As much as I love shopping in Publix, I have become very disappointed in the companies overall handling of its stores when it comes to the urban markets. I just found out that this location is marked to close towards the end of December 2025. Though Publix is a bit on the high side cost wise the products there,most will agree are excellent, seafood,meats deli etc. The problem is if you've notice, and I've been watching this and taking notes for years that once a Publix store becomes too urban the count down begins for shutting it down. They usually site reasons such as lack of shoppers, low performance or some other trumped up reason to close. One of the reasons cited in the closing of this location was parking and the explanation given in my opinion was silly. But again this is my opinion and that is that instead of remedying or even attempting to problem solve Publix in my opinion finds it easier to close stores in areas where the AA population have increased. This has happened in stores over the years such as in cities like Jonesboro Riverdale and other urban areas. Vey rarely does stores in cities such as midtown Dunwoody Alpharetta etc close. If you are concerned about such things as theft or lack of shoppers or whatever your reason then hire security or develop ways to bring more shoppers in don't close stores that people need or want just because of your silly profit margins... just my opinion.... read more

This review is for the Bakery at the Atlantic Station Publix. My son' birthday was a few weeks ago and I asked what type of cake he wanted and he said Paw Patrol and sprinkles lol. I have a baker we go too but she was booked and I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to figure out where I could get a cake on short notice from and boom! I remembered Publix makes personalized cakes. So the night before I place my order for my son's Paw Patrol cake and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! I couldn't have been happier with the cake I was presented, especially for such a great price and at such short notice. Not to mention, anything for my lil guy and the cake was the highlight of his day and there's no price I could ever put on that. The cake itself was a vanilla cake with vanilla custard inside and sprinkles added for color and on the outside a full paw patrol theme with the cutest Marshall toy car on it that actually rolls and your child can play with. The cake was delicious, not too sweet and it was very moist and lasted perfectly in the refrigerator. SHOUT OUT TO THE BAKER THAT MADE MY BABIES CAKE!!! You are a SUPERSTAR!! read more

The best subs ever. I always look for a Publix when traveling just for the deli department.

I was nearby and waiting for the Millennium Gate Museum to open and it turns out that they're still closed for COVID (July 2020). I popped in to pick up a drink and a snack. This Publix is much like others. Bright aisles, well lit, pleasant associates. It is a little smaller than many but they seem to still have the usual stuff including grocery, deli, frozen, butcher and such. I got some sliced Boar's Head from the deli and a case of soda. The young lady who rang up my purchase was pleasant. The shop does have an underground parking deck if you can figure it out. I was on foot. Every time I order , it's always ready and correct. The bakery does a really great job with the cakes and heh always taste really good . If you want balloons , you have to have them filled in the back by produce and the team back there is always happy to stop what they are doing and take care of that for you. I've been to this Publix quite a few times. It's really your standard Publix, maybe a bit smaller of a store. You can pay a meter or park free in the garage for 2 hours. I always use the garage and there's always parking right next to the Publix elevator. This Publix generally has nice employees and decent customer service, I've never had any issues here. The store is usually clean, sometimes the restrooms can be hit or miss though. Overall, the selection is a bit less than other stores due to the size of this location, but all of your necessities should be covered. One may avoid this location thinking Atlantic Station is a hassle, but really you can get in and out in 5-10 minutes! read more

Deli customer service is consistently bad, you move like there isn't a line if people. If you place an advance order an hour ahead of time and even give them a 30 minute grace period, it's still not ready when you arrive, and when you let them know you're there for a pickup order, they take their sweet time and catch an attitude if you point out that it was supposed to be ready at a specific time. There is one person that's actually fast and friendly and he's a light skinned little guy. The rest of the team needs to be replaced. read more

Update. The Atlantic Station Publix has just installed energy efficiency motion sensors in the frozen food aisle. When I rolled my cart around the corner and noticed the lights inside all of the freezers were off, I thought they must be having some sort of electrical problem. However, as I walked down the aisle, the lights inside the freezers lit up as I approached each one. That's when I noticed the new motion detectors above the doors. Bravo to Publix for being energy efficient! This Publix continues to be my go-to American grocery store, but mainly because it's a quick minute from my condo. Small and cozy because it's in the city, but always clean and the employees are quite helpful. Also, the prices here are competitive with Kroger. Parking is a breeze if you enter the Atlantic Station deck from 16th St. and park near the Publix elevators on P2. read more

