and this plaza has plenty of parking, but the Hodges entrance and exit has this section of double speed bumps/humps that is odd. And the outlying strips have some cut throughs and cutoffs that can make it interesting to navigate- be careful, some people whip through those sections. Especially near Chick-fil-a.
