While this isn't my first choice for a grocery run, it's definitely up there in options. Ate the prices a little pricier? Yes, but there's definitely a wider variety of options to make up for it. There is always at least one lane open operated by a person, so the customer isn't pigeonholed into using a self checkout (if I wanted to avoid people, I would use a delivery service). Even the human run lanes aren't slow though, always relatively fast and friendly. Overall a 4/5* simply because it does cost more to go here versus Kroger. read more

We visited this location for lunch on a Saturday. Parking was fine. The exterior was nice. We were greeted by a friendly associate selling Publix reusable bags. The inside was well lit and things seemed to be stocked and mostly tidy. We visited the salad bar which had terribly browned lettuce and cabbage mix. I asked a nearby associate for help getting fresh lettuce and was directed to the deli. Someone cut in front of me at the deli and the associate ignored it. I asked the associate if it was possible to replace the browned lettuce and he said sure and went to the back. Another associate came over to the bar and I asked if the brown lettuce could be replaced, but at this point, we needed to be on our way so we picked something else to eat, paid, and ate. All of the tables in the seating area were disgusting. On our way out, we checked the bar and the brown lettuce was still present. IMHO, the service level at this store needs to be improved, especially at their prices. read more

Had to come here for a few things my local public didnt have. Store was fine and employees were kinda sparse. It is a large store so that was to be expected. I noticed this store does the normal to trap you up front and make you walk through the entire store. I did notice that twojugsofmilk were expired but not sure who's at fault for that? Loved how meticulous Mariam in the deli was. She was just coming on shift I believe, and thank goodness! She went right in replenishing items and discarding old ones Where as the other 3 employees lacked the same concern. (example, tomatoes had 2 slices in the bin, lettuce was extremely low, 2 leaves of spinach, and old chicken tenders).. Just passing through NC but if I ever stop again hope she's there. I settled in Florida when I first moved from Australia, and the awesome memories of shopping at Publix and meeting the locals are forever ingrained in me. Not surprisingly, I was absolutely thrilled to see this on our first trip to Richmond, and boy was it a treat! The look and feel that is unique to Publix came straight back and hit me as I walked in the door: the great shiny floors, comfortable lighting that is easy on the eye, regular specials and the familiar signs and tags, clear labels and signs for aisles and departments, a full-on deli that serves mean subs, amazing dining room, and most of all, helpful and friendly service - the people. We hope Publix makes it all the way up to NoVA, but certainly to where we live...welcome to VA, Publix! read more

Let's get the niceties out of the way first. I love a good grocery store. A well stocked, easy-to-navigate store will make your life so. much. easier. Plus, Publix's prepared foods are the bomb. The fried chicken is everything and don't get me started with the pub subs! The location of this Publix couldn't be better. There are so many times when I need to go to a grocery store, Target, and Michaels/Bed Bath and Beyond/ Ulta at the same time and BAM. This shopping center truly has it all. I love living nearby! Ok, now for the cons: + Prices: You are not getting a deal by shopping here. In fact, it's kind of highway robbery. When some of the prices caught my attention, I opened up my handy dandy Kroger app to compare. Almost everything was much cheaper there. Most notably was the produce and frozen items. A stouffer's lasagna was $15 at publix and $12 at Kroger. 'Nuff said. Strawberries were $3 at Publix and close to $2 at Kroger. +Selection: It ain't that great. Granted, the store is much smaller. I'll give them that. But, the lack of diversity with products really threw me for a loop. There weren't nearly as many pastas to choose from. Even brands that are pretty well known (Ronzoni Smart Taste) were nowhere to be found. On the other hand, and kind of a plus, was that they did have more items that I would consider to be "specialty". I saw a type of Rao's homemade spaghetti sauce that I'd never seen anywhere else. This happened with quite a few items that I was shopping for. Overall, Publix gets a thumbs down from me. I would only shop here in situations when I needed a few things and the effort to drive out of the way to kroger didn't make sense. read more

