After looking for someplace close we found cafe54. SUPER close to campus. My eggs were ok. The corned beef hash was the canned kind just like I like it, because some stuff you can make fresh and fancy up but that preservative, war time taste just hits and you know I'm right. I had coffee that would put hair on your chest. and an Arnold palmer that was kind of watery. Oddly enough I found those traits acceptable. My son had french toast. This is only the 3rd time he's had it (by choice) and he really enjoyed it. While brunch/lunch was a 3.5 in my book it was a 5 for him There is no tap to pay but they do take the usual cash and card. So just don't forget your cards in your pants pockets and you'll be ok. The place was bright and airy with outdoor seating and the service was just ok. Decent place. You should go in a try it out.

as a longtime resident of Ashland, who really wants to see a successful business in the center of…read moremy town it really pains me to have to give this review. I've eaten here twice now the first time I said, I would never go back, but I wanted to give it a second chance. This place basically does breakfast and if you only do one thing, you should be great and let's face it. Breakfast is one of the easiest things to make and do well but this place misses the mark on every level. First impressions walking in the door, the place is freezing cold even the waitresses all have goosebumps and who wants to sit in a refrigerator and be uncomfortable while you're eating? We walked in the door to a nearly empty restaurant with these big, beautiful sunny windows, but they sat in a dark corner while the booths in the windows were all empty. Business 101 people attract people put them in the windows so that they can have use and people can see that the business has customers!!!! maybe they didn't wanna sit us next to the windows because they were covered with greasy fingerprints that looked like they had been there since the last weekend and hadn't been cleaned. The glass was gross. The menu has all the standard fair that you would expect from a regular breakfast restaurant.... in Kansas. all very American. Nothing stands out as being gourmet or unique in a market where there's a lot of money and a lot of transplants who are used to better stuff than ordinary Americana breakfast food. The prices are a little high, but it's 2026. Everything's high. We order our food. I got scrambled eggs and they were hard as rubber because they were overcooked.! How do you own a breakfast restaurant and you can't cook scrambled eggs? I had the eggs returned and they did a decent enough job on the next batch but generally speaking the food was just barely OK. I got orange juice and it came in a giant glass and it was clearly from concentrate. Maybe that works in Iowa but at a specialty restaurant in a fashionable town I want fresh squeeze orange juice. I don't need 10 gallons of it. I would rather have a little juice glass full of fresh orange juice than a gallon of concentrated crap. I just don't think these people understand their clientele and they don't do anything special like blueberries for your pancakes.... There's so many things you can do with breakfast and they just did the bare minimum. It's so disappointing to have the restaurant with the absolute best geography in our community barely trying to make decent food or make customers comfortable in a clean environment. I was charitable when I gave them two stars because I actually felt bad. I want them to succeed, but they really need to rethink what they're doing and try a lot harder.

The grits were really good and the onions rings were fried and battered really well. The sausage however was mediocre. The waitress was very apologetic and even threw in free dessert to make up for the slow service. Thankfully I wasn't in a rush so it was a nice gesture. I would come back and actually get a grit meal based on the side of grits that I had which were phenomenal. Overall I was happy with experience and would come back again. She asked him if they had pepper Jack cheese and his response was " we have provolone,Swiss and cheddar. If you want pepper jack you need to go Subway." One of the co-workers said something and he said that he doesn't even care. Extremely RUDE!!! Then talking about how their bread is freshly baked and subways isn't. The…read moremeat used to be piled in there, the sandwich was full, and even though people complained about the prices, I never really had a problem paying them because you actually got what you paid for. Well... those days might be over. I really hate leaving reviews like this, but this was the last straw for me, and hopefully management or the kitchen staff sees this and works on the consistency. The picture on the left is what I was expecting. Grilled onions, lettuce, meat falling out the bun -- THAT is the cheesesteak I remembered. That is the sandwich I had been craving and was excited to finally get again. Then we have the picture on the right... my Supreme. Mushrooms? Check. Green peppers? Check. Grilled onions? Check. Meat? Apparently on vacation. I mean, come on now... somebody please put some meat on them buns! And here's the part that really gets me: BOTH sandwiches were made in the SAME order. One looks like the cook said, "Load it up!" and the other looks like they suddenly remembered they had a food cost budget to hit. I hadn't been here in a while because the exact same thing happened to me the last time I visited. So this was me giving them another chance. I guess my cheesesteak and the kitchen have some kind of personal beef... except apparently there wasn't enough beef on my sandwich. That's what makes this so disappointing. This used to be one of my favorite places for a cheesesteak, and I never minded paying the price because the quality and portions made it worth it. But when two sandwiches from the same order look THIS different, that's not a price issue -- that's a consistency issue. I won't be rushing back anytime soon. Maybe I'll give them another shot in two years... Or maybe by then my Supreme will finally have enough meat on it.

I specifically chose curbside pickup over a nearby drive-through because I thought it would be quicker and easier. I was completely wrong. I placed my order at 6:50 PM and was told it would be ready by 7:00. At 7:06, 16 minutes later with no order in sight, I called to ask where it was. The person who answered simply said "I'll check" and hung up. At 7:10, they finally called me back to ask me to repeat my parking spot. Apparently, they had no idea I was even there waiting for a curbside order. The smoothies finally came out at 7:17. That's 27 minutes for three smoothies, with two small kids in the car. While they did apologize for the wait, the apology felt hollow. Nobody was friendly throughout the entire process, and there was no real acknowledgment of how seriously inconvenient this was for someone sitting outside with two young children. To top it off, they forgot to include straws for one of the smoothies and didn't include any napkins. If you're considering curbside pickup at this location, don't. Go to the drive-through somewhere else. You'll save yourself the frustration.

Unfortunately, when we went to pick up the order, there was no record. Not a serious problem. Easily corrected, right? Until we spoke with Gabe, the "manager". When I tried to explain my situation, he talked over me, raised his voice, even said he couldn't continue to speak to me. I could not believe my ears. No offer of a solution. No acknowledgment of a possible error on their part. Nothing. In frustration, we called another local Domino's, who mentioned they were having system problem. So disappointed in this location.
