For a convenience center/ gas station I have to say Wawa has done it right and it absolutely keeps me coming back to their specific stores. The Short Pump location is busy but it's staffed and managed well. I've found the staff friendly/ personable and on the ball. I've never had to wait very long to receive my food order or long in line to pay, and they get food orders made right. The food options here are awesome- breakfast, hoagie sandwiches, and interestingly coffee options are my go-too. Sandwiches rival other sub places easily and Wawa is actually my preferred. Food is made to order and never skimpy on the amount. Prices are the cheapest that I have found for similar food anywhere else. Wawa has rewards that give free meals. Points rack up rather quickly. I order from the app and it's easy to use and automatically gives you the points. Best value for the money in my opinion and for better quality food. read more

What started out as a routine pit stop at Wawa ended in pure delight. Picture this the kids were hangry and still needed a bath and mama was exhausted. I stopped in for gas but left with hoagies and kids meals for my kiddos! Yes you heard that right Wawa now has kids meals!!!! The kids meals are only 3.99 and come with an entree, a side and a drink!! Even though the kids plowed thru their meal they mostly enjoyed playing with the boxes the meal came in and I enjoyed the peace and quiet so it was a win-win! I arrived at the local Residence Inn at exactly 9:00pm, when evidently every restaurant in the area closes. The Residence Inn's parking lot was jam packed and their staff not very helpful (I may be writing a choice review about them shortly), but suffice it to say that once I found a parking spot moving the car was not an option. Our dinner options for delivery were slim. There was the awful TV dinners that the Residence Inn had in its pantry, or the small containers of cereal we had stolen--er--left over from another hotel that morning. My heart jumped a beat when I passed the Wawa. It's not every day that the wife lets me eat burgers, hoagies, and hot dogs for dinner but by gum we were so hungry she was practically begging for them herself now. So I fired up the Wawa app, set up a new account for myself, and started to place an order for delivery. After spending about 20 minutes trying to navigate their app I finally managed to get it filled with all the delicious junk food I could, continuing to add stuff until I reached the threshold for free delivery. I clicked checkout, and got an error message saying something along the lines of "our app can't process your payment now, but come on in instead". I tried again and again, but each time it reset my order. At one point I was practically screaming into my phone, "please, please, PLEASE take my money". But the app refused each time. By now it was 10:30 PM. We ended up having a lovely dinner of Frosted Flakes, Rice Chex, and Frosted Mini Wheats. I realize it's probably not fair for me to leave this review for the local Wawa when it's probably "corporate" that screwed up, but whoever's fault it is, they wasted a lot of my time, cost themselves a nice bit of revenue, and likely cost them a customer the next time I'm in a situation like this. read more

I am a fan. I had gone to a different gas station in downtown Richmond where I had to pay for air for my tire. Someone tried to help me and used up my paid time as he was kind of drunk...but well meaning. I kept saying "really I'm ok...thank you though.." and he thought he had the air wand on the tire valve and he didn't (due to his alcohol content), and I gave up. I drove to my event, and then stopped at this Wawa after dinner. What a lovely and safe location. I know I'm probably the last person on earth who didn't know, but Wawa provides feee air for tires. This machine had a really nice feature of setting the tire pressure you need and then it will regulate the air to/from your tire and alert you that the tire pressure is now set and will beep to tell you to remove the wand and replace the valve cap. There are lots of lights and it's a setup that makes you feel safe. I will surely return even if just for gas. read more

Really good food and gas! Gas is usually cheap and they have a credit card that brings it down 5 cents! They have TONS of food and for different people! Some salads, coffee, yogurt, cold wraps, and even hot stuff (breakfast omelettes, quesadillas, bowls, etc) It is a great gas to stop before, during, after a long trip or before/after work! Using their app to order ahead is the worst. Why? Wawa doesn't receive the order placed on the app until you arrive there. At that point, your order is placed in line behind any other orders that have already been placed. If you come during lunchtime expect to spend your entire lunch break there or most of it. I've been late back to work a few times due to this. I'd rather go somewhere and pay double and have time to relax and enjoy my food. Better yet, of this is your only nearby option for lunch, then fast. You'll thank me later. read more

