Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you experience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. This location is across from the Citrus Tower. It is clean and located in a shopping plaza, so parking is not an issue. It has a good vibe and I enjoyed my time shopping here. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. This is my go-to Publix location. They usually have the items I need in stock. Wish they had more $5 sushi Weds choices though. This store is bright and clean. It seems they open a Publix on every corner these days but I guess you could say it's for a reason. They must be doing something right in order to open up so many stores. If you don't already have the mobile app, you need to get it. It makes life easier. You can place orders for the Deli and pick it up as soon as 30 minutes after placing the order. Sliced Deli meats, cheese, hot Deli items, platters and subs can all be ordered through the app. When you check out, you can use the pay function in the app and set it up so a receipt printout is not needed. All your receipts are digitized and easy to pull up later. There are also digital coupons on the app that you can add to your digital shopping list. These auto apply during checkout. Yes, I realize this review is turning more into a review on the app but it does make your shopping experience so much better. The Winn Dixie app doesn't come close. They are always busy but offer multiple ways to checkout. I prefer the self checkout lanes using the mobile app pay function. Self checkout is very easy to use if you haven't tried it out yet. If you have any trouble, someone is always nearby to assist. read more

Publix is the go to place for us. Partly out of default but at the same time they do a good job of serving the community with quality service and groceries. I wish their prices were lower on necessities. We do hit the bogo items when they're what we usually buy or close to the same product. read more

Decided to go to the new Publix in Wake Forest for my weekly grocery shopping. It has been open for less than week, so it was quite busy early Monday afternoon. Large store, nice layout. They have a deli counter, bakery, on premises fried chicken and a seating area to dine, sushi, and a floral section. Of course being new there were many management persons and other employees present and more than willing to help you find anything. I did take advantage of several coupon / weekly specials. While I saved money on those items. I found the prices to be higher on similar brands and products as compared to my normal grocery shopping experience at my local Food Lion. Publix is 15 miles away from my home. Unless they have an incredible weekly special, I will most likely not be a frequent shopper there. read more

Publix subs for lunch today. We've all had lot of sub sandwiches. You can get 'em in many places. But there's just something about a Publix sub. I ordered an Ultimate. Always with Boars Head meat. Roast beef, ham, turkey and swiss cheese. On a multi grain roll. Lettuce, spinach, tomato, green peppers, olives, onions, jalapeños, salt, pepper, oregano, oil & vinegar. No mayo or mustard on a sub... Not EVER. Maybe it's the bread - crusty on the outside, moist and firm on the inside. The meat is fresh, the veggies are crisp. It's just a GOOD sandwich. And ya gotta have some banana pudding for dessert. Just because. Order ahead online... They'll have it waiting for you. read more

Overall, a nice clean grocery store. However, just not seeing why everyone was so excited for Publix coming to WF. The employees are very friendly and they do have a nice bakery section but otherwise it's nothing that I can't get at Super Target. The almond bear claws are very delicious (again, something that I can get at Lowe's or elsewhere). Publix is a clean grocery store with friendly employees - not a lot more than that. read more

We ordered a bunch of platters for dinner for our wedding. A little over $1000 got us five chicken tenders platters, five sandwich platters, three wrap platters, a veggie and a fruit platter, and a handful of different appetizer platters. There was more than enough food for out 85-or so guests and we had plenty of leftovers for the following week. The food tasted great. It was easy to pickup. I LOVE Publixs! I have never been so happy to have a grocery store open in my town! We shopped at Publixs in Charleston, SC before we moved here. We missed it terribly. The store was always clean, well priced, and the staff was always friendly. We now have one in Wake Forest and I am so happy! I went into the store the other day to purchase some tea. I only drink one kind of tea: Snapple Tropa-Rocka and Publixs is the only place in the state to purchase this tea. They were out! NO!!!! I was scared that they might be like every other store in the area and stop carrying it. I was crushed. At the service desk, they offered to help and found that they had a shipment in the back that had not made it to the shelf. They took care of me and brought several packs to the front of the store. I am happy to report that my Tropa-Rocka is now always on the shelf at Pulix. read more