So this publix is smaller than most but convenient for those that live nearby. I like to run here for a quick dinner. Publix sandwich, wings, rotisserie chicken, prepped dinners(the lobster pasta is great), or the meatballs(cook yourself) are great. There is bike parking and tables out front to sit. There is a parking garage underneath free for two hours or you can park up top with the street parking but it's overpriced. That out do the way, I would stay away from the ground turkey, ground beef(outside of their prepared meals) bacon and sandwich meat(by the bacon not the fresh cut). It never fails every time I come here I see gray meat. It's a little ridiculous because this publix has a high volume of people, so you would think it wouldn't be too hard to check dates on meat when half of them are gone, but I literally walk past it on the way to get yogurt every time and see gray meat. Customer service is great but lord have mercy, the produce section is consistently the WORST of ANY grocery store in and around Atlanta and I've been to them all! Everything single time I go there is barely any selection and all of the produce is bruised up and or ugly. And it's not like I'm showing up at 6:30 after everybody already took all the good produce I shop in the morning and this is consistently a problem for me. They really need some quality control in that part of the store. I would exclusively shop here because it's the closest grocery store but I have to drive all the way to Kroger because this place sucks. read more

As this Publix happens to be right underneath my residence, I've had quite a few visits and it's decent. I'll start on a positive note. The registers are very well maintained and I have never seen lines getting too long, so that's a plus. The meats section is also generally good and things are fresh. However, produce is not just below the standards set in the marketplace, but also than any other Publix (except the Buckhead Lenox location). Organic area is just pitiful, most of the fruits and veggies are rotting. Even in the non organic sections, I've gotten rotten garlic here. The selection of natural items is also lacking. For example, I dare you to find an all natural wing sauce here! Veggies and sauces aside, I'll comment on the staff. They don't seem to be trained to Publix standards for the most part. Some of them are often unsure how to handle various customer service situations and some cashiers are not very friendly or careless. Such as spending the full interaction chatting with other employees and ignoring the customer. Others are great. There is just no consistency and the folks being recruited just don't seem to be on par with other Publix locations. read more

I've developed a new obsession with Publix subs. They're huge and expensive, but the prices are comparable to that of New Yorker-style delis around Atlanta. Also, all the meat is freshly sliced for your sandwich, and the bread of the hot sandwiches is toasted. I really like the philly cheesesteak, especially with grilled onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and olives. The Italian sub is also excellent, especially when you add pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, spicy mustard, onions, olives, banana peppers, pickles, olive oil, and vinegar. The deli and bakery at Publix are both excellent. Everything is fresh and way tastier than whatever Kroger has to offer in its deli and bakery. While I wouldn't make a special trip to this Publix for normal grocery needs, it's great to be able to pick up a few items after seeing a movie or doing some shopping at Atlantic Station. It's small, like the Publix at 8th and Spring, but generally has all the basics covered. I'm not often in this area, but this Publix is A-OK. So to speak. Not as big as some, more spacious than others - and if you can find parking on the street/with meters, you're golden. Everyone knows Atlantic Station is a cluster, so what can you expect from a major grocery store in this kind of development? Decent layout, your usual suspects from the deli area to the produce and adult beverages. Totally adequate for getting goodies in a pinch if you're in the area, if not personable like the Publix stores I usually frequent (The Peach and Peachtree Battle). And like Daniel B said, this is one of the Publix stores that has those cool motion-censors in the frozen food aisles (Cheshire Bridge does too). Nice touch. Nice patio tables outside where you can eat your sub, sushi or roti chicken for lunch - much more pleasant than the Buckhead (Target) Publix on a nice day! read more

The recommended grocery store if you are in the Atlantic Station area and need some snacks, drinks, etc. This is a smaller that usual Publix, so don't expect a huge selection of items. That said, I wish East Point had a Publix like this in their downtown. Easy access through the parking garage and by walking on street level. Friendly and efficient check-out service. read more

Most of the items are fresh and best of the quality. I always end up rolling my cart in all the sections. The vegetables are little higher in prices compare to other supermarkets but I like the quality of products they sell. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. This place works best for me as it's underneath my residence. I love their sandwiches too. They are very healthy and tasty. They use all the fresh ingredients and vegetables. I would recommend them to add pet food products which are missing product lines for me or for pet lovers who end up visiting a pet store, especially for pet food. read more

