So dirty. Filthy cash registers where you don't want to put food or even touch the pin pads. Grab supplies from the cleaning isle and get to work. Yuk! read more

Still kind of crappy. I only go here when I have to. Crowded parking lot. Long lines as few registers are open, and be sure to bring a cart in from the parking lot because chances are pretty good there will not be any in the store. It also drives me crazy Kroger has not bothered to upgrade its check out terminals for contactless pay options. read more

This Kroger location is jammed most of the time. The lines were extended down the aisles. The self check out was packed. I had three items, 2 gift cards and a cake, and the express lane was closed. I ended up going to the customer service and was able to get out fairly quickly. Not just more cowbells... more lanes!! I love that they carry Ukrops goods!! So that's a plus! The floral department was lovely. The store was pretty organized. Average grocery store... read more

Kroger - Gorgeous plants - Grocery Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

I only go to this Kroger location if I have no choice. Why? The employees are not friendly, they stand talking to each other while you are needing help at the self check out, they rarely have any baggers and when I have bagged my own groceries the cashier acts like I am supposed to and does not say thank you. In addition, the interior is dark, and the entry ways often have trash on the floors and are not well kept. The kicker for me is that this store allows its employees to set up a "smoking/break area" in front of the vacant store next to Kroger. There are two chairs and what you could call a bucket sitting there where I see Kroger employees sitting and smoking. The issue comes in when they leave their drink cans, cigarette butts and other trash on the ground or filling this bucket. In the years I worked retail we never allowed employees to take breaks in public areas in front of the store or in front of the business next door. This location simply is poorly run and the lacking customer service is an indicator of poor management. read more

Kroger - Kroger employee smoke/break area in front of business next door! - Grocery Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

Horrible service. Do not order your pick up items here. I tried it twice, both times it took over an hour! They blamed it on their software. No excuses, if there was a problem, call me, text me, come out to my car. Instead you left me sitting there! I will NEVER place a pick up order here again! Awful experience! Waste of my time!! I could have gone inside & shopped quicker. read more

An old ladies purse was Gayton Crossing Kroger while shopping there yesterday. Someone asked her to get something off the shelf she was next to and stole her wallet out of her purse when her back was turned. She found it in the next aisle over with all her money stolen. When she asked for the manager, the manager said it happened all the time so they would not call police for her and encouraged her to not call police. Be vigilant, folks. read more

During the pandemic I do all my grocery shopping online. The online shoppers and delivery staff have been wonderful. They can't always get my choices but offer subs that do just fine. The make my life easier and I'm grateful that they are there. The only time I go into the store is for my vaccinations and I pickup scripts on the curb. The Pharmacy staff is great also. I'll be so happy to get back to shopping in the store again. read more

This has to be the worst Kroger in town. The lines are regularly backed up and I always think to myself "was snow predicted for tomorrow?" The express line is never opened. I simply tried to buy a gift card and the cashier couldn't figure it out. The manager finally made her way over and fixed the problem; but in the meantime everyone behind me in the very crowded line was giving me the eye like I was the one holding up the line. I'll usually drive the extra distance and go to Publix. read more

I'm sure everyone has limited time these days. So that means the time we have has to be used wisely. I do not care to go grocery shopping but of course we have to eat so we have to go. I keep forgetting about services offered by most grocery stores these days in which you can order your food online and go and pick it up and they bring it to your car. Well, for Kroger, you can use this service three times free which I've done. I used all three at the location on Gaskins road. They went pretty good. Then I paid for the service and had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes which was a little annoying but whatever I got my groceries and everything was fine. Until today... Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Last night (Monday) I ordered my food, it was about $50 worth. I scheduled to pick it up Tuesday (today) between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., I arrived and called in at 4:19. The young lady said she'd be right out. I waited 15 minutes then called again and someone else answered the phone and said they were having some issues with the computer and they'd be out shortly. I asked if they're having trouble with the computer is that having affect on me in my receiving my groceries. She never said yes she just assured me they'd be right out. 25 more minutes go by...a total of 40 minutes!! Before my groceries came to my car. 40 minutes!!! I was told by the assistant manager they were going to take off $25 plus the the service fee. Ok, I appreciate the nice gesture they're trying to make it right, cool. However, I'm still very upset that I had to wait 40 minutes! So I get home, and I have someone else's food order. Yep! You heard me right. So now I'm really upset all over again because I have to go back. I go back and I wait another 20 minutes. The guy brings the food to the car and he doesn't have everything right. I ordered an 18-count egg, I received a dozen eggs. I ordered a particular kind of cheese I had the wrong cheese. So I go inside and the same assistant manager that told me she was going to take $25 off is now throwing that in my face, like she's doing me a favor! Ma'am you owe me at this point. So that kind of made me upset even more so that she was throwing that in my face. She then said she would just let me have the groceries which at this point I didn't really care, she still hasn't done me a favor because she wasted so much of my time and made me late for work to the point it was senseless for me to go in, therefore I lost money. I will never spend another dime at this particular Kroger on Gaskins Road ever again. Because they can not get it together. Funny, the last review I did on this Kroger, received a one-star, so apparently nothing's changed. read more

