Wasn't the best visit. The girl that checked me out clearly didn't want to be there,and my English charm got me no reciprocal pleasantries. But the worst part was driving away and almost breaking a tooth on what was wrapped and sold as a chicken sandwich (see photo) - but actually a rock solid object that was coated in batter and fried. I literally couldn't bite through it. Had to turn around and go back. Wait for a manager, who eventually warmed up, but initially was telling me I had to get the same exact sandwich in an almost accusatory tone. Yes, the 2nd one was perfect. But 20 minutes, a painful bite, and not even an apology was unacceptable. I was pleasant and congenial the entire time.
Was excited to try this place as I thought it was in Texas only. I never visited one when I was in TX so can't say how it compares, but this was a cool experience, especially for a gas station. What you are going to notice right away is that it is massive. There are so many gas pumps as well as parking spots outside. And then the inside is huge as well. We actually came twice..... the 2nd time it was mobbed with people, despite the size. Food decent and prices reasonable. Tried a few different bbq options. Not the best bbq sandwiches I've had, but very satisfying for road trip food. Will definitely want to return
This is my second Buc-ees , that I've been able to say I've had the opportunity to go too. The first one was Richmond, KY in 2023. Visiting the area, this past weekend, was thrilled there was a location 15 minutes from my hotel in Harrisonburg, VA. I think going at night, experience bit different not as crowded. Purchased there famous nuggets, snacks, a shirt. Love the clean , art work lined bathrooms, just like I remembered. Here you never wait for a pump, with their being 120,and at the register they verify with you , on the screen it's your car. If your traveling like I was, or local to the location, go it's an experience like no other. I love Buc I'm going miss the cheap gas prices.
We stopped here on our way to Virginia Tech, and it turned out to be a great choice. The place is huge with plenty of food options. We ordered brisket, a chicken sandwich, a salad, and chicken tenders with fries, and everything was delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy, and the tenders had just the right amount of breading, which I really appreciated. There are so many other items on the menu as well. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop. Highly recommend!
Yes, I'm reviewing what is essentially a gas station. However, if you've ever been to a Buc-ee's you know...it's so much more. It's been said that Buc-ee's is comparable to Walmart, and that's valid...but I'd say that it's more akin to Target. In all seriousness, if you're on the road in the midst of a long drive, and you see a sign with that big silly beaver, it really is a must stop. You won't have to wait for gas as there will be around 100 pumps (with prices much lower than a traditional truck stop), and the inside will provide you the opportunity to purchase whatever snack, beverage, hot prepared food, travel need, or beaver branded merch you could dream of. A must stop!
Buc-ee's is a gas station stop like none other! They have so many pumps and the cleanest restroom ever! There is a hand sanitizer inside each stall! Best part is their food and all the variety of things they sell at such a great price! My family loves all the BBQ dishes as well as their burger. Their pastries and fudge are out of this world. I am so glad they opened this new location in Virginia. I wish there was a Buc-ee's in Nevada.
First time visiting Buc-ee's after hearing SO much about it! I was NOT disappointed! It certainly lives up to every bit of the hype. Anything you could ever imagine needing is here. Whether you're stopping in to shop, get some delicious food, or need a restroom on your road trip, it's probably the best one-stop-shop of all time. The best part? The prices were actually reasonable. You would expect a tourist-y trap type establishment like this to get away with overcharging for goods but I was pleasantly surprised with the value. It's a little overwhelming, honestly! So much ground to cover! Make sure you have time to explore when you visit. The jalapeño honey beef jerky was some of the best I've ever had. It was tender and juicy and perfectly flavorful. We will absolutely be back anytime we have the chance!
I made the trip to Mt. Crawford so I could add this Buc-ee's location to my list since I've been a Buc-ee's fan for over fifteen years. I stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon (2-3pm), and had no trouble finding a parking spot, or navigating my way around the store. This location isn't as big as some others, but has all your Buc-ee favorites, clean bathrooms, and plenty of gas pumps. If you're wanting to stock up on Beaver Nuggets, flavored popcorn, candy, and souvenirs you won't have any trouble. The brisket burrito I bought for lunch was underwhelming. There was very little brisket, and a lot more beans. For almost eight dollars, it's a tasty burrito but could've used a little more TLC. Aside from the lackluster brisket burrito, everything else you're familiar with at a Buc-ee's is here.
If you ever dreamed of 100+ gas pumps, a ton of food options, and endless toilets like me, this is your place! I never been to these places before. I just heard of them and they were considered a myth to me for years. Like you just can't imagine a place this big with so many things in one place. Well this isn't a dream. It's reality. The place was so epic I had to buy a shirt to represent the greatest convenience store mankind has ever built. Come here if you want to live, eat, get gas, and poop.
I had no idea there was a Buc-ee's in Virginia, but as my husband and I were driving up I-81 and I saw a sign that said "Buc-ee's-55 miles" I told him that is where we were going. Apparently I'm not the only person who appreciates Buc-ee's because the place was packed! But they manage the crowds well. I had to use the restroom and it was very clean, as can be expected at Buc-ee's. I had to buy a new Buc-ee's t-shirt to replace one which I'd purchased in 2016 at a Buc-ee's in Texas. We weren't that hungry but I had a chocolate pudding parfait and it was soooo good. If you're driving near Harrisonburg, make sure you stop and experience Buc-ee's. You'll be glad you did.
My first visit to BUC-EE's! I absolutely loved it! Great selection of items, loved the T-shirts, stuffed beavers, all the great souvenirs plus so much more. I had to try some of the food and I'm sorry I didn't get more to bring home. We had a long ride home and not enough cold storage. The chicken and fries were very good, very moist white meat and super crunchy coating. The fries were crispy and had a real nice flavorful coating. The "Beaver Chips" are fresh cut potatoes, perfectly thin, crispy and delicious! The smoked turkey bbq sandwich was loaded with nice thick slices of smoked turkey and the roll was delicious...I added some of the free pickles and now I wish I brought home a pound of the smoked turkey ( they sell the smoked meat by the pound.) My sugar coated almonds, pecans and cashews are wonderful. There are a large amount of bathrooms and they were very clean. We noticed there was no seating to eat....,not a big deal for us...we had just walked around looking and shopping for about 20 minutes. We cleared a nice little place up front in the car and had a little BUC-EE's picnic in the air conditioning!

