This is my go-to grocery store when I'm in the area. I have been here numerous times, and I always leave feeling satisfied. The cashiers and workers are all really friendly and helpful, as well as the customers. I'll come by if I wanted to quickly grab some yogurt, sushi rolls, or a bite to eat at the deli. The food is always really fresh at the deli, and they always really generous with the portions. Always look for their specials, because they're usually great! The good thing about this location is that they have a separate seating section with complimentary condiments and napkins. Oh, they also always have fresh, beautiful flowers at great prices. This is sort of like my boutique grocery store. It is right down the street from my house and I run in here when I need just a few items. Those few items generally turn into a few more, and maybe even 3-4 more. For instance, I was here yesterday and just needed to replace my Juicy Juice. Yes, I drink that don't judge me! It is one of the not so many juices that is actually 100% juice and no high fructose corn syrup...I think. Let me double check that latter half, but it is good. Anyway, this is not a review of the juice but rather my experiences at this Poo BLICKS. Entrance: That entrance coming in from Peachtree is a a bit tight and you cannot make a right at that first turn once instead their parking lot. It feels so natural to make that immediate right, but it is a one way headed in the opposite direction. Quite often I have made the turn anyway forgetting about that and bypassing the 2 or 3 signs that say something like "Don't turn here" "Hell No" or "No Entrada" something like that. Parking is ample. The Store: Once inside, the store is clean. I walked in yesterday looking lost apparently because someone came right up to me and asked me did I need any help. I walked in and could not remember what I wanted on my mental list. That is always a dangerous move that makes you spend more. Just don't go to the store hungry. That is even more dangerous for your pockets and pantry. The sales clerk did not point me in the direction, he took me directly there creating conversation along the way. He even showed me a version of the juice I had not considered which was the Juicy Juice in a box. Never considered. Thanks sales clerk! I will stick with this for now but it's good to know my options. Take note Nordstrom. That is how you deliver good service. Beautiful people + groceries = a win for the singles This is probably the biggest, nicest, cleanest Publix I've come across. I'm guessing since it's right next to LA fitness all the hotties come here for their post workout nutrition. Seriously, everyone in there was good looking. Wow, I wasn't expecting to walk in and not be able to see either end of the store. This is a BIG Publix, full of organic, gluten-free, and other specialty items that tend to be hard to come by in the standard chain stores. Some of it cost more than a place like Trader Joe's, but I was surprised that a few things were better priced than Kroger. I was happy to taste test a number of things at the deli, none of which were bad. The chicken salads - yes, plural! - are all excellent and the staff behind the counter is friendly and helpful. This could be because it's brand new, but I hope the friendliness factor never wears off. While it's rare I need to interact with someone at a grocery store, it's nice to know that if I do, I can get it here. Note: I wouldn't come here expecting an extremely large selection of organic products in many of the aisles, but in the meat department there was a very solid selection and price points to match. read more

I used to love shopping at this Publix, but I will not go back. On my last visit a completely maskless cashier was working the only Express Checkout lane, talking loudly with unsuspecting patrons trying to pay for their groceries. I switched to a lane with a masked cashier, checked out, and then went to speak with a supervisor to point out the gross high risk employee. She did nothing but said she would pass along the concern to a manager. read more

After hearing about this new hybrid Publix on the radio, I knew I had to check it out. There was a similar Publix where I lived in Central Florida that I was a fan of. Sadly, this hybrid Publix wasn't quite as nice as this one in Florida, but still compared to other Publix's across metro Atlanta, this Publix has to be one of the better ones. The various inside eateries provide a wider range of foods compared to most other Publix stores. There's a little coffee shop and they have some mighty tasty gelato. Then there's a deli section. Besides the standard, but oh so tasty Publix subs, there are some other sandwich selections. I had the roasted veggie and goat cheese sandwich and it did not disappoint at all. Plus having a full belly prevents me from spending too much when grocery shopping. Next to the deli is a wide variety of various salads, cooked entrees, etc. And they give free samples. Even better! What left me somewhat disappointed was the mediocre looking hot bar. That day's selection were all Asian dishes. I love me some Asian food, but the stuff in this hot bar looked worse than some of the stuff you see at one of those seedy Chinese food buffets. But the rest of the Publix did not disappoint. The wine selection is pretty decent and there's supposedly a sommelier to help you out. There wasn't one while I was there though. Oh well. The selection of produce was definitely larger compared to other Publix's and there was a quite a bit of organic stuff, if you're into that. The butcher / meat area was definitely impressive. As for the rest of the store, you could find plenty of regular grocery stuff, intermingled with organic, gluten free, and other foodie finds. I was also impressed by the beer selection including being able to make your own six pack. Additionally, as I expect at most Publix stores, the staff are always friendly and say hi to you in the aisles and will do what they can to help you out. I can't say the same about some other grocery store chains in Atlanta. Will this particular Publix be my go-to Publix from now on? Probably not. It's just a bit too far from me especially, since there are closer Publix stores with similar, but not as nice, selections. But if you're looking for a happy medium between expensive and pretentious Whole Foods and a chain grocery store, this particular Publix may be for you. read more