Parking downstairs and taking the elevator up seems kind of fancy, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think they did a great job making things work, especially given Atlantic Station's design. Their complimentary carry-out service definitely comes in handy here because you don't have to worry about bringing your cart all the way back upstairs after you load your car. I don't like their layout. This is one of their smaller intown designs, but it's nothing like the others on Spring Street and North Avenue. I guess it has all the same stuff. I have to say out of all the public stores I like this one the least. You think I'm such a high end area they would have a better selection and items would fresh but I find the only thing they do very well here is the pack and go services as I like to call it. You can order head and just pick up the bag and check out. Personal each time I've been here, almost all the produce looks old and on its way to spoiled. All the bags of grapes looked horrible, all of the bags of various lettuce was on its way to to spoiled, the price is one of the highest in the city across the board. I would suggest to management to also take a look at their meat selection and several packets of meat are also at expiration. The floors were very unclean and the bathroom were not kept well. I get this is mostly used by people who live right on the area like residence of the apartments but for that reason I would expect a much better upkeep of the store. Ok so, we Washingtonians don't know anything about Publix...this is a south thang... Publix locations are very convenient where I live. This one especially....I have tried the hot bar food and it's great. I always get one of there baked chickens for Tekno (my Chihuahua) yes that's correct he don't really eat dog food...the cooked baked chicken is always fresh! Each time I have gone in here all the food is fresh and everything is reachable or findable which is a great part of a grocery store! I can get beer, wine, and all my needs from this Publix and not voice a compliant. For it to be a smaller location this Publix normally has everything I need in stock. read more

I can't believe I've lived at Atlantic Station for nearly a year now, and I get beat to the first to review by just a few months. Anyway...the Publix for Atlantic Station seems to be a little smaller and less well-stocked than other Publix's, but then again, this one is branded as an "urban market" which I haven't seen on other Publix's. It's also clearly designed a little more as the store for Atlantic Station/Home Park residents, rather than a "destination" grocery store. If you live just a little further west, you might as well go to the larger Kroger on Howell Mill. All that said, this Publix suffers from some of the same things every Publix seems to suffer from - lack of quality produce. Sure, I can get my standard onions, garlic, and the like here, but for some reason, everything always seems a little smaller, a little limper, a little less vibrant. Unfortunately, the DeKalb Farmer's Market is nearly a 40 minute drive in average traffic conditions, making Publix my default for everything unless I'm getting something special. However, while small (just 85,000 s.f. according to Atlantic Station's site), it certainly carries the basics that anyone would want. There's a deli that is stocked with the basics and a few fancy things, but a recent quest for liverwurst found me empty handed. The bakery seems to be doing its job, churning out a decent number of baked goods of relatively decent quality. The meat and seafoods I can't speak much to since I usually get that stuff at Costco or the Farmer's Market, but on the rare occasions I get fresh meat, the selection is once again decent - not great, but certainly not bad either. However, when I was looking for a cut they didn't have, the person who I assume is the meat manager told me that I could always call in a day or two early and they'd order it special for me. So that's a huge plus, as they recognize that they don't carry everything. Unfortunately, this Publix seems to be perpetually understaffed - at the deli, at the butcher shop, at the registers. So there's usually a line. But on the upside, this Publix once again does seem to cater to the Atlantic Station residents, meaning people making frequent trips for a few things (and usually by walking! with a reusable bag!) instead of a few trips where they load up on things. So it means that while there may be two or three people in line ahead of you, the total item count is likely to be less than 10 per person. In fact, I had heard a rumor that Publix was thinking about rolling out a delivery service since the average transaction is so low. All that being said, Publix is Publix. This one happens to be a little smaller, with a little less choice, but it certainly meets the needs of the vast majority of people who actually shop here for their standard food needs. And it's always nice and clean. So dock one star for produce selection (as I would with every single Publix), and another for the feeling of understaffing and sparsity in selection sometime, but in all honesty, this should get a 3.5. Oh, and as for what Andre said about parking - if you park for less than 2 hours, don't bother going to a pay-on-foot machine. Just go straight to the exit, where you can also pay if you're using a card. read more

This is one of the busiest Publix stores I've seen. They have a good variety of products and fresh produce. The BOGO sales are great value and usually I can find a sale in most categories. The deli is also great for subs, however there is usually a line for it. I wish the store was a little bigger for more products but I guess most stores have limited space in the city. The staff and store manager are also friendly and professional. Although I have not used the complementary service I see people have Publix employees walk out to their groceries to the car or nearby residence which is nice for people that need assistance. read more

I'm between 2 and 3 stars here. I shop here quite a bit and get a very frustrated with the customer service - especially at the sandwich counter. I grab subs here quite a bit and the people there are not that friendly and take their time, I've waited in line over 20 mins before just to get a turkey sandwich. I will say there are two ladies that are always very friendly at the checkout counter and I enjoy running into them when they are working. However, the food is pretty good, once you get it. I especially love the chicken fingers. As for shopping, I can typically find what I'm looking for even though this is a smaller store. Love to shop at Publix. Clean, good, organized merchandise. Advantage of having a pharmacy with intelligent and responsive pharmacists under the same roof make it very convenient.
