Had to come here for a few things my local public didnt have. Store was fine and employees were kinda sparse. It is a large store so that was to be expected. I noticed this store does the normal to trap you up front and make you walk through the entire store. I did notice that twojugsofmilk were expired but not sure who's at fault for that? The baking department smelled good andthe lady there was kinder than my local store. Always enjoy the wine selection when someone hasn't made a huge mess on the floor.

I settled in Florida when I first moved from Australia, and the awesome memories of shopping at Publix and meeting the locals are forever ingrained in me. Not surprisingly, I was absolutely thrilled to see this on our first trip to Richmond, and boy was it a treat! The look and feel that is unique to Publix came straight back and hit me as I walked in the door: the great shiny floors, comfortable lighting that is easy on the eye, regular specials and the familiar signs and tags, clear labels and signs for aisles and departments, a full-on deli that serves mean subs, amazing dining room, and most of all, helpful and friendly service - the people. We hope Publix makes it all the way up to NoVA, but certainly to where we live...welcome to VA, Publix!

What's missing?? Everything!!

Not the Ukrops salad bar....5:30 on a Tuesday evening. Soooo disappointing. If you are craving a salad bar, don't go to this Publix!

Its Just overall the best. Great produce selection and its fresh. The deli is where its at Publix subs are amazing!!! The bakery another favorite of mine. Key lime pie both mango and original. The chicken tender sub is spectacular. This publix has a dining area for the deli and thats so convenient.

I want you to know this is my WEDDING cake! My wedding was Nov 20 at 4pm. I have been talking with this bakery for about 6 months on what kind of cake I wanted for my big day. Please note I have all emails with names attached. After contacting one store about my needs I was transferred to this store only due to the store being closer to my venue for delivery (delivery fee). No biggie. I respoke on what I was looking for (pic 1) Gave wedding colors AND pictures. I even went in the store looked thru the book to ensure what I wanted they could do. After doing our taste testing we picked a 3 layer, 3 flavor wedding cake for our 115 guest. After a while I got a email stating that one of the items that was part of my cakes look ie. the gold drip would be hard to match. Color wise. I understood that but yet was ENSURED they could still achieve the look. The day of my wedding. I got a phone call at 11:59am asking where they should deliver my cake...baffled I told them. This is a popular and highly used venue how/why don't you know where their only reception area is? RED FLAG 1. My cake was to be delivered at 1pm. Wedding at 4pm. Dinner at 645pm. I had my MOH and Bridesmaid to go check the cake. When they returned I immediately knew something wrong! RED FLAG 2. I was shown a pic and instantly I got mad (pic 2) I called the store only to be told the bakery staff was at lunch! I spoke directly to Madison (bakery manager) I ran everything to her on how my cake was to look and how this delivered cake was NOTHING I ordered! All to say I don't see those emails of you speaking to anyone on that. I sent the email where I did. I resent the pic of what I was suppose to have and even sent the email of how tall the cake was suppose to be after me asking. She ensured they would fix the problem. Deliver another cake BY 3! And all would be fine. Mind you it's now 130. 145 and your telling me you can make. Ice. Pack. Drive and delivery a whole 3 layer 3 flavor supposedly 24" cake by 3! Knowing I had to leave and be on the bus by 3 I myself couldn't physically see this new cake once it came. I'm unsure on what time this cake arrived but I was told it was better with no pics to see. Fast forward to reception. Cake cutting time I saw the cake and was mortified! At this point I couldn't change nor contact anyone. The cake delivered looked so rushed and unprofessional! This was my wedding cake (pic 3) I spent almost $1000 with THIS store location. I spoke to them face to face, in store, email and phone and was ensured every time what I wanted could be done. mind you they offered the style I wanted (see pic) they delivered clearly the wrong cake and then redelivered something worse. I should have stuck with a real bakery shop instead of a grocery store shop but after seeing their work thru the holidays and displayed desserts I thought I was in good hands. Please take your money to a real bakery! My one big day cake was ruined!

I have resisted the outcry from family and friends that "Kroger S*cks" for years. But I have to…read moresay that at least at this location, I have about had my fill. Today was typical -- I went in on a Friday midday with 10 items on my list. Kroger was completely out of two of them going into a weekend. I would usually (and have for years) just shrug. But this is getting to be very very common. I always end up having to go to another store to complete my shopping. This week is was a specific cat food they carry and brown sugar. Twice lately it has been all the milk. MILK. ALL THE MILK. Seems like every time we go to this store we have to make time to go to another store to fill in. Last week all the eggnog in the case was curdled and separated. All of it. Clearly a refrigeration problem. But there it sat, available for sale. So back to the stock-outs. It is always something. It has gotten to the point that, if I have to go somewhere else to buy things that Kroger doesn't have, I might as well start there. So it's not just losing the $2.25 on brown sugar, the tipping point will have us shifting our primary shopping to Food Lion. Or Publix. Or Trader Joe's. Or Walmart. Or Wegman's. Or Lidl. Or Aldi. Or Tom Leonard's. Or Ellwood Thompson's. My point is, Kroger is too comfortable telling the customer to "buy it or leave it." It may be the fault of the buyer in Cincinnati under-purchasing, or the store manager for under-ordering, or the profit plan for not hiring enough staff to get stuff off pallets in the back. Doesn't matter to the customer. You're out of it. We moved all our prescriptions away from Kroger pharmacy years ago due to the long lines and stock outs. It may be time to do so for groceries.

It's hard for me to be anything but positive about this location, as this is where I did most of my…read moreshopping prior to moving to Ashland. I do infrequently stop by and do a little shopping when close by, and when I do I'm always checking to see if Mr. Andrew is still there in produce and going strong. He has always been very nice and I want him to know I still appreciate that about him.

Here is what this, or any other Publix in the area, ISN'T…read more It isn't cheaper than Kroger. Or Food Lion. Or any other local grocer. Sorry, the market basket or whatever is used to compare is.... selective. It isn't particularly good in terms of ready to eat food, which is one of the corporation's selling points. A recent visit to the sandwich / hot food / feed me area went something like this: Me -- I'd like a XXX sandwich (from the menu board.) Employee -- oh we don't have that. We've never had that. They don't send us the stuff to make it. It's just on the board. It isn't particularly awe inspiring in terms of its baked goods or other convenience items. The bakery stuff is equal to Kroger, no better. And the salad bar, goddess help me, is seldom stocked up, and the soups are either empty or burned up on the table. So what does Publix have that brings me in? A half-decent staff in the pharmacy. This alone stole about 30% of my food shopping from Kroger, that doesn't G.A.S. about pharma customers. I say "half decen"t only because there is a fair lack of follow up at least at this Publix if a doc's office doesn't call back with a refill or a drug is not in stock (no calls to the customer to tell them to try elsewhere. DRUGS, people. This ain't a bagel. We literary need them to live.) Also, some good BOGO deals on regular stuff. And importantly, very few stock outs on grocery items. They carry, them, they have them. No other local chain is that dependable. But overall the prices are high. So Publix will never get the bulk of our grocery biz.

A sub section, hot food like chicken, Mac, potato's, and etc, a salad bar,and take and go with prepackaged salads and entrees. But a nice lady from the hot food section helped me find something to put it in. The strawberry blueberry salads were only $5 which was a good deal and they were fresh. The chicken tenders were almost $10 per lb. That felt kinda pricey to me. So we got wings because there was a better deal. The staff was friendly and the store was clean and well stocked. My only complaint is some aisles seemed to small for 2 people to pass by with a cart. The water aisle specifically. I literally had to move over so someone could get by. That was kinda weird.
