This is my first trip to Wegmans after moving to Fredericksburg. It's five stars for how attractive the store looks when you walk inside of it. But it's as pricey as Whole Foods and Whole Foods is overpriced. I wish Trader Joe's was closer because their pricing is much better in the food quality is really good. There are store employees everywhere and they are all very helpful. I'm a retired disabled, senior citizen, so I'm on a very limited income. Very stressful and semi-traumatic time going there especially for a young adult with disabilities. I was getting groceries, and then my card wasn't working. I recently changed my pin and I accidentally forgot it so I pressed skipped on the machine for the pin. It didn't work at first because I didn't have enough money in the card, so more money was transferred so I definitely had enough money and I could use the system if they just reset it. Unfortunately, unlike workers before, they didn't reset the check out system so I could just skip the pin and be able to buy my groceries. And I couldn't change my PIN number due to my bank's app not working properly. Instead, the lady erased my transaction and just forced me into customer service very awkwardly and in just a hurried demeanor. I felt really uncomfortable because I didn't realized I would be shooed away from buying groceries. In the end, I couldn't buy my groceries and left with just feeling incredibly disappointed at the whole surprising ordeal I went through (that, the rushing around, the time spent looking, and the being overwhelmed by way too many people) just not to get any groceries. They accept Apple Pay so I could have just put my debit card on my phone I just realized but not sure if I would have needed the 4 digit pin. I'm also frustrated about how bad inflation is there as well. I was just buying arugula, Caesar dressing, tomatoes, paper plates, milk, shampoo and conditioner, strawberries, and a to go smoothie, and it was like 50 dollars. I could probably start my own garden and farm for less. This whole experience makes me just want to look for a different store to buy groceries or just not regularly buy them at all and grow a garden instead. read more

Excellent customer service. I managed to find 80% of my order throughout the store but was stumped in aisle 1C. A kind woman restocking that section asked if I needed help. I showed her my list with the two missing items. One I had overlooked a few times. The last was not in aisle 1C, but was in an end cap across from 1C. It's like a town inside a superstore! Well staffed, well stocked, very clean and organized (amidst all the chaos) I'm impressed at the variety available. From the seafood/meat/bakery/cheese/Deli/sushi/beer shop counters, to the coffee shop complete with chairs and tables to sit at, the flower "market", appliances, and international foods... they've got it all covered! The sushi party platter we ordered for our children's birthday extravaganza this month was PERFECTION. Sushi chef James worked with me to custom-design a 100% vegan wheel, enough to feed everyone on our guest list. I put in my ordered a week in advance cuz this was a 96 piece platter and I wanted them to have everything on hand. The morning of the party I was delighted to find the sushi platter ready in a timely manner and looking incredible with a tasteful box of accompanying sides: ginger, wasabi, little bottle of special soy sauce, and plenty of chopsticks. What a great store. We have travelled to Virginia for the past two years to visit God Children. Discovered Wegmans as a source for hotel food and snacks. For years have a cook off with the us the Papas and the older God children. The children have numerous food allergies and Wegmans is a store that allowed us to find the ingredients to do fun stuff like a chili cook off. This store and the one we visited last year in Alexandria are very clean. Well laid out. Enjoyed that ideas that go into the store. Example in the produce section a display of all the items you would need to make guacamole in on stop. Chips included. Choices galore of ready made food. As mentioned overwhelming choices of special dietary restriction foods. God sons loved the train that travels on a suspended track in the store. Prices seemed reasonable. We are visiting from California. We have a great store here in Northern California called Nugget Markets. One of the top one hundred companies to work for. I believe Wegmans may just have them beat for selection and service. read more

It's amazes me that this store that I love before - wants you to bring your own bag, use selfcheck out , bag your own and make you pay 5 cents for paper bags if you run out of your own reusable bags , however everything in the store are all covered with plastic. We stayed at a nearby hotel, so we had a good excuse to visit the store everyday to get lunches. This store is huge! I never saw Wegmans in NY, but after coming back from Fredericksburg Hubby told me that Wegmans is opening in Brooklyn soon. Wow! What a coincidence. We'll definitely go! This supermarket has everything. We went to the food section, of course, to get food for lunch. There's Asian section, Italian section, sushi section, pizza section, sandwich section, you name it, they have it! One thing I can assure you is that their sandwiches and soup sections are probably the best. I didn't get to explore the entire floor because the supermarket is too big. I adore this Wegmans. If I'm sad it brightens my day. If I'm overwhelmed, it's a calming experience. I could go on but it's just a grocery store right? WRONG! Wegmans is a grocery store on steroids. It's a perfect ten. It is a feast for the eyes. The only thing they don't have is applegate turkey pepperoni. I can shop here and get everything I need. There is a separate catering section where you can arrange for your special event. Wine shop. Fresh tortilla stand, fresh bagel shop and an Extensive seafood department, bakery, deli and restaurant. If you don't like cooking there are several hot bars and made to go ( heat and eat specialty items). This location boasts a 1st and 2nd level lounge that is massive and beautiful. There are microwaves, sinks, paper plates, complimentary water. Etc. I saw a children's area for the littles to have their "me" time and watch children's programs or talk, play. I conspire to get to Wegmans often. The employees I've met are helpful and extremely friendly. This place can literally make you broke. In a good way. read more