This Publix makes the one in The Prado look like a low grade Food Lion. Seriously. Okay, it makes all the rest of them look pretty lame too, but especially that store and that one over on Cheshire Bridge. I will come back to this one, 5.5 miles one way or not. I don't even care how much of a pain in the ass it is to maneuver around the top parking area. There were plenty of spots but it was so compact lanewise and it's kind of a free for all regarding the traffic in it. Never figured out how exactly to get down to the bottom level but I'm sure it's somewhere. Awesome things - Salad bar - Cafe with gelato! - massive produce section, so I could finally get my paws on some tangerines - actually carries So Delicious products including not one but three kinds of refrigerated coconut milk! - actually has Greenwise Italian chicken sausages - carries Strongbow in cans AND Unibroue - all the cute endcap displays of products - ready to cook meals to make at home if that's your thing - everyone who works here is nice! though that tends to be the case w/new Publix stores but who cares, seek them out. - more than one checkout lane open! Un-awesome things - It isn't right by me I wish I had stopped here yesterday too when I was looking for that sausage. Cause guess what, it was nowhere to be seen at The Prado, and I got pork sausage and it sucks compared to the chicken ones. To echo some of the previous reviewers, this is THE best Publix. At least the best one in Atlanta. There's just so much more at this Publix than any other location. This Publix aims to be more of a comparable option to Whole Foods; there's a much larger organic stock and wine selection, they have a gourmet cheese concession, a gelato stand - in addition to the bakery, and there's a larger variety of prepared foods from the deli. The customer service is great, especially at the deli. There's minimal wait, and as soon as a deli clerk spots you, they're on their way to help (unlike certain locations: http://www.yelp.com/biz/publix-super-market-atlanta-3#hrid:-muX3TWy2M6w2dy4GZ5S-w) Samples are frequently offered, and I love their specialty items - particularly the maple turkey and brie sandwich (which is only served at this location). I will always pick Publix over Kroger and I really like this location. I have not quite learned how this store is laid out, but they don't put a bunch of fluff and clutter up front depending on the holiday. The store is well-organized, not so bright with fluorescents that you get a headache and the staff is so friendly, if you can't find something they will walk with you to the right location and help you find it. The other great thing about this store is they have self-check out aisles, which makes quick check-out even easier. The store is super clean, the products are fresh and they do a great job in keeping the shelves neat and organized. It's like they have little elves running all over the place helping out. Other stores could take a page from this one. read more

I have always preferred shopping at Publix over Kroger. I think that the prices are slightly higher, but i shop the sales and feel like the produce and meat is better quality than what I have been able to find at Kroger. My faith in Publix was diminishing because of some bad experiences at the Cheshire Bridge and Norcross locations. Cheshire Bridge wouldn't honor sale prices that were listed online for their store and the Norcross location was always missing products I needed. I decided to check out the Brookhaven location because my neighbors were raving about it. I'm glad that I did! This Publix has a nice layout and its easy to find the products. On Saturdays they have a LOT of samples so you can come in, roam around and lunch is covered :) They also have a section by the bakery where you can order food to either eat there or take out which is pretty cool. The prices are kind of high so I haven't tried anything but the food looks good. The only con to this Publix is they make you feel like a con artist when using coupons. They always try and tell me that I cannot use them for one reason or another which usually results in the front end manager coming to take care of things. I am not one of those extreme couponers or anything I usually have a few for that match up with the products are on sale. It doesn't matter who check me out the cashier always questions me about the coupons. read more

If you are ever having a bad day where you think nobody in the world likes you VISIT THIS PUBLIX! Every employee (and I mean EVERY employee) that I walked past said "hello", "how are you today", or "hope you're having a good day, ma'am". And when I checked out, my receipt came with a highlighter smiley face! Admittedly, Publix is not the most economical grocery option, but I'm seriously considering stopping in daily just to keep up morale. On a different note, this location is actually fantastically well-stocked. Unlike some of the smaller Publix locations, the Brookhaven branch is huge, offering a wide selection to brands, a full wine section, and a pretty darn good deli. They do demos and tastings on the weekends- so check in on a Saturday to get in on the action. read more