Fine Publix. Just like all others. Haven't found anything to be faulty. It has all the amenities of a big Publix, ample beer selection, produce, deli, and lots of open lanes. Even 5-6pm in here isn't crazy with the lanes they open up. Edit 2017 - this place has been disappointing me more and more after 1.5 years. They run out of sale items. A lot! Can't shop here on Saturday afternoon or Sunday at all, because BOGO and sale items are typically gone. I work more towards Winter Garden/Windermere way and find the Publixes over there to have fresher produce and more selection of higher-end products as well as they rarely are out of stock. This is still my go-to store, I just don't go to it as often as before. read more

I wish they would build one closer to North Raleigh!!! Publix is the perfect balance between options, good prices, cleanliness, and deliciousness! The bakery here is wonderful! There's tons of parking, a great selection, and the store is always clean. I haven't needed help during my shopping trips for the most part, but the two times I specifically couldn't find an item, the staff was super helpful. An aside from the traditional grocery aspect of this store... we bought our wedding cake from the bakery here and it was through the roof amazing! If you are looking for a wedding cake get your behind to Publix ASAP!!! Their prices were the best in the city and I interviewed over 15 bakeries both small and corporate. The taste was even better than the price.... I know I'm biased, but it was the best tasting wedding cake I've ever had. I was nervous after our tasting (which was wonderful!) that the cake wouldn't taste as delicious and fresh large scale on the day of the wedding, but it was absolutely perfect and everyone raved about it and wanted to take leftovers home. You are only limited by your imagination as far as cake flavors go.... we did three tiers (carrot cake, white with lemon filling, and white with buttercream) and all three tiers were incredible. I'm a die hard Publix fan, in fact I've never met a Publix I didn't like. I love Publix so much I'm thinking about building a house near it so I can walk to it everyday. It's an unhealthy obsession, that drives my husband nuts. We love their fried chicken and pub subs. Two things that are essential when going away for the weekend. The bakery is on point too. Try the Carrot cake, just do it. The lady that prepares the Publix recipes is the sweetest, and my four year old looks forwards to seeing her every week. She always takes the time to say hello to her and give her a snack. The cleanliness and customer service are what keeps me coming back. The bogo deals and everyday prices are awesome as well. I love that they offer online coupons, and if you're really lucky it can be doubled with a paper coupon from one of their weekly ads that are located at the entrance right when you walk in. read more

I ordered a graduation cake for my son. We chose a layer of chocolate, a layer of vanilla. And hummingbird filling. I ordered online which was really simple, and in the notes requested that they use dark blue icing, even though that was not listed as an option on the site. The cake was ready on time and the decoration was perfect- just as I requested. Have you ever ordered a cake and had your guests each politely take a tiny bit? Well, that did. I've become increasingly unhappy with Publix service over the last few years. Mostly in the deli and checkout. Today, one person was waiting on people at the deli in the store and 5 others were doing internet orders (according to the one). Then while checking out, the service person bagging my groceries abruptly stopped bagging and announced that she had an Instacart order and would be leaving midway through checking out. High prices and bad service soon drives customers to other sources. read more