I tend to go more to the Short Pump location- I absolutely love the service and selections there. With that being said, the Gayton/Gaskin location has a gem Named Maria in the Deli section. She was super helpful and pleasant!! read more

Meh! This Kroger is fine. I mean, how badly can you mess up a grocery store? I'd love to see it get a good facelift and the layout seems a bit odd with the medicines/pharmacy type items in the middle. They have click list over on the side which is a great service that I'd encourage everyone to try. read more

This Kroger still sucks. I went today as I refused to pass my house to go somewhere else. All of the land o lakes fat free creamer was expired! They need to rotate their stock as i bought some corn Chex though while still good until September had Christmas advertisements and recipes on them! They moved everything around again so making it hard to navigate. Still plan to avoid this Kroger at all costs! read more

This particular Kroger is typically clean and has a friendly staff. The produce is not consistent, however, as it can range from very good to barely edible. Generally, the vegetables are better than the fruits. They have a couple isles for organic foods, and they have a nice selection of wines. While you pay more here than you would at a place like Walmart, I prefer Kroger due to the lack of crowds and congestion. read more

The worst ever....no shopping carts...Express lady wants,to socialize instead of helping customers...one step above water boarding

Horrible customer service from the self checkout attendant, refusing to offer assistance, blaming policy for own fault. Will not return to this Kroger, and will hesitate to visit future other Kroger's. Whoever worked 8 Sep 2016 10:15 pm, should never consider a career in customer service. read more

Good location and very convenient! I shop here a lot I love the organic stuff they carry !

I love the store for multiple reasons. I've been a Kroger fan for a long time and this store is customer service is definitely the best. From Casey in the pharmacy going above and beyond what she needed to do, to meet even expressing a frustration to management and within a week actually noticed a change. Prince have to go employees have always been nice and respectful. I really can't think of anything more I would want out of a grocery store staff. read more

Dirtiest Kroger with worst selection and even worse parking lot. Won't honor competitor coupons and rude management. Worth it to go to Food Lion 2 miles away. I save 7-10 per shopping trip on future purchases and they ALWAYS honor competitor coupons. This is the absolute WORST read more

Every time I've gone in to the store within the past 5 years (with the intention of filling a prescription), the person filling my prescription is either unable to speak English or is morbidly obese. At the same time, thank you, Kroger, for helping me to leave your disgusting stores and become a dedicated Publix customer. I can finally receive my prescription from someone who is not bound to have a stroke at any second due to extreme obesity! read more

5 stars for the bakery manager Robert who gave me stellar service when ordering a baby gender reveal cake. Knew exactly what I was looking for and how to keep things a surprise. Also was patient with me when I had a few questions. I had called a few other bakeries who were not accommodating or couldn't manage this simple request. Thank you Robert and Kroger! read more

The staff is great so I need to mention that first. They are always very friendly and accommodating. I frequent this Kroger more than 3x a week for groceries/wine/salad bar. I shop here really because it's the most convenient location to my home and office. The parking lot, however, is a clusterf*ck. Also, there are hardly ever any of the smaller-sized carts available inside the store and many times there are no carts available inside! These are my only complaints. Otherwise the prices are decent and the quality is fine. read more

As an older store it is smaller than other grocery stores. The produce is terrible. You can often find rotten fruit mixed in. One time the peaches were going so bad that there was a bunch of bugs flying around them. They simply to dont to rotate the fruit out very often. Checkout staff is friendly enough, they need a produce manager to really turn around the produce section. read more

You would think a billion dollar corporation like Kroger could spend a few bucks and fix and paint the store floor in this Kroger store? Overall I find this Kroger store not only grimy but very disorganized and in my opinion when Wegmans opens stores in the Richmond area places like this Kroger will never survive. Stepping into this Kroger is like walking back in time, the store has a 1970s feel, and unpainted grimy looking floors. As for right now Martins is much better but Wegmans will put Kroger and Food Lion out of business in the future. read more

Updated review: On Tuesday April 4 at around 10:30 a.m. I was checking out. Unintentionally, I blurted out OMG. The lady in line ahead of me wanted to know what was wrong. I then described the knuckle that the employee at the customer service counter was trying to jam up her nose. As we watched, she then proceeded to rub her face with it. With a tone of sadness, the lady in line ahead of me said that she was not going to be able to get that image out of her mind. My cat likes to lick my face; perhaps Kroger should provide their employees with cats to lick their faces since obviously this employee is not using tissues and is not embarrassed to clean her nostrils in full view. read more

Today my wife and I went in to grab a quick sandwich. There were 4 people working right behind the sandwich station. Each looked at us and just went right back to what they were doing. One lady started asking us what we wanted and when we gave her our order, another worker walked over and said something to her that we couldn't hear and she looked at us with an "i dont know. I have to do this now.." and she went to cut sandwich meat. One employee who was wearing a boarshead jacket made eye contact twice and both times looked back down and kept working on what looked like a "more important" catering order. The store was not busy. This review would have been 1 star, but an employee named Adrian recognized the situation and asked us if we were being helped. After telling her no, she came around the service station, and completed our entire order. Adrian understands customer service and should be recognized for saving what was in line to be an awful experience. We'll give Kroger another chance, but it'll be tough with Publix getting ready to break in the area. read more
