I was able to get a Brisket Sando without sauce and a few toppings to add. The brisket is perfectly smoked and has good flavor. First time at a Bucc-ee's and I was pretty impressed! The gas station part and parking lots was HUGE. It vaguely reminded me of a Costco parking lot and gas station but with significantly more gas pumps. We entered into the Bucc-ee's and were greeted by staff. We went on a Friday afternoon, and it was pretty busy! There were tons of items everywhere including Bucc-ee's merch, food, and seemingly more local or small business home good items. For the food, my boyfriend preferred the chopped brisket sandwich while I preferred the sliced basket sandwich. The chopped brisket sandwich had more of their bbq sauce than the sliced brisket sandwich. The sauce was flavorful and sweet. The chicken tenders and fries were well seasoned and crispy. The fries were my favorite thing. Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. What more could you want? The banana pudding was alright and nothing special, but it is a nice treat to have on the road. Despite how busy it was, check out was fast. There were many cashiers available. read more

The best road trip stop for snacks drinks gifts and bathroom breaks. This is the newest and only in VA but it lives up to its reputation from TX. Tons of pumps, with decent prices. They offer non ethanol gas as an option if you care but I what I like and care about is their gas price which is definitely one of the cheapest options in the area. Inside the place is huge, tons of hot and fresh food from brisket fudge nuts jerky tacos to tons of drinks options. The bathrooms are immaculately clean and well kept. Stalls are big and there's so many spots there's rarely a wait. They sell all the usual Bucees gear from clothes to their brand foods it's great and dangerous for your wallet . Have you been to those parking garage that has those lights to tell you if it's vacant or unavailable ? The world needs more Buc-ee's. Delicious prepared food (I didnt even get a chance to snap a photo of the BBQ brisket sandwich I devoured so fast), wide variety of snacks, cool merch, and more. We went on a Monday and the place was packed, but lines moved swiftly and out of stock prepared items were quickly replenished. The restrooms are huge and thankfully clean. Love going to Bucees. Most of the parking here seems is on other side of pumps. The layout is pretty much like the others. One thing that is different is they sell wine here, with some variety. The brisket sandwiches are made fresh all day. They have different toppings that you can put on them. The burritos are huge and very tasty. Took a random Wednesday off work to go with my friend who is obsessed with Bucee's. It didn't disappoint. Very large, lots of gas pumps, clean restrooms, quick checkout, and lots of fun stuff to look at--some I've never seen before. It was sort of empty when we got there right before noon, but the lines for food and stuff got crazy after we finished walking around. I haven't been to one for a few years, but I have a few shirts, a plush, and endless tales that I've told my family of how much I've loved this franchise. The service is always better than Chick-fil-A and you can't convince me it has nothing to do with their model being based on livable washes instead of religious dogma. On to this location specifically! We went yesterday and it was such an experience! 600 parking spaces (according to the internet) and nowhere to park. There are handicap spaces, but nowhere near enough. Getting in and out of the parking lot was a bit nightmarish tbh. Huge selection of candy, nuts, baked goods, and so on. The customers are crazed, very excitable, but it's only been open since 6/30 and it's 7/12 as I write this. It's family vacation time and I was able to convince the family that this should be one of our stops. Mom actually planned our lunch to be from here based on my memories of the sandwiches! And I'm so glad she did! The sandwiches were flying off the shelves. I lucked out and saw someone bringing more sandwiches (chopped brisket) out right after dad texted we couldn't get any so I was barely able to get them for us, but I succeeded yay! Took a detour from my road trip to check out the new Buc-ee's location in Virginia. This was my first time visiting, and it was overstimulating in the best way. There is so much to see and so much to buy that I felt like I barely scratched the surface. The restrooms are massive and spotless. I loved the jerky wall, and the number of slushee and drink options is almost overwhelming. They also have a wide range of seasonal products and items from small businesses. I honestly don't think I managed to explore everything in one visit. My partner and I tried the three meat sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were delicious, but we especially enjoyed the pulled pork since it was juicier and more balanced. Just a note: additional sauces are available, but they do come at an extra charge. The only downside was the gas price on the day we visited--it was much higher than nearby stations. We ended up filling up at Sheetz down the road for a better deal. read more