Product selection: This Publix has everything you could want! The selection of their products from produce, meats, salad dressings and even wine is great. Staff: The staff a Publix is always fabulous but this location seems to put an extra emphasis on customer service. I usually don't need help when I'm grocery shopping but it's nice to know that if I am having problems finding something, there is a store employee nearby that is happy to help. I've even had a cashier asked if I found everything I was looking for and I mentioned that I couldn't find canned pumpkin that I had just found there last week. She sent someone to the back and brought me back two options. It was definitely not necessary but I definitely appreciated them ensuring that I had the best shopping experience possible. Parking: I am always able to find parking right out front on the top of the deck. Although it does usually seem crowded so if that bothers you I would suggest just going straight to the bottom of the deck which is never very full. There are elevators that you take directly into the store and you can easily get your cart on and off the elevator after you've made your purchases. Tip: I recently learned that at Publix if you compliment an employee to a manager that the employee gets a free lunch. So, if you are at Publix and an employee is extra helpful or friendly, go ahead and take the extra 3 minutes to track down a manager and let them know. I used to think that the Cumberland/Vinings Publix was the best in Atlanta. While it is probably the largest, I recently found out I love the Brookhaven Publix more. It's a totally gorgeous store with all the selection of a regular Publix, plus the boutique-y feel of a WF or FM. The produce is fantastic, the wine selection is large, and they have a ton of cool organic/natural bath and beauty products. I love that the displays are all interesting things that you don't find just anywhere, like organic food or specialty items. My husband and I often day dream of moving back to the northside just be nearer to this Publix. read more

It's hard for me to give a grocery store 5 stars, however this Publix is nearly immaculate. The store is well-lit, clean and fully stocked. The store layout and wide aisles make shopping easy. The employees here are extremely helpful and friendly. I'm talking real smiles here people and eye contact! This is a welcome departure from interacting with employees at other local stores who seem like they are miserable. Before I ramble on... This review is specifically for the the Bakery Dept. I ordered a "Wonder Woman" theme birthday cake for my 4-year old daughter 2 weeks early. When it was time to pick up, I was very disappointed...the border of the cake was orange which was supposed to be yellow, the sides of the cake were rainbow-colored which was supposed to be yellow & blue strips with white stars, and it had a sloppy handwriting. On top of that, when it came to slicing the cake, I noticed that the icing tasted like whipped cream when I specifically ordered buttercream icing. All together...I was very disappointed. read more

The Publix bakery and event planning services at this location are phenomenal. I picked up a birthday cake and accidentally dropped it 30 minutes before the start of a birthday party. Flustered, I called Publix and Ariana (with event planning) was able to coordinate with the Bakery team and get a brand new cake made in time for the party. There's not too much you can really say about a grocery store, but I definitely like this one much better than the other nearby Publix. They have a great selection, friendly staff, a helpful butcher, and quick lines. The only issue with Publix is that it's quite expensive for several items. As Kroger continues to improve their stores and image, Publix may have a difficult time justifying the additional cost. This location is great though; I love the Town of Brookhaven shops! read more

After checking out the Grand Opening of the new Publix/Greenwise Hybrid, I can say I like it. It's huge (larger than it's parking lot, although there is a garage underneath) and well laid out. While they don't have a Gluten Free section, the GF items are located with everything else and are marked as such. The Pharmacy is the left when you walk in and the Bakery, pre-made food section is to the left. The curbside pickup is the Peachtree Street side and is pretty to see. The main parking lot in front of the store is tiny as I said and you'll have to drive around to back to get to underground parking entrance. Since it is opening day, everyone is very friendly, smiling, and helpful. They will walk you to your car and help you put your groceries in. If you live in the apartment buildings, they will walk you to the building. They are giving way really nice freezer bags but not sure how long they'll last. The Publix brand cream peanut butter is on sale for 1 cents with a $10 purchase. The only reason I took off a star is cause parking is not pretty and while they do have GF selections, it's not as much as I was expecting for a Greenwise Hybrid. Wholefoods down the street still is still the closest place with the largest selection. Nut's n Berries also has a pretty good selection and decent sales. read more

