Mama said if I can't say something nice don't say anything at all, but I'm going to go ahead anyway. We just had a horrible experience here. We ordered our chicken for the family. 20 pieces. We paid, and were given order number: 873. There wasn't enough chicken prepared to fill our order, so they told us it would be 6 minutes for the next batch. Well, that batch came and they immediately started filling orders that came in after we had placed our order. 881... 882...883... 890! They filled a half-dozen or more orders before our order number was even started. Then, as they began filling our order they were out of chicken (breasts) again! We continued waiting, and after 20 minutes without an update, I asked how much longer is this going to take? Answer: another 15 minutes or so!!! I get it: Mistakes happen. What matters is how they are recovered from, and Royal Farms staff did nothing to try to make it right. We weren't offered substitution options. We weren't offered a complimentary fountain drink while we wait. We weren't even offered an apology for the mis-ordering of order fulfillment. The attitude seemed to be, "We have your money; you'll get your order when we give it to you." It took nearly an hour to get our order, from the time we paid until the time it was handed to us. This is unacceptable. We will never order chicken from this location of Royal Farms again. Postscript: They placed our hot, steaming, crispy chicken in two separate sealed zip-locked plastic bags. During the 10-minute drive home that steam managed to turn that crispy, crunchy breading into a slimy, goopy, slippery mess. Thanks again, Royal Farms! Nope; never again! read more

I visited during the soft opening on August 23, 2023. The store was bright and clean, unsurprisingly, as it is brand spanking new. I've visited other Royal Farms locations in Virginia and always get their fried chicken for which they're pretty well known. It's fresh, well-seasoned, and hits the greasy-hankering spot. Additionally, they carry a tasty variety of storebrand snacks; I LOOOVE their chips. Like other Royal Farms, this location will be open 24 hours and has several gasoline pumps. read more

My wife and I thought we'd check out the chicken since a newspaper article a while back gave kudos to the fare. Wow! Could not believe this was the same place written up. Upon arriving, we noticed the litter and trash leading up to the entrance. The entrance vestibule was just filthy. The windows, doors and even the walls were just plain dirty. Inside the store was not much better. It looks like the manager hasn't been doing their job! All this was on a non-busy Thursday afternoon. Went for the first time today and I'll say, the way some guests were speaking to the employees and just BERATING them was unbelievable. But I never saw any employee say anything back. Just smiles and apologies. I think that speaks volumes. I got several items to try. Chicken breast, thigh, drum. All were very seasoned and very fresh. 10/10. Mac and cheese. Very creamy and cheesy. 9/10 Potato wedges. Very good flavor and fresh. Could be crispier but they were very busy so they might have just been rushing. 8/10 But HUGE shoutout to Max! AWESOME service and helped me through my needs quickly and with a great smile! Will come back for his amazing service alone!! The chicken is good but the wait time even when ordering ahead of time is slow. Also they don't give you the bonus reward points they advertise when you buy certain food products. You can call and they'll act like their working on the issue until you forget about it. So be aware. read more

I went to try this place out myself after hearing mixed reviews. Overall, I also feel mixed but mostly positive. The building itself is clean, organized, and immaculate, with even the bathrooms given some quality care. Above average variety of snacks and supplies to order, almost like a small grocery store. Getting an order is a bit weird the first time around. Everything is done via touch screens, and the menus are a bit confusing to navigate. Doesn't help that there are ads to get you to buy more food on top of that. But after placing my orders at one computer, and paying for them at a different computer, I just had to wait for the busy staff to cook. You can clearly see everyone hard at work wearing proper kitchenware organizing, cooking, and calling out order numbers. There's a nice warming cabinet showing which foods are ready and available to order. Customer service was good as well. Everyone was clearly rushing but still friendly to the customers and themselves. As for the food itself? The chicken wings, potato wedges, and even the "spicy" tenders are all perfectly cooked, nice and fresh, just the right tempature, and bland. Part of me thinks they know the food is lacking seasoning, which is why they push out dipping sauces for literally everything. I wouldn't mind coming here again, but as a customer be prepared to add flavor to your food with either their condiments or, preferably, your own. read more

I've been to Royal Farms in many states. This is the worst chicken I've ever purchased at Royal Farms. This is a new store #484. I ordered two spicy wing meals to find out they was out of spicy wings. Then I was told to changed my order verbally by the staff. No need to change in the system. I changed my spicy wings order to one spicy Tenders meal and reviewing meal. I received one tenders meal and two regular wing meals. Not what I ordered. All of the chicken was over cooked, the Regular tenders were ridiculously hard, and the two wing meals were so over cooked and dark brow. They wings looked and tasted like the cooking oil was burned and old. Very disappointed for a new store. I have pictures. read more

Worst mistake ever.. the restroom had toilet paper with feces on it on the floor and both stalls were completely dirty at 1045 am .. I walked back out still needing a restroom and food. Went to get one of their breakfast sandwiches listed on their menu (on their website). They didn't have any of them in stock (they were on order for next week). We were disappointed, but one of the nice young ladies behind the counter went out of her way to personally heat up the two biscuits that were pre-made. The bacon was nice and crunchy and the biscuits were delicious. The customer service from the young ladies behind the counter was just exceptional. I hope the company recognizes this and gives them a surprise raise. read more

Made our first and probably our last trip to Royal Farms to check out the chicken we'd been hearing about.First thing we see is a sign on the door,all they have that night is dark meat and tenders.My wife orders a 2pc dark meat box,me the spicy tenders.We stand and wait for a while and then are informed they have no spicy tenders,only regular.I go ahead with regular,trying to be a good sport and wedges.The wedges were almost gone too,looked like the bottom of the barrel.(I wish now I'd taken pictures of the mostly empty food trays)Got it home,the dark meat as well as the tenders were nothing special,the wedges were limp and soggy.My advice would be not to bother wasting your time and money on this obviously poorly run business.The food is way below average. read more