I stopped at the Bucees near JMU twice this week. I love Bucees!!!! I got a Carolina pulled pork sandwich that was scrumptious! So perfectly seasoned and bbq sauce yummy. My wife got the chopped brisket sandwich, I got talked into trying the 3 meat sandwich (brisket, turkey and sausage). We paid them headed outside to eat near the car. This Buc-ees was the first one I've ever been to, as they don't exist where I live. On our road trip though, this new location was right off the highway on our route and easy to get to! This place is HUGE for a gas station and gas is cheap too. There were a ton of people inside and it was crowded, so it was hard to try to look at things, unless you would spend hours there! The wait wasn't that long despite the line that extended into the store. The store was packed liked sardines in oil. I didn't want any parts of the crowds. Love this gas station. Apparently it's the largest Buc-ee's on the East coast.The drinks and snacks are great. On my most two recent visits I was doing a road trip to Pittsburgh and back on my way up was Thanksgiving weekend it was the busiest I've ever seen it. I was still able to get a sliced brisket sandwich it pretty great, but I'd prefer my local Texas bbq joint. On my way back home from Pittsburgh. I tried the Texas brisket burrito. That was pretty good. Nothing too wow about it. I know some people aren't used to Texas barbecue, but I do prefer again my local Texas barbecue joint. It's pretty hard to beat because it's the best I've ever had even though I haven't been to Texas, but it's fresh and I really like their barbecue sauce. If you're in a bind and you're feeling snarky, you definitely do have to try this place because I'm just slowly trying their menu one visit at a time. They do have some great deals on gas, so I tend to fill up when I stop here. When you're here, you gotta try there chocolate my favorite lately has been the Buc-ee's over by which is chocolate covered peanut butter, but they also have some other flavors. Most people try their beaver nuggets. They're pretty great but I wish they were smaller snack size portions I don't always wanna get a big bag. I'm glad I got to stop here for some Christmas items recently like ornaments and bags. I say empty but there was still like a 100 plus people in there, it wasn't as packed as the other locations. But that didn't deter them from providing the upbeat and amazing quality they are known for. Buc-ee's is my spot for refueling. They always have the cheapest diesel prices. A good location at this Buc Ee's in Virginia. I'm glad one has made its way up north. This location recently opened within the couple of weeks and is evident by the massive foot traffic on a Saturday afternoon. The crowd was unbelievably large, however getting in and out was not as stressful as I anticipated. I was able to park at a pump, fuel up, and go inside to use the restroom and purchase food. The bathrooms were very clean with no lines. For there to be so many people I was impressed by how efficient they were at getting people in and out, even considering the sheer number of people who are meandering and causing holdups. I was able to go in and out of the store multiple time and relatively seamlessly. Unfortunately, because the store was so packed on this occasion, the manager made the decision to halt sale of hot brisket by the pound, which was a huge disappointment. I understand the decision and it made sense considering the risks of running out of brisket for sandwiches on such a busy day. The glazed pecans, paddle tail, chocolate chip cookies, chopped brisket, hot turkey, and club melt were all delicious and fresh. So was the Texas Cheesesteak Burrito. The chopped brisket sandwich tasted similar to a sloppy joe (and looked like it because the brisket is covered in sauce) if you close your eyes. I was not able to try the sausage on a stick or peach cobbler as it seems both were sold out by 1:30pm (or maybe those are breakfast items). Overall a very good experience. Finally got a visit this place. It was a great experience. Best gas station experience ever. Variety was in abundance for most items they sale. Food was good. I really liked the bbq brisket sandwich. The pulled pork