Many have said how great this Pubix is and I have t echo that. It is great for more then just service but variety, layout, etc. This Publix is extremely clean, it is similar to what a giant Whole Foods would be, in the Produce, floral, vegetable section. It's very well lit, easy to maneuver and easy to get in and out. Parking is easy, they have the upper deck and they have the lower deck. You can enter the upper deck, just be aware that the flow of traffic is pretty defined. Never know these Atlanta drivers! If you are in a hurry, they have the quick meals, which all Publix do, on display and all the menu items ready to go next to the demonstration. Publix curbside is available for a fee where your food will be ready and delivered to your car. If you go in, with just a few items, they also offer the self check out, to keep you moving. I will continue to use the Publix closer to my house, this location is along my route to many places I visit regularly. read more

Seriously, this is the BEST PUBLIX EVER! So clean and bright and inviting (and convenient for any Brookhavenites!) Located in the Town Brookhaven Plaza with some surface level parking - which admittedly can get crowded and hectic at times - plus more underground parking with an elevator which opens up directly inside the store for handicapped use or for full shopping carts. Butchers are very service focused and will happily split packages as requested. Bakery personnel are cheerful and will take special requests with a smile. Expanded wine department here, gorgeous organic and regular produce departments too. Cashiers remember the regulars and are friendly to all. Management is visibly present on the store floor interacting with customers. Shopping is truly a pleasure at this Publix. A GREAT addition to our neighborhood! read more

There are 2 different ratings from me: 5 STAR for the pharmacy and 2 STAR for the bakery 5 STAR for pharmacy: the staff and pharmacists there are very friendly and helpful. I had a eye drop prescription (tiny bottle of 10ml) that my insurance won't cover costing almost $160 for my son's pink eye. The pharmacist was very helpful on finding me a manufacturer's coupon to lower my cost to $75. So grateful she saved me so much money! 2 STAR for the bakery: I tried ordering a birthday cake for my son, the lady behind the counter seemed to care less. She also became annoyed when I asked her a few questions about the cake. I cancelled my order the next day and took my business elsewhere. There are SO MANY bakeries out there dying for my business, why the attitude? Maybe cause they get paid hourly, SO less orders mean less work? read more

After many months of searching for flowers that wouldn't break the bank, I stumbled upon a great review of Brookwood Publix's floral department 3 weeks before my wedding. Connie in the floral department saved the day! She was so sweet - helpful, knowledgeable, responsive and respectful of my budget. She designed my bouquet, flowers for the groom, parents and centerpieces for a third of what other florist quoted me for half the flowers. They were absolutely stunning! My bouquet was full and was still looked fresh 2 weeks later. The wedding was held in Savannah and Connie made sure to pack arrangements so they would survive the trip down...even helped us load them in the car! I only had to take them out of the buckets and put them in a vase the next day. We got many compliments and I got a piece of mind....and saved a TON of money along the way. I admit that I am picky about most things like this, but the flowers exceeded my expectations. Thanks to Connie and the rest of the team at Publix who helped make our day so special. read more

