The parking lot is on the smaller side and also kind of awkward. Spaces are on both sides of the building, with two entrances. You can either leave by the backed up light or try to make a left closer to 64, which seems dangerous. Point being: Have some patience if you visit this store. Otherwise, it's like most other Wawas...and a bit of home for this Jersey girl living in the South. Good sandwiches, grab-and-go drinks and snacks, and a decently clean public restroom. It's not a huge set up, but it's easy to navigate and check out is a breeze.

Their certified mechanics know their way around an engine! And they do State Inspections. Access from either Patterson or Three Chopt is a breeze with plenty of space to maneuver and several pumps. They can be on the high side for this area, but this is a clean, nice business with attentive customer service. There's no convenience store or car wash... but they are community oriented as they feature book signings, poetry readings, art shows and other events from time to time. BUYER BEWARE - especially women! So, I don't like to write…read morenegative reviews, but I feel compelled to write this one because honestly, this situation made me really angry the more I thought about it and I feel it's important to share with other women who may consider having their vehicles serviced here. I am selling my 2007 Honda that has been very well maintained and has been one of the best cars that I have ever owned. But it has about 200k miles and I felt it was time to get a newer model. On my suggestion, I met the potential buyer (another woman) at this Shell station where she had arranged to have them do a "courtesy check" (which was in itself $134). Upon inspection, they found an oil leak. I rang my boyfriend (who is a mechanic) to ask him to come and look at it. When he looked, he said he felt that the leak was minor and could likely easily be fixed. But I could tell that Shell mechanic was irritated. They told the buyer that they would write up an estimate for repair. Later as I was returning from moving the car into a parking spot I walked into a conversation that the mechanic was having with the buyer stating that the car was going to be nothing but problems for her and that my boyfriend was a "complete idiot and had no idea what he was talking about"! They had also produced her with an estimate of over $3,600 worth of work that they were suggesting should be done to the car before she should even consider buying it!! When I reviewed the estimate, it included a new timing chain kit, air filters, polishing the headlights, tie rod ends, a license plate light bulb a valve cover gasket set, and a few other things... NONE of which were actually wrong with the car but Shell felt like could go wrong at any moment! The oil change repair was not even included in the estimate! When I asked a second time if any of these items were damaged currently, the man at the desk said no, but they could go at any moment. He suggested I dump the car or try to sell it to a dealer. Needless to say, the lady didn't buy the car. I went home and looked up the price for a new Timing Chain Kit with Water Pump and was shocked to see it at Advance Auto Parts for $137!! The same part that Shell was charging $1,436.66 for and an additional $1,000 in labor!!! I also read that most timing chains last as long as the engine does... which is beyond 300k miles with a Honda! I then called Halls (who does much of the service on my car) who said that the timing chain on my car was in good working shape and was just inspected a couple of months earlier!! In looking back through reviews here, this seems to be a common practice with this service station. Whether they are rejecting an inspection and claiming there are significant repairs that are needed or overinflating problems and prices to line their own pockets! I'm sure this review will receive some response claiming to validate their position. But my advice to you, is to go somewhere else...unless you like being called an idiot, or being treated like you are a dumb female or paying them money for the sake of paying them money! There are plenty of service stations that will be HONEST and will treat you professionally with respect, so save yourself the aggravation (and a substantial amount of money) and go elsewhere!!

Most recently, I stopped in to use the bathroom. It was very clean for a convenience store. I then bought a couple of drinks and a snack, and the person working the cash register was extremely pleasant. They made at least 15 Sheetz puns in the time it took to check me out. It was impressive.

My sis and I popped in to get some gas and check our tires, one looked a bit low. The sweetest lady, Dina, came to help us! She could have called over one of the mechanics, but she took the bull by the horns and filled and gauged all of my tires! Above and beyond the call of duty since she works in the convenience store of this shop! After we also grabbed some snacks and beverages for the road, we gave her a nice tip for her incredible customer service and friendly disposition! I've since made it a point to frequent this gas/service station and they never disappoint. Their attention to detail and customer satisfaction remains stellar! I have yet to be in need their mechanic services, but would definitely recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to give the a go! Fill'er up!

Idk why Wawa go out their way to short people of the coffee they purchase. Rude and combative over just filling my coffee to advertised amount. There's clearly a reason this specific Wawa has a below 3 star rating. Arguing over coffee, when it would have taken less time to fill it to 32 ounce. Also this is not light ice. Every other wawa knows what light ice is, they also know what 32 ounces of coffee is. Even this wawa morning staff knows what light ice, and 32 ounces of coffee is. The confrontational staff was African American woman with glasses and blond short hair.

That was depressing. lol The people we were visiting in Richmond told us where they took their vehicles to for repair, so that is how we ended up at Grove Avenue repair center. A man Jerry (I think he is the owner) got our Suburban in the shop the next day and everything repaired about a day later. He explained everything he was repairing and showed us on the vehicle. Not living in Richmond I had no idea what to expect. Everything was fixed and we were back on our east coast adventure with minimal delay. The price was very fair. Thank you