For a few years I heard about this place. First from my husband from his work travels then from acquaintances then on the news! I finally had my first experience with Buc-cee's and I could see what all the hype is about. I was blown away when we were just approaching the area! The many cars coming and going! I was blown away again when I entered the building. It was like going to a pro game or concert, so many people! But this crowd had a different vibe. It was like a frantic vibe. Like wanting to get in or out of the building or to make sure they were not missing out in getting the popular fried chicken or something else. When I mentioned to my hubby I was going to a Bucc-ee's he asked me to try the Brisket sandwich. Brisket is always last on my list of food to try. But, I will because my hubby asked me to. He's always trying things I ask him to. Well, I am glad that I did because that sandwich was very good. The meat was not dry and it had just the right amount of bbq sauce in it. I just added chopped onions that they already had in little containers to take. Together it made it a perfect meal. They did have an option of sliced or chopped tri-tip. My friend was trying to get an order of the chicken strips but every time it came out fresh people swarmed and immediately grabbed them. She decided not to be part of that swarm. I bought a handful of snacks to try on our road trip to NC and I wanted gift to my dad (an assortment of nuts) with a fave snack of his. This place had a section (2 of them) for drinks, for cooked food, and desserts. In another area there is a gift section. We visited this place in the midst of lunch time. I wonder if this place is just as busy during late hours. Although there seems to be plenty of parking it's still madness. Be sure to pack some patience with you. read more
Wow! What a great place to gas up, stretch out your legs, shop and eat. They have everything. Clothes, flip flops, food, gifts, books, on and on. It was a pleasure visiting this location. All the workers are so helpful and happy. The vibe here is way better than any depressing Wal-Mart Great job Buck ees! read more
We had such a fun trip driving up to visit Virginia's first Buc-ee's! I ate so many honey roasted pecans that I almost made myself sick. They were hot & fresh, and oh so good! We honestly spent over an hour here just soaking in the Buc-ee's goodness! I do wish this location had picnic tables somewhere but that didn't stop us from enjoying our BBQ & Brisket sandwiches. We all bought a bunch of snacks to last us until our next Buc-ee's visit lol read more

Clean bathrooms? Check. Busy as all get out. Check. Lots of food, jerky, snacks, clothing, etc... Defo. Food is decent if a bit expensive. I had a good BBQ Turkey sandwich. The beaver chips need a bit of salt, but they are good with buc-ees sauce. read more