This Publix has gone way down over the last year and a half. The prep food area is a joke. Dirty, old food, slow and possibly understaffed for the amount of people that come through here. But that's not what we're going to write about today. Today, let's talk about the Publix Promise and overall lack of customer service. I'm betting the employees here have been told (by management no doubt) to NOT honor the Publix Promise unless the customer asks about it (due, also no doubt, to the multiple instances of incorrect pricing). Either that, or some employees just like to make things difficult. Case in point; today I bought 4 packs of chicken necks for my dogs, but found 1 to be labeled wrong after loading everything in my car to leave. Before we get to that though, let me explain the Publix Promise for those that may not know about it. If you buy any item, excluding tobacco and alcohol, and you are charged the incorrect price then you will be refunded the cost of that item and given that item for free. If multiple items are purchased and they are all wrong then the price is corrected and you are given one of those items for free. This transaction only takes about a minute to complete. However, when I brought my $2 package of chicken necks (for which I was charged $10 because it was incorrectly labeled "chicken cutlets") up to the front desk the woman behind the counter wants to bring it allllllll the way to the back of the store for the meat dept. to correct the price on the package. I have no idea why this needs to be done since all she has to do is clearly see the wrong price on my receipt, refund the $10, and hand me the package of chicken necks. But now I have to drive home and return, because I have about 15lbs of meat and a pint of ice cream sitting in my car in 95 degree heat. So, either the Publix Promise has disappeared into thin air or we're just going to do things the long way today. I don't know, maybe because it's Thursday, or because the sky is blue, or because that's just what we like to do with chicken necks ...NOT a new a employee, and she's well aware of the Publix Promise. I go here often enough to know these two things to be true. That's why I say they've either been told to ignore the Publix Promise, or some people just prefer to do things the long way. Come to find out when I returned 15 to 20 mins later that what I was given was a refund for the difference instead of the full $10 refund. No, no, no ...now I want the other $2 just on principle. And for making me drive a hot car full of meat and ice cream home first. However, conveniently enough, in the 15 to 20 mins I was away there was a shift change and a new person behind the counter. Now I have to explain the transaction to her and ask "What happened to the Publix Promise?" Instead of listening to a very simple problem with a very simple solution it's time to shrug the shoulders and claim "I don't know what she did, I wasn't here". Explanation #2 takes place. "I don't know, I wasn't here but I'll give you the difference anyway." Yeah thanks ...for finally honoring the Publix Promise at ...gee, I don't know, where are we again? Oh yeah, PUBLIX! Can't wait for Whole Foods to open up the road. Right now I spend a ridiculous amount of money at Publix because it's usually my favorite of the grocery stores, and because of it's location. But I'll spend the extra money at Whole Paycheck as long as they have it together up there. Plus, their hot bar though. Good stuff. In the meantime, I'll make the extra 1 mile trip to the Publix up on Johnson Ferry which seems to be 100 times better at doing Publix things at Publix. As far as Kroger goes, no thanks. Kroger = dank poo. This is a long a** rant and review, but I don't care. And I barely touched the prep food area. Also, didn't even mention the new trend of expired items still on the shelf ...which used to be mainly a Kroger thing. Get it together Publix. Until then, you get 1 star and like it. By the way, It's not my intention to slight any employee at this Publix. For the most part they are very personable and a pleasure to deal with. The problems mentioned in the previous four or five paragraphs are a reflection on management as far as I'm concerned. This review is for the "hot food bar". I gave it one star because what I just saw and ate was pathetic. The meat selection was poor and it was obvious that it had just been sitting there for who knows how long. I had to pry the food off the dish it was stuck to. The fried rice had some kind of bitter flavor to it. Overall letdown. I'll never touch that hot bar again. I'm so glad I wasted my money on that trash. read more

Maybe it's because it's brand new, but this is my new favorite local grocery store. Their inventory is huge with a plethora of options including organic, imported and locally grown foods and products. They have a well maintained and fresh hot/cold bar and deli/bakery. My experience here reminds me of another grocery I like to call "Whole paycheck", but without the inflated prices. The store is spotless, and there is an abundance of employees welcoming & willing to offer their help. The parking lot seemed small at first, then I noticed the underground parking. As silly as it sounds, their carts have drink holders, which is an added bonus. Also for the size of the store, they have extra wide isles, which makes shopping easier when it's busy. The coolest thing about this Publix is they are one of only a few in the country that offers a new service- online ordering of all your items with same day pick-up, which can really help simplify shopping. So from this moment forward, this is my new #1 choice for a grocery market and will be referred to as "Whole-Publix" :-) read more

One of the nicest Publix stores I've ever seen. They have a butcher case where you can select your steak, and another case at the deli with pre-made dinner stuff. There was turkey meatloaf, mac-n-cheese, asparagus, brussel sprouts, quesadillas, and more last time I visited. There is also a gelato stand. Publix has been making improvements to their stores over the years, and since this one is new it seems to have them all. It also has curbside service for the physically impaired and incredibly lazy. I may consider moving so I can be closer to this Publix. read more

With a Publix literally a mile up the road going either direction; this one could have done so much more to get my attention. It's new and cheerful and very cozy-sort of like Harris Teeter without the dark color scheme. The customer service at this location rocks and the curb side pick up is a great feature (if I was actually organized enough to plan my grocery shopping before hand so someone could have it ready for me to pick up curb side)...but... What I am still confused about is all the marketing that went into touting this as a 'hybrid' Publix that would offer so many new expanded green-wise choices. It really just doesn't seem that different from the other grocery stores in the area. I was told this Publix would be offering expanded choices in organic fruits and veggies and a large hot bar for people to grab quick meals from, a gourmet coffee bar, etc. Well, I'm not sure if they are still ramping up but the organic fruit and veggie offerings were comparable to the Publix down the street when I stopped by a few weeks ago, so no big difference there. Hopefully the selection will expand soon. The hot bar and salad bar is reminiscent of the hot bar at the Kroger a mile up the road, really old looking, dried up, heavy sauced items. The coffee bar is nice and the little cheese/wine section, too, but again, nothing that would make you bypass any other Publix, or Kroger, if that's your thing. read more
