Super cool market with a great selection of freshly made meals, snacks and desserts. There is also a great variety of wine, beer, cheese, chocolates, and kombucha. You can find almost everything here including coffee, gift cards, and healthy beverages. The staff is so friendly and helpful! I'll definitely stop by here again!

    Delicious cinnamon roll!!

Great local mini supermarket in the fan! This place has literally everything you can think of from fresh fruits and veggies- all the way to sunscreen for the summer! They also have great coffee, pastries, sandwiches, most from all local companies!! Today I came here to try C & C's cinnamon rolls. I've been wanting to try these because this company only works out of a home I believe and Shields market carries these! The cinnamon roll was great! You could definitely tell it was baked from scratch and the light cream cheese frosting was on point! They also serve beer and wine. This cute little mini mart has everything you need in case you forget anything!

This is what Fan living is all about. The ability to walk to one of the many "old school" convenience stores that dot the area. Shields Market represents the very top of what a market should be. In a neighborhood where homes hover in the 450-600k range at the top, the tastes of the average fan dweller have gone considerably upmarket. Luckily the recent redesign of Shields Market (run by Mary of Joes' Inn fame) has kept way up with the trends and tastes of this more upscale client. Sure you can grab some ciggies and beer, but now you can choose from a seemingly endless choice of upscale, boutique and local beers. They advertise "order at Joe's and pick up at Shields Market" which is a convenient and less fussy way to get your grub on the go then the seemingly always busy Joe's Inn. The full menu including beer and wine is available for pick up. There is a wide variety of Greek Specialties and baked goods to solve any late night or last minute craving. Fresh produce bought locally is also on hand and changes along with supplies. They even have a nice selection of vegetarian choices, an unusual option for a store barely 40 feet wide! Shields Market is so good they would do well by starting a chain of them to serve all of the neighborhoods in town. Come on Shields, bring us more, more, mooooore!

How cool is this? You can return the jars with lids for refunds!

They are always SO nice and helpful, and I love the grab-and-go food made by Joe's Inn across the street!

Stella's was a great spot to start a fun day of co-working and exploring in downtown Richmond. My…read morecolleague and I were having breakfast next door at Perly's, and stopped into Stella's for a couple of iced cherry blossom lattes to get the day started in style. This little shop is full of Richmond cuteness. From specialty groceries, to locally-made art, to unique gifts and treasures, I could easily have filled my suitcase with goodies. I ended up buying a gorgeous postcard here (designed by a local artist) - the design featured the coffee shops of Richmond. Of course, I forgot to take a pic (who me?) but it was adorbs. The latte was delish, too! I don't usually like cherry-flavored things, but on a warm morning this was the perfect touch. The edible flowers made it just that much more delightful.

I am a fan of Stella's Grocery. They're always in the area when I need an afternoon pick me up or a…read morecute gift. I usually come to this location for coffee, specifically coffee during a long wait at Perly's next door. I love their coffee options. This is an intimate/smaller Stella's Grocery, but it has all the local goods the others have packed in. There is a good amount of seating at the front too. You can order your coffee drinks at the front. They also have all the standard Stella's Greek food to go options. At the very front you're greeted by cute Richmond souvenirs and gifts. They have favorites in store like Nightingale Ice Cream sandwiches, Blanchard's coffee beans, Mad Kitchen Co. postcards, and more. I'd recommend getting a drink from here!

Sun-shelter parking! How awesome is that? I'm traveling this week for the Fourth of July and…read morevisiting my hometown, and this, ahem, relatively new location, replacing the Pleasant's Hardware. As I said, they have sun sheltered parking off to the left of the main parking, a great option when it's 99 degrees outside, and a decent rain shelter too, though it would be a bit imperfect. The store is typical Whole Foods though a tad smaller than the location I'm used to, it still has great options for vegetables especially organic, and other healthy items like kombuchas and limited ingredient prepared foods and some great meat and cheese options. I asked for directions to find an item on the shopping list and had a friendly response, and our checkout person was friendly and helpful too. The market was busy and but not overcrowded and there is a lot of space around the perimeter (they say shop the perimeter for the best foods and WF seems to have given thought to giving you more room for that and a tad less for the aisles, a decent approach for my tastes. They were having an issue with their freezers on this day but had the wherewithal to direct customers to the location the frozen items had been moved to, a very customer-friendly move. The AC kept things nice and cool inside on a very hot day. And the meat department was even more chilled. From my Mother, While WF can be a bit more expensive, they offer Prime Deals often and carry a 365 prime brand that is dependably low priced and high quality. Watch for a once a year ice cream discount too!

I am left to write a review about this since I've talked to someone in store and online and over…read morethe phone but the fact that when you return home with a three year old and find your bread is moldy and you cannot easily process a refund is reason enough to not go back. Do not tell me in this day and age that is not possible. That is a choice. That's a choice Amazon and Whole Foods is making to make the lives of their customers harder. I have a prime account. I check out my own items. I use the card you promote and have a digital receipt. Yall can laugh and hang up on me and say that isn't the way you do things. That's fine but I'll just got to Kroger then. Because of the way they do things. When there's choices treating people fairly instead of giving them the run around matters. Especially when your products are expensive. Maybe Whole Foods and Amazon will change their policies if enough of us say enough is enough. Probably not but it's worth adding five minutes to a 45 minutes saga of unsuccessfully getting a refund for moldy bread. As if there aren't enough reasons to cancel prime.