This was my first Buc-ee's. Like... EVER! And I have to say, it totally lived up to the hype! If you've never been to one, first thing to note is the sheer scale and magnitude of this place. It's MASSIVE. No other word for it. I've been in department stores that were smaller. Fortunately, the walls are well-marked, so you can fairly easily find what you're looking for. I know folks like to rave about their bathrooms... and I wasn't sure I would mention them, because... bathroom. But, I had to check it out, and it was amazing! Red/green light indicators over the stall doors, very clean overall, everything in working order, everything very efficient and modern. It was honestly worth checking out! So many gas pumps... I didn't see any lines, which is good. We were just there for a pit stop and lunch, so I can't speak to the pumping experience itself. The BBQ is well worth it. I kept hearing everyone say "you gotta try the brisket," so we tried it. Chopped, on a bun. And boy howdy... so good. Smokey, savory, sweet, beefy, tender... it's everything you'd hope for in a chopped brisket sandwich. I got the pulled pork, and I was equally impressed! Very smokey, very juicy and tender. Both came with sauce, but no other condiments. But, they do have extra sauce and pickles if you want them. (I always want pickles with my bbq) This was a great experience finally making it to my first Buc-ee's. I get why it's basically a cult now. I hope there's one closer to us in Maryland in the near future! read more

"Buc-ee's is unlike any gas station I've ever visited known as the disneyland of gas stations. This place is massive, incredibly clean, and packed with everything from fresh barbecue and homemade fudge to snacks, souvenirs, and travel essentials. The bathrooms deserve all the hype -- spotless, spacious, and surprisingly nice for a roadside stop. The staff was friendly, the service was fast despite the crowds, and the atmosphere somehow makes a pit stop feel like part of the trip itself. Gas prices were competitive, and there were plenty of pumps, so the wait was minimal. If you've never been to Buc-ee's, it's absolutely worth stopping at least once. It's part gas station, part convenience store, and part Texas-sized experience." read more
Ok This place is awesome and crazy at the same time. Staff is very helpful and we're super friendly. We drove 2 hours of the way to see this place. Was it worth it ! You bet. Bathrooms are super clean and huge. There hot food selection was really good, it gets really busy at lunch time we had to wait for a few things but it was worth it, no outside tables so we ate in the tail gate to the beautiful background of farms. read more

Went to Buc-ee's for the first time and was genuinely impressed. The restrooms were exceptionally clean -- easily one of the highlights. -- I also loved the light indicators showing which stalls were available. The store itself is huge, with tons of Buc-ee's merch and plenty of space to move around without feeling crowded. The hot food options were just okay for me -- a lot of pork-heavy items and no breakfast chicken sandwiches, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, the brisket was decent. Lines moved quickly and the staff was friendly. Overall, a great first visit and I'm looking forward to checking out another location. read more

