This Wawa is wedged between the clogged arteries of I-64 and Broad Street on Staples Mill Road. As such, it's always busy too. The parking lot is on the smaller side and also kind of awkward. Spaces are on both sides of the building, with two entrances. You can either leave by the backed up light or try to make a left closer to 64, which seems dangerous. Point being: Have some patience if you visit this store. Otherwise, it's like most other Wawas...and a bit of home for this Jersey girl living in the South. Good sandwiches, grab-and-go drinks and snacks, and a decently clean public restroom. It's not a huge set up, but it's easy to navigate and check out is a breeze. read more

I have to give this a low rating because it grossed me out. The lady making my salad was out of this or that and chicken not ready etc. Every time she came to say something or ask a question, she pinched her mask from the nose area and pulled it from her mouth as if she needed to do that in order for me to hear her. Maam, what's the point of wearing a mask and gloves if you're going to continuously grab your mask with your gloves at the very area on your mask that you are breathing and talking into, and then turn around, and touch my cold salad (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc) with the same fingers you just grabbed the germ filled area of your mask with? Geez. Come on man. Think! I can hear you just fine through the mask. If I couldn't, at least let me tell you I can't hear you unless you pull your mask by the nose part. I would rather you write down what you have to say instead of keep pulling the nose part of your mask then handling my salad. read more

This place has the best milkshake ever: the pumpkin cheesecake milkshake, in particular is to die for. No regrets.

Food is almost always great and service fast. The bathrooms are prone to running out of toiletries and they seem to rarely stock hand sanitizer around the store. We still go back, I just always tell my family, "we are going to Wawa, did everone use the potty." It makes us laugh. read more

This store has really gone downhill. It is very dirty, the sandwiches are thrush together. The last time I went on there were no large cups for fountain drinks and machine wasn't working either. Only water was available, there were lids and straw wrappers everywhere on the counter and floor. It is very disappointing to see the way this store has ended up, and it's probably the last time I will come here. read more

Recently, I have had multiple bad experiences at this Wawa. I usually go there after work later in the night and my order is usually right, but the last three times I've been there it has been wrong. It's very frustrating ordering something and getting home and realizing they have either gotten your order wrong, forgot something, or barely put anything on your sub or in the bowl that you ordered. I'm done going here and it's really stupid that this is a continuous thing that just never gets resolved or changed. I wish there was some sort of new management or practices that would actually do something and resolve this, but as I've seen so far that will never happen. The staff at this location are amazing, kind, thoughtful and very hard workers that are phenomenal in the customer service department. I go in the 5am hour of the morning and they are always smiling, pleasant and helpful. I really like this location and the people that work there. Keep up the great work everyone! read more

I'm a Wawa girl! I LOVE their food and coffee! Their gas pieces aren't bad either. This new Staples Mill Wawa is the best. I love the way they make my sandwiches. The food is very consistent and tastes fresh. The staff and management are friendly and very hard working. I love this place so much I drive from Church Hill just to grab a coffee when I'm craving an Iced Latte. And this is a frequent trip! Even though it's winter, I still need my iced coffee. :) I know Wawa is a gas station, but it's really so much more. This is not gas station food y'all! read more

Always fully stocked, ridiculous amount of employees getting things done quickly, everyone is friendly. The only issue with this place is really a symptom of their success. Is that parking and/or finding a pump is hard most times I've been there and it's rough to drive around with all the commotion of people coming and going. Check it out it's a nice place! read more

When I moved to Blacksburg to go to college 8 years ago (omg has it been that long!?), one of the first things I wondered was what in the world was I going to do without a Wawa?! Wawa is more than a gas station. It's an institution. The food is bomb, gas prices are great, the coffee (especially the extra caffeine turbo boost or whatever it's called) is amazeballs, and even their grab and go selections are quite good. When I worked in Innsbrook, I regularly went to that Wawa location and got the grab and go chicken salad sandwich for lunch. I recently discovered the mango smoothie and it's truly life changing. The only thing that would make Wawa better is if they had a drive thru. Can you imagine? read more

I never really write reviews but the customer service here is really good. Whoever the night shift manager is after like 11pm was great. I ordered a drink that I just couldn't take more than 3 sips of. Way too sweet and way too thick from so much syrup, I guess they added too much cause it was seriously overwhelming. I took it back and the manager offered me a refund and another drink on them. The new drink was perfect. Thank you so much. I love Wawa. read more

Sammiches are amazing. Typically though I'm stumbling in here in a PMS-induced haze, no makeup, hair askew, in yoga pants covered in dog hair, purchasing an embarrassing number of peanut butter cups. The employees never look at me with a hint of judgment, which I appreciate. Mac and cheese is amazing. Also, props to the girl who actually knows what "extra oil and vinegar" mean. Drippy. I have gone to this wawa on many occasions for gas or beverages or bagels. Now for the back story: I've ordered the same thing on numerous occasions without incident. This morning I went to wawa on Staple Mills Richmond and ordered a cranberry bagel twice toasted with butter and cream cheese. What I got was a rock hard bagel with a dollop of cream cheese. I took it back and the shift manager who was suddenly in a great hurry with one person in front of her said "if you want toasted that's the way it comes out and I can't put butter and cream cheese on it at the same time. I don't have time someone else will have to fix it for you." Now I've ordered this same meal more times than I can count....no problems till now. I had to give my own solution and suggest that they toast it and put butter on it with the cheese on the side. Fresh food manager comes over fixed it no bag sends me on my way bagle in paper cream cheese in cup. This, in my opinion was a small issue that only warranted a simple "I'm sorry about that, let me remake it......thank you for your patience, have a nice day". Since there are many other places where I can spend my few dollars to get what I want, without the nasty attitude, I think I'll patronize those places and skip going to this one. read more