So, the store itself is fine, clean, stocked, no problem. My problem tends to be when I check out. Most of the time, I remember to bring my reusable bags. Yes, they are bigger than plastic bags, but when you ask me, or I ask you, that it's ok to use multiple bags, why do the baggers find the need to 1. Put all my canned goods in one bag or 2. Use 2-3 bags for $100 or more of groceries when I brought you 10 bags. Now, carry out is complimentary. I have a 2 1/2 year old, and now a newborn. Personally, I don't even think I should be asked if I would like help out, it should just happen, unless I state otherwise. I have 2 kids to put in the car, then somehow have to get the cart to a cart return while my children sit in a hot car. Not the best idea. This store overall is very nice, clean, generally friendly employees. Some go above and beyond like the manager (I think he's the manager). He goes above and beyond to ask if you need help or come with you to the car and take your cart back for you...I really appreciate not having to walk my cart back. I also love that you can order your deli meat online and it is ready and waiting for you in the separate pick up area to the right of the deli counter. No lines or waiting for deli items so I love this service (give them 20mins or so typically). 5 stars for this! The biggest issue I have had there is with a birthday cake I ordered. Now there are 2 parts to this...the ordering was awesome. There was a young lady that listened to my wants and got her phone out after nothing in the book appealed to me, helped me search Pinterest, and came up with a cake design. She was awesome! The negative was in execution & pick-up. First they couldn't find the cake when my hubby went to pick it up... then when I saw it at the party it wasn't right. Don't get me wrong..it was cute just not how it was supposed to be exactly...I trusted it would be as discussed (especially since they printed a picture and included the rings with the order) so it was somewhat disappointing but not enough to ruin a party of course. There were supposed to be about 10 sea shell, starfish, and sand dollar rings included and on the outside of the cake but they did not include them at all. I also agreed they could use more cupcakes on the fin if needed and I would pay extra to make it look like the Pinterest picture but they didn't (even though I saw the lady write it on the order). Anyway, I probably won't order a cake from here again and will go back to HT for that as they have done them every year for me with no issues. So I would give the store itself for cleanliness and availability of help a high rating but the bakery I would have to give a low rating based on this experience. read more

Publix is great. A clean store with some friendly employees. The only issue I have is with the deli. Sometimes the subs/wraps are so good and other times they aren't good at all. You order ahead and tell them you want a pound of something and you want it sliced thick and you get it and it's over a pound and sliced thin. If you ask for it thin you get thick. So frustrating. I brought it to the attention of the deli mgr. and she fixed it but the deli needs consistency in it's service to customers. read more

To say I was overall disappointed in the "grand" opening of the newest Publix in NC is an understatement. Starting from the outside the building looks nice nestled between two neighboring strip buildings that share a parking lot. The parking lot itself is a disaster. The spaces are slanted for "convenience" but finding a spot to park in is itself an inconvenience. The parking lot is about half the size it should be for the amount of businesses that are planned to go into this complex. The cart returns are also built into the landscaping and look more like drainage gutters at first site. The lines and arrows along the parking lot look as if they didn't have time to dry and are smeared and blurry. When I finally got a space and went into the store the first thing that came to my mind was "cluster****". The deli and produce sections are bunched together so close that you can hardly move around them. The layout of the store was easy enough though, if you know what you want you can probably find it fast. Overall cleanliness was on point, except for the lady I saw knock over a bottle of oil, shattering it onto the floor, and then immediately leaving the store without a second thought. Granted this is only the 2nd day the store has been open so I would not expect any less. Pricing was another take away for me. Once I started comparing prices on items I typically buy elsewhere I realized why they picked the location they did to place this store. The only people that can readily afford prices that go beyond that of Harris Teeter (across the street) are those living in the Heritage area. Once again I was overall dissatisfied with the opening experience of Publix of Wake Forest. Unless improvements are made to the problems I had stated above, I'd anticipate that the hype of their opening will die off in 2 months and customers will go back to the easier and cheaper to shop at stores, i.e. Wal-mart, Aldi, Food Lion and, sadly, Harris Teeter. read more

Yesterday was the 2nd time in about 3 months that a FAKE SERVICE DOG LUNGED at my service dog and almost bit her. 1st time I went to the so called manager after and she did NOTHING. 2nd time was yesterday. Saw the dog and it's owner in produce so we walked the other way. I did notify a guy who works for Publix about the dog. While walking from the refridge case back toward the produce in the back of the store the FAKE SERVICE DOG lunged at me dog again and almost bit her. The dogs owner said nothing but give the dog treats which just tells the dog it did nothing wrong. There was a really nice lady right there and she saw the hole thing. She could tell my dog was upset and I was in tears. I went back to the customer service desk and asked to talk to the guy who I spoke to earlier again. Told him that this was the LAST TIME I WAS GOING TO BRING MY DOG INTO THE STORE & I'M NOT SURE IF I'LL EVEN SHOP THERE AGAIN. Not sure if the guy even did anything. I'm a bargain shopper. So I usually looks for the sale items and coupons when I can. The layout was great... Looks like the deli and bakery would be delicious! Have to keep that in mind when I'm needing something for a party or something last minute. I would probably NOT buy anything that was a clearance, weekly ad or coupon buy here. They're a bit more expensive than what most is. I did love how they blatantly advertise the coupons and weekly sale items. So it made for a very convenient trip. I got some really great deals... Like hell and mayo for $1.50, and a 6 pack of brawny for $4.99. Customer service was great. They had laundry detergent on sale with a free dryer sheet, when it rang up wrong there was absolutely no problem what so ever. Will probably be back. But just for sales and last minute things. I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't SO pricey. read more

