Scathing Review I…read morehave been coming to this gas station regularly, but after my experience this morning, I will not be returning. The disrespect started the second I walked up to the register. I was greeted with an incredibly nasty, dismissive "What do you want?" rather than even the most basic courtesy you would expect from someone working with customers. I asked to purchase a vape and presented my ID. She refused the sale, which is her right if she believed there was a legitimate reason. What was NOT acceptable was that she wouldn't even properly look at my ID or explain what the issue was. When I asked to speak to a manager, she claimed that she was the manager. I told her that if she was refusing me service and believed she had a legitimate reason for doing so, she could go ahead and call the police so the situation could be addressed. She refused to do that as well. At that point, I was left standing there being refused service with absolutely no reasonable explanation, while the person claiming to be the manager wouldn't properly examine my identification, wouldn't provide a legitimate explanation for refusing the transaction, and wouldn't call anyone when I asked her to. And to the specific cashier who refused to sell me the vape: I drove five minutes down the road to the next gas station, and I didn't even have to present my ID to purchase the exact same thing. So whatever point you thought you were making this morning, all you accomplished was losing a regular customer. I have no problem being told "no" when there is a legitimate reason. What I have a problem with is being treated disrespectfully from the moment I approach the register, having my ID dismissed without even being properly examined, being given no explanation, and then being told you're the manager when I ask to speak to someone in charge. I sincerely hope whoever actually owns or manages this location looks into how customers are being treated when they're not around. Because if this is how employees are representing the business, they have a much bigger customer-service problem than they realize.

First he curtly asked us to move our car... dude, it's broken down, we had to push it in the parking lot. While there I bought lunch... chips and Carolina bbq sandwich with slaw. There was a big ole crockpot with that bbq that smelled some kind of good! For $6, it was a pretty sweet deal. But, while it was tasty, it was watery and soaked the bun. Then we asked to use the facilities, he wouldn't let us even though we bought hot food here. He said he'd get fined... what? Who in this little roadside country store is going to fine him? Considering our circumstances, and the fact that we gave him business, he could have been more compassionate and neighborly and he could have let us do our business. Lol!! There are many places near here, so he gets the monopoly on gas and snacks, but if I were you, I'd try to get to Goochland!

The Short Pump location is busy but it's staffed and managed well. I've found the staff friendly/ personable and on the ball. I've never had to wait very long to receive my food order or long in line to pay, and they get food orders made right. The food options here are awesome- breakfast, hoagie sandwiches, and interestingly coffee options are my go-too. Sandwiches rival other sub places easily and Wawa is actually my preferred. Food is made to order and never skimpy on the amount. Prices are the cheapest that I have found for similar food anywhere else. Wawa has rewards that give free meals. Points rack up rather quickly. I order from the app and it's easy to use and automatically gives you the points. Best value for the money in my opinion and for better quality food.

I'm so glad we have a Buc-ee's in VA! i'm going to have to start another savings account just so i can buy more stuff. i bought way too much from here. the food, snacks, candy, bakery, desserts, drinks, etc. are all on point. prices are incredibly reasonable. employees are amazing, they do such a great job working as a team and keeping this huge place clean, organized, and moving smoothly. the restrooms are great too, spacious and clean with plenty of toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels. Knew that we were going to stop at Buc-ee's, bc of course. They have a basket of bananas, and I picked a pristine one if not *slightly* green at the neck. Check out. $0.55. We walked 45 feet out the adjacent exit and ate the banana right outside the slider door so I didn't have to have an empty banana peel stuffed somewhere in the car for the next several hours. It was black to the core on the inside halfway down the banana, like the kind of black you don't keep eating, not just a surface bruise. Since it was clearly bad and it was ONE MINUTE after I bought the banana, I figured they'd be like - no problem, we'll make it right, it's a $0.55 banana. So we walked right back to the same cashier who had sold us that single banana one minute prior and showed him the black banana and asked if I could just get a replacement banana and he said it was too late. One minute, black banana, same guy. $0.55! So yeah, that's absolutely nuts. Do better, Buc-ees. That's really messed up. I was really looking forward to a banana.
