The store was well-organized and clean, and we found everything that we intended to buy. As with our home Food Lion, I'd love to see a bigger variety of fresh fruits and vegetables ... nonetheless, what was there was fresh. The check-out clerk was friendly and efficient; products went through at their correct prices. Parking was free and plentiful, and the small shopping center where it's located is easy to access as there is a traffic light off Rte. 33. We appreciate that patrons at any Food Lion location can earn/redeem incentives through their MVP Shop & Earn Monthly Rewards Program.

When you return empty bottles, the machine does NOT provide a return ticket. On several occasions, my husband has been asked by the lead Sales Associate for his exchange ticket. We have briefly interacted with this lovely woman for years; however, the fact is she knows the Primo machine does not provide exchange tickets when she's asking you for the ticket. On another occasion, a younger Sales Associate did the same thing and then told my husband they are trying to make sure people are being honest. We cannot drink our well water and purchase Primo exchange bottles at Food Lion routinely. To avoid this accusatory encounter, I have now resorted to self-checkout. To do so, simply search for the product by typing "Primo" and select the 5 gallon exchange. The lead Sales Associate will still give judgmental looks, but she can't do anything about self-checkout personal accountability. The honor system does not work if you're going to routinely accuse your customer base of theft. Fix the Primo exchange machine and then you will fix the problem.

This review is a year-in-the-making, but as I was coming back towards the northeast on I-81 I saw a sight for sore eyes -- a NEW Buc-ee's located in Mt. Crawford, VA! Mind you, it was opening week and this is the most northern location on the East Coast -- so you know it was packed! Regardless of the number of people, nothing -- not food, nor clothes , nor supplies -- was ever lacking! Everything was being bought out, and at the same time being replenished. Service was amazing, and their new Chicken and Fries were amazing! You need to get it with their dipping sauces, though. Buc-ee's was beautifully decorated for the grand opening, and traffic was flowing in and out easily. I'm sooooo happy that there is a Buc-ee's located on the 81 corridor, this is going to be one of my favorite stops on my trips! Gotta visit the BEAVER!

This is a great place to stop during a car road trip. There's so much to choose from/do as it's a…read morebig location. Whether you're looking for food, souvenirs or even getting gas for your car and going in the restrooms. Lots of option and can kill time here. The store was very clean and well-organized with different sections for everything. Merchandise neatly stacked, displayed, and folded. Food labeled with ingredients - noted I did pick up a fried chicken sandwich (seemed popular) and I will note in the display picture I saw a sauce on it that I pointed out to my partner as I wasn't sure what it was (he thought it was mayo/ I thought cheese and it ended up being a sauce) There wasn't a label on the display from what it was that I could see. It may have been my poor eyesight and will note they DID list all the packaging ingredients on the wrapper for food allergy in a big paragraph. But if you're a picky eater like me and want a brief restaurant-style menu item recap, I would be prepared to ask an employee. Fresh food was neatly packaged and hot food was hot. Beverage/ coffee areas were tidy and labeled. Buc-ee's is known for its bathrooms(according to Wikipedia), and this location definitely lived up to that culture. Lots of stalls and stocked bathroom areas. Parking was plentiful, with clear traffic signals and directions. Shopping carts were stored near the front doors if you wanted to grab one. I don't think I saw any places outside to return the cart so looked like you would have to keep it inside or wheel back to store if you wanted to drop off items to car. Areas for pets to take a break and smoker area were marked and looked well maintained. Despite the store being quite busy when we visited, the employees were friendly and mindful. Staff members were courteous and never seemed to be rushing or shoving past/around customers while in a hurry to complete their tasks. Some of staff were wheeling around things like carts full of products/ holding boxes, and I never felt like I would get bumped into by them. We had a positive experience asking for food samples and ordering items from behind the counter. We checked out at two different entrances as we made two trips. During checkout, I asked one employee even about the chanting and they took the time to enthusiastically explain what the chefs were chanting and shared a bit about the company culture, which explained yelling for fresh-goods. The only minor issue I encountered was when purchasing glassware. The cashier initially tried to place a Shotglass in a plastic bag with several other regular normal items, and I had to ask for additional wrapping to help protect it. He then wrapped it in an extra plastic bag. Would've been nice to have paper or something at the register to wrap it safely. Without the extra padding, it likely would have broken during the drive home. It's also a hazard if it's dropped in the parking lot, gas station areas or honestly anywhere on the premises. So that's why I'm giving 4 stars today. Otherwise, they very charming and smiling - great customer service at the very front entrance to come in. Overall, we had a very good experience and want to stop again at this gas station during our road trips if we are in area.

The inventory varies, depending on what suppliers had too much inventory of. Some items might be close to the expiration date. Many of those items are in the chilled areas at the back of the store. Large creamer containers could be two or four/1.00. Bottles of juice could be 2/$1.00. Cottage cheese or yogurt can be as low as .10 or .25 each. There are lots of items that aren't expiring. They are inexpensive too. There is an entire aisle of cases of soda. I got 12 packs of Birch Beer (think root beer with a wintergreen flavor) soda for $7.99. The variety was unique. Soup flavors were limited and priced low. I bought the Grilled Cheese & Tomato flavor soup for 2/1.00. It tasted as advertised. There were several types of microwave soups, convenient for trips or lunches for 2/1.00. The baking area was varied and unique. There were at least 30 types of flour, including gluten. Salad dressing bottles were .50 for 8 oz and 1.99 for 16 oz. There were larger sizes too. There were unique baking flavors (eggnog) and lots of filling flavors for pies and pastries. A family of five seemed very excited about giant mayonnaise containers for $6.00. The chips and snacks were mostly inexpensive. The only section that didn't seem to have a discount were the Little Debbie's. Bottles of Gatorade were .89. Snack bag sized chips were 2/$1.00. The household row had toilet paper & other paper goods, plastic bags and containers. A 10 lb bag of ice was $1.99. The employees are friendly. The bathrooms are clean.

I was going to get 2 item's and asked the gentleman if they did cashback, he had said no and after he followed me throughout the entire store and watched every move I made, I decided to go somewhere else that would do cashback. As I put both my items back, and proceed to exit the store, the man in detail describes me the candy bar I put back onto the shelf, I look at him confused with the door half way open not being able to understand what he is saying at all. Then he proceeds to ask if I put the candy bar back, or if I have it someplace on my person. I proceeded to say I put it back, you can watch me throughout the entire store and ruin my entire experience but can't watch me put that candy bar back? And I legit did it while he was facing my direction, after he finally went behind the register after following me everywhere inside the store. Whenever I'd change isles, he'd peek into the isle I was in staring at me each time, and walking towards me lol. I asked him about cold/hot food cases and if they had any, he proceeded to show me the only type of food they had like that which is sandwhiches, and I was uninterested. He kept me at the door for 3-5 minutes asking me if I took the candy bar lol, which I proceeded with patting my clothes showing him i don't have it and explaining I put it back and how he should have seen me doing that. He ask's the same questions over and over, "are you sure u put it back" lol which I replied with "yes" and walked over to the candy bar I placed onto the box and picked it up and said its right here, aswell as patting my clothing and lifting my shirt. Will not be shopping at this destination anymore lol, the staff is just rude. And quite frankly, As an employee I wouldn't even freak that much over a candy bar if someone was actually trying to steal one. I in no way showed or acted like I was going to take the candy bar, I kept it in my hand in plain site for the employee and any customer if they walked towards me or past me lol, there was no indication of me stealing or attempting to steal anything at all.