This popped up on one of my recommended places and I remember coming here about 3 years ago and it left an impression on me that I just had to come give it a review! I'm from the northern VA area so I had never actually been to a Wegmans before but I came here with a friend. This location is so big and has so many different options it's hard to contain yourself from picking up cool and yummy looking items. Their bakery has all sorts of delicious desserts from cookies, bagels, muffins, cakes and more! Variety within those options as well, they also have a lot of different wines to choose from if you're looking to pick up something for a decent price with good flavor. I would definitely come here again if I were to be staying in Fxburg for a bit and needed groceries. read more

I like the store but the self checkout is the worst I have had to deal with. It is horrible waste of your time, very frustrating. It constantly tells you to put items you have scanned in the bag. then it pops up a flash screen and tells you to remove the unscanned item from the bag. employees are responsive and clear the flash screen. They obviously know it is a software issue, but when it happens 10 or 15 times while checking out it destroys the shopping experience! read more

Stopped in for a few essentials and lunch. There is no limit to the amount of people that can shop and people were not social distancing at all! Everyone had a mask but the entire time there were shoppers right on top of me or passing right next to me. Got a medium deli sandwich for seven dollars. They are pricey but usually very tasty. Today, there were cuts of salami that were like cardboard. The quality of ingredients has gone down. I will not be getting one again. One star for the sandwich. read more

We ordered lunch for delivery, two sub sandwiches and a salad, and they arrived in time for our meal. Opening the bag, we found that no napkins were included with the sandwiches. Obviously an oversight. Oh no, they have a policy of not giving out napkins with a delivered meal. And trying to get to a manager to discuss this was like trying to find a responsive employee at the social security administration. Wow, after being a really loyal customer (I don't have a car so I get groceries delivered nearly daily), I ordered some stuff I need for my specialized diet. Wegman's is expensive but has a good selection. Today the driver left a picture of my groceries sitting on some random patio. The thing is, I don't have a patio. I looked at all the patios near my apartment and it was none of those. I went to their help page after the driver didn't get back to me. They said they couldn't get in touch with the driver. They said redelivery (all I wanted) was unavailable (What?). So I could get a credit on my account or a refund that would take to 5-10 days. I won't use them again so I took the refund, but I told them they are making interest off of keeping a shut-in's money and denying me the use of my own money (I am retired, not swimming in cash), and that they should do something more. They the supervisor was busy, but I could call the supervisor at some number. If he was busy, why would I expect him to answer the phone? So I gave them my number and said, you are the screw-ups, you need to be the ones reaching out. If they call me and make me happy I will update this review, but if you are seeing this after April 26, 2023, then you know I haven't gotten a call. read more

I tend to normally get a sandwich from their deli or menu items from their hot bar. Their seafood section is phenomenal with crab cakes ready to be broiled or fried!!! They offer several types of soups and different types of wings. They also have a great selection for their salad bar. If you like pizza they also have a place where you can order your pizza. They have a huge section for you to sit and enjoy your meal making this a great lunch 94 dinner spot. While your there also pick up one of their prepared meals or meal ready to be cooked when you get home. I always find really interesting things that I'm not looking for, and end up buying way more than I went in looking for. Often I don't get what I really need and I'm in there for such a long time as I search. Phenomenal customer service! I was looking for a place in Fredericksburg where I could order a fruit basket. I called about 4 different places but no one seemed to have anything last minute. Luckily I came across wegmans. I called them and they said they would have no problem putting it together before 5pm. They called me to make sure the variety of fruit that was going to be added to the basket was okay with me. They also asked me what color bow I wanted on top. When the basket was ready, someone called me and said it was ready for pick up and would be at customer service under my name. When visiting family, I take them to Wegman's. When anywhere within 30mins of one, I get inordinately excited. It's a beautiful experience, the food bar is giant, the selection is huge, the dining in experience is restaurant grade, the produce is beautiful, the labeling is thorough & accurate, the organics are affordable, the prices are great, they accept Apple Pay/Android Pay/contactless/card/check/everything, their cleansiness is supreme in all depts, their selection is massive (flowers, household goods, stationery, Family/Club Size items, catering, you name it), their locations are so convenient, the layout is self-explanatory, the the love is real, and the employees are happy (that matters in the food you get). Where to begin? First off, this store is the epitome of elitism. And it is absolutely the store of choice for liberal elitists. I went to this store once to see what all the hype was about. I left there paying too much for stuff I didn't need and nothing I really wanted. To make matters worse, the little b*tch at the cash register refused to sign me up for their card so I was made to pay like $20 for a bag of apples. I'm properly Mexican and cook very good authentic Mexican food. But I just had an epiphany: this place is absolutely elitist and possibly racist because I can't find ANYTHING I need to make decent Mexican food. Everything is either European, Jewish, Exotic or vegan, all of which says elitism. Sure, when I'm looking for rare stuff that I don't eat frequently (like stuffed grapes, or Iberian ham and cheese or Japanese mushrooms or Kosher wine) I can find it there. But try cooking real Mexican food from what Wegman's sells and you might as well be eating Taco Bell. As it is, just to get the diversity I want I buy the superior brand items at Wegmans and do another shop a Giant to get the name brand products I want.
