This Publix is located in the Short Pump Crossing Shopping Center in Short Pump, VA. Since I don't live in the area, GPS was quite handy in finding the shopping center and Publix. This visit was on March 25, 2018. Although I live down in Virginia Beach, Publix doesn't exist down there, though I sure hope they come into that area soon like they are going to be in Williamsburg at some point. I'm sure some might wonder why I would go so far to go to Publix. Well, it has to do with prescriptions. My mom has some prescriptions that are free at Publix, but cost much more at pharmacies in the local area. The savings for those free prescriptions are more than the cost of taking a trip this way every three months. While waiting for the prescriptions to be ready, some shopping was in order here. Although we wouldn't get any perishable items on this trip, there were a bunch of other items to be had. Their selection is great. They have a lot of the staples we'd find at the beach, but some varieties of those items aren't in our local stores. Prices on most items are similar to what we would find at home. The store includes a pharmacy, full service deli and deli sandwiches, and Starbucks as well. The service at the pharmacy was great. We had gotten there right around opening, so it was a little busy at the beginning, but the prescriptions were ready in about 15-20 minutes. I also love how they do the lids for prescriptions as well. The lids are reversible. One side is child resistant while the other side is not. You don't have to specifically ask for non child resistant caps like you generally have to do at other pharmacies. Overall, this was a great visit to Publix. Service was great, both at the pharmacy and the rest of the store. The store was immaculately clean, staff were friendly and helpful, and they have a great selection of options. I will definitely be back when it's time refill those free prescriptions. Now we just need them to get down to Virginia Beach.

It's my first time in this new store. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The facility is clean, nice wide aisles and stocked with great items. Produce is fresh, and hot and sushi bar are great. Ayush was our cashier and Sarah was our bagger. Both were very friendly! I would definitely recommend this store to everyone in the area. So if you're around, drop by!!!

This store has more than adequate handicap parking spaces. Much appreciated. There's at least a half dozen or more.

I tried garlic bread with a little bit of a souffi. It's a slightly odd combination, but I would recommend it.

You know you've entered adulthood when your friends tell you that you HAVE to check out a grocery store. I was always told they carry everything and were like a bigger Fresh Market. I've driven past locations around the Greater Richmond area and Charlottesville. Over my winter break for work, I decided to finally check it out. This grocery store is madness, but also incredible. We went on Christmas eve so it was PACKED. It was still a lot of fun. It feels like they have every brand or food item you could possibly think of here. My fiancé and I treated ourselves to some fancy and yummy groceries. My favorite sections of the store were the cheese stations (very organized with so many yummy cheeses to pick from), the mushroom section (almost every variety of mushroom lived here), and the wine section (I finally found Lillet). Like Whole Foods, they do have a food court-like sections. We enjoyed some pizza before we started shopping. There was plenty of parking out front. It's a huge place. If you're looking for a grocery food adventure, this is the place to do it.

I am most impressed by the explosion in nondairy Wegman brand ice cream options this summer, as well as a fully stocked section of other nondairy ice cream products from trusted brands like Ben & Jerry's and Breyer's. That's what prompts my review. Wegmans is often accused of having higher prices than competitors, to which I respond, "What competitors? They are in a league of their own, and they are knocking it out of the park!!" YES: VEGAN FRIENDLY YES: kid friendly

You know that feeling when you stumble into a grocery store and think, "Is this place on legal…read moresteroids?" Well, folks, Wegmans is the real-life Hulk of supermarkets, legal steroids and all! Picture this: it's not just a grocery store; it's practically a food theme park. They've got more restaurants inside than you've had hot meals, and the place is so vast it makes your average mall look like a dollhouse. I mean, they even have a designated "cheese person" who slices and dices cheese like they're starring in a deli-themed action movie. Now, here's the kicker - they have a fish section, and I'm not talking about a few lonely fillets. No, no. They've got entire, whole fish chilling on ice like they're auditioning for an ice-fishing documentary. It's like an aquatic ice kingdom in there, and I was as mesmerized as a kid in a candy store. But with fish. And ice. So, not really like a candy store at all. Here's a fun fact - my boyfriend used to be a Wegmans warrior back in Buffalo, NY. After years of grocery battle, when we finally made the trek from the Bayou to the Spotsylvania, VA location, you bet it was one of our first stops. And it did not disappoint. It's like the homecoming of a warrior returning to the village, if the village had the most epic grocery store ever. Now, about the prices, they might be a tad higher than your average grocery store, but let's be real - you're not just shopping for groceries; you're embarking on an adventure. It's about the experience, the culinary exploration, and the feeling that you've just discovered a treasure trove of foodie delights. So, if you're looking for a grocery store that's more than just a grocery store, Wegmans is your beast on legal steroids. It's a foodie fantasyland, a place of wonder, and the perfect spot for your next epic grocery quest. Suit up and dive in - you won't be disappointed! Oh, and here's a pro tip that's worth its weight in gold - Wegmans is on Instacart. So, if you find yourself in a pinch or need to impress your future in-laws (fingers crossed!), you can hop onto their site from virtually anywhere, even while jetting off in a plane, and order a gift. In less time than it takes for an in-flight movie to finish, you'll have the most humongous plant ever delivered to yours of their doorstep. It's like sending a green, leafy love letter to your loved ones. Wegmans has your back, whether you're roaming their massive aisles or shopping from the clouds!

Additionaly everytime we want Aspargus we have to go to Giant as the ones in this store are ALWAYS standing in dry containers. This makes them woody half way up the stalk. We have complained to management time and time again. Still no change. Go to Giant. Prices are better and food is fresh.

The grocery store was sold years ago, but the prepared foods are still available in various locations around town - including Food Lion! Recently, I visited Richmond to care for a friend while she recovered from surgery. Her comfort food? Ukrops orange salad. She sent me to the local Food Lion to get it. I am not sure why it is called salad, as it is really orange jello with pineapple bits. Yet there it was, nestled amongst the potato salad and egg salad, next to the rotisserie chicken. It was enjoyed that same evening and my patient sank back onto the pillows, the post-surgery pain a little more bearable.

Short but sweet: this location checks the most important boxes, especially he most elusive--customer service. It doesn't have the massive selections of a Wegmann's or Whole Foods or Elwood Thompson's. Nor is it burdened with the pretentiousness or extortionate prices of those stores. This Food Lion outlet near the intersection of Patterson and Lauderdale in westernmost Henrico Country is immaculately clean and organized. It's staff is attentive and helpful--sure signs of strong customer-driven management and an ethos that works. There are at least a half dozen supermarkets nearer to my home. It's because of my experience every time that I drive right past them to buy my groceries here. My highest endorsement.