Wanted to try a gobbler, girl charged 18 dollars for two bags of chips, a drink, and a bag of gummies without giving the usual receipt for the mto foods back, couldn't get the sandwich even after almost an hour of trying to convince that I paid it full since apple pay doesn't do detailed receipts (I also asked her for a receipt before but she just stood there silently at that point) then she told me the line was holding up because of me. Worst thanksgiving for someone without a family anymore. I suggest the other wawa by carmax and the third one by popeyes. read more

After two nights in a row of them being completely out of all coffee options, I came in the third night and after finding a spider walking on a coffee spout, I watched the man making my drink reach his gloved hands elbow deep into a trash can, dig around a bit, then without changing his gloves he finished making my drink. He made my drink while using the same gloves he used to dig in a trash can. I can only imagine the health issues for people if he was on food preparation. Also earlier that day I ordered a regular mocha frozen cappuccino, instead I got a drink that was 60 percent chocolate drizzle. The white lady in the back making food at 3-4 in the morning was a total bitch. I was on a motorcycle and was cold so I came in bought some coffee and asked the lady running the register if I could charge my phone. She said sure sweetie no problem. Well they lady making food did not like me charging my phone and was a total bitch to me and asked me to hurry up and leave!!! And I was buying coffee and doughnuts!! WTF is wrong wth people. I wouldnt ordinarly review something like a WaWa, but this is a hidden one! It's located out past the Short Pump mall, right before you hit 288, and it's got the cheapest gas prices north of the James... It's a new, large WaWa with gas pumps, beer/alcohol, a full hoagie bar, plus all the normal things you probably already love about WaWa (coffee, ice cream, healthy snacks)... Avoid going around 5pm when everyone hits it to get gas before they head home from work... they have a lot of pumps and a spacious gas area, but nevertheless it gets packed and the wait can often be 3 or 4 cars long at a pump! read more

I have visited several Wawa locations and this location is my favorite. The employees are always polite and they prepare my order quickly and correctly. The store is clean and stocked well. Even when it has been crowded in the parking lot, the employees have easily been able to handle the crowd. The vanilla latte and the cheese quesadilla are my favorites. They always have the best prices (and for that reason tend to stay pretty busy), and it's conveniently located at Broad and I-64/288 just west of Short Pump in Goochland. Wawa vs. other Gas Stations = 5 Stars Broad St. vs. other Wawas = 3 Stars This Wawa is the closest to work, but on the OTHER side of work from home, so if I find myself here, that usually means that I have run the tank down too low and potentially lack the ability to make it home. Zoinks! That said, this Wawa has all of the standard Wawa amenities (good food -- both made to order and grab and go, a great selection of beverages including sodas and coffee, and cleaner than just about any other gas station) and offers really easy on-and-off from 288 without subjecting you to the cluster of traffic that is Short Pump. My only point of caution is that this place gets crazy busy between 5 - 6 pm; it feels like every time I have come to this Wawa, I have had to wait for a pump. Even with that nuisance, I'll still stop here every time -- their gas is usually $0.03 or more cheaper than what is available in the Innsbrook corridor. read more

The installation of this WaWa should go down as one of the greatest things to happen to humanity since the death of the Macarena. The hogies hit the bottom of your stomach with such vigor that you'd swear somebody threw it down your throat., after eating there weekly this year my hands had callouses from all the gut rubbin. The gas is cheap, the food is good, but the people watching is the best! Never have I seen so many $40,000/year millionaires ashamed to be seen pumping gas into their Honda Accords. My daughter left her purse here. Someone turned it in to the manager. It was kept safe for days in manager's office after calling to claim it. Went to pick it up. Friendly, cheerful, professional. Manager retrieved immediately even though heavy store traffic. All contents were 100% as before. Wonderful, caring, and communicative team. Made my little girl understand real community.