Publix is a great place to shop and this location is no different. I've been coming here for almost a year now and have had many exceptional experiences and plenty of extraordinary examples of customer service. (I'm in an "e" kind of mood) I state my case: -A few months ago I was having some issues with a rather pricey prescription and one of the techs went out of her way to find a discount card, help me activate it, and call me on multiple occasions to keep me updated on the status. -Last month I went on a 10 day juice cleanse where I literally only drank the juice of fruits and vegetables that I juiced myself. I did all my shopping for this adventure at this Publix and was helped out tremendously by a handful of different employees working in produce. They helped me find substitutions for rare items a recipe called for and aided me in picking out the best type of certain vegetables for juicing. There are many more examples but you get the picture. The store also recently went through a renovation which included the addition of a large wine selection. read more

Publix has a great selection and typically presents a pleasant shopping experience. They also have great subs. However, we've tried to place an online sub order a few times and every single time, without fail, we show up to the store with no sub waiting for us. We usually figure "hey, they must be busy, we'll wait a bit." And then maybe-- if we're lucky-- 15 minutes after our selected time, they'll get around to making it. But we usually have to ask. They either haven't checked the online order reports for hours and didn't see our order, or they did but have forgotten about it by the time we arrive to the store. I get that people are busy, but why have the online ordering system if you're never going to check it? Aside from that snag, we generally enjoy shopping at Publix. Great selection, especially when it comes to produce. You can also build your own six pack from a wonderful assortment of craft beers. It's more expensive than Harris Teeter, in general, but largely you're getting higher quality items. If they can just fix the online ordering stuff, we'll be best friends in no time. read more

A chain grocery store that I frequently found healthy options in the freezer, shelves and produce departments. This store is where I found the spices ie. Mojo Mama, Everglades seasonings to flavor veggies and chicken. The publix in South Florida used to have sesame seed mini pita bread that was divine. For lunch sometimes I could find wonderfully made up green, fruit salads and their grinders (hoagies) were better than the Sub-way food chain. read more

This Publix is amazing. I go here at least once a week and I've yet to have a bad interaction. Staff are overly friendly, shelves are always stocked, and the store is bright and clean. I never have an issue with parking or even taking groceries to my car. 9 times out of 10 someone offers to take my groceries to the car for me. I appreciate this when I have my two young kids with me. Getting them into their car seats while putting groceries in the trunk is a time consuming task. Publix also has the best assortment of organic, pasture-raised, sustainable products which is really important to my family. Keep up the great work Publix! I'm a super fan. read more

I am a regular at this store & I couldn't be happier with my experience here. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. I have to give a special shout out to the manager Frank - he's wonderful! My mom and I were picking up my baby shower cake and Frank generously covered the cost for it. It was the nicest thing and truly set a wonderful tone for the day! Nice store however their prices are a bit higher than other stores in the area and they have a problem keeping sale items in stock. Also their store policies are a little annoying. Example: I wanted to purchase two containers of Boars Head hummus that was on sale if two containers are purchased. They only had one. I got a rain check for the hummus but they charged me full price for the only one they had in stock. It's not my issue they can't keep sale items stocked. read more

This Publix is always clean and well-stocked. At times they won't have sale items in stock, but they will issue rainchecks without any problem. Checkout is usually fairly quick for such a busy store and cashiers are friendly and efficient. The store isn't as light and bright as other nearby Publix locations, but that is a small detail that may only matter to me. read more