I am a big fan of this grocery chain for the following reasons: 1. Keto friendly- they carry tons of keto brands and sugar free ingredients (Rebel Creamery, Egg Thins, G Hughes) 2. Staff is super friendly and always polite. Melvin waited on me the other day and his energy made my shopping experience that much better. 3. Deli/Hot food section is ! Their wings come in a non-breaded version and are soooo good. Try the hot and spicy ones, you'll love 'em. Wednesdays are my fave at the deli because they serve a pepper-crusted beef that is GAAAYYYOOOOOD! Ohhh and the cauli mash they make is on point too. 4. No coupons!! Everything is on sale for EVERYBODY! There are some when you walk in but you won't need them to get savings. Some may not prefer this store, but the produce, meats and seafood always look fresh and that matters to me. I want you to know this is my WEDDING cake! My wedding was Nov 20 at 4pm. I have been talking with this bakery for about 6 months on what kind of cake I wanted for my big day. Please note I have all emails with names attached. After contacting one store about my needs I was transferred to this store only due to the store being closer to my venue for delivery (delivery fee). No biggie. I respoke on what I was looking for (pic 1) Gave wedding colors AND pictures. I even went in the store looked thru the book to ensure what I wanted they could do. After doing our taste testing we picked a 3 layer, 3 flavor wedding cake for our 115 guest. After a while I got a email stating that one of the items that was part of my cakes look ie. the gold drip would be hard to match. Color wise. I understood that but yet was ENSURED they could still achieve the look. The day of my wedding. I got a phone call at 11:59am asking where they should deliver my cake...baffled I told them. This is a popular and highly used venue how/why don't you know where their only reception area is? RED FLAG 1. My cake was to be delivered at 1pm. Wedding at 4pm. Dinner at 645pm. I had my MOH and Bridesmaid to go check the cake. When they returned I immediately knew something wrong! RED FLAG 2. I was shown a pic and instantly I got mad (pic 2) I called the store only to be told the bakery staff was at lunch! I spoke directly to Madison (bakery manager) I ran everything to her on how my cake was to look and how this delivered cake was NOTHING I ordered! All to say I don't see those emails of you speaking to anyone on that. I sent the email where I did. I resent the pic of what I was suppose to have and even sent the email of how tall the cake was suppose to be after me asking. She ensured they would fix the problem. Deliver another cake BY 3! And all would be fine. Mind you it's now 130. 145 and your telling me you can make. Ice. Pack. Drive and delivery a whole 3 layer 3 flavor supposedly 24" cake by 3! Knowing I had to leave and be on the bus by 3 I myself couldn't physically see this new cake once it came. I'm unsure on what time this cake arrived but I was told it was better with no pics to see. Fast forward to reception. Cake cutting time I saw the cake and was mortified! At this point I couldn't change nor contact anyone. The cake delivered looked so rushed and unprofessional! This was my wedding cake (pic 3) I spent almost $1000 with THIS store location. I spoke to them face to face, in store, email and phone and was ensured every time what I wanted could be done. mind you they offered the style I wanted (see pic) they delivered clearly the wrong cake and then redelivered something worse. I should have stuck with a real bakery shop instead of a grocery store shop but after seeing their work thru the holidays and displayed desserts I thought I was in good hands. Absolutely livid with the service I got for my sons first birthday! The cake was done an hour later than it was supposed to be and this is what I got as a result. Also the taste was awful the cake was extremely dry and you could taste sugar grains in the icing. I have been a publix customer my entire life and have always gotten our cakes from publix this is ABSOLUTELY NOT up to publix standards. The staff at Publix is always kind, caring and super attentive. I love being able to stroll into Publix on my lunch break and grab a nice hot meal that suits all my dietary needs. My only complaint is the Chinese hot lunch buffet is always very picked over and sparse everytime I come in to check it out. I am hoping the next time I come by that will not be the case. read more

The employees in this location were extremely helpful and friendly! It was almost as if they went out of their way to do so! I have visited before a year ago and the experience was the same. I like this location. Their seafood and fresh meat department is very clean and bright. IMO the bakery is okay. A bit limited in what they offer. The hot deli was a bit disappointing because the food appeared old and dried out. We did they their fresh chicken tenders. They were tasty and had just been replenished. Never again for a quick purchase of beer!!! I go in, pick a 6 pack of Stella's and it wasn't in their system and I couldn't purchase. No big deal. I said I will just go pick something else. Come back to the self checkout lanes and their is a manager there waiting and said 'they have to refuse the sale.' I said excuse me, why is that? She had quietly told me the same 3 times like she didn't agree. Then she said it was because the lady watching the lanes I guess 'didn't feel comfortable. I ask again so what does that even mean? I love Publix for the great service and variety. It's a little pricey but you get the quality you pay for. We also use their bakery for ordering birthday cakes and have only ever had wonderful experiences: their cakes are DELICIOUS. Everyone always asks where we get them from! I used to like Publix. However in an apparent attempt to make the world a better place by altering the supply side, they've greatly reduced the shelf space for dairy milk and are always out. If I have to go to Food Lion for milk any, I may as well go there for everything. Please see how supply side reduction of oil and gas have affected Europe. read more

New Publix open in Village shopping center, Patterson and Three Chop Road. It was okay but layout was a bit strange as the flow wasn't very good. Their "feng shui " is off as to getting what you need. They have a small produce section and bakery is hidden away at the far end of the building. If you dine in with cook store goods or a sandwich, the sitting area is on the opposite side or up stairs on the second floor. Either way I am just glad that a grocery store is finally open to take the void of not having a store in the area. read more

I lived in Florida for roughly 30 years and shopped at Publix. I have always loved Publix for their fresh meats and produce. I was so happy when Publix arrived in Richmond. I still love Publix with one exception: their produce isn't that fresh and it seems that things are sitting on the shelf too long. You have to be careful and inspect everything. The manager in Short pump tried to tell me that grayish hamburger was ok to eat so I told him to eat it and give me a refund. Disappointing! I hope they get it together soon, I've been shopping at Whole Foods and Wegmans. read more

Especially with fruit and produce. $10 worth of chicken breast for $20? I live less than a block away from this store and Im still making the 20 min trek to Wegmans.