was not how I prefer mine but it was cool. I tried their cherry maple beef jerky, and that was not what I expected but still great quality. Would certainly try the Korean bbq or teriyaki jerky next time. Fountain drink option did not disappoint. The pineapple cream soda was so good. I have never seen cleaner restrooms in my life, that was super impressive and deserves major kudos, especially given how large their restrooms are. I understand the hype! I visited Buc-eye's once in TX, but it was my first time and I didn't get anything. I just went to the bathroom (which was very clean!). With that, I'd describe the Harrisonburg Buc-ee's as my first true experience. The energy was ELECTRIC! I went in there and it was jam packed. I planned on only getting a few things and not grabbing a basket, but things went left quickly. My hands were full, so I had to grab a hand basket. I just picked up a lot of random things to try. My favorites were the banana pudding, blueberry muffin, and bean dip. The brisket was a little too fatty for me. Overall, the energy is what did me in. Well since I was Harrisonburg for a bachelor retreat, I was finally able to visit a Buc-Ees since there's not one close to my area. As I was waiting at the light, I had an opportunity to view this massive establishment like OMGOSH, it's a town all by itself! As you walked, the atmosphere and energy is like no other. There were so many variety of options from fresh hot foods like sliced brisket (delicious), chopped brisket (delicious), fried chicken and fries, hot desserts such apple pie (delicious); peach cobbler; roasted hot nuts such as pecan, almonds and cashews; souvenirs, cold and hot beverages, bakery, variety of jerky, icee, packed goodies, variety of fudges, clothes, stuffed animals, and so much more. But it doesn't stop because on the exterior, you are approximately about 120 gas pumps and plenty of parking throughout the property. And we can't forget about the staff, these are the friendliest, high energy full of warm smiles and they took pride in providing the best customer service such as Dana the cashier. She was very helpful and patient. This is definitely a one stop kind of environment and great for the entire family. Come check them out and it's very overwhelming. read more

The only complaint I have about Buc-ee's is the selection of fountain drinks. It seems crazy that I'd have a complaint about that when they offer about 30 different kinds...but even with so many choices there is not a single sugar free fountain drink available. It would be easy to offer one unsweetened ice tea, a diet soda, a seltzer or a sparkling wager. Even ONE would be nice. On the plus side, when I was here two months ago they still had those styrofoam cups. Today I was pleased to see that they have eliminated those and switched to regular plastic. Buc-ee's is worth a visit just to experience this massive gas station and convenience store on I-81 (about 5 miles south of Harrisonburg, VA). It's a Texas chain founded in 1982. This location in Virginia opened in June 2025. Lots of pluses. First, it has about 50 gas refueling pumps - an astounding sight for Virginia. Second, the convenience store has lots of crunchy snacks (e.g., the Beaver nuggets are popular). Third, the restrooms are clean. On the minus side, healthy options are limited. Also, it does not have a picnic dining area or pedestrian sidewalks to reach your parking spaces from the store. But these are minor quibbles. Overall, it's worth a visit to experience the massive scale of the gas station. My family visited on a Sunday afternoon in October 2025 and it was too crowded to get any brisket sandwiches. read more

This place is a tourist trap.....and I love it The gas is super cheap compared to those on your road trip. As you pull up it's amazing to see how huge the place is and how many gas pumps they have. I'm pretty sure they keep the prices low so you stop for gas, then walk in to use the bathrooms in the back and stay to browse......$100 dollars later you have some real good "Q" sandwiches, some snacks, a tee shirt and some other stuff you didn't even know you needed....lol.....you go crazy walking around. Finally got to try out the fabled Buc-ee's. Basically take a Sheetz, add a Cracker Barrel store, add a BBQ pit in the middle, and make it Texas size. Seriously, this place is huge, and has more gas pumps than I ever seen in one place. And its the first and only time I've ever seen a gas station/ convenience store with shopping carts available. The brisket sandwich was really, really good. The homemade chips are delicious. And the prices are reasonable. Its easily the best rest stop I've ever been to. I get the hype. read more
