This Walmart was pretty busy. They had several lines open which was good. They had a decent selection of cute clothing in the women's section. I really like the camisoles that are $2.98 and they normally have them during all seasons. You can't beat that price. The kids section was well stocked and had some really cute outfits. I also liked the options they had for cat food. I tried several types but my boogie spoiled cat side eyed me still because it didn't satisfy his exquisite taste buds. Lol. They have 3 dressing rooms. You do have to find a associate for them to let you in. There was a bit of a wait to get in, but not to bad. I asked an associate in the women's section for help but she told me to find help. I had to laugh, because ma'am I thought you were the help. Tracking down help in there was like looking for your boyfriend or girlfriend that's on the late night creep. Where are they?? Lol. Everyone I asked for assistance didn't work in that department. I gave up and just figured it out myself. The checkout lines moved pretty quickly. Whereas other Walmarts I've been in you can stand in line for 15 minutes until your ankles break down and give up on you!! So I appreciated that. ​Avoid this place if you value being treated with basic respect. I was profiled by security for wearing a hoodie and "wandering" (which most people call shopping). Even after I proved I hadn't done anything wrong, the guard became verbally abusive and aggressive toward me. Truly pathetic customer service and a total lack of accountability. read more

The knife display case has been neglected for over a year--never stocked, never staffed. New inventory is literally sitting behind the case, visible only through a mirrored back, yet completely inaccessible. I've bought knives at other Walmart locations without issue, but Short Pump can't be bothered. This is just one example of the store's overall disorganization and lack of customer service. read more

I like this Walmart, I came in here to get some lunch. I am obsessed with their ranch wings and it's located 5 minutes from my work. The lady at the hot food counter was absolutely the sweetest. The wings were hot and fresh, she even give me an extra one. read more

We ordered groceries online for delivery from the Short Pump store. Out of 27 items, 9 were missing when it was delivered, but we were still charged. It was extremely difficult to get through to someone in the Curbside/Delivery department at the store. We finally gave up and requested a refund online, which was processed very timely. We just moved to this area, we won't be ordering from this store again based on this experience. read more

This place has gone downhill in the worst way. On the surface it's nice and shiny and renovated, but the employees are absolutely 100% unhelpful in any way shape or form. They lock paint away behind glass doors and then they expect me to walk all the way to the other side of the store to try to convince the customer service desk that I deserve to get access to it. I was shoved into the self service check out by a couple of employees in the register area, then when the self service check out returned a bunch of errors, I got back in line to try to get to a human being at a register. The same employees still tried to make me go to the self service check out and when I insisted that I needed a human run register, I was looked at like I was putting them out somehow. Probably one of my worst Walmart experiences in recent memory. I will try and avoid this place in the future unless I have no other choice read more

Staff that could be opening a register instead of being congregated up front talking and laughing for over 20 minutes. Only three registers are open with more than 10 people with carts full of groceries in each line. read more

I'm sorry to read poor reviews, but part of the problem may be timing. They are extremely busy on weekends and before holidays which gives a very different impression from shopping experience if you are able to go during the week. I don't even know why I stepped foot in Walmart today, but the experience was just as terrible as I remembered. I am a Target girl through and through, but when a popular YouTube guru put out a hair care line that is being sold in Walmart, I decided to stop in to see if they had it in stock. From start to finish, my experience was a mess. The store is ginormous, tough to navigate, not adequately signed, and messy. An employee in electronics with dreads, Ziggy, was extremely disrespectful and needlessly accusatory when I was shopping earlier this week. No apology when I showed him my reusable WALMART tote bag. I don't know what they expect customers to use when as they don't offer hand baskets whatsoever...only carts. I'm giving up on Walmart. First there was the unbelievable saga that resulted from ordering groceries from curbside pickup, which involved a bag of rotten green beans, and the hours of quibbling trouble they caused in order to get a refund. Today, I made the mistake of giving them another chance. I went inside, instead of curbside pickup, and witnessed the very best of third world shopping Richmond has to offer. Sloppy shelves and layouts bordering on abandoned property. It all reminds me of a homeless shelter. How about making some effort? You know Walmart is a huge, rich corporation. They can do better. To top it all off, the item I needed was out of stock. So, idiot that I am, I went to another Walmart looking for the missing item. I got everything I needed, checked out my own purchases, and did not charge them for my time totaling and bagging my purchases. Of all the super centers in the area, Walmart has the best prices. But be prepared to wait in long lines during the day and even if you go late night, when the store's relatively empty, SUPRISE!!! Chances are, there will only be two registers open and there will be a long line as well. The only way to beat the line is to do self check out. I only went because I was a tag-along with friends looking for late night supplies but man do I regret it. Honestly, this is another typical Wal-mart. Overcrowded aisles and some low prices. However, at the location then what I have experienced within other locations is the non availablity of the workers. I had to walk around for a few moments beforw being able to find a Wal-Mart employee to ask a simple question to. I was on the phone waiting to get a hold of an electrics associate: while the audio voice keeps saying over and over again 'I'm looking for an associate to assist you.' No one ever assisted me. I was trying to figure out if my order ever got done since I never received an email: even though it was supposed to be done hours ago. Walmart in Glen Allen store employee Anita at self checkout was violent to customers. We self scanned two items but need to cancel one. Though it was not crowded, no one came to help us. We waited for at least 5 minutes, then decided to put one item back to shelf and self checkout another item. Before we were able to checkout (we were at the checkout area), Anita came to us to accuse us did not complete the checkout at the other location (where we could not receive any help in checkout). She tried to grab our item aggressively and also forced us to give the item to her. As a customer, I was very confused as why she acted so aggressively for NO reason! Since then, we talked to the manager who promised to talk to Anita about the right way to treat customers. I really hope they will have the conversation but I have no confidence they will. Anita's behavior was awful!!! I have never met any store clerk behaved so badly anywhere else. I was insulted by a manager by the name of Mina (he would not give me a last name and was not wearing a name tag). Three of the four self checkouts were closed. My wife and I waited in line for our turn at the self checkout (the other people in front of us completed their transactions just fine). We then started using the self checkout. After scanning a few items, one item seemed to not register and the "wait for attendant" screen popped up. There was no attendant nearby, so I went for assistance. A worker sent a manager (Mina) over. He said that the self checkout was closed. I replied that the green light was on and that others had checked out just before me. He said that I was wrong and that it was closed. I then showed him that the screen already had all my items scanned. I also showed him that all the "closed" registers had big red screens and red lights. This self checkout had a working screen and a green light. He did not apologize and seemed disgusted that I was "bothering" him. I asked him why he would treat a customer the way that he did. Why would he not just fix the problem? Obviously another worker forgot to shut down the self checkout. But why would that mean that the customer would be treated with contempt and disrespect? He was downright rude, looked away while I was trying to explain myself and basically treated me like dirt! And get this - I asked if he was a manager (just to double check). He said yes - he is a manager in "customer service." This so called manager really needs to be retrained on how to treat customers with respect. Some "customer service." read more

Including a aupervisory...spent 15 minutes just waiting for them to give me a reciept...which I still didn't get because they couldn't find it in the system. I think I speak dor all when i say Walmart is always busy. I went yesterday to get groceries dor the week.. There are so many families blocking aisles, and holding up lines. Is it ncessary for your entire family to come with you shopping??? 4 kids standing in the aisle blocking and not realizing the right side rule when pushing the cart.. Just annoying.