One evening on our way home driving, we saw a bumper sticker that said "I love Buc-ee's" on a car with a Texas license plate in front of us. As soon as I got home I searched in Google Map for the closest Buc-ee's and voila! There is one in Virginia! This is how I found out about this location and we went here today. Everything was as people described in various places. The bathroom was spacious, modern and clean. There were so many gas pumps, the brisket sandwich was delicious, the staff were nice, there was plenty of parking space, and you cannot bring your dog into the store but they are quite dog friendly outside the store proving areas for dogs to walk around and free poop bags. I wish it were a little closer so I would be able to visit more often. read more
We attended the opening of Buc-ees in 2025. It was a zoo. But we wanted to see the famous bathrooms and sample some of the food. Hubby enjoyed the brisket sandwich. The Buc-ees beaver tots were disappointing. They seemed like frozen tater tots. The banana pudding was delicious. The bean potato cheese taco was good. The fudge is excellent. You can sample all the flavors. The famous wall of jerky is there. T-shirts, pj's, toys, keychains, dishes and all sorts of items are for sale. Make sure you want your items. You can't return items (only exchanges are allowed). Gas is cheaper at Buc-ees. It is worth visiting at least once. read more
We LOVE BUC-EES. And don't mind the 2.5 drive to get their. We always buy a shirt, visit the drink and jersey wall, and of course get his Beaver Nuggets and the Triple Brisket Sandwich. But this time we did a little more and tried the chicken box. For the first time, I was disappointed. After waiting 15 or so minutes for the box I was disappointed to receive 3 small pressed meat chicken tenders with A BUNCH of fries. I ate the tenders and gave him the fries. Back to the other factors that NEVER disappoint. Like the Banana Pudding... OH MY . It ain't my mama's but it's in their swinging for the fences to get a wink from me . We also purchased the Triple Brisket sandwich, the Sliced Brisket sandwich, and the Turkey sandwich.... to bring home of course. In the past we've purchased the stuffed Tender Loin, the stuffed Chicken and the "fresh" jerky in addition to other goodies such as the Candied nuts, the charcuterie cups, and the fudge. Like I said... WE LOVE BUC-EES. And though we've only been 2, the one in South Carolina and now the Rockingham County, VA location, we have enough paraphernalia as if we've been to multiple . Whenever we go on vacation one of the first things I do is look for a Buc-ees . Go on and take a trip to the Happiest, Cleanest and Biggest Gas Station around. You won't be disappointed. But make sure you have some money in your wallet. Because I don't recall spending less than $150 in there. And yes, that's for just 2 people. And no, that does not include the cost of gas read more
Now this was an experience. My first ever Buc-ee's! I was in town for work and traveling around Virginia when I spotted it. I mentioned that I had never been to one before, and she immediately pulled off the exit so I could check it out. She filled up her car and met me inside. It was a madhouse, but I was like a kid in a candy store. I picked up some pralines, a pop, a snack, and even a winter toboggan. You can get everything from clothes, some groceries, homemade candy and fudge, beef jerky, and fresh sandwiches and snacks...oh and gas for your car too. It was a fun visit and glad I got to experience it. read more
Yes, Buc-ee's is an absolute must stop for weary travelers going up and down Route 95, 81 and more. They have over 100 gas pumps to keep the lines moving. Their bathrooms are impeccable and again they have so many of them that there is barely ever a wait. The store is gigantic filled with all sorts of items from clothing, housewares, licensed Buc-ee's merch to all sorts of foods to purchase including fudge. They are famous for their sliced brisket, barbecue sandwiches as well as their jerky. I personally have had their crunchy chicken sandwich, Italian sub as well as their sliced brisket sandwich. I adored the crunchy chicken and sliced brisket sandwiches. Buc-ee's is such an experience that I never pass one without pulling over and going in. It's like a small city. The only problem is that Buc-ee's are so much fun to shop that it delays your trip by the amount of time you are browsing! Hahaha! read more
Buc-ee's has the following and its reputation for a reason. Everything is Texas Sized and done RIGHT. I visited the Mt. Crawford location while traveling to see family. This location is easy to get to right off the exit. The parking lot was ample, and the lines inside kept moving. The staff were friendly and professional. Cleanest restrooms you will find! I grabbed a chopped brisket sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich (wish they make a super sandwich with some of both) and a bag of chips. Almost everything they sell is Buc-ee's branded and the quality does not disappoint. Their pulled pork is done without sauce which I like. The brisket sandwich is sweet, smokey, and tender, I can't seem to find anything I don't like. If traveling along I-81 in Virginia then I definitely recommend you hit up Buc-ee's, you will be glad you did! Would give 6 stars if I could. read more
I'm from the West Coast - we don't have Buc-ee's. I've been once in Kentucky and driving in Virginia when I saw this we pulled right over! It's insane!! There are literally like 100 gas pumps. Clean reatrooms. Friendly employees. The store inside is like a Walmart. They have incredible bbq - pulled pork and brisket that's so good. Candy, jerky, gifts, drinks, home made fudge. It's all so good and reasonably priced. It lives up to all the hype. read more
First time visitor to Buc-ee's and found it to be everything I'd heard it would be. Large and larger. One stop for gas and a clean restroom turned into a one hour event. Got my steps in for the day! LOL Fun time as long as you don't expect to "run-in and run-out" read more
--Location/Parking-- Located off the highway in Virginia. A well lit parking lot and gas pump. You cannot miss this location off the highway with all the signage sprinkled throughout the interstate. --Ambience-- Big and bold is what Buc-ee is known for and this location does not disappoint. Well stocked shelves. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of foods. I did notice that the BBQ station and the burrito order station had a limited or no food menu during the night time. --Service/Staff-- The staff at the checkout were quick and rung me out before the morning crowd, which can get intense during the day. --Products/Service-- Depends on what you love there are so much to choose from and it does not disappoint. --Overall-- Recommended for their clean bathrooms. Price efficient fuel and their big selection of food and drinks. read more

Been to this Buc-cee's a few times already and I'm enjoying dropping by on the way going south. Wish they'd open one up a bit closer to NoVA, we'll see if that ever happens Everytime we've gone there's always chaos and lines and they've run out of the bbq/brisket. And I wish they had more seasonal sweaters that fit a bit better (the one I got ended up being too long and loose).
